I had high hopes for this book, but it unfortunately missed the mark for me. The beginning started off interesting, but then soon things became really slow and sometimes repetitive. It felt there was a whole lot of nothing happening for most of the book, and then the end was packed with the drama, twists, and turns. That said, I actually really liked how the book ended, but wish it hadn't felt so rushed.
The multiple POVs were done well, and I like the mystery that was built because of it. Sabrina was sometimes unbearable because of her naivety and the way she ignored obvious red flags. I also got a little tired of most of the women being referred to as "chicks".
Overall, this was a quick and fun read that I'd recommend, and I enjoyed how everything came together in the end.

Do you like your mystery thriller reading full of twists, turns, and surprises? This latest Angela Henry title may be a winning read for you! She’s an author new to me, but I was drawn into the plot quickly. A young woman librarian lands a much-needed job restoring a dream library in the mansion of one of the town’s richest employers- a handsome bachelor. The plot developed well with more questions and complications in each chapter. But I was left breathless as the ending neared. There were SO MANY twists, turns and reveals packed into the last few pages! I was overwhelmed with the sudden inclusion of so many details. But it may have plot twist seekers delighted,

This was a great book. I loved every paragraph, every sentence and every word of this masterpiece! I read it in 12 hours, which is a lot for me to do! It had everything and more laid out in the novel! I sure hope There is more to come from this author! I am totally hooked!

A woman takes a librarian job with a wealthy family, but is met with secrets, rules, and strange disappearances. This was a fast-paced, twisty psychological thriller perfect for Freida McFadden fans! I read it in one sitting and did not see the plot twists coming.
Thanks for the opportunity to read!

So this one has twists and turns throughout the book. I give a five star because of the story line and how she builds the characters as she goes and keeps building them stronger and how no one is left out of the twists. Things like well maybe it is her or well maybe it's him. Things like that. It is a very strong story and you won't want to put it down and if you do I promise you will want to pick it up as soon as possible.
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the early read!

This book started strong for me, but lost momentum as it went on. It was a pretty fun thriller overall though. It moved along quickly and was twisty enough to hold my attention for the most part.
I read an ARC of this book from NetGalley. All comments are my own.

Smart, gripping, and relentlessly paced, this thriller pulls you into its web of secrets and doesn’t let go. The twists are both shocking and satisfying, keeping you constantly off balance in the best way. Rich character development adds heart to the high-stakes plot. It’s a masterfully written story that delivers thrills with substance.

This book kept me on my toes and I didn't see the twist coming. I loved it! It was a bit hard for me to put down and when I did I was thinking about picking it up again...which is how I know I'm loving the book.

Angela Henry’s "The Family Lies" is a gripping, twisty ride into the heart of a family shattered by secrets and lies. From the very first page, Henry expertly weaves a web of suspense that tightens with each turn, pulling you deeper into a vortex of hidden truths and shocking revelations. This is not just another domestic thriller; it’s a masterclass in building tension and crafting characters whose complexities will haunt you long after you’ve turned the final page.
The story centers around the close-knit but fractured Armstrong family. On the surface, they appear to have it all: wealth, success, and unwavering bonds. However, beneath this veneer of perfection lies a dark undercurrent of betrayal, resentment, and secrets that have been buried for years. When a sudden, tragic event forces these secrets to surface, the Armstrongs find themselves embroiled in a maelstrom of suspicion and accusation. Each family member becomes a suspect, and no one is entirely innocent.
What makes "The Family Lies" truly compelling is Henry’s skillful portrayal of her characters. They are flawed, relatable, and utterly human. You’ll find yourself changing your mind about who to trust with every chapter, as their true motives and pasts are slowly revealed. The shifting perspectives add another layer of intrigue, allowing you to see the same events through different lenses, which only deepens the mystery and keeps you guessing until the very end.
The pacing is impeccable, with each chapter ending on a cliffhanger that propels you forward. The atmosphere is thick with unease and paranoia, as the family’s carefully constructed façade crumbles, exposing the rot beneath. Henry has a keen eye for detail, and she uses it to paint a vivid picture of the Armstrongs’ world, making you feel like you’re right there with them, caught in their tangled web of lies.
"The Family Lies" is a thrilling and engaging read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It’s a story about the lengths we go to protect those we love, the devastating consequences of hidden truths, and the realization that sometimes, the greatest threats come from within. Angela Henry has delivered a knockout thriller that will leave you breathless and pondering its secrets long after you’ve finished.

An out of work librarian, now barista, finds work with a customer who offers her a job with room and board to catalogue his home library. Without a pause she agrees: seriously? How desperate can one be to live in a rich man's home, no questions asked, under the thumb of a housekeeper that runs a tight ship with more rules that make no sense and beckon to be broken. The fact that she has lied about her credentials to this man is secondary to the opportunity. Shouldn't he have done a background check on her or is HE being shady as well?
Once Sabrina has signed on the dotted line for her two year commitment she discovers background history on the family that piques her interest, especially when the house rules state no venturing around the house at night, in by a curfew and never explore the third floor. She's a librarian, researching is her forte, why all the mystery?
Sabrina does a fine job of vexing the housekeeper while developing feelings for her employer and uncovering several secrets meant to stay hidden. Her research skills are inspirational to all librarians but one must be wary of what your talents discover,

This book spun twists upon twists, I was gripped at every corner and really enjoyed reading this book, cannot wait to see where the author takes us next.

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. This was a fun read, with similarities to the likes of "Get Out" and "The Housemaid". Lots of twists and turns that kept my attention from start to finish!

Compelling in every way! This book grabs you immediately, drawing you into a whirlwind of twists and dynamic characters that keep you turning pages. The perfect mix of suspense and insight leaves you craving more with every chapter, and the underlying message really hits home. I can’t recommend it enough!

This book had me hooked and at times the twists just kept coming. The ending was totally out there and I never remotely suspected it. This is my first book by this author but definitely read another.

Absolutely fantastic plot! Could not put the book down once I began reading it. I am so glad it has been released. I will recommend it to everyone I know!

The Family Lies is a pretty good psychological thriller. This book is one that I would personally recommend reading vs audiobook unless you are really paying attention. This book has a lot going on with all the twists and turns. I wasn't a huge fan of the ending but I think it is still worth the read.

A brilliant fast paced read that had me hooked from the very first page I found it so hard to put it down.
