Brilliant as always! Susan lewis never disappoints. This book felt a bit different to previous books but had all the hallmarks you would expect of the author: brilliant in depth characters, a twisty plot and plenty of subplots too!

Christie and Connor are making a podcast for their series, they are not sure where the tale of unknown identity will take them but one thing is for sure they will not be bored with Sadie in their lives!

Set in Guernsey the story is one of family, loyalty, betrayal, trafficking and murder!

Brilliantly written, a must read!

Always a good read with Susan Lewis books. A mystery surrounding an abandoned child. I liked the dual timeline and a few secrets along the way. Worth a read.

Cristy and Connor of the Hindsight podcast have a new mystery to solve and what a mystery it is! A tiny girl is found by two sisters on a beach - she’s freezing cold, hungry and on her own but with a note in her pocket.asking them to take care of her. And there the mystery begins and continues as the grown up child enlists the help of Cristy and Connor to find her mother. Of course this isn’t easy and the plot becomes more and more complex as events and characters are added - possibly a little too complex at times with an occasional need to reread passages just to clarify who’s doing what. Nonetheless this really is a cracking story with plenty of unexpected twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. This reader gave up sleep on a long haul flight to finish the book!

The storyline relating to the podcast was fairly good with plenty of twists and turns. However, I felt that the story dragged on a bit and didn't really feel there was a lot of purpose to some of the sub plots and characters who were not connected to the podcast.

I thought the book started off really well but as a large number of characters joined the cast I found it hard to follow. I do believe that it would all have made more sense had I read the previous book, Nothing To See Here, first. Not having 'met' many of those characters previously I found it a bit confusing and as it was such a long book I tended to skim read in places. This isn't my favourite book by Susan Lewis but that's not to say that there is anything wrong with it. I feel sure that if I read the previous book. Thank you to netgalley, the author and publisher for a copy of this book. This book was good, the premise and characters great. However, I found it quite lengthy, it could have been a lot shorter and succinct. At times I was skim reading. There were bits of the storyline not needed, like the stalker which was hastily explained at the end. Felt a bit pointless. I was uncomfortable with a character being found with a noose but being described as ‘crazy’ and no one raising any concerns. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this one to others.

This starts with a small child alone on a beach, who is she, where did she come from, a note in her pocket asks the finder to look after her. 20 years later she contacts a podcast company to find out her story, who she is, if she has any family. She has lived with the person who found her on the beach as their niece. As the story unravels it takes on several twists and some answers to her questions, but are they the ones she wants.

sadie was found at the age of two abandoned on a beach, the two sisters who found her took her in and discovered a note asking for them to look after her until a day would come when she would be claimed....

that day never came.....

as it was sadie approached the podcast team asking for help in discovering where she had come from and what had happened for her to be left like that....

it was to be a rollercoaster of a ride for all...

what an epic read.... could not put it down.... and i cant wait to see what is next for the podcast team

The story was about a crime that was It cleared using a podcast in order to say how it happened.

There was twists and turns and the question of 'did she fall or was she pushed' that is broadcast to the listeners.

As well as all this going on, romance plays a part too.

I recommend this book.

With lots of twists and turns this one will keep you guessing all the way through!

Podcasters, Christy and Conner, with the rest of their team, set out to investigate a potential old case where a young child was left alone on the beach. We delve into this child’s life, from a baby through to present day, discovering many secrets along the way.

I found the format a little different with this book, following the script at times for the podcast, but I liked this and found it easy to follow the different characters and what they were thinking and feeling as we moved through the book.

I must say I did feel it was a bit draw out and could have been quite a bit shorter. The characters develop throughout the book, but I did find some of them I just didn’t care that much for.

The different scenery was great and I could imagine being in all the different places they visited.

All in all a good read. 3.5 stars

yes yes yes! i cant believe how lucky and excited i was to be back with the Hindsight team. there has only been on book from Christy and the team before now but i still felt like i was ten books in with how proper in love i was with her and the team. the last book had me gripped and refusing to put down the book for long before i needed more.
Susan Lewis is a top top top author. she has honed her writing to perfection if you ask me. there is just a comfort when one of her books come out, knowing its going to be one of your current best. knowing your going to have talent throughout all the pages. you dont need to question these books. you just know they are going to excel.
for a first in the series the last book had me more excited for a new series than i have over any ive started before.
this book was just as good.
this book and podcast follows Sadie. Sadie has always felt something wrong with her home life. she was bought up by her two aunts after her parents died...didnt they...arent they? but after delving into some old stories Sadie starts to question everything. even if her aunts are even her aunts.
but her aunts wont answer the questions. so Christy gets on the task as chasing down leads and doing what her and her team do best to discover what really happened and who Sadie is, or isnt.
the way Christy and her team navigate these cases is just as wonderful as Susans writing of them. i feel truly immersed in these books and cant wait for the next. i also love how we get to know Christy and her team so i am just in invested as there personal and character build as i am the main investigation.
and in just two books to this series its already steaming up there to be on of my faves and that saying something because im a big party pooping cynic! and im hoping somehow Susan managed to bring them back for more.

This was by no means a bad book, I just found it languished on the middle. It could have done with being shorter and more to the point. I found myself getting a bit lost and not really caring about the characters. Despite the length of the book, the ending felt very rushed and I’ve finished with a sense of disappointment and the feeling that I don’t really know why anything happened.

While the main storyline is compelling, the subplot involving Christy’s digital stalker feels underdeveloped, hinting at a future continuation. Fans of the Hindsight team will enjoy reconnecting with familiar characters in this unputdownable read, and anticipation remains high for the next installment.

Cristy we met in 'Nothing to See Here' and it also picks up on her story to give you a double thread to the story.

I love Susan Lewis and I loved the 'Hindsight' team from a previous book #NothingToSeeHere and so was thrilled to see them back. Once again I enjoyed the alternative investigation provided by their podcast, the characters and Christy's crazy personal life. I didn't enjoy this particular case as much, despite a brilliant start and concept. I wanted more context to the sisters and Sadie's upbringing ie the good before the craziness. I guess I also read into things that weren't there or didn't transpire such as repeated mention of a floral scent and Janina's body never being found. All minor though because I really did enjoy it hence the five stars.

Don't Believe A Word by Susan Lewis is the new thriller that centres on protagonists Christy and Connor's fictional crime podcast Hindsight. The duo are chasing the truth behind whether Sadie's two aunts who raised her are really her family. With her past shrouded in mystery she's not convinced that what she knows about her parents is true, and feeling betrayed by those she loves who raised her she's determined to discover who her parents really are.

But with her aunt refusing to talk to her or to Christy, it's up to the team to chase down leads and unearth what really happened all those years ago. And when it's clear that some people would rather leave the past hidden, the danger of pursuing the truth becomes apparent. Will Christy and Connor finally get to the truth for Sadie, or are they following leads that will lead to nowhere?

While the premise of the book drew me in, I was not a fan of the podcast type format and the story felt like it could have been more succinct. I enjoyed the mystery element, but too many story pieces that didn't seem relevant to the main one seemed to dilute the plot and make the book longer than it needed to have been.

Another great title by Susan Lewis , she writes in a way that really draws you into the plot and the characters within it. She is the best for that.
It had so many emotions attached within the book with lots of twists you don't see coming
It was a brilliant thriller and a fab read just what you've come to expect by the author.

You may not feel the same, and it is a good book overall, with twists aplenty.

The ending was not the one I was expecting.
