You thought she was safe. You were wrong . . .
Lauren can't wait to see her daughter again, to pick her up from university at the end of her first term. But when she arrives at her hall and knocks at room 309, a stranger opens the door.
For a few minutes, Lauren assumes she must have the wrong room, or the wrong floor. Maybe even the wrong building.
But she soon discovers the Evie's not there. She hasn't been there for weeks. So where is she?
My Opinion
From the opening chapter, this thriller had me hooked. A fast-paced, gripping novel with plenty of twists. A brilliant read.
Rating 4/5

This was a fast paced story full of twists and turns. It was immediately engaging and the pace didn’t let up until the end. I enjoyed the story though it was a little far fetched in places.

Another cracking read from one of my favourite authors. Many thanks to NetGalley, Bonnie’s Books and T.M. Logan for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Daughter’ in return for my honest review.
I was enthralled from the start. Lauren drives to pick up her daughter Evie at the end of her first term at university. On arrival she discovers there is somebody else in her room and nobody seems to know where her daughter is.
A university official held Lauren but she finds herself in a desperate search. Cleverly plotted with several twists and turns it is an addictive read.
Highly recommended

Another cracking read from T.M.Logan. Being a parent is hard—but nothing could have prepared Lauren Wingfield for the nightmare that unfolds when she turns up at her daughter’s university accommodation, only to find Evie gone and someone else living in her room. With the university mostly deserted for the holidays, Lauren scrambles to find answers. A university official reveals Evie dropped out of her course in November—but Lauren had spoken to her just the day before. What’s going on?
As Lauren desperately searches for her daughter, secrets begin to unravel—not just Evie’s, but Lauren has a secret of her own. With her 12-year-old son Lucas by her side, the search becomes a journey full of revelations, lies, and chilling discoveries.
Told from both Lauren’s current-day perspective and Evie’s own voice over the previous nine months, this psychological thriller is layered, emotionally tense, and incredibly hard to put down. The alternating timelines are used effectively, gradually revealing a much more complex story than it first appears.
This is a well-paced, twisty read full of emotion, suspense, and surprises. A few developments I saw coming (call me suspicious!), but that didn’t take away from the tension or the emotional depth. If you enjoy domestic thrillers with a strong emotional core and believable characters, this one is for you.
Thank you to #netgalley and #HeadofZeus for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review, all thoughts and opinions are my own and have not been influenced in any way.

What a completely obsessive read that i just could not put down its one of them thriller reads where your like just one more chapter ok just one more chapter and before you no it you've binged the whole entire book

Well that was a hell of a ride. Twisty psychological thriller, by TM Logan, you can’t go wrong. Just be prepared for that unsettled feeling to stay with you like a squatter.

This was a twisty suspenseful thriller. This was very scarily realistic in that this is happening all over the world at this very moment and shows how easy it is to be manipulated and coerced into doing things you wouldn't normally. Lauren was a very resilient character and showed the lengths a parent will go to when they believe their child is in danger. I couldn't put this down and flew through it racing through the roller coaster ride this took me on. This was shocking and twisty and I had no idea if they would all make it out alive. I highly recommend.

Many thanks to NetGalley, publishers and author for an ARC of The Daughter.
T.M. Logan has the art of writing a suspense thriller to a T. This book is no different. Another great book from this author. My only criticism is that I found myself slightly confused at a couple of points when I wasn't sure if we had learned information pertaining to the story, or were yet to learn it and we had just jumped straight into a situation.
Highly Recommend.

There were lots of twists and turns in this, it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I really enjoyed this story

I went in expecting a taut, twisty thriller centered on the disappearance of Evie, a university student, when her mum Lauren arrives to pick her up for Christmas and finds she’s vanished—her room occupied by a stranger, her phone off, no one knowing where she is, and her course purged from university records
a parent’s worst nightmare—is drowned by an avalanche of secondary threads, underdeveloped characters, and twists that miss their mark. Instead of tightening the tension, the story collapses under its own weight, leaving your initial intrigue feeling unfulfilled.

What a dark tense read and so easily relatable, which makes it unnerving too!
The plot of this thriller is tangled and yet tight, the storyline making compulsive reading. I was left wondering what I would do in Lauren’s place, that is what, in my opinion, makes it such a fabulous read.
Written from two POVs, mostly Lauren’s but with some chapters offering Evie’s and involving two timelines as well, I was trying to figure out the why’s and what was going on.
Tim writes so effectively, placing the reader at the heart of the action and sharing the anxiety and desperation of both Lauren, and her son Lucas, as they try to unravel the events.
If you want a character driven, fast paced, intense read, then this is it!

T.M. Logan never disappoints~
I devoured this - and was then disappointed that I'd finished it so fast!
I loved that the author, being a man, was ablet to write from a female perspective so well and was able to capture the full scope of a mother who will go out of her way to do whatever it takes for her children, especially when they're threatened.
Once again, this one will keep you up late into the night as you keep reading, needing to know how things will end1

This book was such a great read. I absolutely love T.M Logan and have read several of his thrillers. This was fast paced, pack with twists, some more interesting and guessable than others. Plenty of emotions, I wanted to scream at some parts and cry at others.
I would recommend this book and pick up more of this author’s work. A good go to author if you are in need of a thriller.

4.5
Another great book by one of my favourite authors. This book was enjoyable from start to finish and maintained my attention throughout. I liked how it kept us guessing right until the end. I also enjoyed the concept and the university setting.

Lauren packed her daughter Evie off to university in the September. Now as the first term ends she arrives with her son to collect Evie. As she knocks on the door of her accommodation she discovers a stranger residing there.
It appears Evie dropped out of her course many weeks ago and no one knows where she is.
Lauren must now use her wits to piece together the clues to track down what has happened to Evie. Often putting herself and Lucas in danger in her search.
TM Logan has given us another great read in a book you won’t want to put down.

Thank you Netgalley, Bonnier Books UK | Zaffre and T.M. Logan for the eArc of The Daughter.
I have read a few of TM Logan's books in the past and have really enjoyed them so I was really looking forward to this one. The Daughter is a medium paced mystery thriller with some nice psychological elements. After all, what would you do if your Daughter wasn't at Uni were you left her several months before hand?
I really enjoyed the duel POV and slightly different timelines which gives time for some good insight of who are FMC's are. We have Lauren, Mum and protector and Evie. Both POV's nicely entwine to give a backing story of the relationship between the two of them and the journey of finding Evie. This is a fast read with is immersive and you won't want to put it down!
This book is also narrated by Louise Brealey who did a great job in bringing this book alive.

T.M. Logan is one of my go to authors and this one didn’t disappoint. It’s a fast paced thriller that had me hooked and engaged from start to finish. There is many a twist and turn to keep you guessing. There are both likeable and unlikeable characters. It’s a well developed storyline along with well developed characters. It all came together well with all questions answered and loose ends tied up. Definitely a good read.

I've read quite a few T.M. Logan books now and he's quickly become a must-read author for me.
First and foremost, this story completely grabbed me and drew me in. In fact, the strongest part had to be the start when we're put in Lauren's shoes as she searches for Evie at the university.
The chapters from Evie's POV were interspersed nicely, allowing you to understand how she got herself into the situation that she did. And it kept my attention the whole way through.
I also really liked Lucas and his personality, as well as how he got involved in the search. The part where he was left behind at the hotel really had my stomach in knots for a minute.
It did drag a tiny bit in the middle but soon picked up
While I had a feeling that a certain character wasn't really dead I didn't anticipate the twist at the end. And I enjoyed the way that it was all wrapped up, even if it did become a bit far-fetched.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another brilliant page turner by TM Logan. I read this book in one sitting as I didn't want to put it down!
