Dr. Meredith Quinn has a heart of gold. She cares so much for those around her that need dental services in underserved areas. She goes where they are and tries to help. By going to these places, she has gotten a bullseye painted on her back, as she wants to provide help in any way possible. She has obviously made someone angry.
Grayson is a hero in uniform who wants to keep Meredith safe, and his community safe. It is completely obvious that he loves Meredith, but his heart is guarded and locked away.
This romantic suspense will take you into a dark world of drug trafficking, untrustworthy law enforcement and deep crime nestled into the mountains. The romance was sweet and slow, with second chances being at the forefront of the story. Faith plays a big role in the story as well.
Thank you to Revell and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This novel was a wonderful dive into a twisy plot of drugs, crime, and romance. I loved every page of Meredith Quinn's story. As a dentist, she's committed to making a difference and finds herself sucked into a vortex of crime she doens't understand. Grayson is committed to keeping her safe, but won't fully let her into his heart. But he can't keep her safe when he's broken her heart. This book pulled me in completely in the best way. The love between the cousins and the community is wonderful. And the crimes are twisted together.

Lynn H. Blackburn is a go-to author when I want a fast-paced romantic suspense novel to read. Break My Fall was no exception, in fact, it’s probably my favorite from this author. Book 2 in the Gossamer Falls series, it takes the reader back to the picturesque western North Carolina mountains. But the goings on in the neighboring county are anything but beautiful. Drug and human trafficking are the crimes that bring danger to Meredith Quinn, a dedicated dentist who travels to serve those in need. I loved this character! She’s determined and stands her ground, but has a sweetness and a yearning for a family of her own that rounds out her character. There’s also great chemistry between her and the Chief of Police. Fans of the romance side of romantic suspense are going to love their story! Attacks on Meredith begin right at the start and grow in intensity until the ending. Whew! What a ride! Neither the characters nor I saw all that would be coming their way. Blackburn doesn’t keep her characters safe. LOL! While the suspense storyline is twisting and turning, the faith message that runs throughout the narrative never wavers. I completely get trusting in God, but making my own plans. 😉 While Break My Fall can be read as a standalone, I recommend starting from the beginning of the series, including the novella that is part of the whole. The Quinn clan is wonderful, and Blackburn’s depiction of strong family ties is a bonus to these stories.
I can’t recommend Break My Fall enough!
Highly Recommended.
Audience: Adults.

Meredith had pined for Gray almost since the day he moved to town, but unfortunately the feelings didn’t seem to be mutual.
When Meredith’s need to help puts her in danger Police Chief Gray is tasked with protecting her. It might seem like he was only doing his duty but in reality he did have feelings for her, but his past made him build walls around his heart.
I felt like the suspense part of the story needed more explanation for me, I felt like I was missing part of the story.
I liked the relationship that grew between Gray and Meredith, even although I wanted to shake him at times.
I loved how strong, open, caring and loving Meredith was. Gray was stubborn, protective, heartbroken and he eventually got out of his own way and let Meredith in.
I read the first book in the series without realizing it was a Christian romance, so was aware for this one. I don’t mind closed door romance, but I’m starting to think maybe Christian romance isn’t for me as this story felt a bit too much for me, but is no reflection on the story, purely my personal taste.

Lynn is a longtime favorite of mine, so instead of devouring this book (which part of me absolutely wanted to do), I took a few days and savored this newest book from Lynn H. Blackburn. Lynn has a knack for creating friend groups of characters I would love to be a part of, and adding humor, banter and snark to her stories that I simply adore. These qualities make her books absolute must reads for me and she never disappoints in her stories for me.
Break My Fall was a phenomenal read. Gossamer Falls is quite the little town and the cast of characters in this series are so much fun. The mystery element to this one, where the neighboring town is massively corrupt and somehow Meredith finds herself in the middle of all it, made for a story that had me pulled in from page one. I also loved the romantic drama/tension with Meredith and Gray, that packed an emotional wallop for sure. This story also teases the upcoming book that features Mo & Bronwyn very nicely. After seeing more of their current relationship (or more accurately lack there of) makes me super excited to find out their backstory and see that reunion. The ending of this one kept me on my toes, and had me reading late in to the night. Loved it!
Simply put, Lynn is a must read author for me every single time and I adore every one of her books.
I received an early copy of this book from the publisher and I have also pre-ordered an audible copy for my own collection. I was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

Gossamer Falls #2
I like those romantic suspense novels with a twist of family drama to it and I know that Ms. Blackburn will pen one to entertain us from the beginning to the end and once more did not fail in doing so with “Break My Fall”.
Dr. Meredith Quinn is heading home to Gossamer Falls to practice dentistry. Her clinic will service mainly children and adults to underserved areas known to harbor drug traffickers an area where local law enforcement is looking the other way. In Gossamer, Police Chief Grayson Ward has feeling towards Meredith leaving him exposed and vulnerable……and the story goes on…..
This second installment follows in the same tone and same concept has its predecessor. This time it focusses on Meredith and Grayson and to support them recurring characters from previous stories. “Break My fall” has its excitement especially when our heroes were confronted by the bad guys. There were a few in the neighboring town out to get Meredith. But she shows guts and genuinely cares for her patients and will go to no end to help. The side kick Grayson is a sweetheart, a man with a broken heart but cares deeply for Meredith but to scare to let his feelings known…I felt like shaking both…Get on with it. Of course, we had the expected play between them…definitely not X-rated ones.
This is a quick read, interesting in many ways and captivating in others. The style is clean and well-said no words out of place and one that says a lot yet fast to forget.
I like this latest I hope you enjoy it also.

4.25 stars
Series: Gossamer Falls, #2
I've really been looking forward to book 2 in this Gossamer Falls Series! Meredith and Grey sure took a long, complex route to a relationship, but once they got there, wow!!!
As before with book one, I love the tight-knit community--especially within the Quinn Family. They are all so protective of one another and want the best for each other.
The story has a good balance of suspense and regular life happenings that tell more about the characters. This novel definitely builds up the suspense and the last quarter is pretty intense! I loved the ending! Can't wait for the third book!
*** My sincere thanks to Thomas Nelson and Net Galley for providing me with an early copy. My honest review is in my own words.

"Break My Fall" by Lynn H. Blackburn is a great second story in this romantic suspense trilogy. Meredith, a dentist who is compassionate and caring to all her patients and Gray, a police office are a great combination with chemistry that pops off the page. This is a Christian Fiction book so is cleanly written, but they definitely have a spark in the writing that has the reader rooting for the two of them. I liked the Christian faith elements woven throughout the book. It's not overwhelming and is very well done.
Meredith's patients share information on what's really happening in the next county over that puts her in danger. Gray who is very interested in her but stays away due to his own trauma wants nothing more than to protect her along with her large family. I liked the dialogue between these two a lot and really enjoyed their love of good food including tacos and fish! This book had one of my favorite book quotes ever about tacos!
The suspense is front and center and is intense in many parts of the book, but offset by the romance and wonderful supporting characters in the book. Blackburn is a wonderful romantic suspense author and I can't wait to reach what she has up next for Bronwyn and Mo.
Thank you to Revell Fiction and Netgalley for an opportunity to read an ARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

The 2nd story in this series is just as good as the first! All the characters from the first book are still mentioned in some way, and I love Meredith and Gray's story. There are a few new characters, and plenty of suspense and romance. I love this series! You'll definitely want to read book one first, though.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance e-copy of this book! All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Break my Fall, by Lynn H. Blackburn, introduces Dr. Meredith Quinn. As she works out of her mobile dental van in the rural mountains of western North Carolina, Meredith finds herself in some very interesting situations. One evening when she is heading home, after visiting a patient in the mountains, she suddenly finds herself out of gas!
Grayson Ward, the local sheriff, drives up behind her and discovers that her tire was deliberately punctured. He is definitely concerned that Meredith may be the target of someone up to no good!
After Meredith promises not to leave home alone in the future, Gray cannot let her out of his sight. In order to keep her safe from the nearby drug dealing criminals, he becomes her constant companion. Gray even ends up going to a wedding, filled with many individuals of this criminal element, to keep her safe!
When Meredith and Gray finally leave the wedding, you know it will not be long before bullets start flying. You just hope they will survive the madness!

Another nail-biting reading experience from author Lynn Blackburn! We continue the series with the heroine, Meredith, who has had a crush on the chief of police since the day they met. She is being targeted by ruthless people in another county. Can Gray, the hero, keep her safe without falling in love, or has he already fallen? Break My Fall kept me turning the pages with its suspense, great characters, and sweet romance. I look forward to the next book in the series! *I was given a copy of this book by the publisher, and this is my honest opinion.*

I very much enjoyed this book. A romance with suspense involving a reluctant man and a woman who loves him. Someone is apparently trying to kill her and he is trying to protect her without getting g too close because of her past. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes both. I was given this book to review.

Fans of suspense will enjoy this second book in the Gossamer Fall series. Filled lots of action, family drama and romance, this novel has something for everyone. Meredith is such a positive, warm and giving person. Gray has lots of personal baggage but works to overcome his issues. Lots of characters to sort through and remember was my only issue with this enjoyable story.

Break My Fall by Lynn H. Blackburn is the second book in her Gossamer Falls series. This are a crazy-good bunch of stories. I love the Quinn family and all of the different characters. The action and mystery throughout each tale are topnotch who-dun-it and will keep you turning the pages. I just love these books!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. The opinions expressed are my own.

Break My Fall is the newest book by Christian fiction author, Lynn H. Blackburn. It is book 2 in the Gossamer Falls series. While Break My Fall could stand alone, I think a reader new to the series would benefit from reading the first book, Never Fall Again. It will help you know the characters a bit and their backgrounds.
There are a lot of characters! It can be hard to keep track of who's with who. The story centers around Meredith Quinn and her crazy but lovable family. Meredith lives in Gossamer Falls, North Carolina, and commutes to nearby towns in her dental office converted van. This way she is able to reach poor and elderly patients who need a dentist but have no access to care. But something is rotten in Denmark! Strange things begin to happen to Meredith that become increasingly deadly. Police Chief Grayson Ward has been carefully observing Meredith for some time and loves everything about her, even though he has closed off his heart to love and relationships. As he struggles to keep Meredith safe, Grayson must tear down his carefully built walls and let go of the fear that has imprisoned him for too long.
I enjoyed reading Break My Fall. It has a suspenseful plot line, likable characters, and a Christian theme of letting go and trusting God though
challenging trials. I would recommend any fans of Lynette Eason or Dani Pettrey to read this book!

“Break My Fall” was a different type of romantic suspense. The villian was apparent pretty much from the beginning leaving more time to dig into the main characters, their background and motivations.
I liked how the author made Gray multiracial without making it a big deal, a stereotype, or the focus of his character. It was seamlessly written into the story.
This book has everything I love—action, romance, family—blended into a cohesive and absolutely fabulous story. Each character had something to overcome and something to give allowing the reader to connect with them.
Meredith is someone I could be friends with. Her heart to serve others draws the reader into her life and invests them in the outcome. Her family is one I would happily adopt. The closeness, protectiveness, and love showcase the advantages of a large close knit family.
This is definitely a book I would read again.
I was given a copy courtesy of Revell through NetGalley. This is my honest opinion of the book.

I really enjoyed this Christian romantic suspense. I’ve read the other books in and connected to this series and I love the interactions and dynamics between the two large family factions and between them all. This is a cousin-who-is-like-a-brother’s best friend romance. Our hero is wrapped up in the pains of his past. As police chief, he is very much involved when things go wrong for our altruistic dentist heroine. Through danger and trials, they both come together and have issues. He needs to overcome his past for them to have a future. I’m really excited for the next book in this series!

This is a suspenseful story that centers around Meredith and Gray. Meredith has loved Gray for many years. Gray doesn't want to open himself up to love. All the women in his life that he has loved have died. Meredith is a dentist who also holds a clinic once a month in a neighboring town to help those in need. This town has a bad reputation for drugs and other shady dealings. Unknown to Meredith, when she helps a local woman that is being abused, she has put her life in danger. With Gray being the chief of police, he tries his best to protect her. He starts to let the walls down and open himself up to love with Meredith. Will they be able to escape from the ones that are trying to kill them and have their own "happily ever after"? I received a complimentary copy of this book but the opinions expressed are my own. #breakmyfall #revell #netgalley

How far will you go to do the right thing when everyone else looks the other way?
Lynn H. Blackburn’s Break My Fall delivers a story so gripping, I could practically hear the whir of a dental drill and the static of a police radio in the background. Dr. Meredith Quinn’s bighearted (and bullheaded) mission to serve the underserved is a force of nature all its own, but when she helps the helpless, she becomes a target. Enter Police Chief Grayson Ward—stone-faced, battle-worn, and doing his best to pretend his heart isn’t on the line.
This book gave me everything I wanted and more—high stakes, deep faith, and a love story that hits like a two-ton truck. Meredith, with her undeniable compassion and that streak of stubbornness a mile wide, is exactly the kind of heroine I love to root for. Gray? Oh, Gray. The man’s got walls higher than the Blue Ridge Mountains, but when it comes to Meredith, every last one of them is bound to crumble. And let me tell you, the process is spectacular.
The faith thread? Unshakable. Gray’s struggle to align his will with God’s hit deep: “He’d thought his plans were in line with God’s will for his life. But were they? Or had he made plans and then assumed God was on board?” That question doesn’t just shape the story—it’s one of those soul-searchers that lingers long after the last page.
Blackburn keeps the tension so tight, you might need a night guard to keep from grinding your teeth. But in between the danger and antics, there’s romance, humor, warmth, and a reminder that forgiveness doesn’t erase consequences, but it does set us free.
Gossamer Falls has me hooked, and Break My Fall just cemented my permanent residency.
Highly, highly recommend—just don’t blame me when you’re up way past bedtime reading ‘one more chapter.’
I received a digital ARC of this book from the author, publisher, and NetGalley. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. This is my honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on writing and story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.

“I want to rebuild the walls, but I want to build them with you. I want to build them around us, together. I want the walls to protect what we’re building together.”
Such a charming quote from Lynn Blackburn’s Break My Fall.
Alright, allow me to apologize for my review in advance. Because the story was so amazing and I felt such a connection to the Quinns, (as always) my review will be unorthodoxed. Starting now…
Despite Meredith and Gray already knowing each other for over a year, this first chapter meet-cute was adorable. I don’t care, that they were already friends LOL. I love the term MEET CUTE and the author did the moment justice!
Meredith has such a heart of gold. The way her career propelled the plot is a unique twist! She’s a character that anyone can root for and hug even when she wanted to slug Gray. Hence the slow burn awesomeness! Gray is in for a lifetime of love. After the past he’s led, he has found his perfect match. Okay, enough on them because I won’t spoil the plot.
PAHLEEZZZ gimme Mo’s story.
This was such an enjoyable read.
Fans of the following will enjoy Break My Fall: Christian contemporary, inspirational romance, interracial, mystery, small town romances, family sagas, best friend’s sibling, slow burn, some mild suspense/ action scenes, romcom. Lastly, the story very lightly gleans into human trafficking (drugs etc).
I was given a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher. All words are my own.
