I honestly liked this because it brought back the nostalgic feeling of the kinds of fantasies I read as a child. Katie is whisked into another world where she meets various odd characters and has to figure out how to get back home.
Katie learns a lot about herself and has to find her bravery to be the person she wants to be. Back home, she had been mean to her parents, because of their divorce, but she has a better understanding and acceptance now.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

Such a good read! I rated it 4 stars. I recommend everyone to read this book as fast as they can because it's really good and the characters are fantastic.

This felt like a pretty average book to me. Ok characters, and a predictable storyline. It read to me, like some of the older books from the 70s or 80s for some reason.
I liked the integration of a poison entity in another world was damaging not only it's world but the earth, that gave it an interesting feel.
But overall this book was a bit 'meh' to me. nothing super exciting, but it wasn't exactly dull either. Just average.

This was a strong fantasy novel that I was enjoying the world that was created. It had that element that I was hoping for and enjoyed the children’s fiction novel. Ellen Dee Davidson was able to create a unique story with characters that I was looking for.
