When Anna's life implodes, she is left to pick up the pieces and find a new direction. With the help of family and good friends, she takes the second chance she needs and heads to a country estate in Northumberland. It's a steep learning curve discovering country ways, and her boss seems determined to find fault, but it's not all bad and gradually, she finds what she's looking for. I soon warmed to this story's main characters, especially Anna and Fi. who have a believable friendship. Jamie and Anna's emotional connection is initially contentious, but it's soon clear that they are attracted to each other even if they deny it. I like the humour, slow-burn romance, and emotion this story delivers. The Northumberland setting is lovely, and I enjoyed the snippets of rewilding knowledge that give the story its authentic setting. It's an engaging and heartwarming read that kept me entertained.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

I was initially fascinated and drawn in by the title and cover of this book. After finishing this book in only two days it is safe to say that this book is incredible and it got me out of a big reading slump.
Overall, the plot is very well thought out and the character development of the main characters (In particular Anna, Jamie and Tally) are very interesting. I love how natural the flow of the plot feels as Anna goes from feeling like an insider to fitting into this small, well interconnected community.
Speaking of small, well interconnected communities, I love the vibe and aesthetic of this book, it reminds me of the Dream Harbour series by Laurie Gilmore so I would 100% recommend reading this book if you love small town tropes where everyone knows each other and everyone cares about each other.
I love how in the beginning Anna went from saying yes all the time and being a people pleaser to saying no, I was all for this and loved how she reinvented herself but what I loved even more was how in the end Anna learnt that it is ok to say yes sometimes too.
Overall, this book is beautifully written and it is such a cozy read, it was a pleasure to be offered an arc of this book. This is my first read of 2025 and I am so happy that I have started my year with such an incredible, heart warming book.

3.5 stars
After a disastrous day turns her life upside down, Anna Whitlock leaves her city life—and her demanding fiancé Sean—behind to start fresh at the remote Stonemore Estate in Northumberland. Amidst her rewilding job, she finds distraction in Callum, the charming estate manager, and Hugo, an adorable beagle. But tension—and undeniable chemistry—with Jamie, the enigmatic estate owner, complicates things. As Anna tries to break her people-pleasing habits, she faces a choice: follow her heart or stick to her new boundaries. Can she learn to say yes to what truly makes her happy?
The synopsis of this book intrigued me so much and sounded so good!
I really enjoyed the story of this book and had a great time reading it! It was a great slow burn romance that had me intrigued on every page, however, I thought the pacing just after being halfway point of the novel was a bit disjointed but the ending tied it all together nicely.
I would recommend this book for anyone that enjoys;
slowburn romance
Grumpy x sunshine
He falls first
Cute little dogs in the story
Stories set in the British countryside

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC
When Anna is dumped by her fiancé, she leaves London behind and heads to Stonemore to help rebuild their gardens and eco system. Of course the Lord of the Manor is grumpy and so starts their grumpy x sunshine relationship.
This had lots of elements I loved, the conflict between the two main characters, slow burn, closed door romance, but it was just lacking something for me. I didn’t love the characters or really the writing style. Was a sweet story though

I really loved this book and would recommend to any of you who enjoy a slow burn romance in a book which is still enjoyable and easy to read. It was funny and light hearted and overall a lovely read. I also I love that it's set in the UK, in Northumberland which i s a place I have loved to visit so I could imagine where the story was taking place.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I had high hopes going into this after reading the blurb, and it did not disappoint - Anna is the ultimate people-pleaser, who has just had her world turned upside down by some devastating news, but throwing herself into a ‘rewilding’ project might be just the thing to help her really find herself…
Throw in a couple of handsome men, an adorable beagle, and some wonderful friends/colleagues, and you have everything you need for a slow-burn romance, full of heartwarming moments (and some emotional upheaval), which also happens to be set in the beautiful Northern England countryside!
The writing was engaging, the character building was lovely, and I honestly felt like I learned a lot about natural ecosystems, forestry management, and wildflowers.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and think it is a great debut novel!
*Please do check the trigger warnings before reading, as this storyline does centre around the topic of infertility which I know can be upsetting for some people. However, I would like to say that I think the author managed the subject in a very compassionate and respectful way.*

Every so often you stumble across a book that makes you feel all the things and for once it’s set in a beautiful English country manner.
When Anna receives the news that changes her life plan and her fiancé subsequently leaves her, she does what any heartbroken woman does; leaves London, heads to Northumberland to start a new job on a country estate with her best friend Fi.
This cozy romance is filled with descriptive imagery of the countryside and the environmental restoration plans that Anna has developed. It really feels like you’re there.
As always there is a cast of lovable characters including ones that grow on you as time goes by. I think we can all agree that Hugo might be the favourite
While Anna has always been a ‘Yes girl’ n London, she start to rediscover the power of the work No; and in some cases No might be the right answer.
I throughly enjoyed how Callum, with his quick charm and a somewhat famous hot chocolate recipe gave Anna the space to discover what she wants.
As for His Lordship, I think we can all agree that Anna’s grumpy new boss is more bark than bite. Jamie can make any girl swoon and really is perfect for Anna.
Overall, this was a delightful read.

Wild About You is an easy, well written slow burn romance with a good sense of humour and a dreamy setting. The book gives off wonderfully good vibes and I enjoyed ever page.

Wild About You by Sophie Loxton 📕
💫’Shall we sit down over here?’ he said, going over to the dining-room table and pulling out a chair for me with elaborate good manners. Then his expression changed sharply. ‘Sit,’ he barked. I sat down, just about stifling the ‘bloody hell’ that rose to my lips. ‘I was speaking to Hugo,’ Jamie said.
Anna, recently separated from her fiancé and wanting a new start, takes a job at Stonemore Estate in Northumberland. She soon settles well into the job role except for one thing, her boss, Jamie. They clash heads almost instantly and his emotional unavailability adds to the conflict. Anna needs to learn how to put herself first and figure out why she can’t stop thinking about Jamie.
My review 📖:
I was hooked on this book from only a few chapters in and did not want to stop reading.
The way the books written makes it so easy to follow the story. I instantly connected to and liked all of the characters. The main protagonists- Anna and Jamie - were enjoyable to read and I giggled throughout. The build up of the relationships between all of the characters is wonderful and believable.
I really enjoy reading small town, close proximity, slow burn romances and this one did not disappoint whatsoever.
Not only is this a wonderfully romantic and cute story, it also tackles several important and deep issues such as infertility, IVF and the social ‘class’ hierarchy, which gives the storyline a lot of depth and substance.
I did not want the book to end! Will be buying a copy for myself when it’s released and definitely will be reading it again!
Looking forward to reading more from Sophie.

My score: 5/5 ⭐️

Firstly I would like to thank Simon & Schuster UK at NetGalley and author Sophie Loxton for giving me this amazing opportunity and for providing me with a digital copy of ‘Wild About You’.
Now my review— ‘Wild About You’ is a beautifully well written, captivating slow-burn romance novel which follows the lovely Anna Whitlock, who has always said yes even when she didn’t want to. But now she is breaking free from the people-pleasing Anna she used to be. After a horrible break-up, Anna tries to rebuild her life by moving to another town in England and starting a new job, leaving her old life behind. Anna is a wonderful, resilient, hard-working, funny and incredibly inspiring character, I could relate to her in so many ways. I truely loved each and every character in this book. From the tension between Jamie and Anna was bliss with a beautiful ending, the amazingly powerful friendship between Fi and Anna was simply beautiful and it had me thinking about the wonderful friends in my life. And don’t get me started on Hugo, the Beagle who completely stole my heart. Loxton writes in a remarkable way you will not be able to put this down, she describes the landscape of Stonemore Estate in a breathtaking way and at times I felt like I was physically there brushing my hand along the grass and stone walls. To the thoughts and feelings of the characters. Sophie tackles the topics of infertility and IVF in the most moving way it will tug at your heart strings start to finish. I adored this read, more than I ever imagined I would.

"Wild About You" is a delightful escape for a cozy weekend!!
This heartwarming story, though tinged with moments of heartbreak, captivated me from the very first page. I found myself completely immersed in the plot, losing track of time as I devoured every word.
I adored all the characters, but Hugo, the rambunctious beagle, stole my heart. Anna Whitlock is incredibly relatable, and her journey of self-discovery and growth was lovely to read. Jamie Mullholland, the quintessential grumpy heart throb with his occasional glimpses of vulnerability were kryptonite to my superman. I loved them all!!!
The novel doesn't shy away from exploring the emotional ups and downs of fertility and IVF, which i found both moving and relatable.
The only thing I think was missing from this book, was a few more chapters at the end! However, I might just be slightly addicted to the characters at this point...
If you enjoy forced proximity tropes, grumpy sunshine romances, and slow-burn relationships, "Wild About You" is an absolute must-read.

Holy smokes! Wild About You is such a heartwarming, engaging, and vibrant read that transported me to the idyllic English countryside.
As a recovering people-pleaser, Anna must learn to advocate for herself and forge her own happiness while navigating the aftermath of a brutal break-up. In an attempt to find herself again, Anna ends up working at Stonemore Estate as a 'rewilding manager.' (Essentially, she works on environmental projects on the estate.) I found Anna to be a likeable, funny, hard working, and sympathetic protagonist. I was rooting for her the entire time.
Wild About You tackles important issues such as infertility, IVF, class, feelings of inadequacy, and the importance of community. While the novel is fun and cute in parts, it also has a lot of heart.
The cast of characters at Stonemore are vibrant, humorous, and (mostly) warm. I loved watching Anna find her footing in her new work environment and be swept away by the wonderful nature and community surrounding her. Moreover, the romance is quite sweet and unfurls slowly. I won't spoil anything, but the chemistry between the two love interests is excellent.
Overall, Wild About You charmed me. Loxton really has crafted a delicious, charming romance that I will be recommending to many of my friends. I can see this book becoming a wildly popular 2025 release. From adorable beagles to heartfelt friendships and romance, this book has it all.

I loved this book, especially the tension between Anna and Jamie, but I thought that Anna and Jamie got together very quickly towards the end of the book and wished that it was a little bit longer. Furthermore, I loved all of the characters and their story lines, especially Fi's and her close relationship with Anna. I would definitely recommend this book to readers who enjoy a lighthearted romance where the enemies to lovers aren't really enemies and he falls first and hard.
Thank you to Net Galley, Sophie Loxton and the publisher for allowing me to receive an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Anna has been a ‘Yes’ person for so long she has lost herself. When she discovers she is never going to have children, her relationship with her fiancé breaks down and she knows she needs to start over and find herself. Anna takes a job working at a manor house but will she be able to find her self and find love?
This was such a raw, heartbreaking, and lovable story about a woman overcoming fertility issues and finding herself along the way. Please bear this in mind if it upsets you.
As someone who lives in Oxfordshire, I could picture this house so clearly in my mind with the haves and the have not dynamic playing out so beautifully.
This is a great book for any fans of Emily Henry or Beth O’Leary‘s.

I really enjoyed this book and one of my favourite parts was that it’s set in the UK!! I am so used to most of the books I read being set in the USA (not that I have anything against this!) but I didn’t realise how much I’d like it to have a book with UK references I would be able to get. I loved this book and found it really heart warming and engaging.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend to anyone who loves slow burn romance. It’s set in the UK which I love - I am English and live here but there’s something special about books set here! Makes me feel cosy and comforted as I read and makes a change as most books are set in the US. I look forward to other books by Sophie Loxton!

This book is packed with wit, heart, and that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you’re rooting for someone to find their happily-ever-after. With a gorgeous setting, engaging characters, and a relatable heroine, Wild About You is an emotional and uplifting ride. If you love romances with a dose of self-discovery and sizzling chemistry, this one’s for you.

This was a lovely slow burning romance. Anna moves to Northumberland to spend time with her best friend after a break up with her fiance. It's a nice story with lots of lovely characters. Well written, a definite heart warmer. Thank you to Net Galley for an advanced copy

FINALLY A BOOK BASED IN THE UK!!!
I really enjoyed this book, I loved all the tropes, blow burn, grumpy x sunshine, getting over an ex, making a new start, close proximity, he falls first and hard, small town romance!
this books was wonderful to read, it was hard to put down and I would happily read it again and again.

This beautifully crafted tale is set in a stunning part of the UK, made even more enjoyable by the vivid descriptions of the landscape—especially since it’s a place I’ve visited and could picture so clearly.
Anna Whitlock’s life takes a devastating turn when her fiancé breaks her heart following tragic news that alters the course of their relationship. Seeking a fresh start, she trades the chaos of London for the wild beauty of Northumberland, where she moves closer to her best friend Fi and takes on a role in an environmental project at a grand Stately Home.
As Anna begins to settle into her new life, she quickly forms connections with her colleagues, particularly Callum, whose charm catches her eye. But it’s her brooding and often exasperating boss, Jamie Mulholland, who truly gets under her skin. Their encounters are charged with tension—he challenges her at every turn, making her feel like she can’t do anything right. Yet, there’s something in the way he looks at her, in the subtle ways he supports her, that makes him impossible to ignore.
As their connection deepens, Anna struggles to let go of her past, finding herself at a crossroads. Determined to shed her old ways of saying "yes" to everything, she starts setting boundaries and making choices for herself—but are these decisions leading her to happiness, or holding her back? Her journey forces her to confront what she truly wants, even if it risks her heart all over again.
The characters are unforgettable, with Hugo the dog being an absolute delight. Jamie’s quiet care and unspoken affection for Anna are heartwarming, and the simmering tension between them is palpable. Every moment they share leaves you desperate for them to sort out their feelings, even as they drive each other—and the reader—a little crazy.
