The second book in ‘Wildfire’ series, and I loved it even more than the first! Another top tier book from Jewel E Ann. Thank you
Maren and Ozzy are wonderful together, and Lola really made the book for me.
This covered some heavier topics. Maren's patience and support was perfect.

I recently had the pleasure of reading From Nowhere, the second installment in Jewel E. Ann's Wildfire series. This poignant romance tells the story of Maren, a fearless tanker pilot, and Ozzy, a widowed single father, as they navigate their way through grief, healing, and the courage to love again.
Jewel E. Ann masterfully crafts a narrative that delves deep into the complexities of grief, healing, and love. The characters are relatable and well-developed, with Maren's strength and Ozzy's vulnerability making them both endearing and authentic. The chemistry between Maren and Ozzy is undeniable, with a slow burn that builds into a passionate and emotionally charged romance. The way they support each other, especially Ozzy's daughter Lola, adds a heartwarming layer to the story.
The story explores themes of second chances, resilience, and the power of love in healing past wounds. The setting, though not overly detailed, provides a fitting backdrop for the emotional journey of the characters.
While the story is engaging, it sometimes feels a bit long, with some sections moving more slowly than others. However, this didn't detract significantly from my overall enjoyment. While Ozzy's relationship with his daughter is beautifully portrayed, some supporting characters, like his in-laws, felt slightly one-dimensional at times. However, they still contributed to the narrative's emotional depth.
Overall, From Nowhere is a beautifully crafted story that delivers on its promise of an emotional and captivating romance. While it may not have been perfect, the strengths of the book far outweighed its weaknesses. Fans of single dad romances with a focus on grief, healing, and second chances will likely find this book compelling. Jewel E. Ann's storytelling continues to captivate, and I look forward to more from this series. If you're in the mood for a heartfelt, emotional read with a strong focus on character development, From Nowhere is definitely worth checking out.

I enjoyed this book, and I absolutely LOVE Jewel E. Ann's style of writing. I thought the story was quite enjoyable, and I loved seeing the growth between Maren and Ozzy. I thought they has such a wonderful story and I loved their connection, and Lola! This is more of a personal note - I felt the story was a bit more fast paced at start, but I did have such a good time reading their journey together! I also loved seeing the glimpse of Fitz and Jamie. I am looking forward to seeing more of Will and the crew again!!

Loved. Single dad romance will get me EVERY TIME. This duet series was so so good. Highly recommend! The chemistry these two characters have from the beginning was top notch.

Oh my days! The story of Maren, Lola and is so beautiful!!! I freaking loved this book and was instantly hooked. I finished it in one continuous go! Could not put it down! Be prepared to feel it all!
Also huge kudos to the Narrators! They did a fantastic job!
Such an emotional read! Def recommend!

I LOVED this book. So much raw emotion and the characters are just so real. These characters never fail to make me laugh. And cry.
I swear Jewel outdoes herself every single time. I have never read a book of hers that disappoints.
This book had me in my feels.
Maren is a pilot and a firefighter. She has a dangerous job. She loves her job and her life. But when Ozzy Laster walks in to the men’s restroom to find Maren in there, her life takes a turn for the unexpected. The two hit it off in a funny start.
Ozzy Laster tragically lost his wife two years ago in a car accident. The same car accident left his then 8 year old daughter literally scarred for life. The two are still healing from the tragedy in their own ways. But when Maren blows into their lives, she changes things for the better.

This book is actually the second in The Wildfire series, but it can be read as a standalone.
Thank you @authorjeweleann and @valentine_pr_ for the ARC. 🩵

Jewel E. Ann really did it again. I don’t even know how she keeps pulling me in like this — From Nowhere was everything I hoped for and more.
The emotions in this book? Off the charts. One minute I was smiling, the next I was clutching my chest wondering how I got so attached to these characters. The depth, the chemistry, the tension — it was all so perfectly written.
I loved how real and raw everything felt. The characters weren’t perfect, and that just made them feel even more human. Their struggles, their growth, the way they connected — I was fully invested.
And let’s talk about the writing — as always, Jewel’s style is so smooth and addictive. She has this way of making heavy moments feel light enough to breathe, but still hitting you right in the heart.
From Nowhere is the kind of book that lingers after you finish it. It’s heartfelt, emotional, and so beautifully layered. If you’re a fan of second chances, deep emotions, and characters that stick with you — this one’s a must-read.

I really enjoyed this book but It was a little to I sta love.. Ozzy is perfect and I loveeeeeed him and I really like Lola as well, I just didn't connect with the characters and the plot as much as I thought I would.

Ahh I have SUCH mixed emotions with this. Ozzy is 1000% top dad. He is caring, supportive, and empathetic, while also being humorous and sexy. What an embarrassingly fun meet-cute! I LOVE Maren and honestly thought the banter and relationship building was cute, albeit frustrating with sneaking around. It would have been 5 stars except for two actions in the third act- it honestly left my jaw dropped.
After this duet & Sunday Morning, Jewel Ann is an auto-buy for me.

One of the things I got from this book is Ozzy’s daughter is definitely the biggest cock block I’ve EVER had the pleasure reading. 😆🤣 Bless HIS heart. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE HER. Her spunk and her inability to not spill the beans KILLED me.
Oswald “Ozzy” Laster is dad of the century. The way he loves his daughter is what I expect from now on! Sure, dad’s love their children. Ozzy, went through hell and back and knows the importance of never taking a single thing for granted when it comes to his little girl Lola. EVENNNN when her verbal diarrhea gets in the way sometimes.
Maren is exactly what Ozzy (and Lola) needed. He wasn’t looking for a partner, he wasn’t necessarily in the position to want to start dating. Maren is the most patient FMC I’ve ever read. A queennnn really. But a man after my own heart.. like he was on a hunt for a tampon or pad for a complete stranger in a bathroom at his work, that happened to be in the men’s bathroom because the woman’s room was out of order? Come on! Funniest meet cute EVER.
Their story is emotional, angsty, charming and oh so romantic. I will never not be in awe of the way Jewel E Ann can win over my heart every single time.
A million star read, if you ask me.

I’m almost positive someone has created a Jewel E Ann monster because in the last 2 days- I’ve read 3 of her books and I’m not sad about it.
This book was so good. I honestly liked it better than the first of the series, and maybe that because I am a single dad lover to. my. core.
Ozzy is a single dad/widower.. always showing up for his daughter- and agrees to ride only a bike. Basically his 10 year old is terrified that she will loose him in a car crash like she lost her mother so she is in therapy trying to cope with the fact. When I say this man only rides a bike I mean- RAIN, SLEET, or SNOW… he won’t even ride with someone else driving..
Insert Maren and wanting to date her. It’s been 2 years since his wife passed, and this woman has completely through his life for a loop.
Maren is a BADDIE. She is a fire pilot. Like, that’s just freaking awesome.. but what I love most about her is that she knows exactly what she is signing up for going after Ozzy. She never makes him choose…
Until there is no choice and he can’t get to her…
The last 15% of this book wrecked me as a spouse, a mother, and just a human in general.
I’m sitting on pins and needles for the next in the series… LETS GO!! Thank you VPR and the author for the chance to read and review early!!!!

I really enjoyed this book but I do wish it was a little more of a slow burn. Ozzy is perfect and I loveeeeeed him and I really like Lola as well, I just didn't connect with the characters and the plot as much as I thought I would.

From Nowhere was a wonderfully emotional story with great characters, a wonderful storyline, and messy, imperfect characters that are perfectly imperfect together.
The second book in the Wildfire series, From Nowhere focuses on the roommate Maren, a tanker pilot, and Ozzy, a single dad who works at Cielo as a mechanic on the planes. From their *very* memorable and awkward meet-cute to the tears in the middle and that well-deserved happily ever after, I loved this book so much!
Ozzy had gone through so much with the tragic death of his wife in a car accident that left his young daughter Lola emotionally and physically scarred. He is such a good dad, and the lengths he went through to help his daughter deal with her trauma were amazing. He was just kind of wandering through life, not really living, until he meets Maren in the restroom at work. And while Lola's issues could have caused some women to run far, far away, they drew Maren closer to this single dad and his sweet little girl.
Ozzy is so swoony and romantic, and Maren is so patient with both him and Lola. I was cheering hard for this pair, especially through everything that his former mother-in-law, Tia, threw at them.
By the end of this book, all of the characters had gone on a wild ride and found healing, and I loved where they ended up. Having read From Air, I also loved seeing Fitz and Jamie get married and start their life together.
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

I felt all kinds of emotions whilst reading this book. There were times where I felt my heart being ripped out of my chest. This book was the first thing on my mind whenever I woke up. I felt very raw emotions. It could not have been written better. This is my first book that I've ever read by this author, and in this series, but I am going to make sure that I read the other book in this series.

I really enjoy this author’s writing, as it flows easily and made it for a fun and smooth reading experience. I really enjoyed reading about Ozzy and Maren, and loved that they had such a strange first meet, that led to this secret relationship as they both try to figure out how to navigate a new romance. Ozzy is a widower whose number one priority is his daughter Lola, who is scarred (figuratively and metaphorically) by the accident that killed her mother. He’s a mechanic, putting his dreams of piloting behind him because his daughter can’t bear to see in a dangerous job, thinking that he would be taken away from her too. Maren is a tanker pilot, and she falls for Ozzy right away. They sneak around, since Ozzy lives with his in-laws, who moved in to help him care for Lola, and they don’t want him to move on from the death of his first wife. There were lots of sweet moments, some fun snarky comments, and I loved how precocious Lola is. In the beginning, I did think Maren pursued Ozzy pretty hard, and I think she really liked him more than he liked her, kinda planning her future around him already. I liked how he was honest with Lola about his feelings for Maren, but the end I think I wanted a grand gesture. Still, I really enjoyed this and I’m super excited for Will’s book!

I truly love Jewel E. Ann's writing SO much, there's so much heart & realness that's so refreshing & relatable. This book is heartbreaking & beautiful, you’ll laugh but cry & be on the edge of your seat.
I don’t know if it’s because I grew up in the south but the culture in this book (& all of Jewel’s recent books I’ve read) is so relatable & it helps to ground me in the story and feel further connected. There’s something to real & mature about this series. In From Nowhere, the main characters feel their age & it’s so refreshing. It’s grown adults making decisions that will affect others & they really have to be intentional.
The relationship between Ozzy & Maren is so precious and I love how the relationship between Lola & Maren grew. 😭 Please read this book, it's the 2nd in the interconnected standalone series Wildfire. The first book, From Air is also SO good and it's great to see glimpses in this book of the group!

In this second novel of the Wildfire series, a romance develops between air tanker pilot Maren and mechanic Ozzy, a widower with a young daughter. It was easy to get involved in these likable characters, and that's just what happened to this reader.
There are a number of obstacles to their relationship, and they have to work through them -- in-laws and daughters and friends. From Nowhere is a very emotional story, with the appropriate highs and lows for our main characters. Each time I read a book from this author, I'm impressed, and just love how she can wring the emotions out of the page. I did find the "hiding" a little juvenile, but almost understandable for this couple. So a solid four stars from this reader. Great characters, good pace that makes you want to keep reading.

From Nowhere is book 2 in Jewel E Ann’s Wildfire series. I adored book 1, From Air. When I saw From Nowhere pop up, I’ve never clicked so fast to sign up. I am praying there’s another book coming in this series and that Will gets his own book. His character has always peaked my interest and I would love to know more about him and a certain young doctor. I loved that the Fitz and Jamie also popped up (along with Will) throughout this book. It was so fun to see little bits of them throughout this books timeline as well.
From Nowhere is about Maren, the badass tanker pilot. Ozzy (and Lola) bring out the vulnerable, feminine side of Maren. She spends so much time in a male dominated career proving herself that it was so sweet to see that side of her. Ozzy was such a sweetheart and my heart broke for him (and Lola) w the backstory. His character also kinda angered me a bit lol. I was screaming at him to stop being so submissive to his in-laws but I do understand he was stuck between a rock and a hard place, he has the patience of a saint, I’ll give him that. The slow burn between Ozzy and Marren and all of their “almosts” only to be interrupted had me feeling the tension along w them.
From Nowhere tropes include single dad, love after loss, tragic past, slow burn, secret relationship and workplace romance to name a few. Even though it’s the second book of the series, I do feel as though it can be read as a standalone. However, hands down I recommend reading From Air. I still think about that book every day.

Jewel E. Ann has done it again! "From Nowhere," the second book in the Wildfire series, is an absolute gem. Maren, the skilled air tanker pilot, and Ozzy, the charming aircraft mechanic, are a match made in heaven. Their meet-cute was laugh-out-loud funny, and the banter that followed was simply brilliant.
I adore a good single dad trope, and Ozzy delivered! He's a fantastic father, and Lola, his daughter, is just the sweetest, most resilient little girl. She stole every scene she was in. The small-town setting added a lovely, intimate feel to the story, and the workplace romance was perfectly executed. The chemistry between Maren and Ozzy was off the charts!
What really struck me about "From Nowhere" was the emotional depth. While it had me laughing throughout, it also dealt with themes of grief and loss in a sensitive and moving way. Jewel E. Ann has a talent for balancing humor and emotion, creating a story that resonates on a deeper level.

I was laughing my butt off listening to this book!! This book was tragic, sweet, romantic, funny & spicy. Ozzy is a single dad to Lola, who is suffering from the grief of loosing her mother in a car accident, that she was also apart of. She has made her dad swear off motor vehicles, so now they ride their bikes everywhere. Ozzy is the most dedicated & understanding dad I have ever read about. Maren is an air tanker pilot, battling wildfires. After a strange, but sweet meet-cute between Ozzy & Maren, they find themselves instantly crushing on each other. But their relationship comes with many obstacles, his grief, Lola’s trauma, live-in in-laws, and Maren’s dangerous occupation. Ozzy is such a sweet man & Maren is so understanding of his grief & responsibly to his daughter. I can’t wait for the next book!
Thank you Jewel E. Ann & Valentine PR for the advance reader copy!
