SNAPSHOT - KAY COVER
4⭐
Snapshot is a perfect blend of friends to lovers leading to marriage of convenience.
I really enjoyed reading especially the friendship part between Dex and Lennox leading to their attraction. The end however I felt rushed when they confess their feelings esp when the friendship between them was described at length.
Nonetheless it was quite entertaining and an enjoyable read.

Lennox is the down and out woman who loves paycheck to paycheck, and just lost her job, her boyfriend, and her apartment. Dex is the future CEO of a big name cruise company, who has been living a double life in Vegas, pretending to just be a dive shop owner, taking people out on scuba excursions. When Dex is faced with a forced marriage situation, he calls one of the only women he actually trusts not to run to the tabloids to spill all his secrets.

The romance parts were nice. The business aspects were actually interesting and decently written. The steamy scenes were INTENSE. And kinky. And felt so open-door that they were voyeuristic and sometimes a little too much for be, simply because it was just... very explicit.

Going into this book, I got the impression from the cover that it was a let me teach you something about life book, but then the blurb gives sweet romance vibes. This turned smutty real fast and I was unprepared.

It's all fairly well-written. Outside the bedroom, it's really good. Inside the bedroom, it was... a lot.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy via NetGalley in return for sharing my thoughts on this book. Thanks to the author and publisher for this opportunity!

Captivating story with spicy characters! A marriage of convenience starts the blur the lines, but who can blame them? The chemistry and tension are palpable.

Snapshot - Kay Cove
3 stars

This is the second book of a series, and I was so excited to read this after reading book 1. Unfortunately this just wasn’t it for me. Maybe my expectations were to high and I let myself down. But I much preferred books 1.

I do love Coves writing, its aways so easy to read, but I just didn’t connect with this book.

A great cozy for a winter day. There are multiple stories that all come together and a not so surprise romance of opposites attracting to each other..Enjoyed this story with a surprise twist at the end!

This was the second book of the series and both so far have not dissapointed, the tropes in this book worked perfectly together (friends to lovers and marriage of convenience) Lennox and Dex were the cutest mmc and fmc with some pretty intense chemistry and I feel like you get to see them grow as individuals and a lot as a couple throughout the book. Although a couple of things that Lennox did annoyed me I was completely invested in this from start to finish as I'm also a sucker for office + billionaire romances and needed to see how the story would play out and I was pleasantly suprised by the twists and ending.

I can't wait for the next book Kay Cove writes as I'm a big fan of her writing!

Thank you to NetGalley and the Author for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was the first book by Kay Cove that I have read and I was very impressed by her writing. The story was tightly woven and well crafted. The two main characters, Lennox Mitchell and Dex Hessler, were well drawn and easy to like. Lennox had a rough childhood with a father who had been trapped by scandal. Dex, on the other hand, was the only child and heir to a billion dollar mega-corporation. Raised by his grandmother, Dottie Hessler, Dex felt trapped by his family’s money and as a result felt unable to really connect with a woman. Everyone seemed to see only dollar signs when they viewed Dex.

Dottie did the only thing that made sense. She fired him from the Hessler family business in Miami and gifted him a small one in Las Vegas. That is where Dex met Lennox, but because of past experience he kept Lennox at arm’s reach as merely a friend. Lennox knew that even in the much simpler surroundings of his live in Las Vegas, Dex was out of her league. Raised in a family that went from money to poor when she was very young, Lennox knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Dex was out of her league. Both people lied to each other as well as themselves about the deep attraction they felt for each other.

That had been Dottie’s hope when she sent Dex to Las Vegas in the first place. When Dottie first met Lennox—as merely a good friend to her grandson—she immediately saw that they were perfect for one another and concocted a plan to put them together permanently. As the sole heir to the Hessler fortune and as the CEO of the Hessler Group, Dottie was a woman with power. Yet she saw in Lennox an image of herself at a younger age.

As she neared death, Dottie rewrote her will gifting her entire estate not to Dex, but to Dex’s wife. That was the key that eventually forced the two “friends” to admit that they both loved the other. The question that the reader is left with is, why did Dottie gift everything to Lennox and not to Dex? Therein lies the heart and soul of the story.

I really enjoyed this book and loved the two main characters. My only disappointment was that I felt all along that Lennox could have been so much more. I was longing to see Lennox not just as a survivor, but as the kind of strong, capable woman that Dottie had become. Dottie grew into her roll as CEO of the Hessler group and I thoroughly expected Lennox to do likewise. In the end she was little more than the typical female main character of an ordinary romance novel. I wanted to see Lennox and Dex as co-CEO's of the Hessler Group. As a result I can only give this a 4 out of 5 star rating.

I really appreciated NetGalley giving me a chance to read and enjoy this book with my promise of a free and fair review.

I found Kay’s books with the release of Camera Shy and I’ve been obsessed with her writing and her stories ever since.

Snapshot can be read as a standalone, but there are references to the characters in Camera Shy in this book.

Lennox and Dex’s story is angsty and heartfelt, with spice and mystery woven in. I knew there was a snake in the grass, just didn’t know when or how it would strike…I was so impressed with the characters, the growth and how everything all came together. Bra-freaking-vo!!

I would definitely recommend tissues, this book pulls you in and toys with your emotions in the best way!

This book is a thrilling ride filled with mystery, emotion, and unforgettable moments that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

Cove’s storytelling is captivating, and the way she weaves together the lives of the characters is nothing short of brilliant. I loved how the plot unfolded, revealing secrets and twists that I never saw coming! The protagonist’s journey of self-discovery and resilience was so inspiring, and I found myself rooting for her every step of the way.

What really stood out to me was the exploration of relationships and the impact of our choices. The themes of trust and redemption resonated deeply, making this not just a thrilling read but also a thought-provoking one.

This is my first read by Kay Cove. I really enjoyed it and even though there were some things I had predicted there were still some surprises. I was happy the romance aspect didn't take too long to happen. I liked the flashbacks of the grandmother and the hints of her life and what she gave up in order to give her family a secure life. I wish Lennox had known the grandmother better, though. I feel like they would have gotten along, and it would have been interesting if she had lived and was a mentor to her. I look forward to reading the first book and the next book in the series.

This was a great read!

The story was well-written with well-developed characters. It was easy to get hooked on the story. Dex and Lennox both were amazing characters. They were obviously meant to be together. I liked how they were friends first before eventually becoming something more. I do wish there was more of Lennox with Dex's grandmother. She was amazing and they definitely would've been best friends.

I highly recommend reading this book! It will for sure make you a fan of Kay Cove! I can't wait to read more books from her!

Kay is an expert at writing and capturing your full attention. I loved this novel, the characters, and Dottie above everything else. I just wanted to see her and Jacob together for the last time because her personal story broke my heart. However, I believe they actually met in that gazebo in the afterlife.

Usually not a fan of fake marriage tropes but I will always love friends to lovers. This was both super cute and sexy. Good intro to a new to me author!

Fun and exciting fake marriage. Convenience quickly becomes much more than an arrangement. Loved this one, super fun.

Dex and Lennox have both been in love with the other for years, unfortunately neither will tell the other. Oh, and Dex is a secret billionaire who is suddenly dealing with unexpected inheritance terms. Can their friendship survive a marriage of convenience to earn that inheritance and a very sexist board of directors at the inherited company? Full of twists and curveballs and spice, this was a thoroughly enjoyable read. Dex just wants to be a simp for Lennox, life just needs to get out of the way.

Kay Cove’s Snapshot: Lessons in Love is a passionate and heartfelt romance that weaves the excitement of a high-stakes marriage of convenience with an exploration of love, ambition, and personal growth. The story follows two friends whose seemingly practical arrangement turns into an unexpected emotional journey, revealing their complex feelings and aspirations.

The plot centers on Dex, a billionaire suddenly given the condition that he must be married to inherit his grandmother’s cruise line. Enter Lennox, his close friend who, facing financial uncertainty, agrees to be his wife for a year. What begins as a strategic business move quickly deepens as they juggle corporate demands and a growing romantic tension, blurring the lines between pretense and genuine affection.

The chemistry between Dex and Lennox is electric from the start. Cove skillfully builds a slow-burn connection through subtle glances and playful exchanges that keep readers hooked. Their shift from friendship to something more profound is convincing, with each shared experience unveiling new layers to their bond. The characters’ personal growth is equally captivating, as Dex evolves from a laid-back bachelor to someone confronting the responsibilities of his family’s empire, while Lennox steps confidently into her role, proving her ability to navigate the corporate world.

The novel excels in addressing themes of self-worth and breaking through societal expectations. Both Dex and Lennox grapple with insecurities—Dex with the legacy his grandmother left him and Lennox with proving herself in a world that often underestimates her. Their growth is both authentic and compelling, adding depth to their romance and making their journey together more rewarding. The corporate intrigue enhances the narrative, with Lennox’s strength and resilience taking center stage as she faces tough boardroom challenges.

For romance fans looking for a story with substance, Snapshot: Lessons in Love strikes the perfect balance of passion, suspense, and empowerment. The steamy scenes are tastefully crafted, adding to the emotional intensity without overshadowing the story’s heartfelt themes. Cove’s witty dialogue and well-layered storytelling bring to life a tale of love that’s not only about attraction but also about discovering courage and resilience.

In short, Snapshot: Lessons in Love is a satisfying read that offers romance, intrigue, and transformation. It’s a must-read for anyone who loves a story where the passion is matched by character depth and high stakes.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for providing this digital reviewer copy of such a captivating romance in exchange for my honest review.
