Another 5 star read from this series! This time, the focal point is Maren. Upon meeting single widower Ozzy in the bathroom at work, there is just instant connection. I loved the slow burn of Maren and Ozzy's relationship, as well as the inclusion of obstacles they face in light of grief. The star of this book, however, has to be Lola, Ozzy's daughter. I am a sucker for a single parent, and I can't resist a sassy, wise beyond her years daughter. This book really has it all-- banter, emotion, angst, and a cat! What more could I ask for?

What a compelling five-star read. I honestly didn’t know what to rate this one for the first half, and then I don’t know why but it clicked, and I was away, and then I was sobbing good tears as well as sometimes sad tears, Maren and Ozzy will suck you into their story and drag you in, there was something special about it all. The chemistry and build of the story is just compelling, the pace has been great and I was sad to see if go.

Enthralling, captivating tale swept me away in a deluge of emotions on every page. It's the BEST BOOK of the year!!!!
Well, crying my heart out wasn't on my bingo card today, but here we are!. Jewel pulls no punches when weaving adorablity with angst, and even though I read late into the night, clutching soaked tissues, this is easily the THE BEST book of this year. Ask my puffy eyes.
This is Ozzy's story
Many a times between the laughter and smiles, I came across such profound a line, I had to stare at the wall for a bit and repeat it in my head. I just dropped in a chasm and wanted to stay there processing what I read.
"whole I greater than the sum of parts"
"clarity is never punctual"
I'll NEVER EVER forget this story or this series. Book 1- was superlative From Air. This book exceeds even more higher expectation, that has become a hallmark of jewel.
Starts off with hilarity when an awkward meet cute between Ozzy Laster and Maren Bernabe in a public toilet, her asking his help in getting a tampon, the bar is set pretty low. From then on, every meeting is an upgrade between them.
She rescues a stray cat for them and then buys a house to give the cat a tree house. Could she BE any more wholesome!!
Turns out she's also an impressive tanker pilot which he maintains and preps.
“She flies a plane, and you ride a bike."
But this is Ozzy's story
They couldn't be more polar opposites if they tried. She's fearless, while he's paralyzed by trauma. cannot get into a car and neither does his babble-mouth,10 yr old daughter-Lola. They're both stopped short at the point of impact, her wife gone and they're frozen in time, by the side of that road.. Ahhhhh this story hurts so good, it makes me smile even at disaster that's in the background. Makes me hope when there's no way the earth and sky shall meet. Makes me snatch sneaky moments of lust, hiding from young ones eyes and doom-spokespeople inlaws.
Again, this is Ozzy's story
I fell in love with Ozzy, a boy who lost his boy hood shenanigans exchanging it for dad hat. His heart is still childish and naughty and mischievous. He's thoughtful in choosing flowers and confu0ident he could survive and still find slivers of happiness for everyone.
"My experience with love has been extreme. The bigger the love, the greater the pain. And I don’t know if it’s worth it because it fucking hurts to love someone this much."
He's conflicted, frustrated, careful, accommodating, tolerating, focused, empathetic, indulgent....in everything for everyone, he's forgotten about his own desires and wants and needs. His existence is tied to Lola's only. Which makes me sad.
Because, This is Ozzy's story
Maren is a typical jewel heroine. With extra dash of chutzpah, takes life by the balls and plays with them. She's skilled, fearless, brave, inspiring, uplifting, logical, wickedly funny, nurturing, compassionate. She's ready to mold her own life to fit in Ozzy's world but here's the thing...
She inspires HIM to be a better person for HER!!
Omg it doesn't get any better than that!!!
Their palpitating lust is out of control. Hurried kisses, breathless sex, mingled dreams and all.
“You’re fueling my fire,” she whispers.
“Every text. Every word. Every glance. Every touch.”
“Should I do something to extinguish you?” I smirk.
Again, she watches for Lola.
“You should burn with me.”
Holy mother of hot balls Fire!!!!!
Of side characters, jaime-fitzy provide support, will is adorably pouty, Lola is no-filter, super smart, daughter, who becomes the glue to hold them together.
Tia, I didn't like, but I understand her.
I babble and you listened, wait for this book, it'll make you shed happy tears
PERFECT 6 flowers for the PERFECT story

This story had great characters. Ozzy a single dad is very swoony and his daughter Lola is a very lovable little girl who has been through a lot. Maren is the lead female, she is a tough girl who works in a male dominated field, and she feels like she must always prove that she belongs there. This story is also about grief and tragedy and how people process and the effects it can have on their life. This story is also about how good of a parent Ozzy is and the sacrifices he makes for his daughters and her wellbeing. It takes a lot of patients to be a good parent. Life will always be full of what ifs and things that can't be controlled. You cannot dwell on the what ifs and if I could haves because that time has passed you just have to keep moving forward.

This is actually the first book I’ve read from this author and omg it was so good! I will definitely be going and reading some of her other books.

Talk about a story that makes you feel all the emotions. I laughed, cried, and teared up more than once. Ozzy & Maren’s journey has not been an easy one, so grab a tissue and start reading.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.

this was sadly not my favorite jewel e ann book. I usually love a single dad romance, but from the beginning I just could not understand why someone would refuse to get in a car because their kid is too anxious that they’ll die in a car crash like their spouse… I mean I understand everyone grieves in their own way, but it’s 2024… you can’t live that long without even getting in a car? that plot point just bugged me and I had a hard time enjoying the story after that,

“This is the wrong time. Wrong place. Hell, it’s probably the wrong life. But I can’t bring myself to care. Clarity is never punctual.”
I am absolutely OBSESSED with this series!! We met Maren in book one and I couldn’t wait for it to be her time to shine as a main character and SHINE OUR GIRL DID!
Ozzy is a widowed father to his 10 year old daughter Lola. They lost Lola’s mother, his wife, in a tragic car accident two years prior. They are both still reeling from the after effects for that accident. Both physical and mental scars that dig deep.
Maren is a pilot, who has a new job working where Ozzy is a mechanic. Their meet cure is adorably funny and just perfect for them.
These two go through all the tribes and tribulations to get a happily ever after. The journey along the way is full of so many emotions that had me tearing up.
This is hard fought, but so deserving for three people and one cat (including Lola and Bandit) who are complete and utter soulmates.
I can’t wait to read Will’s story next!

I thought there was no way this book could be as good as the first in the series because I loved it so much. Wow. Just wow. I’m not sure I could pick a favorite. Jewel E. Ann’s writing always blows me away every time.
These characters truly feel so relatable and real while simultaneously feeling magical. Maybe my favorite single dad romance ever. That’s all I’ll say. This book was so emotionally raw and beautiful but also made me crack up laughing. The swoon factor too jeeeeze. Just read this book!!

So I need Will’s story now, because Maren’s was just so cute I sped through it too fast and I don’t want to leave this world yet. I managed to finish both books one and two from this series in only a few days, which should tell you this new series of Jewel E. Ann’s is just amazing. Maren who we met in From Air, the first book in the series, ends up falling in love with Ozzy who is a single dad. Ozzy is a fun and slightly goofy character who has a ten year old daughter who is afraid to ride in cars. Of course because this is a book by Jewel E. Ann you know there is more trauma hiding behind the scenes. Make sure you check out this series, From Air comes out in November and this book, From Nowhere, comes out in March.

Another winner from Jewel! Even though Ozzy, his mother in law, and daughter frustrated me at times, this still tugged at my heartstrings. Maren deserves the world and I especially loved the epilogue.

What a heartbreakingly beautiful story. From Nowhere had me swooning, crying, laughing and falling in love.
Maren and Ozzy’s journey was beautiful. There were no misunderstandings. They talked through things like adults and had the most beautiful, meaningful moments.
Ozzy is such a wonderful father. While he was dealing with his own grief he never faltered in his love for Lola or his duty as a father. Never pushed and let her go at her own pace.
Maren is such a beautiful character. Intelligent, accomplished, strong, independent, and loving. She has such a huge heart and has so much love to give. A perfect role model for a young, traumatized and impressionable Lola.
There were also characters in this book I found myself frustrated with but when I stopped to think how I would react if I were in their shoes, I totally understood where they were coming from.
I loved getting caught up with Fitz, Jamie and Will! Speaking of Will, I can not wait for his story next!!! Once again, thank you Jewel for another incredible story!!

Another great story by Jewel E. Ann filled with banter, angst, sexy times, love and an HEA!! You will never go wrong reading anything written by her!

Who knew Ozzy would chip away at my heart starting when he handed Maren some t.p. when she was using the men’s room? He has got to be the biggest golden retriever ever. The way he loves his daughter Lola and bikes everywhere with her is the sweetest thing I have ever read. My heart could barely take it. If you want to go back to your teenage years and remember sneaking around and hiding in closets, this would be a great book to reminisce with. It also has a great message of resilience, love and strength. All three of the main characters have to be brave in some way and take on their fears and they do it brilliantly. This was my first Jewel E. Ann book, but I’ll be reading more in the future.
Thank you Montlake, NetGalley & Jewel E. Ann for providing me with an electronic advanced readers copy of this book.

From Nowhere is the standalone second book in the Wildfire series. If you enjoyed From Air, you will absolutely adore this sequel. I absolutely fell in love with Maren and Ozzy and I really enjoyed the heartfelt romance between them. If you are a romance reader, you will absolutely devour From Nowhere! I highly look forward to reading more installments in the Wildfire series!

I haven't read the previous book in this series, but once I read the blurb of this one, I had to give it a try. Aviation is one of my favourite things, and it hits differently every time I find it in a book. I liked the role aviation had in this one, especially because both main characters were involved in it.
Now, to the plot, it was really interesting and enjoyable, with the daughter that won't ride in a car anymore, to the sneaking around of the adults. I have to admit it lowered the intensity after the first half of it and it lost my interest a bit, but it got right back towards the end.
Overall, I would say it's a good, relaxing book that will keep you entertained.

Book 1 in this series comes out NEXT MONTH and let me tell you, I loved the first one.
I DEVOURED book 2! This was so good! I laughed out loud, my tears got watery (sorry, not a big crier) and I was so moved.
Jewel E. Ann is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors. She has such an ability to take real life situations and trauma and create the most beautiful and moving stories.
This had one of the best awkward meet-cutes I've ever read and I was rooting for Maren and Ozzy from the start. Ozzy's interactions with his 10 year old, Lola, had me laughing out loud.
I loved every moment of this.
5 stars

From Nowhere, book #2 of the Wildfire series written by Jewel E. Ann. JEA is one of my VERY FAVORITE AUTHORS and this is now one of my VERY FAVORITE BOOKS! You won't be able to keep from falling in love with the budding relationship of Maren and Ozzy. They are both so likeable and the relationship that Ozzy has with Lola is really heartwarming. The fact that he has totally changed his lifestyle to cater to Lola's anxiety... well, you will find all of that out when you read this amazing book!! It's full of sweet, steamy, sneaky, sad and mournful parts as well as a connection that we all dream of having. And, don't tell anyone, but Ozzy has some sexy secrets that he hides behind that "good ole boy" facade. He is a bit of a stud! It's a new DON'T MISS SERIES by the incredible writer JEWEL E ANN!
