A free copy of this book was provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I have to admit that I had read this book years ago prior to requesting it from NetGalley but one of the reasons I requested it again is because I absolutely love this story.
Fern, a young girl, saves a tiny pig Wilbur and when he is forced to move out of the warmth of the house, he is sent to live in the barn where he makes friends with a spider who also lives there, Charlotte. When Wilbur may be set for the chop, Charlotte uses her web weaving skills to save Wilbur from a terrible fate.
So I love this story. Love love love. It's such a gorgeous story about friendship and it's a wonderful way to introduce the workings of a farm and the lives of farmyard animals to young readers. The characters are warm and empathetic and the way that Charlotte saves Wilbur is funny and clever. The only part that I don't like is the [spoiler] tearjerker ending.
A wonderful warm story for everyone. 5 stars.

I loved this book as a child. I reread it and it still entertained me. This is what I consider a classic story.

I loved Charlotte’s Web when I was a kid and I love it even more now! These characters never get old and teach so many life’s lessons to kids.
I have always recommend for 3rd and 4th grade readers just getting in to stories and chapter books.
Fun read and just keeps getting better each time I pick it up!
