This second chance at love read is emotional, sweet and ohhh so good! I loved this book so darn much! Ozzy has been through it! His wife and father died in a car accident. From that same accident his daughter was forever traumatized. As this man who loves his daughter more than anything figures out his life he never expected to meet someone else. Maren is a tanker pilot who has faced great loss herself. When she meets Ozzy it’s a very funny first encounter that turns into hot steamy chemistry pretty quickly. Maren is sweet, patient and understanding of everything Ozzy and his daughter are going through. Most of all Maren falls head over heels for his daughter Lola. This is a story about second chances, facing your greatest fears and everything in between. The characters go through so much to be together and this book takes them on a journey. A emotional journey with tremendous depth and incredible love. I can’t love this book more than I already do! I look forward to seeing where this amazing series goes next.

The second book of the Wildfire Series is Maren’s story and we meet single dad Ozzy. I loved Maren in From Air and Will, Fitz, and Jamie are a part of this book as well. Ozzy’s wife passed away in a car accident, and his daughter was so traumatized by the event that she refuses to ride in a car or let Ozzy ride in one also. I love so many elements of this story, the easy banter, the sneaking around because of in-laws, and the most unexpected events that are fun and sad. But overall, there is a theme of healing and life after trauma. Maren and Ozzy’s daughter Lola are a wonderful duo, and Maren’s motherly instinct shines. The audiobook was perfectly performed, especially with so much raw emotion in the last chapters. I loved it.

This was such a good story, from start to finish.
I laughed, swooned and had tears in my eye. Second chance, single father, with a strong, bad ass heroine.

Ozzie and Maren were perfect, they are two different but so good together, they inspired each other, struggled and grew together. Ozzie has traumas, his wife dying took a told on him and his daughter but Maren was everything to them, she help him heal, and the love he had for her made him fight all his fears. I loved seeing Ozzie and Maren heal and find each other.
In true Jewel fashion she gives you the angst, but also in every page she mends your heart with intertwined laughs and love.

Beautifully written characters, funny banter and lots of chemistry.
Loved it from start to finish.

If Jewel writes, I will read it (that is totally said in my head like the famous Field of Dreams quote).

I feel like I say this with every book she writes (and I probably do) but I don't think there is ever a story of hers that I do not immensely enjoy and find myself completely absorbed by.

All of her stories are absolutely addictive with their story lines. But these last two books have just been on another level with the emotions.

I freaking love Maren; I love everything about her. Ozzy - what can I say - he's on another level when it comes to single dads. These two together - perfection in so many ways.

I loved the progression of this story. It felt so natural, so real. Jewel delivers an amazing story that is filled with laughs, some angst and alot of emotion that will just pull at your heart.

From Nowhere is another phenomenal story that will stay with me a long time.

4.5 Stars

(She's a wildfire firefighter pilot, he's an airplane mechanic, single dad, slow burn, emotional, love after loss, steamy and spicy)

OH MY HEART!

This book took my heart for an emotional roller coaster ride. One moment I was swooning, then laughing, crying, blushing and more! I am still processing all of the intense emotions and feelings. Just wow. This was an AMAZING romance read!

I knew this book was going to be amazing and emotional. Some of my favorite things:

-He's a single dad with a cute and funny 10 year old daughter.
-He has to have the birds and bees talk with his daughter. (I was cracking up!)
-The MMC and FMC have such a cute, funny and awkward meet up.
-The slow burn had me dying but made the payUP.. TOTALLY worth it.

Overall, this story was emotional, captivating and thrilling...I couldn't put this book down!

I was SO happy when Jewel announced that book 2 in her Wildfire series was going to be Maren's. She is such a great character: strong, resilient, brave. Being a female tanker pilot in a male dominated field, you'd think she'd have a chip on her shoulder, but she doesnt. She's just a woman who has worked hard to get where she is and she loves what she does. The only thing missing is someone to love.

Ozzy is a single dad to sweet, ten-year-old Lola. The newest mechanic at the same company Maren works for, their first encounter is memorable, to say the least. Helping his daughter cope with the loss of her mom, living with his in-laws who help take care of Lola and starting a new job, the last thing on his mind is finding love again.

Jewel is the master at the emotional build up in her books. She hooks you pretty early on, and knows how to tease you mercilessly until that big moment finally happens. The chemistry between Ozzy and Maren is off the charts, and the relationship that Maren builds with Lola separately is so beautiful. I always know that when I pick up a book by Jewel I'm in for a treat. Her books are like a warm fuzzy blanket for the soul.

All the stars for this one! I loved these two and Lola so much. Like most of Jewels books this story is about so much more than just finding love. This book had it all, love, heartbreak, healing, tears and lots of laughs. Really hoping we get Wills story because I don't want to leave this world

I loved Maren, Ozzy & his daughter Lola.. the daughter is so funny honestly. She's 10 running on 30 and I love her sense of humor! She made me laugh throughout the whole story, and made me so proud as well!! Maren & Ozzy have an amazing relationship from the beginning, very honest. I loved it, everything they went through together, how they coped & just took it a day at a time. Losing a loved one takes time to heal & I loved how it was portrayed here! We all have different grieving process & traumas but that doesn't make us weak, on the contrary, It makes us stronger ❤️ Love this series and will recommend it to everyone! Can't wait for Will's story!

The second book in ‘Wildfire’ series, and I loved it even more than the first! Another top tier book from Jewel E Ann. Thank you
Maren and Ozzy are wonderful together, and Lola really made the book for me.
This covered some heavier topics. Maren's patience and support was perfect.

I recently had the pleasure of reading From Nowhere, the second installment in Jewel E. Ann's Wildfire series. This poignant romance tells the story of Maren, a fearless tanker pilot, and Ozzy, a widowed single father, as they navigate their way through grief, healing, and the courage to love again.

Jewel E. Ann masterfully crafts a narrative that delves deep into the complexities of grief, healing, and love. The characters are relatable and well-developed, with Maren's strength and Ozzy's vulnerability making them both endearing and authentic. The chemistry between Maren and Ozzy is undeniable, with a slow burn that builds into a passionate and emotionally charged romance. The way they support each other, especially Ozzy's daughter Lola, adds a heartwarming layer to the story.

The story explores themes of second chances, resilience, and the power of love in healing past wounds. The setting, though not overly detailed, provides a fitting backdrop for the emotional journey of the characters.

While the story is engaging, it sometimes feels a bit long, with some sections moving more slowly than others. However, this didn't detract significantly from my overall enjoyment. While Ozzy's relationship with his daughter is beautifully portrayed, some supporting characters, like his in-laws, felt slightly one-dimensional at times. However, they still contributed to the narrative's emotional depth.

Overall, From Nowhere is a beautifully crafted story that delivers on its promise of an emotional and captivating romance. While it may not have been perfect, the strengths of the book far outweighed its weaknesses. Fans of single dad romances with a focus on grief, healing, and second chances will likely find this book compelling. Jewel E. Ann's storytelling continues to captivate, and I look forward to more from this series. If you're in the mood for a heartfelt, emotional read with a strong focus on character development, From Nowhere is definitely worth checking out.

I enjoyed this book, and I absolutely LOVE Jewel E. Ann's style of writing. I thought the story was quite enjoyable, and I loved seeing the growth between Maren and Ozzy. I thought they has such a wonderful story and I loved their connection, and Lola! This is more of a personal note - I felt the story was a bit more fast paced at start, but I did have such a good time reading their journey together! I also loved seeing the glimpse of Fitz and Jamie. I am looking forward to seeing more of Will and the crew again!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I LOVED this book. So much raw emotion and the characters are just so real. These characters never fail to make me laugh. And cry.
I swear Jewel outdoes herself every single time. I have never read a book of hers that disappoints.
This book had me in my feels.

Maren is a pilot and a firefighter. She has a dangerous job. She loves her job and her life. But when Ozzy Laster walks in to the men’s restroom to find Maren in there, her life takes a turn for the unexpected. The two hit it off in a funny start.

Ozzy Laster tragically lost his wife two years ago in a car accident. The same car accident left his then 8 year old daughter literally scarred for life. The two are still healing from the tragedy in their own ways. But when Maren blows into their lives, she changes things for the better.

🚲The sweetest little girl
🚲Fun Friend Group that’s like family

This book is actually the second in The Wildfire series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Jewel E. Ann really did it again. I don’t even know how she keeps pulling me in like this — From Nowhere was everything I hoped for and more.

The emotions in this book? Off the charts. One minute I was smiling, the next I was clutching my chest wondering how I got so attached to these characters. The depth, the chemistry, the tension — it was all so perfectly written.

I loved how real and raw everything felt. The characters weren’t perfect, and that just made them feel even more human. Their struggles, their growth, the way they connected — I was fully invested.

And let’s talk about the writing — as always, Jewel’s style is so smooth and addictive. She has this way of making heavy moments feel light enough to breathe, but still hitting you right in the heart.

From Nowhere is the kind of book that lingers after you finish it. It’s heartfelt, emotional, and so beautifully layered. If you’re a fan of second chances, deep emotions, and characters that stick with you — this one’s a must-read.

Ahh I have SUCH mixed emotions with this. Ozzy is 1000% top dad. He is caring, supportive, and empathetic, while also being humorous and sexy. What an embarrassingly fun meet-cute! I LOVE Maren and honestly thought the banter and relationship building was cute, albeit frustrating with sneaking around. It would have been 5 stars except for two actions in the third act- it honestly left my jaw dropped.

After this duet & Sunday Morning, Jewel Ann is an auto-buy for me.

One of the things I got from this book is Ozzy’s daughter is definitely the biggest cock block I’ve EVER had the pleasure reading. 😆🤣 Bless HIS heart. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE HER. Her spunk and her inability to not spill the beans KILLED me.

Oswald “Ozzy” Laster is dad of the century. The way he loves his daughter is what I expect from now on! Sure, dad’s love their children. Ozzy, went through hell and back and knows the importance of never taking a single thing for granted when it comes to his little girl Lola. EVENNNN when her verbal diarrhea gets in the way sometimes.

Maren is exactly what Ozzy (and Lola) needed. He wasn’t looking for a partner, he wasn’t necessarily in the position to want to start dating. Maren is the most patient FMC I’ve ever read. A queennnn really. But a man after my own heart.. like he was on a hunt for a tampon or pad for a complete stranger in a bathroom at his work, that happened to be in the men’s bathroom because the woman’s room was out of order? Come on! Funniest meet cute EVER.

Their story is emotional, angsty, charming and oh so romantic. I will never not be in awe of the way Jewel E Ann can win over my heart every single time.

A million star read, if you ask me.
