This was my kiddos first Narwhal and Jelly book and they absolutely adored it! The writing definitely encourages your best narrator voice! This book had my kids giggling the whole time. Can’t wait to pick up other Narwhal and Jenny books! Thank you NetGalley, Tundra Book Group, and the author for an ARC!

"This Book is Dangerous!" is the first interactive picture book based on the wildly popular "Narwhal and Jelly" series.
Join Jelly as he journeys throughout the ocean, finding dangers along the way in the form of sea snakes, cannons, and a host of other dangerous things!
My kids LOVE Narwhal and Jelly, and this interactive picture book was pure fun, featuring our favorite anxious jellyfish. I loved how the readers get involved in the story - when Jelly says DON'T do something, like be loud or shake the book, you just have to, right? While Jelly encounters dangers, this book ends in the sweetest way.
I can see this becoming a favorite in our house, and I can't wait to get a physical copy. This would be great for reading to one or two children or as a read aloud to a class.
Thank you to Tundra Book Group and NetGalley for early access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

A Narwhal and Jelly picture book?? Count me in!
It's exactly the waffle-y goodness you would expect from such a beloved duo! This addition to the series is very interactive and is going to make a fabulous read aloud for younger audiences.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

While not particularly impressive or astounding writing, young fans of either the Narwhal & Jelly board books or graphic novels, will enjoy this picture book featuring one of their favorite characters. The implied interactive component is quite fun, making this a great read-aloud for young fans, but be prepared to put on your best stressed and panicked Jelly voice.

Great book to introduce littler kids to Narwhal and Jelly. Perfect interactive story and will make a great read aloud as well as an example of 2nd person. Does hint to a follow up with perhaps getting to know Narwhal. Very true to the Narhwal and Jelly brand.

Narwhal and Jelly are in a picture book! This is such a fun read and will make for a very fun and interactive storytime experience. I can see this working well with bigger groups as well as for one-on-one reads. The pictures are exciting and readers who have been introduced to Narwhal and Jelly in their graphic novels will be excited to see these characters in a new format.
Thank you to NetGalley and Tundra Book Group for providing the eARC to review!

3 stars!
Fans of There's a Monster in Your Book will love a Narwhal and Jelly themed version, but those that aren't familiar with Narwhal and Jelly will struggle. The illustrations are cute and engaging, but I felt overall the book was pretty scary for it's target audience (also to be expected with a tite of "This Book is Dangerous"). Definitely did not have the same engaging fun factor as There's a Monster in Your Book, but my son thought the hot sauce page was very funny.

Fans of Narwhal and Jelly will love this adorable and interactive picture book adventure!
Jelly is NOT a fan of danger, and attempts to escape. But as he is chased down, shot out of a cannon, and eaten, he becomes more and more determined to escape his fate (especially that the reader keeps inflicting).
I loved this picture book - I am a fan of the Narwhal and Jelly graphic novels (they are incredibly popular amongst my students), and I love a picture book where the character is interacting with the audience. This makes for a really fun reading experience for kids, or even a great time as a read aloud. I love the combination of silly and 'danger' that Jelly gets into, and I loved the cameo of Narwhal in the end.
I would 100% buy this for my library!

I love Narwhal and Jelly and was very excited to see that a picture book about the characters was here! It has great interactive humor and will keep readers engaged until the end. I'd recommend this book for first graders and up.

Reminiscent of books like the Don’t Let the Pigeon series and The Monster at the End of This Book - the main jellyfish is bargaining with the reader to help him and not turn pages, etc.
Cute illustrations, my kids are iffy on this style, they want to add in their own responses and get disappointed with what happens but were tickled with the hot sauce page.
Worth the quick read if the little isn’t very sensitive to scary themes or characters getting hurt, etc. best for age range 3-6.

Thank you to Tundra Book Group and Netgalley for this ARC to review. All opinions are my own.
Narwhal and Jelly fans will be ecstatic to learn of this picture book companion to their favorite series. True to Clanton's form, this book has all the graphics, humor, and engagement you've come to know and love. Teachers will appreciate this option for a fun read aloud and students won't be able to resist *not* keeping quiet and *not* sitting still despite Jelly's pleas. Excited to add this one to our school's collection! It'll be flying off the shelves for sure.

Delightfully breaks the 4th wall while continuously leveling up the oceanic danger.
Great for storytimes.

Not my fav, but cute artwork. But at least it was silly which I sorta liked
not sure anymore about this one. The story was simple but not
really a messenge to the book.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of This Book is Dangerous! by Ben Clanton. The Narwhal and Jelly series is one of our best circulating graphic novels and this is a wonderful picture book version of the series! Ben Clanton is a hilarious writer and I'm so excited to see this adapted to picture books. The art is amazing as always and we will definitely be adding this to our picture book collection.

A cute enough, semi-interactive storybook, featuring Jelly. The art is true to the graphic novels, and the story is simple and silly.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. I will purchase for my library and share with the kids.

A modern retelling of "There's a Monster at the End of this Book". Narwhal and Jelly are loved characters by my elementary students and I know they'll love this story that has interactive elements included throughout. Colorful illustrations and graphic writing will make this a fan favorite.

As someone who loves the Narwhal and Jelly chapter books, I’m so excited to see a picture book version geared toward younger readers! The title alone—This Book is Dangerous—is enough to grab any kid’s attention, and Jelly’s dramatic “I’ve got to get out of here!” line is just begging to be read in a silly voice. I can already picture the giggles.
This book is a perfect pick for fans of Mo Willems’ Pigeon or Elephant and Piggie series—funny, expressive, and full of character. It’s sure to become a read-aloud favorite.

A fun picture book to get younger readers interested in the world of Narwhal and Jelly. I love how Jelly's comments encourage children to do exactly what he is asking them not to do, thereby making the story proceed exactly how it is supposed to. I think my daughter would have had a blast with this book when she was younger.

This book is so perfect for a read along. I love the interactive nature and paired with all the twists and turns it is bound to have little ones in giggles. Narwhal and Jelly are such awesome characters. It is great to see them introduced to a younger reading audience.
