Abby Jimenez’s writing brings me so much joy 🥹
At first I was a little unsure about this storyline, and I found it a tiny bit repetitive at times, BUT I was laughing, I was crying, I was hurting and healing with the characters, and I couldn’t stop reading. So ultimately it couldn’t not be 5 stars. I had a fun time and I’m so sad that it is over.
There are some deep topics in this book, but still it was the perfect rom-com.
I wish there were more Easter eggs and character crossovers from her other books! Was there and I just missed them? I only picked up on one 🤔

She’s done it again!! Abby’s new book is yet another amazing story that promises to suck you in from the first chapter and take you on a rollercoaster of emotions that will leave you thinking about this story for weeks if not months.
I’m obsessed with Sam and Xavier! Sam was so so strong. She had to deal with countless setbacks (and huge ones at that) throughout this book but still, she never gave up. She kept doing the hard work, she fought for herself and for her family, even when many people would have given up or been a little bit selfish. As with most other men written by Abby, Xavier was just about perfect. He was incredibly dreamy, always said the right thing and knew what to do to make things better and genuinely would do anything to see Sam happy and be with her. The way this man almost killer himself to be able to spent time with her? Adorable!!
They were insane together. And it wasn’t even about their chemistry (though they did have plenty of that) - it was mostly about their connection. Their meeting was hilarious and their first date was just the sweetest thing. It felt like they’d known each other their whole lives and as much as letting each other go would be the easiest (and perhaps most logical) decision at times, they just couldn’t do it. They truly were soulmates and meant to be together and though the circumstances definitely weren’t the best and it seemed like fate was playing a huge joke on them they eventually got there in the end.
In addition to the 5-star romance, a big component of this book is about Sam’s mom and her family becoming carers for her as her dementia progresses. I think this might be the first time I read a romance where an MC is a carers and though I didn’t doubt this is an incredibly tough job, I think this book did a great job portraying that. It really showed the impact it can have on people and their families and though it was heartbreaking to read, it was really enlightening and interesting.
Overall, another banger from Abby Jimenez! You won’t want to miss it.
A massive massive thank you to Little, Brown Book Group and Netgalley for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to netgalley, the author and the publisher for the advance copy to read.
I am a huge Abby Jimenez fan, having read all her other work, and say you'll remember me is just is as wonderful as her previous books.
I really enjoy her style of writing and find it extremely captivating. Her stories are always so much more than just romance, often intertwined in the characters are lots of real life issues. I also really like that they often include mental health issues and neuro diversity, shining a light on their positive traits as well as their negative ones.
This story was super sweet, I loved the love between the two main characters, the challenges they faced and how they overcame them.
Another 5 star read.

I have no idea where to start with reviewing this book! It was such an emotional journey from start to finish. I smiled, I laughed, I cried and I was left wanting more!
This is such a realistic love story and it had such a nostalgic feel to it. Abby covered some profound and heartbreaking topics and really delved deep into the complexities of caring for a relative with dementia as well as the life long emotional struggles of recovering from abusive parents.
The story felt so real and that’s because I’m a way it was. Having personal and professional experience with dementia, the way Abby interlaced lots of the struggles people don’t even consider, felt raw and real and ripped my chest clean open. I think this book will make so many people feel seen and validated and that is such an amazing gift to give in a book!
Both the characters were multifaceted, likeable and relatable. The obstinate they had to overcome to be together made my heart ache but in the best way. I felt put back together in the end and it felt like the saying ‘you don’t get flowers without a little rain’. The HEA hit so much different and I felt so happy to see them reach it because all they had been through to get there. Truly NO ONE deserves it like them!
Other things I just LOVED in this book:
-The MMC is a vet and both the characters love for animals
-Multiple ACOTAR references

Maybe the hype around the author had set my expectations too high but this insta love story did not work for me. I found the main leads a bit unreal like I’m all for trauma tropes but you need to tackle it in a specific way… I mean both of them needed therapy bad. Also, the fmc was rude and cringe… I mean you don’t go out on a date with a person if you are moving away forever the very next day without telling them about it.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this e-arc!
I devoured this book. I loved it entirely and in its entirety. I laughed, cried, laughed again. This book was everything. It dealt with some very deep topics so I would check the triggers warnings first.
The way the characters interacted from the get go. I could never have imaged the way Abby Jiminez’s writing would’ve made me feel. This is now my 2nd favourite book of hers. Its immense. It’s bold. It’s also proving that things can work and you can do everything you’ve ever wanted. That things come back full circle.
This is a 5 star book for me! Maybe even 6 if I keep thinking about it and it was my first read in 2025!

Abby Jimenez has quickly become an auto buy author for me and I'm glad to say this book is another 5 star read. As usual Abby writes such fun and charismatic characters that even though they are tackling more difficult background topics the hope and love shines through making it such an enjoyable read. This book covers some heavy topics (check TW) but is done so in a realistic and sensitive way. Whilst this was very emotional in places the banter and humour throughout had me giggling and kicking my feet. Another brilliant book by Abby Jimenez!

Is there a sexier romcom hero than a man who saves animals? I don't think so. Despite his frosty exterior, I was obsessed with Xavier from the very first page. After the perfect first date with Samantha, circumstance and distance forces them apart, but can true love bring them back together?
I'm a huge Abby Jiminez fan and jumped at the chance to read Say You'll Remember Me early, and I absolutely loved it! I can't wait till the book is out so I can gift it to everyone I know!
Thanks NetGalley for an advanced copy.

What a way to finish 2024! I received an ARC for this book so naturally I feel like god’s favourite right now, I’m actually still in shock. This book broke my heart then put it back together again. Abby creates characters with such depth, maturity and passion. This book was devastating and realistic in so many ways yet delivered the best humour, characters and the best love story.
My annotations for this book are insane. Xavier truly is a threat to feminism and is the definition of if he wanted to, he would. If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would.
Thank you Abby for bringing this masterpiece into my life. Also, thank you for Little Brown Book Group UK for this ARC !!!!!

Authors books are like a warm hug, they equally balance light and darkness, hope and despair like a warm cup of tea. Author’s writing and warm characters will pull you in and won’t let you go until the end. This was such an emotional read. It navigates love, relationship, family bonds, heartbreaking revelations and highs and lows. I didn’t like Xavier’s character in the beginning then slowly I started liking him. Author has mentioned one of my favourite characters. I highly recommend this book.
Thanks to the Publisher.

dnf @ 54% the writing was okay but I just couldn’t connect with anything. It was giving insta love and already getting repetitive so I won’t be finishing.
thank you NetGalley for the arc.

Abby Jimenez is one of my go to authors - her writing style is an absolute favourite. For me, she never fails and this was another absolutely wonderful 5 star read from me - she never disappoints.
This was such a wonderful book that tactfully handed some more hard hitting topics. Navigating a long distance relationship, bonds with your family, debilitating and heartbreaking diseases and family trauma. It was such a wonderful story though showing strong communication and a healthy relationship. Some sad, heartbreaking moments but a lot of laugh out loud ones too.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Abby Jimenez has always been one of my go-to authors, and I went into this one with high expectations. While it had those classic Abby elements—family struggles, emotional depth, and plenty of heart—it just didn’t hit the same way for me. Don’t get me wrong, there were moments that made me quite emotional (because let’s be real, Abby’s writing always does that), but the romance was unfortunately a little more cliché than I was hoping for. the twists felt predictable, and some character dynamics didn’t feel as fresh as her other books. That being said, if you love the comfort of a heartfelt romance and enjoy a touch of the familiar, you may still love this book!

Abby Jimenez is one of my favorite authors, but I'm definitely not biased when I say that I absolutely adored this book. I did not expect to love it as much as I did.
What would you do if you met someone you really clicked with, shared an amazing date with BUT they're moving to the other side of the country the very next day?
Samantha walks into Xavier's clinic with a kitten in her bra who is missing a butthole. Meet cute, am I right? Xavier tells her (in a very asshole-ish way) that it's nearly impossible to save the little kitty from complications that would lead to its ultimate. A couple of weeks later she comes back with a very healthy kitten to a very apologetic Xavier, who asks Samantha on a date. And they go on the best date they've ever had They don't want the night to end, but it has to. Samantha is moving back home to California. Her mother has been diagnosed with dementia and it's progressively getting worse (remember when Emma in JFTS finds a disoriented lady at the bus stop? That's Samantha's mother). Samantha and her family refuse to put her mom in care and decide to take turns looking after her full-time.
But Xavier refuses to forget this woman or let her getaway. So he makes it to California and they have unforgettable time together. Xavier keeps looking for reasons to just go and see her. He's even considering the move, but it isn't possible given his situation with the clinic. And the budget is tight on both ends. Long distance is definitely doable. But it's also very hard.
I'm a sucker for acts of service, and this man is the literal embodiment of it. He REFUSES to consider not seeing Samantha even an option. He overworks himself into complete and utter exhaustion but still makes his way to her. Ladies, if he wanted to, HE WOULD. This grumpy VILF will fix you, I'm not joking. Even though he comes from a very dysfunctional family, the way he makes him with Samantha's family is so heartwarming.
The whole dementia situation was utterly heartbreaking to read and I cried on so many occasions. As a firsthand witness to a similar situation, it felt very personal. Very raw and emotional. Abby did an amazing job showing it as real as it could get.
I loved the plot, loved the characters, loved the writing, and also the humour thrown in between to keep the theme from getting too heavy. It is more than just a romance book.
I highly recommend reading this book if you want an emotional read that will also make you laugh at all the right times. Trust me.
Thank you so much for the ARC @NetGalley @LittleBrownBookGroup

so incredibly disappointed with this one :( i was so excited for it but i dnf’ed at 40%. the insta love was just not for me at all it didn’t feel like abby jimenez to me :(

Another classic from Abby, I laughed, I cried, I had the time of my life.Another classic from Abby, I laughed, I cried, I had the time of my life.

hm I'm a little disappointed ngl with say you'll remember me, as just for the summer was one of my favourite books of 2024...
unfortunately it wasn't what I expected for a couple of reasons,
firstly the insta-love trope was so heavy in this, I couldn't get on board with Xavier and Sam's relationship, it felt forced and they lacked chemistry throughout the book
in the start of the book Sam literally says to Xavier, we can't do this, we're too far away for a proper relationship and I've got my sick mother to care for and he genuinely doesn't even listen to her and forces her on another date???? that's such weird behaviour!
the tiktok references and other references to pop culture made me wince. and the mustard jokes weren't funny, like genuinely in real life, if a company made those kind of posts, they'd be branded as cringey...
"he had imprinted on me"?????? they'd spent 12+ hours together n this is what Sam was thinking already
the long distance frustrated me, and I understand it's difficult but for Xavier to constantly be travelling just to see her and leaving his practice was quite irresponsible.
the ending was too convenient, and Xaviers grand gesture had me rolling my eyes
the dementia plotline was handled incredibly well and I enjoyed reading the family dynamic, it felt very real and raw
all in all, the writing was fine but just the plot/characters just didn't do it for me unfortunately :(

Abby Jimenez never disappoints, and her books just get better and better. I didn't want this book to end. The connection this couple has transcended miles and lifes complexities. Abbys depiction of being a caregiver for a loved one and watching their battles was so well written. If you have never read any of Abby's books, I highly recommend them. Nothing compares to them. 5 star reads every single time.

Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group for this ARC.
Samantha works in marketing for a mustard brand in Minnesota and tall and frowny Xavier is a vet with his own practice. They meet over an impossibly cute stray cat that has an unusual and costly medical problem. They have one perfect date that mainly takes place in a locked escape room and then Sam is forced to move miles away. Their relationship has no future - and yet they both can't forget each other.
The story is told in alternating dual POV, so both Samantha and Xavier get their say. Both have baggage due to their parents. Xavier's parents are abusers, emotionally as well as physically, and Samantha has to move back home to California due to her mother's deteriorating health condition.
This book nearly broke me. There are two big topics that I have personal experience with: dementia and long-distance relationships. Both are described incredibly realistically and both suck. Especially caring for someone with dementia is exhausting and heartbreaking and you can only really appreciate it once you've done it yourself and you realise it's not just about memory loss. For some people, just reading about it will be too much, as well as learning about those caricature villains that are Xavier's parents. The relationships within Samantha's family are a bit more complex and revolve around how to best care for her mother.
Abby Jimenez' books seem to have many similarities to each other. They all deal with difficult topics, there is always a cute pet or two with a ridiculous name, a bearded man, the desire to have children, big feelings that border on obsession, and a couple of mentions of Nadia Cakes, the author's own business. There is always one apparent reason why two people who are incredibly perfect for each other can't be together. This time it is "we live too far from each other and we can't move, at all, ever". I get it, long distance is frustrating, tiring and expensive, but it usually has an end date.
The book is eminently readable and the big feelings will have many readers swoon, although everyone's problems seem to get solved a little too neatly and quickly at the end, but I adored lovely Dr Hank and his selflessness. Abby Jimenez means quality, and even though I would have liked a little less dementia drama I thoroughly enjoyed this and read it in one sitting. Also, the cover is utterly gorgeous.
"Love is the brightest color in a gray world."

Abby Jimenez has done it again. Is she now one of my auto-buy authors going into 2025? Yes, Yes she is.
Say You'll Remember Me gave me all the feels. From the moment that Xavier and Samantha met there was sparks flying, feelings caught and maybe a grumpy MC took a sneaky look at some goods. You knew these two were meant for each other from the moment they met, but alas like all good books it was not meant to be.... or was it?
Samantha works for a company and she does the social media on Instagram, you know the ones that come back with on liners to comments, the ones we all love. She is moving back home to help with her mother who has started to deteriorate with her health and she and her family are pulling in rank to help support her at home. Xavier is the grumpy Vet that she met and made an impression even though he was kinda rude. But sparks sparked and they gave it one night (a date) and at the end, Samantha told Xavier that she was moving and that he had to forget her. But Xavier isn't having any of it and puts himself out there to win Samantha over.
I do love Abby Jimenez, she creates characters that you can 100% see yourself as. It isn't all rainbows, unicorns and sparkles, they have lives and are working hard too reach their own dreams. Did this book make me tear up a little, yes it did. It made me think of my own experiences with what Samantha is going through and I think that is why the book impacted me more than other romances.
There were laugh out loud moment, sad moments and ones of such love you could feel it on the page. I loved every second of reading this book and can't wait for others to read it.
