Four and a half
I love this authors work but had somehow missed this trilogy so went into this hoping to be sucked in and was not disappointed. Winter is a Witch who has found a home and more importantly the love of her life in Cain an Ancient with powers that would scare anyone sane . Cains enemy Adam has revenge heavily on his twisted mind and needs Wynter to release his people from a powerful curse. His answer ? Offer a heavy reward for her but will those around her ignore it or betray Wynter ?
As mentioned I have not read the two previous books yet but happily this is a story full of revelations so for this reader interesting and entertaining without too much confusion. This author writes romance that is spicy but doesn't over shadow the story so there's a plot that makes sense. Plus wacky supporting characters to frequently lighten the mood. I very much was surprised by the fact that this alludes to the biblical story of Cain and Abel as usual this author did not disappoint.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

I received an ARC Netgalley but I also purchased. This is a really great ending to this trilogy I absolutely love all the characters and the world building. I hope we get more stories from these characters

I have been eagerly anticipating this book and it defied my expectations. Finally we get the epic battle the series has been building towards and Kali’s grand plan is revealed at last. Whilst it’s good to have all the mysteries solved and the questions answered, I hope this is not the end for these characters. Cain and Wynter’s story has now been told, but as with the author’s previous series’, I hope we get to see the secondary characters find their own happily ever afters… Much like many others, I’d especially love to see a book about Annabel and Azaeal! For anyone new to Suzanne’s books, it’s important to know that this is the third book in a trilogy, so you are really missing out if you don’t read the books in order.

The final instalment in what has been a darker and more intense than usual trilogy from Suzanne Wright but one that still delivers everything we’ve come to expect from this prolific author. From feisty, smart mouthed heroines and uber alpha and possessive heroes with sizzling chemistry between them, intrigue-filled plots, lots of secrets just waiting to be revealed and not forgetting a rich vein of sarcastic humour running throughout that will have you snorting back laughter at the deliciously wicked dialogue between the main protagonists
The Monsters We Are has brought to a close a series that was based loosely on biblical mythology and puts this author’s personal spin on what really happened between Cain and Abel and spoiler alert, the villain of the tale might not be who you expect. At the centre of the story was Cain, the de facto leader of Devil’s Cradle and a mysterious heroine in the shape of Wynter Dellavale, a witch who, like Cain, carried an entity within her but hers had it’s own agenda. Her arrival challenged Cain but also fulfilled a need in him, dispelling the boredom that plagued him. She also brought with her a opportunity for Cain and his cohorts to finally escape their prison and take their long-awaited vengeance on their despised captors. With Wynter came the ragtag group of witches she’d gathered along the way creating her own coven or crew depending on who you asked but who had become her family in all but blood. They certainly fought amongst each other enough to be related and brought their own sense of fun and levity to the story. In a gripping storyline with fantastic character dynamics, strong friendships, witty banter, and lots of steamy times, all the secrets surrounding the pair were revealed and justice served.
Suzanne is one of those rare authors I know will not disappoint me and I can’t wait to see what her fertile imagination produces next.

What a great ending to this trilogy!
I loved this book, the characters as ever were great and I can't wait to read some more of their stories.
There were no questions left unanswered which is good and is always a little bit of a worry when a story spans more than one book. I think what I liked most was that the surprises didn't feel like they came out of the left field but also didn't feel super obvious either.
Whilst there are some scenes in all of these books that are not fully to my tastes, that is definitely a personal preference and does not in any way affect the enjoyment that I have reading this series.
Thank you Net Galley and Piatkus/ The Little Little, Brown Book Group for this ARC to review.

I received this book from Netgally in exchange for a review.
I love the relationship between Cain and Wynter. The push and pull. All the characters are very vivid. The coven friendship is fantastic. The fight scenes are brilliant. Really hope this world continues.

4.5 stars
This is the final installation to the trilogy of Cain and Wynter and it was a doozy. The bond between these two are as strong and intense as ever. I can say Cain is never going to be the lovey dovey type but he does show his feelings towards Wynter in his own way, and there is no doubt he loves her. The dynamics between Wynter and her coven are hilarious and had so many laugh out loud moments. And we had the epic battle we have all been waiting for. We also got the answers to many questions that had been brewing throughout the books and they blew my mind! The world building is absolutely brilliant in this whole series and adding in the twists and turns had me engrossed in the story. I was so sad the trilogy was done, but hoping we are not done in this universe.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.

I read the first two books in this series last year and loved this new world by Suzanne Wright. I have read many series by this author and knew I was going to enjoy this one as well. The third book in the series is just as incredible as the first two and is a fitting conclusion to the Devils' Cradle series. Wynter and Cain continue to captivate. I loved the relationships between the characters, especially the dynamic between Wynter and her coven. I am eagerly hoping for more stories set in this world.

Wynter and Cain continue to delight! The third book in the series was just as fabulous as the first two. The characters, the storyline, the steam.... it was just fantastic! I enjoyed this book and will be hoping for more in this 'world'!

This book truly had it all - an exciting fast moving plot, a compelling world, celestial beings, comedy, romance, found family and “hero’s” and villains. Lots of the latter. It was fun and it kept me engaged right until the very last page, in fact I read almost the entire book in a couple of sittings I was so immersed in it.
Wynter’s coven had me literally cackling from the very first page. I could picture their misfit group so vividly and I felt so deeply connected to all of those characters as a bit of a weirdo myself - and isn’t that the fun of reading?! And also, what’s fun about normal anyway? Suzanne put all of her crazy into this book and you could just tell she had the best time writing it, it was just such a fun, enjoyable, non-serious time. There is something here for any fantasy reader I think!
If you lean more towards the dark romance side of fantasy - this is for you. There’s a good amount of spice for those interested, but also those scenes in my opinion were done well in conjunction with the story and not over the top.
I will admit that I was not aware that this book was the final instalment in the series, even still I jumped straight into the story and was able to pick up exactly what was going on. While I’m sure having read the first two books would have given me a deeper understanding of this world and these character’s, I don’t think it impeded my ability to really connect with this book and enjoy the overall story.
Suzanne Wright has really pulled me in with this world and at some point I will certainly get to those first two books.

I received this from Netgally in exchange for an honest review.
There were three things I realised when I was about 10% into the book. 1) I was going to really enjoy this!
2) This was the final installment in the series
3) The above realisation wasn't enought to stop me reading once I'd started, because I was already hooked.
The only regret I have is that I didn't read the other two books first because I obviously missed it on so much fun, character and relationship building. But I didn't want to stop so I didn't.
I adored the relationships between everyone, some were more tense than others but most were fun, especially the interactions between Wynter and her coven!
Despite coming into this book blind and ignorant to everything, I was immediately drawn into the world and easily picked up on the world building which was delivered flawlessly. Everything happened almost in the background so I feel like I just absorbed the information without having to process it.
Cain and Wynter's relationship is solid, they are together and it feels real. They both understand each other in a way that catches the other off guard at times and I loved it. No silly misunderstandings or falling out. If there's a problem, they talk about it and that is gold to me.
It was spicy and thankfully it happens organically, there's no silly spice for the sake of adding it in or using it as filler or inappropriately timed. There is feeling, possession and obsession from both sides.
There were so many characters and so many things to live and hate about them. Even though some of the events in the book were a bit predictable, it was still very enjoyable. I think I'll just go back and start the series from the start.

A fitting end to the series!
This book continues where The Nightmare in Him left off - it's the Ancient vs Adam!
I really love the characters in this series ( as I do in all of the author's books). They're all very distinct personalities, and the banter and relationships between them are incredibly entertaining! Every member of the coven is absolutely nuts, and I love them for it.
The final battle (and some minor one) is excellent, outstanding questions (the sleepwalking, the monster, etc) get answered, and I think it's the best book in the trilogy - if you enjoyed it up to now, you'll have a great time with this!
I usually love this author, but unfortunately never fully connected with this book as much as I wanted to. The most important relationship, the one between Wynter and Cain, just doesn't really work for me - it feels more physical than romantic, and the spicy scenes are not for me. I'm also a bit too familiar with the Ancient Near Eastern stories used for inspiration to really enjoy the mythology as of the book. Both those things are a matter of taste though, and likely won't bother most other readers.
Many thanks to Little, Brown Book Group for allowing me to read an eARC of this book through Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

One of the best reads of the year. Halloween has come to Devil's Cradle, also a broadcast from Adam demanding that Caine and his consort Wynter be handed over to the Aeons. Adams offers a bounty of one millions dollars to anyone who makes it happen.
Wynter is kidnaped by vengeful coven members who were soon punished by her monster. It isn't long before someone else try to deliver her to Adam. After her monster deals with them Wynter ends up in The Netherworld talking to Kali,. who finally lets her into her master plan, on the promise that she says nothing to anyone.
The Ancients have decided to break out of their prison and take the war to Adam and the rest of the Aeons. But first they have to take down the walls of their cage. In the midst of the battle a traitor is revealed.
The characters are well written, the story line is brilliant, it pulls you into the plot with no effort. A great read.

This is the third and finale installation of the devils cradle trilogy. It finishes off the series nicely, with the ancients, coven and others from devils cradle battling the last of the aeons. Most of the action was in the last three quarters of the book.
I am very sad that this trilogy is over. I’ve loved Wynter and Cain since the start and would love to know what happens to the rest of the coven and ancients too. I don’t think this book was as good as the previous in the series but I still loved it. It started off fairly slow and built up until the ending. It ended nicely and was a good conclusion to Wynter and Cains stories. The epilogue was really strange with two characters appearing who I have no clue who they are. Possibly characters from a different series by the author.
The only thing I disliked was Cain constantly referring to Wynter as a sex toy, I’m not sure if I can recall a sexual scene between the two why he didn’t essentially tell her she was his toy to use as he pleased. However, he is who he is and he does show a lot of development.
I definitely would recommend this series and I’m so happy that I got to read an eARC just so I didn’t have to wait to know how it ends. Thank you to Suzanne Wright, NetGalley and Piatkus.

I don’t really know what to say that won’t make sound like a broken record about Suzanne Wright. She’s an auto-buy author and as soon as I saw this was available on NetGalley, I just had to request it. Just sign me up for anything she writes.
For the end of a trilogy, I couldn’t be more pleased (and unpleased, because for the love of everything unholy please, please don’t let this be the end of this sub-verse. Or at least give us Anabel’s book…preferably with Azazel). Everything we had questions about was resolved, though let me tell you, there is a LOT you won’t be able to anticipate.
As always, Cain is hotter than hot, Wynter is badasser than badass, and her coven is bat-shit crazier than bat-shit crazy.
We get some crazy hot scenes:
“I don’t want to fuck your mouth. I want to fuck your throat. I want to feel the muscles there contract around my cock. Want to see and hear you choke. Want to watch tears fill your eyes and trickle down your face.”
Crazy sweet scenes:
Wynter had walked into his world, sliced through the listlessness, and settled into his life as easily as if it had been preordained.
Crazy funny scenes:
“That race was brutal. My feet are still killing me.”
Wynter frowned at the older woman. “I don’t see why they would be. You didn’t run, you flew in your crow form. And you only completed half the race.”
And just some crazy scenes:
“You…you all played catch with Missy’s severed head near the bonfire?”
Plus, if you’re a fan of Suzanne’s other books, you won’t want to miss this epilogue! In other words, you won’t be disappointed with this book.

This was a good conclusion to Wynter & Cain's story.
I continued, though, to find the switching of POV back and forth with no distinction quite jolting. This book also seemed to be 50% action, 50% rough intimate scenes, which did begin to feel fairly gratuitous rather than enhancing the relationship between the pair.
Despite this, I did enjoy the story, with its biblical links, and great mix of paranormal and fantastical characters. Wright is talented at creating distinctive characters with the most amusing personalities, and the shenanigans Wynter's coven got up to never failed to elicit a stray chuckle.

5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What an epic conclusion!!
The Bloodrose coven are hilarious I hope we get all of their stories because I need and want more of them.
Cain and Wynter are as strong as ever and they continue to steam up the pages.
Wynters monster gets to feast quite a lot which is always entertaining.
We finally get to know all the secrets, and there are some twists which I definitely wasnt expecting.
There is a death thats sad and totally unexpected as it seems like the final battle is all over and then your almost blindsided by it.
I loved the small cameo at the end it made me miss the demons so thats gonna be my next re read( if you havent read them I highly recommend the dark in you series).
I enjoyed my visit to this world and look forward to whatever is to come next from this author.
Thank you to Little brown book group and Netgalley for providing me with this A.R.C

What an absolute treat! This is the third book in the trilogy and truly delivers.
Questions are answered with some unexpected twists. New characters are introduced and the ones you love are back.
If you haven’t yet read this series now is the time to start.
I see what you did there with the final epilogue Mrs Suzanne Wright! Nicely done.

The blurb made it seem as if it was a stand alone book/first in a series but was very quickly shown as not that. For my tastes there was too much smut and lacking overall. An ok read but didnt make me want to go and read the rest of the series.

I got tricked into binging all three of the books! The blurb made it seem that this book would be the first of the series but that was obviously not the case.
The premise is honestly awesome. I love how unhinged the characters are; they’re just true villains and I’m here for it. The only thing that bothered me was perhaps the amount of sex scenes, but I can imagine other readers thoroughly enjoying them.
