Maren and Ozzy meet in an unexpected way and fall quickly when each of them aren't looking for love. Ozzy is a widow dealing with his daughter who still living with the fear of being in the accident that killed her mom.

Maren's patient and understanding while they figure out their own emotions and how to even work with Ozzy's restrictions. Ozzy's daughter is full of life even with her fears and knows how to speak her mind. It was a bit too much especially when she would express her thoughts on his personal life.

Ozzy teaching Lola a lesson with the donuts was priceless. Such a good laugh on not embarrassing your parents 🤣

This was an easy read that I was able to get into easily. The characters were great and I was happy to see some major growth in some of the characters even the one I least expected to change.

This might be one of my favorite Jewel E. Ann books yet.
I’m a sucker for a good single dad romance, and this one delivered in the best way. The buildup between the characters was chef’s kiss. I laughed out loud so many times; Lola was main character energy in this one. She stole the show.

Jewel E. Ann has such a gift for tackling heavy topics while still making you swoon and laugh. That balance is why I’ll always keep coming back to her books.

5⭐️ ARC read

The story started as a 3⭐️ for me. Mainly because of a side character (who I'm not going to name, but it might be obvious which character isn't my favorite).

But the story got better as I continued to read. Even the side character got better (not by much).

Ozzy and Maren (the main characters) are perfect for each other.
Lola's (Ozzy's daughter) inability to keep a secret is one of my top 5 favourite things from this story/book.

Thank you so much to Montlake & NetGalley for this e-arc.

The second novel in the Wildfire series is Jewel E. Ann's From Nowhere. It's a slow-burning, humorous, meet-cute, single-parent, friends-to-lover, workplace romance about grief, healing, second chances, and accepting unexpected love. This story was amazing. I adored these characters. I liked how the tension increased over time and how the characters clicked right away. Jewel E Ann is an amazing writer, and I always look forward to her new books.

The funniest meet cute led to such a sweet love story. Ozzy and Maren’s banter was so fun. Their falling just felt so authentic. I loved Maren with Lola, it warmed my heart. Their bond was beautiful. Lola just stole your heart instantly.

The comparisons between Brynn and Maren kind of took me out the story at times. I know it added to the angst. I know it’s something that’s genuinely experienced. But, it was done very often and for me it kind of took away from Maren and Ozzy’s love story and those two had undeniable chemistry that I wanted to be able to fully immerse myself in.

The quirkiness of this story just added to the humor. The flowers and notes, oh my heart, they were the absolute sweetest. That was probably my favorite part. Jewel definitely brought the feels and emotions with this one. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

There's never been a time when I don't prepare myself before reading Jewel's books. I know she'll pack her books with the most sweet, cutesy things, and then throw a curve that will have me bawling my eyes out. ⁣This one is definitely more than just a love story, it's about growing, self-love, grieving, loss, healing, forgiveness, guilt. Jewel totally packed all of these feelings into this one, and I LOVE everything about it.

Ozzy and Maren's meeting was definitely a messy meet cute that I love. The chemistry was already chemstrying when they first meet. They both work at the same location, just different department, where Maren was the pilot, and Ozzy was the mechanic. Ozzy is a widow single dad. Ozzy hasn't dated anyone since his wife passing because he wants to focus everything on his daughter. But when his daughter tries to find dates for me, I lost it. LOL She's so sweet and the best. Ozzy and Maren totally hit it off. But their journey is not going to be an easy one.

Get ready to see the ups and downs of their relationship!!⁣

I loved this book. I loved the characters and getting to know Maren, who we met in book one. I loved Ozzy. So much. He tugged at my heartstrings so many times. Single Dad due to the most tragic circumstances, living with in laws who treat him like a child, and just the best dad to his daughter. I couldn’t get enough.
This book made me equal parts happy and sad and I couldn’t put it down.

I loved this book so much. Jewel E. Ann is such a prolific writer; I believe there is no trope or love stories she can’t do justice to. This was a classic JEA story, and she put her own poignant, introspective twist on a favorite salacious trope of mine — single-dad romance! I loved these characters. I loved their story. I loved their love.

Maren is a tanker pilot that fights fires during fire season and flies a family friend to meetings during the rest of the year. All she has ever wanted to be is a pilot. She loves fighting fires. She isn’t looking for a relationship right now. Ozzy became a single dad when his wife died in a terrible car accident. His young daughter survived but will always live with the scars from the accident. He is struggling to juggle being a single parent and working. He is single-minded in his focus to help his daughter recover emotionally from their loss. He doesn’t think he ever wants to look for love again. Sometimes fate has a funny way of showing people that what they think they want might not be what they need.

Maren is a straightforward character. She has friends that she loves and a job that she loves. She loves living in the house her brother lived in before he died. She’s comfortable with her life choices. The author did a good job pushing Maren along the path to adulthood. It can be hard to break out of a comfortable place but the pay off can be so worth it. Maren deciding to buy a house was a huge step and it affects other people. The author even gave the affected characters a chance to express their thoughts and feelings. Maren was incredibly patient with Ozzy and his daughter. She needed that time as much as they did since entering a relationship with a single father is a very serious decision. Ozzy is completely dedicated to raising his daughter, Lola. He understands her fears after her mother died. The fact that he gave up driving because his daughter is terrified of cars is pretty amazing. Ozzy develops a lot during the story. He not only has to overcome the pain of losing his wife but he has to learn to stand up for himself with his in-laws. He has to learn that his daughter isn’t fragile just scared. He has to learn that he is an adult and he is allowed to have wants and desires. I think the author did a great job expressing how emotional the roller coaster was for all of the characters. There are many side characters. All of them a necessary to help the main characters grow and change. There is no bad guy in this story. Are there people who I want to punch? Maybe. But there isn’t an evil mustache twirling bad guy.

They meet because of an empty roll of toilet paper. They fall in love because they are meant to be together. This is a contemporary romance. Both of the characters have suffered painful personal losses and they have had to learn to move on and live again. This is a love story that will pull at your heartstrings while making you smile. I was rooting for this couple by the end of the story. I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

Ozzy lost his wife and father in a car accident 2 years ago. His daughter survived the accident but carries physical and emotional scars from it.Since the accident Ozzy and his daughter refuse to get in a vehicle and they ride bikes everywhere. Maren is an air tanker pilot and meets Ozzy who is an aircraft pilot , at work and they have an instant attraction. Due to Ozzy’s situation they end up sneaking around. I loved watching their relationship grow and overcome all the hurdles they faced. Great book.

𝗠𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦: I loved every single thing about this book!! Ozzy is such a cinnamon roll MMC who falls hard & fast for Maren despite all the things he has going on in his life (which is a lot)! Ozzy is THEE ultimate father for his daughter Lola. He will literally do anything for her. Maren falls pretty hard & quick for Ozzy & his daughter too. This is an emotional read that had me crying multiple times throughout the book! I truly wanted to jump into this book & experience these characters & their story in real life. This is one that will stick with me for quite a while!

This is the second book in the Wildfire series, and it is just as good as the first! I loved reading Maren and Ozzy’s story and seeing if things work out. I feel the author covers the topic of trauma very well in both books. By writing the true ugliness of trauma but the beauty that can be found as well. I’d say this was a instacrush but also a kind of slow burn romance due to obstacles they have to face. I laughed so much at the description of ‘tarantula eyelashes’ used in the book. I’m hoping that the author will do a book for Will. I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

Ozzy is raising his daughter as a single dad; her mother, his wife, was killed in a car accident. Two years have gone by, and he and his daughter are riding their bikes everywhere because she has fears of getting into a car. Now working as a mechanic for an airplane service that handles planes for air drops for fires, he meets a pilot named Maren as she has come in to update some paperwork. Their meeting is unique, and their getting together is slow. This story deals with many different issues of loss, and also as a single parent trying to do the best you can. Lola Ozzy's ten-year-old daughter really makes the story and adds humor when needed, and also the guidance on looking out for the child as well. A really good book with excellent characters.

I actually did not finish this book, unfortunately! I had a really hard time with the insta love kind of feeling and then also the in laws totally threw me off

Wow! What another emotional and inspiring story from Jewel E. Ann! Adding in the fact that Ozzy is a single dad and everything him and Lola went through made the book so much more satisfying to listen to!

The narrators of the story did an amazing job capturing every emotion and I felt like I was totally emerged in the story. I could see Ozzy's frustration with his in-laws and Maren trying to make light of situations that were hard for her with how the characters were brought to life.

I hope we have another in this series! I can't wait for more

“There’s nothing more epic than falling in love with someone who loved my daughter first.”

Review: From Nowhere is book 2 in Jewel's Wildfire series and can be read as a standalone. Although, I absolutely LOVED From Air (book 1) and highly recommend it! We met Maren in From Air as Fitz's roommate and Jamie's best friend. She was so funny and protective that I immediately knew I needed her book. Jewel has such an incredible gift that you can't put her books down. You just need to know!

Maren is an air tanker pilot in Missoula Montana. Ozzy is an aircraft mechanic at Cielo where they both work, and a widow with the sweetest 10 year old girl, Lola. Oh my gosh, the meet-cute between these two put THE BIGGEST smile on my face! I was cracking up, and I was immediately hooked and needing more of them. I loved the journey these two went on, and the banter was top tier just like Jewel always delivers. I loved Ozzy and the little things he would do for Maren. Their sneaking around was kinda fun and brought back memories. I did want to smack Ozzy upside the head a few times, but it was part of his journey. Maren's patience and love for Lola brought tears to my eyes, and my heart swelled. The relationship between Ozzy and Lola stole my heart. He is such a good dad, and knowing what is best for Lola to heal from the trauma she endured. I felt for him and his struggles. Lola may have stolen the show in quite a few scenes, but she is so worth it. I loved the healing journey that they three of them went on. Maren truly was exactly what Ozzy and Lola needed. Jewel always delivers such unique stories filled with every emotion, and this book was no different. I loved the bits we got of Fitz, Jamie, and Will. I am secretly hoping for Will and a certain someone for book 3.🤞

I listened to the audiobook by Benjamin Sands and Amy McFadden. Both are new narrators to me, but I thought they both did a great job bringing these characters to life. I highly recommend this series!

Ozzy and his daughter Lola. Man, what a duo. First of all, the fact this man changes this man made for his daughters mental health and well being were unmatched.
In comes Maren who fit so well into their bubble and accepted them as they were. She was extremely patient and kind and even when she needed him most she extended so much grace.
Had I been in her shoes, I don’t know what I would’ve handled things the same way!

As usual with Jewels writing, there were soggy eyes but I loved it!

So heartwarming and inspirational! I loved Maren, Ozzy, and Lola. My heart broke for the tragedy that Ozzy and Lola had to go through, and how they were slowly trying to move forward with their lives. Lola was slower at moving on than Ozzy, but Ozzy was a great dad to her and would do anything for her. I loved how Ozzy and Maren met. When she learned his story, her heart went out to him and his daughter. She fell in love with his daughter first, wanting to support Lola, but also trying to convince her that she was brave and would be ok. Ozzy and Maren seemed perfect for each other, but it would be a long road for them with some bumps along the way. What's meant to be will always find a way. I am really loving this series and can't wait for Will's book.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.

I read this book in one sitting and I loved every second of it. The chemistry and passion between Maren and Ozzy was undeniable and sizzling. They were made for each other.

Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a single dad, he falls first, small town, secret romance then you’re going to love it.

There is so much love within the pages of this book. Maren and Ozzy are perfect for each other, I loved seeing their relationship blossom and grow. Whilst the reasoning for them ‘sneaking around like teenagers’ wasn’t great I thought it was quite sweet and added to the excitement and fun of their relationship.

Lola (Ozzy’s daughter) was the absolute star of this book, as she should be. I loved her, she was witty, fun and added humour book. I loved that she was such a main character and wasn’t shoved to the side which is often done in romance books. Jewell E. Ann dealt with quite a few complex topics and emotions throughout this book, it was wonderfully written. Seeing all the characters navigate their way through grief in such different ways, it’s definitely a thought provoking book and one that tugs on your heart strings.

I haven’t read the other books in this series but after enjoying this book I’ll be going back to read them, I loved Fitz and Jamie as characters in this book so I’m excited to go back and read their story.

Thankyou to netgalley and valentine pr for the gifted e copy of this book :)
