This book made me sad - because I got 76% through and it was removed from NetGalley (Real Life got in the way)! I was absolutely loving it and will be purchasing the paperback so that I can see how things resolve (or not).
I wasn't sure at first if this would be my thing, as Suddenly Zombies! But then the story began to unfold, the characters genuinely drew me in and I was invested.
The art is simple but beautiful, atmospheric and conveying so much emotion in just a few strokes. I appreciated the moral ups and downs within a very twisted society - in a sense, it reminded me of The Crow (the original comic), but from a uniquely female perspective.
A very pleasant surprise of a random NetGalley pick. Thankyou for the time spent in this world.

The art style used in this graphic novel is super beautiful! And the story itself is very intriguing dark and makes you want to keep reading more.
Will definitely pick up future volumes!

Gumaa is a fantastic graphic novel because it has it all. Stunning illustrations and drawings as well as a strong storyline. The story is fantastic and while we go through a lot of different timelines the pacing, artwork and text all keep things as tidy as can be and it shouldn’t be an issue with any comic fans to keep up.
There is a lot of darkness in this comic in the terms of murder, drugs and so much more. We get to see the good and bad side of not just heaven and hell but humanity as well. A fantastic story with art and text to match this is a must read for any supernatural comic fan.
As always thank you to Titan Books and Netgalley for the copy to review. My review is always honest, truthful and freely given.

This is an excellent visual feast, with a satisfyingly length of story. The reader is stopped straight in, but there is a good scene setting skilfully placed within the presented story. I really liked the artwork style which fitted the text superbly. I was suitably satisfied at the end. But There also seems to more comics in the series already available for readers to enjoy. Thank you to Titan Books and NetGalley for the comic ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.
