This was awesome! I can't believe I got all of these books together to read. Theo Baxter is a great author if you enjoy psychological thrillers. These were well-paced and kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved them all.

The Widow's Secret - 4 star
Theo Baxter became a favourite of mine with quick, witty, easy to go through books. Although the book has been out for a couple of years, when I saw the box set available on Netgalley I was so excited to go through his stories. Every story has a charm to it, with downright ugly villains and twists that I couldn't predict. Leona suddenly loses her husband on a hike celebrating their anniversary and is quickly caught in a web of secrets, lies and deceit. Nicely crafted and fast-paced, it is a story of family betrayal and mistrust.

The scorned wife - 5 star
The story pulled me in from the beginning, and just when I thought the "story" was coming to an end, everything got flipped on its head, and the thrill began! Much of the plot was a bit unbelievable, but I let Theo tell me what was going on, and it didn't disappoint—it kept me entertained until the end. Many thanks to the author and Netgalley for a copy for an honest review.

It's your turn now - 4 star
Strangers on a train meets Strangers in a bookshop :) a thrilling story that kept me engaged until the end. I liked the spin Theo put on the famous plot. Many thanks to the author and Negalley for a copy for an honest review.

The Stepfather - 4 star
Theo does it again!! I could see this as a full-on documentary with me yelling at the FMC for her idiotic decisions and for having blinders on. When you really hope for a doomed relationship to work, you miss most of the red flags and start excusing behaviour that should never be excused... sound familiar? Madelyne's internal monologue was infuriating at times, but it played a significant role in the overall story. Many thanks to the author and Netgalley for making the book set available for an honest review.

These stories were messed UP! Twisted and mentally exhausting! I loved them. Well, all except the last one. That one I couldn’t read anything disturbing about children. But the first 3 i loved. They made me uncomfortable and nervous. Had me on edge and anxious but enthralled to the very end. Even though the kid thing for me personally was bothersome I still enjoyed them all.

Excellent book. I only read the first and last books the other two I had already read. Love this author. He writes fantastic psychological thrillers. My favorite was the widows secret.

Didn’t get through all 4. Definitely wasn’t enough time to finish them all.

The stepfather - overall like it. Started a bit slow. The characters were interesting. The ending definitely picked up and was somewhat surprising.

Thank you NetGalley for the copy. I wish I was able to get through them all.

This was an amazing 4 book collection that has left me wanting to read more psychological thrillers, more specifically written by Theo Baxter. I read this collection as an ARC & by then end of each book I was dying to see where the following one would take me, the only complaint I have is that there wasn’t more stories to read!

The stories included quite well developed characters & storylines that easily have you losing track of time due to being so engrossed.

I really enjoyed getting my teeth into the box set read, and once again it proofed why Theo Baxter is one of my ultimate favorite authors! Really loved the reads, and will continue reading more of him in future.

The Theo Baxter Psychological Thriller Box Set includes the four following titles: “The Stepfather”, “It’s Your Turn Now”, “The Scorned Wife”, and “The Widow’s Secret”. I was excited to read this series as it’s the first time I’ve been given four books for the ‘price’ of one; an excellent deal if there ever was one! To make matters better I was also impressed with just how great they were! The writing was excellent in each novel, the characters and their stories so thoroughly developed, I liked it a lot. Each story, while related to one another didn’t feel as if it copied itself, and was each their own thing while being so connected. Each character’s personality felt painstakingly crafted to be their own person. It definitely delivered what was promised, as it is indeed psychologically thrilling and sustained that feeling throughout all four of the included works. I’ll go ahead and say here I recommend it to anyone who’s a fan of the genre, whether you’re new to it or you’ve been reading tales such as these for a while. The twists and turns aren’t the most surprising, but it’s still enjoyable all the same. I actually couldn’t put it down for long as I really was pressed to keep going right up to the end. This actually gave me some Frieda McFadden vibes, as I always feel that way with her books and can never just stop reading until I’ve finished the story on offer. After reading how others felt online I can tell I’m not the only one who felt this way, but for me I can say it comes with the highest praise as Frieda Mcfadden is an absolute favorite of mine. I say that, but I don’t want you to get confused; Theo’s writing is all his own and decidedly different, it just gave me the same feeling as it had such a great continuous flow and wonderfully fast pace. If you’re looking for a relatively new author, Theo Baxter is an excellent choice. I noticed beyond this set he has one other novel out now and I fully intend to gobble it up too. Normally I would give a book like this 4 out of 5 stars, but since it’s a four book set instead of just the one, I’ll give it an extra half a star and round the whole thing up to 5 out of 5 stars! Excellent set, thank you so much, Theo!

The Psychological Thriller Box Set by Theo Baxter is a thrilling collection that offers an intriguing mix of suspense, twists, and mind-bending mysteries. Comprising several interconnected stories, each novel in the box set delves into the darker aspects of the human psyche, with characters trapped in complex, high-stakes situations that keep you guessing until the very end.

Baxter’s writing is sharp and engaging, with an ability to build suspense and tension that will have you hooked from the first page. The characters are multi-dimensional, flawed, and relatable, each carrying emotional baggage that adds depth to their actions and decisions. The way Baxter manipulates their motivations and relationships creates a constant sense of unease, making it difficult to predict who can be trusted and what will happen next.

The pacing throughout the box set is well-managed, with each story unfolding at a steady pace and keeping readers on edge. The twists and turns are satisfying, and while some are more predictable than others, there’s always a sense of mystery that keeps you reading. Baxter excels at creating atmospheres of tension, and the sense of impending danger is always present, whether it’s psychological manipulation, betrayal, or the threat of violence.

While the box set is undeniably entertaining and full of suspense, there are moments where the plots feel somewhat formulaic, and the resolutions can sometimes be a bit too neat or expected. Some of the characters and scenarios could have been explored in greater depth to make the emotional stakes even higher, and at times, the pacing feels a little rushed toward the endings.

Overall, the Psychological Thriller Box Set is a solid 4/5 star read. It’s an excellent choice for fans of the genre who enjoy quick, suspenseful stories with plenty of twists. Theo Baxter demonstrates a strong understanding of psychological tension and delivers a collection of engaging, fast-paced thrillers. While it may not always break new ground, the box set is a satisfying, gripping read that will keep you entertained and guessing until the very last page. I was given an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my review.

As a new fan of this author, I found this box set riveting. I throughly enjoy Baxter's writing style, pace and emotional depth. Having the ability to leave the reader gasping out loud at twists and turns and then laughing at the stupidity of some of the charecters.

Whilst some parts of the individual stories left me either desperate for more or minorly lacking in places overall this was a brilliant box set.

These were a little odd. Worth the time to read. But not my favorites. I’d probably try out a few more books by this author.

I recently read my first Theo Baxter book so when I saw this Box Set available, I jumped at it. My favorite here is It’s Your Turn Now. I love a new take on a classic and that’s what we had here. Second would be The Scorned Wife. That one hit a little close to home. The Step Father will introduce you to one of the world’s worst mothers. The Widow’s Secret was last on the list, thought still a good, quick read. Theo Baxter’s characters do feel a little flat sometimes but the stories carry along nicely and have satisfying conclusions.
