I'm torn on this one honestly. I wanted to love it. I read Beautifully Damaged the Indie version months ago and fell in love with it. So when I found out that Lucien's story was coming out I was beyond excited because I really liked his character. Although, I do love Lucien now that I got to read his full story it's the delivery of the book I was a little disappointed with.

I know every author has their way of writing a book and in no way am I telling anyone how they should write but I am entitled to my opinion. For me, this book had too much going on. I mean Trace and Ember had their story told in Beautifully Damaged so I think this book should of just focused on Lucien and Darcy. The multiple POV's which were not in first person is a little hiccup for me. I'm not a fan of third person reads especially if there is going to more than one character to follow.

It's all connected, I know, it's what connects the characters and brings the story to life but it was a little much for me. I liked the book, yes, a lot (I know that probably doesn't make sense but I really did). After getting over my little pet peeves and quirks I loved Lucien and Darcy's journey. It was emotional, heartbreaking and the passion and chemistry between them was beautiful. It was such an emotional rollercoaster.

This book is filled with love, suspense, heartache, twists and turns you will not be expecting. What I really do love about this book is that L.A. Fiore was able to draw me in emotionally and that's a biggie for me when reading. I want to feel the emotions the characters are experiencing. When they are hurting, I want to feel their pain. When they are sad and heartbroken, I want to cry along with them. When they are happy and content, I want to be smiling too. And she totally did that. That's what got me, that pull you feel when reading is what made me look past the little stuff and really love this book.

Do I recommend reading this book? Yes, absolutely. It truly is a great read of raw emotion, heartache and second chances. I'm just a little picky especially considering the first book in the serious was absolutely amazing but this one was just written differently. However, I did enjoy the story line and fell more in love with Lucien. So yes, if you haven't read it add it to the list.
