Every time I finish a book by Abby I think it can never get better than this... and then it does. Say You'll Remember Me might be my new favorite by her. I laughed out loud and also sobbed. The characters and setting are so relatable, I hope everyone reads this one. I will recommend this book until the end of time.

Samantha find an abandoned kitten that is clearly in need of medical care. When she takes the kitten to the Vet she meets the grumpy Veterinarian - Xavier - who informs her that her adorable fluff ball does not have a functioning 🍑💩😣
What can she do other than start a Go Fund me called 'Pooter Needs a Poop Shoot' 😂 and when she gets to return to the grumpy Vet - Xavier shoots his shot and asks Samantha out - the only problem is that it has to happen on that same day as she leaves in the morning.
The date is quite frankly a disaster, which ends in a group hang and then they both get locked up in a Alien escape room by mistake. They are finally freed from the room and it turns out the date was actually quite perfect in the end - there is only one problem <spoiler>Samantha is literally moving across the country in a few hours.
Samantha & Xavier agrees to call it quits whilst they can as they both can't do a long distance relationship as she has to go take care of a family member and he is just getting on his feet with his Vet practice and quitting will financially destroy them.</spoiler>
The story continues with them finding their way back to each other after Xavier decides not to give up on them. In true Abby Jimenez style the book is a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions with comedic moments sprinkled throughout.
Pick this book up if you like:
🐈⬛ Grumpy x Sunshine (only the start of the book)
🐈⬛ Right person, wrong time
🐈⬛ Insta-love (but just a little bit as they come across as soulmates pretty quickly)
🐈⬛ Realistic family dynamics
🐈⬛ Long distance relationship
The book deals with some heavy topics like childhood abuse and care for a parent (Dementia) - so please check the trigger warnings.
Thank you Netgalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love an Abby Jimenez book & this one was no exception. A delightful romantic read about a long distance relationship that explored some more serious themes such as dementia. Brilliant as always & had me hooked

3.5 Stars
My first book by this author, but definitely not my last. A sweet, satisfying and emotional romance that at once manages to make you chuckle and weep at the same time. It touches on some fairly deep topics but handles them sensitively and builds a story around them that is richer for the inclusion. I adored the MCs in this one, a wonderful couple who you really root for throughout, and I was so pleased that the plot wasn’t driven by a huge (stupid) misunderstanding and miscommunication, that so many romance seem to be these days. Spice level is low, love level is high, and there are also multiple cats and dogs, so if this floats your boat then I would recommend picking up this book!

✨4.5 stars✨
This was such an emotional read but I thoroughly enjoyed it! The struggles the characters went through felt realistic and were heart-wrenching but it was all worth it!
I would 100% recommend this book and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!
I received an ARC from the publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

This was such an emotional and heartfelt story. I absolutely adored both the main characters and their story was compelling from the very beginning. I read this entire book in a few hours because I didn’t want to put it down.
Yet another 5 star Jimenez book.

Thank you NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK for the ARC
Heartbreaking and wonderful; I expected nothing less from Abby Jimenez. If there's one thing this author can, its pulling at the heart strings. I love how she seamlessly blends humor, romance and family drama. I've dealt with dementia in my family for years and I could really recognise and appreciate the descriptions. It hurt and it warmed. An amazing romance

Thank you NetGalley for the E-arc in exchange for an honest review.
This book was so good! I expected nothing less from Abby Jimenez, all of her books have the perfect blend of beautiful romance and heart wrenching, tug at your heartstrings situations. She perfectly encapsulated the complex family dynamics when a family member is going through dementia. Such a good read, if I could give it 6 stars I would!

Book Thoughts - Say You'll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez
Though this author has been on my radar for quite some time, this was the first book I read by her and it had me crying my eyes out at 1 am.
The story pulls you in right from the start when you meet Dr Xavier Rush, a veterinarian and Samantha, who brings her little rescue kitten to Dr Rush for examination. Their interaction does not go very well, so when Samantha comes back for a follow up visit with her kitten, Xavier tries to make amends by asking her on a date.
Their first date goes well and neither of them want the night to end, only for Xavier to learn that Samantha is moving away to California the next day, with no plan to return. Her family needs her, so she packs her whole life up to move back home, leaving Xavier in Minnesota, unable to stop thinking of her.
They start making plans to try and see each other again, but neither of them can truly afford to travel up and down very often and the distance and time between visits take their toll on the relationship.
I really don't think I can explain how much I adore Xavier. I literally want to wrap him up in the world's thickest and warmest blanket and keep him safe. He has had to deal with and overcome so much and yet he still willingly gives so much of himself away to others. There is nothing he would not do for those he loves and cares about. He is so caring and considerate and he is honestly just EVERYTHING. *Adds to top of list of book boyfriends*
While this book follows the romance between Xavier and Samantha, there is a very strong focus on family as well. This is something I always love in a book. With Samantha moving back to her family home, we get to know her family really well and see how Xavier fits in with them during visits as well. I really enjoyed learning about Samantha's family - the family dynamic and the relationships they all share with one another really brought the story to life. The banter between her and her brother especially made me laugh.
The second half of this book made me really emotional for various reasons. I think I cried on and off from the 60% mark onwards. One minute I would be crying and the next I would be giggling - truly an emotional rollercoaster and this book really pulls your heartstrings. By the time I got to the epilogue, I was so sad to say goodbye to these characters who crawled into my heart so quickly.
Definitely going to read all of Abby's other books, this was very enjoyable and also really gave me a lot to think about.
Please look up the content warnings before reading.

This was my first ever Abby Jimenez book and it won’t be my last. It was a sweet romance and I liked the way the story came together. I love the way Abby writes and I could feel the sparks flying between the characters.
This was a fun romance. Thank you for allowing me to read it!

Thank you so much to Net Galley for the ARC of this book, I’m truly so greatful 🫶🏻
Let’s start with the positives. I really enjoyed our MMC I think he is definitely dreamy book boyfriend material and also had alot of depth to him. I enjoying the banter and was definitely giggling and kicking my feet throughout this book.
The negatives for me was this is very much “insta-love” so the depth to the romance unfortunately just wasn’t there for me and I didn’t feel much chemistry between the characters. I also found some of the dialogue cringey but that’s just personal preference.
I still absolutely love Abby and her writing but not every book is for everyone and this one just missed the mark for me slightly but SO many people are obsessed with it so don’t take my word for anything, read it yourself and make up your own mind ♥️

Say You’ll Remember Me is so brilliantly funny, bright and empowered and yet incredibly moving novel that balances romance, heartbreak, and hope with remarkable skill. Jimenez delivers her signature wit and chemistry, but what truly sets this book apart is its thoughtful exploration of becoming a carer for her mother and the quiet devastation of dementia and the incredible toll it take on a family. The story captures the exhaustion, the unexpected moments of joy, and the deep, inescapable love that makes it all worthwhile. It’s the kind of book that sneaks up on you, one moment you’re laughing out loud, the next you’re completely wrecked and it lingers long after the final page.

Every book I read by Abby Jiminez seems to get better and better. I love her combination of humour while also dealing with serious and hard-hitting issues. Marian Keyes writing affects me in a similar way.
In Say You’ll Remember Me we meet grumpy vet Xavier who is bowled over when a stray kitten brings ray of sunshine Samantha into his path. Both are unable to stop thinking of each other so agree to go on a date. During the date they realise that they might be perfect for each other. There is just one hitch - Samantha is leaving the next morning to move back to the other side of the country to help care for her sick mother. Deciding it would be better if they forget about each other the two say their goodbyes but forgetting is easier said than done.
Xavier buries himself in work and Samatha’s time and energy is spent helping care for her mother who has dementia, but they can not ignore their feelings. Will they be able to overcome the distance and all the other complications that work to keep them apart?
The grumpy/sunshine trope can feel a bit clichéd in some books, but because we learn what has made the characters like this it suits their personalities and situations perfectly. Abby Jiminez’s writing is so immersive and engaging I sometimes forget I’m reading a novel and feel like I’m catching up with a friend.
The book deals with some very serious topics including child abuse, dementia and grief but it does so with such honesty and sensitivity that I really appreciated the efforts the author had gone to in order to represent these issues.
This was an incredible read that I didn’t want to put down. I read the majority of it on a couple of long train journeys and found myself laughing out loud and fighting to hold back tears.
I highly recommend this book and look forward to everything the author writes in the future.

I have seen so many people reading and raving about the books by Abby Jimenez and yet I have never read one of her books so I thought it was about time I see what all the fuss is about. From the colourful and summery cover I was expecting a soft fluffy almost forgettable romance and although the start of this book felt like it was going to be exactly as I predicted with a whirlwind romance between Xavier and Samantha but what I didn't expect was this storyline to start exploring real life struggles as they navigate a new long distance romance.
I found myself so invested in this storyline and I really had my eyes opened at the pressures families face when living with those who suffer with dementia, the author has done such a great job of delving into the struggles they face and it was well and truly heartbreaking.
Both Xavier and Samantha have their own struggles to face but although there are hurdles in the way they are both desperate to make their relationship work and this really touched my heart. You could see they were made for each other and I would love to have an Xavier in my life! You are never quite sure how or if their romance will work and this just helps to keep me interested and turning those pages.
Although there is a lot of emotion and struggles it isn't all doom and gloom there is a lovely romance and a few laugh out loud moments especially involving an escape room and also the ear pod situation made me chuckle!
I was so surprised by this book and I loved the ease of this authors writing style so I will definitely be picking up another book by Abby Jimenez.

This is going to be a long review, so get your coffee or snacks ready and bear with me ☕🍿. I first got this ARC in November of 2024, and I got so excited because this was one of my most anticipated releases of 2025 that I wanted to save it as much as I could because otherwise, I read it too early and then I have the worst book-hungover ever 😩📚. Although I regret living without Xavier and Samantha for so long, I am also so glad I waited because here I am, after spending 24 hours reading this book non-stop, and now I don't even know what to do with myself 🤯.
When the blurb says we have a grumpy vet with Greek god vibes, you know you have a great story in the making, and Abby did not disappoint. ✨. Xavier Rush is a gorgeous veterinarian who seems perfect until he opens his mouth and proves that even the most attractive guy can say all the wrong things 😬. Samantha, who loves nothing more than proving an ass**** wrong (unless he can admit he made a mistake), goes on what might be the best date in living history with him 😍. But after that incredible night, Samantha is forced to face the truth that any kind of relationship would be impossible. She begs Xavier to forget her, to remember their night together as a perfect moment, as crushing as that may be 💔. No matter how much distance or time passes, you can never erase a memory that special, and the only thing better than one perfect memory is building a life, and even a love, worth remembering 💖.
I went into this book blindly and stayed up way past my bedtime because I simply couldn't put it down, constantly promising myself "just one more chapter" until my eyes were shutting off 😴📖. I fell in love with this romance because my own marriage is the product of a very hard long-distance relationship, with two different time zones, two different continents, endless missed calls, and long flights ✈️🌍. Those tiny moments of reunion made every sacrifice worth it, and I felt every bit of that longing and bittersweet joy as I read about Xavier and Samantha's relationship ❤️.
I loved this book, but please do check out the Trigger Warnings ⚠️. Although it mentions a character with severe dementia, I never expected to experience the caregiving side of things. I was a caregiver for my mom when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, cooking her meals and making sure she was eating while juggling work. That experience, though filled with love and contentment, also brought a lot of raw memories. If you've experienced similar grief and haven't worked through it, this book might be a bit heavy for you.
Overall, this book is like a rollercoaster of emotions 🎢 that moment when you're on top waiting for a big dip, wondering what you're doing to yourself, and then you fall and feel happier and freer than ever afterward.
Thank you so much to Abby Jimenez, Little, Brown Book Group UK, and NetGalley for sending me the ARC 📚🙏. Now, how do I get out of this book-hungover because I just can't get enough! 😊💕

I can’t believe this is my first Abby Jiménez book! I’m honestly mad at myself for not picking up her work sooner.
I usually despise the insta-love trope, but somehow, it completely worked for me in this one. The characters were adorable—I was rooting for them from the very start.
The chemistry between the main characters was perfection, and I absolutely adored Xavier.
Beyond the romance, I also loved how the book explored family relationships and the interactions the characters had with the people around them.
THIS BOOK WAS EVERYTHING.

I was so lucky to receive this book as an ARC reader through NetGalley. I absolutely adored this book so much!!! It was honestly amazing. It made me laugh, cry and gasp at times and it was all brilliant. I loved Xavier, he was literally a king and is so special. Samantha’s character has so much depth to her. All the side characters felt like they had fleshed out personalities. It tackles the subject of grief so well as someone who has recently lost someone very close to me, it resonated with me so much!! This book was so close to the 5 stars for me but the beginning felt very insta lovey so it gets a 4.75 from me!! 🩷🩷🩷

I love Abby Jimenez’ writing. She has a very unique humour embedded in her writing and does write banter very well. I was so looking forward to reading this one!
Unfortunately it fell a little flat with me. I kept waiting to be won over by Sam and Xavier and just never was. They just felt a little flat and stilted, despite all the detail in their backstories. The issue of their long-distance felt so dragged out and painful that they just seemed kinda dumb to not either resolve it or break up.
I also wasn’t expecting this book to be so sad! The second half especially - while written beautifully just felt quite hopeless and depressing, which I probably wouldn’t have minded if I didn’t assume that this would be a feel-good read!
I’m still going to go back and read Jimenez’ backlist, because Just for the Summer was one of my favourite books I read last year. I love her writing and I think I just didn’t connect with this one :)

I think people leaving the five-star reviews must have read a different book to me.
Okay, so firstly I don't leave poor reviews lightly, especially because this is my first experience with this author, I'd been wanting to read Abby Jimenez for a long time and was excited to get this ARC. However, I found Say You'll Remember Me to be tedious, kind of depressing and having little that recommends it as a romance, not to mention the apparently racist remark about Omar going back to his "motherland" which made me want to switch off right then and there.
** Possible spoilers below **
Say You'll Remember Me, feels more like a trauma dump, and a book about dementia, than a romance novel; nothing good happens to the main characters apart from their first meeting, they spend almost no time together, and when they do it's full of worry about how the time is almost used up already and how they can't afford to visit each other. A key secondary character dies, another one cheats, Samantha loses her job, Xavier gets sick and ends up in the hospital, he is also dealing with the fallout of an abusive childhood while his parents are still hassling him AND he has hundreds of thousands of pounds of debt after paying for university and setting up his veterinary surgery. The list goes on. The ending is so outrageously terrible, expecting retired people to save your business for zero pay - I have no words and I just don't know how is this even an idea that stuck past the first edit.
So, two stars for their initial meeting, the animal characters and, oddly, I liked the old car of her grandmother's that Samantha ends up driving.
Thanks to NetGalley and Little Brown Group for the Ark, this is my honest opinion.

Love the mix of humour with such a seriously heartbreaking plot - I couldn’t put it down, but it hurt to continue! Well worth it!
