Eve and Foster had a whirlwind romance and wedding five years ago. Three months after the wedding Eve left him, returned to her hometown Portland and filed for divorce. Since then they had no contact. Now Foster has had a severe motorcycle accident and happens to be brought into the E.R. where Eve works. As she learns that she is still his emergency contact and he is not able to travel she decides to nurse him back to health - for old times sake. Of course old feelings reappear but the problems that made their marriage fail the first time are still the same...
This book is really a slow-burn romance, the characters spend a lot of time together and reminisce about their love story but they only kiss twice. While both characters are likable enough I couldn't really relate to their love story and I felt the problems they had were solved rather easily in the end. Also I felt like there was not really anything happening in the book so while it was an okay book it really wasn't a must-read for me.

This is a delightful second-chance romance that truly captivates the reader. Eve and Guy are a charming couple whose chemistry is apparent from the start. Their journey is filled with relatable experiences and emotions that many can connect with. As I delved deeper into their story, I found myself fully engaged with their struggles and triumphs. It was heartwarming to witness their growth as individuals and as a couple, making their eventual reunion all the more rewarding. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know both characters and was invested in their development throughout the narrative.

Cute store of Eve and Foster who got married after knowing each other for 30 days but end up divorcing. Then he comes into her ER and she is still his emergency contact, she decided to take care of him! It’s a will they won’t they story. They still love each other but with all the hurt they experienced they don’t know if it’s a good idea to give love a second chance.

I really liked this book, it was a good pace and I enjoyed all the characters (Phil is amazing!) There is no spice in this book but you can feel the tension and love that the two characters have.

Thank you NetGalley and Aimee Brown for the opportunity to read this!

While this was a cute book, I was not totally in love with it. It was a quick, fun, and easy read with likable characters. Eve and Foster have great chemistry from the very beginning. It was well-written and had a natural flow of events. The book was too cheesy for my taste, such as how she curses. I understand it's her character, but it seemed a little cringey after a while.

Read if you like:

Still The One, by Aimee Brown, is a slow-burn romance with more heart than spice. Is it predictable? Of course. But, getting there is half the fun. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with the ARC ebook I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.

I gave this a really good shot but it's a DNF @ 50% for me. Everything felt forced and I did not connect with any of the characters.

I loved the blurb and I loved the story. However, this slow burn was at a snail's pace. I love a will they or won't they but this one just took forever. I like the banter and the characters as well.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this arc.

I thought this was a sweet story, but unfortunately, I didn't love it. I thought it was just okay. I didn't hate it, but I probably wouldn't recommend to my friends. I had a difficult time getting into it originally. 3 stars! Thank you, NetGalley for my ARC!

I really enjoyed this book! The flashbacks were nicely done and not over used. It was a great second chance romance.

3.5. This story started out well, with Eve thrown into a situation with her ex in the Emergency Room. It made you feel for her character and his. But as the story progressed, it just took too long to have anything resolved...so much back and forth. So many things unspoken. Also, I didn't really didn't feel that he was in the wrong with the break up, which was how it was presented. That part of the conflict felt very surface level...I would've liked that part more fleshed out so that we could feel her heartbreak and become more invested and immersed with the characters. All in all, a cute easy read. Thanks to netgalley for the copy.

If you’re looking for a will-they, won’t-they romance with incredible chemistry, delightful angst, and that perfect second-chance vibe, this book delivers in every way! Eve and Foster's love story is full of all the sizzling tension and emotional depth you want from exes with unfinished business, and the way it unfolds kept me hooked from page one.

After a whirlwind marriage that ended five years ago, Eve finds herself back at Foster’s side when he needs her most. She’s still his next of kin (oops, guess he never got around to fixing that), and even though she’s told herself she’s moved on, those blue eyes make it clear she’s not quite over him. Cue the two of them in close quarters as Foster recovers in her one-bedroom apartment, where old feelings resurface and all those unresolved issues hit hard. Their journey from guarded exes to opening their hearts again is filled with delicious slow-burn tension, and let’s just say the caretaking angle adds a whole new layer of warmth and intimacy to their story.

The chemistry? Off the charts. It’s one of those romances where you can feel the electricity with every glance and touch, and the angst is just enough to make that eventual reunion all the sweeter. The side characters are a total riot too, adding humor and charm without ever stealing the spotlight. Honestly, this book ticks all the boxes for me—caretaking, emotional growth, and a love story that feels both hard-won and incredibly rewarding.

A must-read if you’re a fan of Emily Henry, second chances, and the kind of slow-burn romance that leaves you grinning, swooning, and wanting more.

I thought the book was a nice easy read. It was interesting to see how the characters lives crossed again. The ending was predictable, you just didn't know how they were going to get there! I do wish there was more to the story at the end.

They connected in a whirlwind romance faster than anyone could predict they ended up married and so in love. Things were so good until they weren’t. Things ended just as quickly as they started and she walked out of his life leaving nothing but a note. Five years later he crashes into her ER and she literally helps save his life. Not only that, but she’s still listed as his emergency contact and somehow gets roped into letting him stay with her as he recovers. Will sparks fly as Evie and Foster reconnect and face their past or with they combust?

If you are looking for a sweet and easy read this is the one for you.

Eve and Foster fell in love quickly and were briefly married before life got in the way.
Fast forward to 5 years later, Eve is working as a trauma nurse in the ER and Foster comes in as a patient in her trauma room. They have spoken in 5 years and now he is laying there horribly injured. The characters were both very lovable and I was cheering them both on the entire journey. Read this book to see what happens.

I would recommend this read to my friends and followers.

Ok I’m in my motorcycle phase again.

(FYI this is a close door romance)

This book is a SLOW BURN. While there's yearning and sexy banter, nothing physical happens between them until the very end.

The characters are quite likeable. Both have a lot of baggage from their first attempt at a relationship, but they genuinely try to see each other for who they are in the present time and not who they were.
One thing that I wasn’t a fan of was the “accent” and it definitely pulled me out of enjoying this book as much as I could

Still the One
Written by: Aimee Brown
Pub Date: Nov. 26th, 2024

Still the One was a sweet second-chance romance about a couple reconnecting after five years. Eve Cassidy didn't expect to see her ex-husband, Guy Foster, on what would have been their fifth wedding anniversary. She was shocked when he showed up as a patient in a trauma room at the hospital where she is a trauma nurse. He was brought in with many injuries from a crash during an FMX competition. When Foster needs to stay locally to recover, Eve agrees to have him stay with her and help him recover. They quickly learn that their connection is still alive and Foster is holding onto a secret that Eve never would have expected.

I enjoyed the story about Eve and Foster and how somethings are just meant to be!

DNF 14% I’m struggling! I’m not finding this story captivating and I don’t like the two main characters. Life is too short and my TBR shelf is exploding. Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood books for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
