I got a digital galley copy of this book via NetGalley. I really enjoyed reading the book.

What I liked:

- The fundamental concept of the book, while not being groundbreaking or surprisingly insightful, the way the book has been presented makes it a great read. The stories in every single chapter makes for interesting reading and keeps the reader engaged.

What could have been different:

- There was a lot of rhetoric that could have been edited out. Sometimes, it feels a bit repetitive.

Overall, given the current environment that we are living in, the books issues a good reminder to get back to the fundamentals and be more human.

I have had a strong interest in this book's topic for many years and return to office after Covid-19 has heightened my drive for insight into interpersonal relationships in the workplace. The author uses personal experiences to highlight traditional responses to awkward workplace situations and ways to think proactively on how we can react to better work with others in the future. I know it can be easy to reply quickly in the workplace, but reading this book has given me some practical ways to respond to stressful situations in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an ARC of this book.
