This is likely the last in the Molly the Maid series. If so, it is a fitting ending.
Whilst preparing for their wedding, a TV show called Hidden Treasures holds a TV recording at the hotel they both work, and value an item that Molly saw as merely sentimental as actually being worth millions and she becomes an overnight sensation! However, when the item is stolen at auction, Molly's life is threatened if she investigates. Will they solve this mystery, and what answers can her grandmother's old diary reveal?
Once again a great story, but again it's not so much the story that kept me reading. Molly is such an engaging character, and the story of her and her loved ones make these novels that little bit more special. The story did leave some unanswered questions, but not so many as to detract from the overall enjoyment of reading this book. Hearing more about her grandmother's upbringing was a great addition to the story and was beautifully told. I'd recommend the whole series of books to people.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC of this book.

I have typically loved the previous Molly The Maid stories so I was looking forward to this book immensely. I have to say, I was a bit disappointed by the elements in the story such as the mystery, the romance, and the twists. My favourite part was the reading of Molly's grandmother's diary which I found emotionally provocative and enthralling. I feel that Molly's characterization in the previous stories was really strong, with funny and dry awkward social traits and a pride for an occupation that was unrivalled, and it was not lost in this instalment, but definitely felt muted. I'm not sure if this is the last instalment in the series but I would still continue reading them because I gave the first two books five stars.

The Molly the Maid series continues with Molly’s life on the brink of change as an heirloom from her Gran turns out to be worth a fortune and then goes missing – Molly and the regular cast then have to discover who has taken it and get it back.
That mystery is only part of the story, though, which focuses more on the early life of Gran through a diary she has left for Molly. The diary explains where and how Flora grew up and her early relationship with Molly’s grandad, and gives the book a different feel to its predecessors with more emphasis on this back story than the new mystery itself.
This wasn’t my favourite of the series but I still found it entertaining and it’s always nice to catch up with the characters.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy in return for an honest review.

I've loved books 1, 2 and the short and I was super excited to read this. I just love Molly and this felt closer to the first book with her quirkiness and mannerisms. Another great addition to the series

This is third book in the Molly The Maid series, and I really enjoyed it. Returning to the Regency Grand and being reunited with all the characters feels like a warm
hug and being welcomed back by friends.
The Maid’s Secret departs from the murder mystery aspect of the other two, and this book is told in two timelines - present day and the past told through Gran’s diary. This book is as much Gran’s story as it is Mollys, and we find out about Gran’s life before Molly, and how she met Mr Preston.
There is still an underlining mystery at play about a mysterious Faberge egg which keeps the plot ticking along but this one is much more character driven than the previous books, which I really enjoyed.
It’s hard to keep a series interesting as the books go on but Nita Prose manages it with ease, I could read 100 books about Molly.

Considering I didn’t *love* the first two books, I wasn’t sure what to expect this time around. I usually don’t find Molly as lovable as other readers too. But wow, this was my favorite book of the trilogy and think I would’ve loved it as a standalone book, as well. I loved all the backstory, the history, and the development of Gran’s character. Really enjoyed this! There are some heavier topics but are really well done. Would give a 4.5 stars! Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!

‘And just one person’s love is enough to keep your soul alive.‘
What a lovely book world to fall into. I loved the maid but I think (even though at times the plot was absurd) my heart loved this story more than the first!
I think is book will be a book many will either loathe or love as yes the plots absurd at times and some of our characters are not as well developed as previous books but there is so much heart and warmth in this book that it’s a total comfort read which can never be a bad thing . I don’t think it’s a book I would reread but I certainly would read the next instalment of mollys life.

I’ve loved this quirky series about Molly who is a maid at a big hotel and who manages to solve crimes that have happened at her place of employment.
Molly is a bit different from other people, she has her own way of looking at the world and certainly her own manner of doing things but she has been very successful in her job and her personal life which is wonderful.
In this book the reader learns more about the back story of Molly’s beloved Gran, the woman who raised her and who died before the first book had even begun.
The author skilfully weaves Flora’s life in the past into Molly’s present day existence when Molly discovers an item of great worth that once belonged to her Grandmother.
Unusually for a dual time line story I felt equally invested in both periods- it was satisfying to learn more about Molly’s family history but also intriguing to find out what was going on in the present day and how it was all going to come together.
The characters are beautifully drawn and so believable, I loved seeing Mr Preston as a young man and how, in the end, love was the most important thing for everyone concerned.
I’m not sure if this is the last in the series- I certainly hope it’s not but it had a perfect and fitting ending which brought a smile to my lips and filled me with great warmth.
This is the third book and I suggest you read the books in order so that you get the most out of them. Highly recommended.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for my advance copy.

This is the second Maid book I have read and enjoyed it just as much as the first. Great characters enjoyed the storyline. Would definitely recommend this book.

I absolutely love this series and this book was absolutely a great addition! I loved this it’s such a good read and they’re easy to read and very enjoyable

Molly Gray’s life is about to change in ways she could never have imagined. As the esteemed Head Maid and recently promoted Special Events Manager of the Regency Grand Hotel, good things are just around the corner, including her marriage to her beloved fiancé, Juan Manuel, only two months away.
But Molly’s entire existence is upended when a film crew descends upon the hotel to shoot the hit reality TV show Hidden Treasures, starring popular art appraisers Brown and Beagle. On a whim, Molly brings in a shoebox containing a few of her gran’s old things for appraisal, and much to everyone's surprise, one item turns out to be a rare and priceless treasure. Instantly, Molly is both a multi-millionaire and a media sensation—the world’s rags-to-riches darling—until the priceless piece vanishes from the hotel in the boldest, brashest antiquities heist in recent memory.
The key to the mystery lies in the past, in a long-forgotten diary written by Molly’s gran. For the first time ever, Molly learns about Gran’s true-to-life fairytale, a young girl to the manor born, the only child of a wealthy magnate. But when Gran falls head over heels in love with a young man her parents deem below her station, her life is thrown into turmoil. As fate would have it, the greatest love of Gran’s life is someone Molly knows quite well….
Together with her friends, Molly combs the past and the present to catch the thief before looming threats against her become real.

I am going to miss Molly the Maid and the whole cast. I thoroughly enjoyed The Maids Secret, but I am sad that this is the last book in the series. There is always a chance for an another one in the future.. right Anita Prose?? never say never
I loved learning more about Mollys gran, Flora, through her diary. Lots of missing pieces finally fell into place, especially with Mr Preston. The story was another fun one to read, with Molly preparing for her wedding to Juan. I feel like Molly and all the staff are like a family and it was so nice to see them all working together in this instalment
These books are just so nice to read, no swearing, but a mystery to solve along with Molly who is still learning her social graces. So enjoyable.
Thank you to Harper .Collins Uk on NetGalley for my advanced copy to read. Always love spending some time with Molly. Publishing on April 10th.

This is the final part of Molly the Maid’s story where we find out more about her background and her Gran’s backstory. A charming cosy mystery featuring all the cast from the Regency Grand.
It is told in a different way with chapters from her Gran’s diary interspersed with the present and ongoing mystery. A fake Fabergé egg belonging to Molly turns out not to be fake, but is then stolen and the hunt is on! It’s a gentle read with enough to keep you reading and enjoying and a satisfying ending.

The emotional farewell to our encounters with Molly the Maid. From her humble beginnings to becoming Head Maid and Special Events Manager of Regency Grand Hotel whilst solving crimes and sprinkling kindness at every turn; her grandmother would be so proud.
Another fantastic whodunnit and a super series which has always had love at its very heart.
My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley. This review was written voluntarily and is entirely my own unbiased opinion.

The first book by Nita Prose about Molly was genius. I have never forgotten reading it and am wholly convinced that it should be a film. The second in the series was a little disappointing although I did enjoy hearing about more of the characters around Molly. I was looking forward to this one but once again it was a step away from the highs of the first novel. Not quite hitting the mark. I’ve tried to put my finger on what it is that makes the difference. Maybe we will never enjoy follow ups as much as finding Molly in the first place. Or is it that Nita is under pressure to produce more books and doesn’t have the time to really look at the small things which make a story great?

I loved the first two Molly the maid books and although I did enjoy this one, I don't think the story was as strong.
I really enjoyed the diary entries from Flora and it was nice to fill in Gran's back story. I think I would almost have preferred a whole story about Flora's early life as the story with the egg just wasn't for me. It does make the tone of the book different to the others though as Flora's diaries are more of a romance story than anything else.
I think the actual mystery part of Molly's part of the book doesn't even start until midway through the book and it's quite slow going to that point. The way it ties up the 2 halves of the story is quite well done though.
I think if you enjoyed the other Molly books you will enjoy this but it is quite different to the others.

I have always been a Nita Prose fan, so when The Maid's Secret was gifted to me by Netgalley, I knew I needed to find a quiet place to read for the day. I finished this in one sitting - it's that great! It's a fun-filled sting that ends with a fabulously crafted love story. This book is a cozy mystery that all mystery/thriller readers will truly enjoy.

Oh I absolutely love this series; it's got everything you want from a mystery and has this nostalgic feeling that harks back to the days of Agatha Christie.
I absolutely love this series. Firstly we get The Maid, followed by The Mystery Guest, and then this installment. It's got everything I want from a crime mystery book. It has elements of the classic whodunnits but with enough modern elements to make it fresh.
Molly is one of the best fictional characters I've read in a long time. She's got such depth and she's very real, very flawed. Whilst it's not stated explicitly, Molly clearly has some neurodiverse tendencies and I think it's important to see that in a main character in a mainstream book.
There are a lot of other characters in this. We've got the cast we've come to know and love, but we've also got a handful of new ones. This gives it a sense of familiarity without being a carbon copy.
Where this one differs from the previous books is we get a bit of Molly's family history in the form of a diary her late grandmother kept. It's like a story within a story. Those scenes often made me feel uncomfortable; the people and the goings on were not always pleasant. But it's very well written, and so Nita has done a good job at depicting that. It doesn't say what year it was set - or if it did I missed it - but it's clearly of an age where Molly's gran was expected to fit into society's expectations of a woman. We have previously only known of her gran through Molly, but this let her have a bigger part, and I noticed some similarities between her and Molly, which was nice.
It's like a locked room mystery in a way, even though it's not in a locked room. But a crime where everyone is accounted for, everyone is looking upon it. It should have been impossible.
It was such a uplifting book. Yes there's the crime, obviously, but that's almost background. This is about family and friends, love, new love, old love, lost love, about righting wrongs; and unexpectedly moving.
I have heard rumours that this is the last book in the series, and if it is, then it's perfectly ended, but I wouldn't be unhappy if there were more.

I’m writing this review with tears in my eyes; what an absolute rollercoaster of a read. I have loved all of Molly’s stories and this is a wonderful addition to the series.
You really need to have read the other Maid stories to really appreciate this; half of the story is told via diary entries by Molly’s late grandma, Flora, and a lot of Molly’s backstory is explained.
There is a mystery about the disappearance of a Faberge egg, but it plays second fiddle to the wider backstory (which is a mystery in itself).
An easy five stars for making me feel every emotion so strongly. I hope we see Molly again.

When a fine arts and collectibles fair hosts an event at the Regency Grand Hotel Molly takes along some of her grandmother's prized possessions, little realising that her life could be about to change forever.
As a fan of Molly the Maid, I was over the moon to see that author Nita Prose was giving her a third outing in The Maid's Secret. Although there is a mystery element to the story, it doesn't play as big a part as it did in the first two books in the series The Maid (read my review here) and The Mystery Guest (read my review here).
Fans of the series will know that Molly was raised by her gran, a woman who had a huge influence on her life and made her the open, hard-working and honest person she is. Molly's gran was one of those people who didn't dwell on the past, she was firmly rooted in the present. A large part of The Maid's Secret reveals her gran's backstory in the form of diary entries, a diary she wrote for Molly. Through the diary we meet a young Flora Gray, born into a wealthy but loveless family. As a result, she is raised by her nanny and because of this she remains grounded, hoping to attend university and make something of her life.
Flora's diary entries are interspersed with current-day events in the hotel. During the fair, a valuable antique was unearthed and subsequently auctioned off in the hotel. The auction is to take place on live TV, hosted by celebrity auctioneers and puts Molly at the forefront of proceedings, not something she wants or likes. Somehow, the antique mysteriously disappears in front of everyone. The staff at the hotel like nothing better than a mystery to solve and we see many of the characters we have grown to love involved.
I found myself more absorbed by Flora's story than that of Molly, partly because she was pushing against expectations but also because I wanted to know how she met Molly's grandfather, Mr Preston. As both storylines approach the conclusion we discover that they are linked, but the important question is will there be a happy ending for Molly? I think fans will be satisfied with how things turn out.
