I loved this book!

I’m so grateful to have been able to read the ARC of one of my most anticipated reads of the year.

The relationship between Xavier and Samantha was to die for and I can only dream of finding something like that one day.
Xavier’s acts of service to Samantha?!! I love how he always knew what to do and how to help with her family despite his past. Like the playlists and how he helped with her mother!?

The plot with Samantha’s family destroyed me in the best way. I would recommend reading the trigger warnings if you do have triggers because this is a major plot in the book and can be triggering to some people.

My only concern with this book was the insta-love however I think that is just my personal preference and I know a lot of people like that trope. I still loved the relationship despite the insta-love so it was easy to overlook.

haven't read but the format is unreadable. It's really hard to understand the text or the speech as the paragraphs are really spaced out. Not impressed as I have contacted the publishing company and they haven't done anything to sort it.

As a reluctant romantic, I struggle to find romance books that are subjectively five star worthy. However this book simultaneously blew me away and drew me in. It was more than just a romance, it was a segment of family, work-life balance, and the power of memory: the things we wish to forget and the things we never want to forget.

Although the coupling in the story was only compatible with their chemistry and literally nothing else, I have never rooted for a couple harder. I was swooning and weeping in multitudes. This book provoked such a strong emotional reaction from me and I am now a hardcore Abby Jimenez fan.

Say You’ll Remember Me
Abby Jimenez

“It was my first alien abduction. You always remember your first.”

Everybody needs their person and their “Come On Eileen”. I loved this whirlwind romance story with hard elements of life thrown in. I adored Xavier and his VILF status. And the parallel between forgetting someone and the undeniable thirst for being remembered by others. To be seen and loved, to which is what makes a life remarkable.

“That there is nothing more beautiful than being a witness to someone’s life. To know them inside and out and be with them through everything, share the same memories. Memories are everything. I want that.”

I loved this book and it’s easy feel good qualities but took a star off for that ending. The whole book you see the crossroads coming and know something’s gotta break… but it’s not the path I’d have chosen, I’ve always been the long game player, not the short sighted person. However conceptually it’s Abby’s book and she can take it wherever she wishes.

“Because most people don’t say what they think. Animals do. They’re transparent. Their body language doesn’t lie. They always tell you the truth if you pay attention. People lie all the time.”

Thank you @hachette
Release date is 1st April.

“Because if you were my wife you would be my world. Everything starts with you and ends with you. Anything else is just the stuff that happens in the middle.”

Rating: 4.5 stars

I love AJ and her writing and this one was just as captivating. There is something about AJ's writing that just keeps me pulled in.

I had to drop a half star because I'm not a fan of insta love. That being said, Xavier and Samantha were complete opposites who ground each other and were perfect for each other. It was refreshing reading a romance novel with long-distance, the struggles the characters faced in their relationship and also outside their relationship. It was poignant, beautiful and hard-hitting at points. I laughed and I was emotional.

Overall, an amazing romance that I think people will absolutely adore.

Okay, so I am not normally a fan of insta love, I usually find it super icky. However, I loved it in this book, the instant connection and chemistry was soooo good, I was so giddy and happy whilst reading it, I simply couldn’t put it down.

Samantha and Xavier were two characters that I instantly liked, they had so much depth and personality as individuals and they just matched so perfectly. I always love the way Abby writes real and honest backstories to the characters she creates and this was no different. They had hardships and challenges, I just loved the way that they supported each other.

The reason I haven’t rated it higher is because the ending felt too rushed, I wanted more from it than a quick wrap up at the last 10%.

Overall this was such a brilliant read, I loved it a lot and will always autobuy Abby’s books.

Thank you Little Brown Group, Piatkus and NetGalley for the arc 💕

Say You'll Remember Me follows Samantha who finds an abandoned kitten who is desperate need of medical attention and Xavier, the grumpy veterinarian who doesn't give Samantha the news that she is hoping for. When Samantha comes back for a follow up visit, Xavier tries to make amends, shooting his shot and asks Samantha out, the only problem is Samantha happens to be leaving in the morning to see her family... and doesn't plan on coming back.

They agree to not do a long distance relationship despite how well their date ended and try to forget about each other. But they soon realise that it's easier said then done. They make plans to try and each other but none of them can truly afford to travel, despite how much Xavier tries by working himself to exhaustion.

While the book follows the romance between Xavier and Samantha, there is also a strong focus on family as well. We get to know Samantha's family and the relationships she has with each of her family members. I especially loved the banter between her and her brother. I also loved reading how well Xavier fits in with them during all of his visits.

However, I did feel like it was a little too much "insta-love" so the romance felt a little rushed and lacked some chemistry. It's not to say that I didn't like these two together but I personally would've maybe liked some more scenes of them two together before Samantha left. You're really telling me they're connection was that deep after just one date? Also I don't know if it's just me but Xavier being described as Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses really threw me off.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Abby Jimenez couldn't write a bad book if she tried! This is once again a beautifully crafted story that brings with it so much of the pain and struggles of life, as well as the moments that bring people together and the love they have for each other. It's a really emotional read (bring the tissues) but one which is balanced out by lots of humour and chemistry which all felt so natural - evidence of Jimenez's fantastic writing skills! I was completely drawn into this from the very first page and struggled to put it down up to the very end. It left me wondering throughout how Samantha and Xavier could possibly fight the universe and win, despite their big love - the kind you see in movies, and that romantics dream of. The characters in this book are complex, and they bring a lot of different personalities to the story. I would have loved to have seen more of Xavier's friends but he did bring lots of cute animals to the party so I can forgive this. This is certainly not an easy read, or a sunshine and rainbows romance, but Abby Jimenez fans won't be expecting that and despite how much she might try to destroy us at times, she has such a way with writing love in all its forms that her books are impossible to resist, and this is no different. The one thing I did feel was that it did get a little slower in the third quarter and I think it would have been more enjoyable for me if we had more of Samantha and Xavier interacting rather than being so overwhelmed with their individual (and joint) struggles.

I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.

Phew… that was an emotional rollercoaster if there ever was one!

Say you’ll remember me follows Samantha who rescues a kitten with some issues… she meets Xavier, a handsome veterinarian who she calls and asshole.

I loved witnessing their love develop so fast and how their personalities bounced off each other. Samantha is sunshine and feisty and Xavier is broody and sweet at the same time.

The heartbreak of her mother’s dementia really struck me where it hurts and my heart broke for her.

I completely empathised with their long distance relationship and how hard it was on them but the ending was so satisfying when they finally got to be together 😍 I really enjoyed this book!

This is my favourite book of Abby’s so far, I couldn’t put it down.
The pining and angst balanced with the all the banter and tender moments is magic.
I was cautious about Dementia being such a big part of the story, having experienced it personally within my own family, but it didn’t upset me in the way I anticipated, I just felt so seen.
This story felt so life affirming, I feel like I’ve come away from with with a more solid understanding of what I means to love and be loved.

Lovely story that was easy to read. It kept me interested throughout and gave me the feel good vibes! Having said that, the intro was a little quick for me. The instant attraction was a bit odd. Xavier, the MMC, was a little too perfect for my liking, despite his rough upbringing - likeable, but unbelievable. I loved the little side stories and I felt they integrated very well. The author clearly had done her research here. Yes, the ending was a bit far fetched, but it’s all fictional. I would recommend the book to all romance lovers. (Though if you are triggered by the topic of Dementia, this book may not be for you.)

I will be leaving a copy of my review on Amazon, once the book is published.

As much as I wanted to love this book, it fell a little flat for me on the romance side.
It started strong and the chemistry was 10/10 but after a while it felt the main characters progressed separately, the fact this was over a year when they could barely see each other was a little perplexing too.
The family aspect and disability side was heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. The family coming together to help and get through everything is what really saved this book, it was well written and thought out. I just wished we had more of the main characters to flesh out their relationship.

Thank you for the arc LBBG

This book was just perfect! I laughed out loud and only cried a little bit. I loved the references to other books, and the topic of this book had the perfect setting. If I could forget this book and read it all over again, I would definitely want to do that. He was perfect! 💖 I loved him so much. Can I have Xavier as my own? 🐶

Say You'll Remember Me tells the story of Xavier and Samantha. Their first meeting is a complete disaster, but they meet again under different circumstances and go on to have an absolutely unforgettable date.

But when Samantha moves 2,000 miles away to help care for her mother with dementia, she asks Xavier to forget her. Thankfully for us, he doesn’t!

I both laughed out loud and cried more than once. There are so many funny moments and memorable side characters. Special shout out for Tristan - all sisters with younger brothers will relate to his and Samantha’s dynamic.

Romance aside, this story also portrays the realities of loving, living with and caring for someone with dementia. This wasn't sugar-coated or swept aside and felt as important to the story as the romantic plot.

In terms of the romance, I was so on board with Xavier and Samantha’s relationship, but understand that the insta-love trope present here might be a bit too much for others.

Overall, this was so addictive and I absolutely flew through it over the course of a day. For me, it beat Part of Your World and Just for the Summer, and was on a par with Yours Truly 💕

Oh man. She never misses does she. Every time I read one of Abby’s books I don’t know how she’ll ever top it, and then the next one comes along. I was dying to read this book when we saw the FMCs cameo in a previous book and it did not disappoint! Brilliant

Abby knows how to write a book that tugs on the heartstrings. I laughed. I cried. I felt everything in between. A heartbreaking love story, not just romantic but also familial. Rooted in the importance of slowing down to make memories, not rushing through life, and quality time.

Xavier being a sexy vet (VILF if you will, literally gets called that in the book), he has so many swoon worthy moments. But the car scene?? Without a doubt the hottest thing he did!! The comments on his viral video has me HOWLING. He was the most selfless, kind man, and was so down bad. He would do ANYTHING for his girl. He proved that over and over again.

The characters were so raw and complex. This book was the perfect mix of emotional and funny. I don’t normally like insta love but the UFO first date, the mustard puns, their commitment to each other and rescuing animals had me. I love that Abby writes so much more than romance in her books, your find yourself thinking about it long after. It was definitely an emotional rollercoaster, but my heart was full by the end.

This is a tale of memories. Creating them, preserving them, holding onto them more tightly than you should. The importance of remembering the mundane everyday things as well as the major events. The pain of discovering someone else’s memory of something is completely different from yours. The realisation that making the memories is worthwhile, even if it seems impossible that everything will work out. And the sheer grief of watching a loved one’s memories slip away.
All of that sounds like a lot, but the author weaves it together with compassion, humour, and a central romance that has you rooting for the protagonists through their seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Xavier and Samantha are both determined characters in their own ways, and once they decide to make a go of things together, their relationship is depicted with realism, just the right amount of drama, and several appearances of ‘Come On Eileen’ (trust me, it works and it’s very funny). Their love is almost matched by Samantha’s love for her family, who are shown warts and all as they grapple with the grim realities of dementia. I honestly think this is the author’s best work yet, and it’s one that I will definitely be remembering.

Abby Jimenez’s Say You’ll Remember Me is a heartfelt romance that combines emotional depth with relatable characters. The story revolves around Dux, a man with a troubled past, and Lillie, a dedicated, kind-hearted woman who believes in second chances. Their relationship blossoms despite their different worlds—Dux, a former delinquent now on probation, and Lillie, a privileged woman who seeks to help others.

The storytelling is heartfelt with a mix of humour and romance into a narrative that deals with themes of redemption, forgiveness and love. It’s a book that left me thinking about the storyline long after I finished it, which always means it’s a good one!

I highly recommend Say You’ll Remember Me to anyone who loves emotional, character-driven romance with a strong message of hope and healing. It’s a touching, feel-good read that’s hard to put down. I think this has to be my favourite Abby Jimenez book so far .
