Going to collect her daughter at the end of her first term at university Lauren Wingfield discovers a complete stranger in her daughter's room. No one remembers seeing Evie and the university claims she dropped out weeks ago. All of this is news to Lauren.
You just know that as soon as you see a book written by author T. M. Logan you are in for a treat, a thrill ride filled with unexpected twists and turns. For fans, and new readers, The Daughter, will not disappoint.
Although I'm not a parent it was impossible not to put myself in Lauren's position and feel the joy and excitement of having her eldest child home after her first term at university. Phone calls, text messages and social media posts have been sporadic but Lauren simply put that down to a student lifestyle of studying and partying. The shock and bewilderment of finding a stranger in her daughter's room is completely understandable.
Frustration follows as Lauren can't make sense of the situation. The stranger is adamant it's been his room since the second week of term and the girl in the room next-door doesn't remember Evie. The frustration deepens when Lauren feels that the authorities don't believe her. Determined to find answers, Lauren starts following the few clues available to her. The more she digs, the murkier the situation becomes. The pace of the story never lets up as it becomes a race against time. Lives are in peril and a face from the past reappears as Lauren risks everything looking for answers about what happened to her daughter.

Book Review: The Daughter by T.M. Logan
I’ve just finished The Daughter by T.M. Logan, and wow, what a ride! This book had me hooked from the very first page. I’m always on the lookout for a thriller that can keep me guessing, and Logan definitely delivered.
The story centers around Lauren, a mother who’s excited to pick up her daughter, Evie, at the end of her first term at university. But when she arrives at Evie’s dorm and knocks on the door, a stranger answers. At first, Lauren assumes she’s got the wrong room or building, but it quickly becomes clear that something much darker is going on. Evie has been gone for weeks, and no one knows where she is.
From that moment, the suspense builds at a relentless pace. Lauren’s search for her daughter spirals into a nightmare as she uncovers secrets that no one could have predicted. I won’t spoil the details, but trust me when I say that the twists in this book kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, Logan would throw in another curveball that completely changed my perspective.
What I really appreciated about The Daughter was how well Logan developed the characters. Lauren’s desperation to find her daughter felt so real and relatable, and her emotional journey was what really kept me invested in the story. As she digs deeper into Evie’s life, she discovers things about her daughter that she never could have imagined, and it makes you question how well we really know the people closest to us.
The pacing of the book is perfect—there’s always something happening, and the tension never lets up. It’s the kind of thriller that makes you want to read just one more chapter, but before you know it, you’ve read the whole book in one sitting. The writing is sharp, and Logan really knows how to craft a gripping story with plenty of twists and turns.
If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers or family dramas with a dark edge, then The Daughter is definitely one to pre-order. It’s an intense, heart-pounding story that will keep you questioning everything until the very end. I loved it and can’t wait to see what Logan comes up with next!
Rating: 5/5
T.M. Logan has once again proven why he’s one of the best in the thriller genre. The Daughter is a must-read for anyone who loves a twisty, unpredictable story.

T.M. Logan's latest thriller is a chilling exploration of the dark side of social media and the vulnerability of young people in today's hyper-connected world. The story takes us on a rollercoaster ride of suspense and intrigue as a mother desperately searches for her missing daughter.
The narrative masterfully blurs the lines between good and evil, keeping readers guessing until the very end. The characters are complex and relatable, each with their own secrets and motivations. The author's skillful use of twists and turns will leave you breathless, constantly questioning who to trust and what will happen next.
This book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a heart-pounding thriller that will stay with them long after they turn the final page. It's a cautionary tale that reminds us of the dangers lurking in the shadows of the internet and the importance of staying vigilant in protecting our loved ones.

I was so happy to be approved for this early copy and it really did not disappoint.
I’ve been struggling with thrillers recently but this one really was a good one. It had my attention from the first chapter and was held throughout and I really wasn’t sure where it was going to go. I may have had a very teeny tiny issue with the age of Lucas, at 12 I felt he was very old for his age but that didn’t take away any of the intensity or drama this book had.
As always would read anything by this author.

TM Logan delivers another enjoyable read with “The Daughter,” a gripping thriller that deals with one of every parents fears. a missing child.
Lauren is travels to her daughters university to collect Evie following the end of her first term. Lauren can’t wait to catch up with Evie but her her excitement turns to fear and confusion when she discovers that Evie hasn’t been staying in her dorm room for weeks. Lauren speaks to other students and staff but their vague answers only add to her confusion. Desperate to find her daughter, Lauren embarks on a relentless search for Evie which uncovers a trail of secrets and a feeling that she doesn’t know her daughter as well as she thought.
The novel is well written and is told at a excellent pace which keeps the reader gripped and wanting to know more. I enjoyed the character Lauren who showed determination and a maternal instinct in her quest to find Evie.
I would like to thank both Netgalley and Bonner Books UK for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Fantastic read. I cannot wait to purchase a copy to add to the rest of my T.M Logan collection. I very rarely will read books over and over, but I'm always happy to read Logan's books more than once. My bookclub enjoy them too.

A fast paced thriller read from this author which had me on the edge of my seat throughout
I have read all his books and enjoyed them including this one. I thought this was very different to his previous books, a bit gangsterish for me from the middle/ending but a thoroughly exciting read.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bonniere Books for this ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

I usually really enjoy books by TM Logan but this was nowhere close to normal standards.
I get so frustrated when books are described as shocking twist and turns.... I didn't see them! It was an bog standard thriller that can be read easily and quick with great writing and good characters. I personally really identified with being a mum losing their child via the teenage years and learning to let go.
I did have 1 major shock very close to the end, which I was pleased with and hadn't guessed so that was also on the positive side, but that was it really.
Sadly, I didn't enjoy the ending and would've loved to have known what happened to certain characters that felt forgotton about.
A basic run of the mill Thriller with good and bad. 3. 5 stars, rounded to 4. Thank you #NetGalley for the advanced copy.

Anything by tm Logan I love. Yet another amazing book that had me hooked from the very beginning! I couldn’t put this book down and enjoyed it so much!

Thank you for allowing me to review this book. I can highly recommend this gripping thriller. I was gripped from the beginning. T.M Logan does an excellent job of building the tension, and writing about issues that are currently concerns within our society
It was scary as a mother to find that your daughter was not where you expected her to be. . I'm sure that many young people are groomed and drawn into the underground crime scene. The characters felt real, who were the good guys, who were the bad guys? Some were not as I expected. I didn't anticipate all the twists and turns in the storyline. I was constantly hoping that Evie would be reunited with her mother. Lucas, her brother was definitely more clued up on the social media scene than many adults would be.
A must read for those who enjoy thrillers.

The Daughter is another edge of your seat thriller by T.M. Logan. I couldn’t put this one down!
Lauren goes to pick up her daughter, Evie, from her university hall of residence , only to find she’s nowhere to be found. A nightmare scenario for any parent and Laurens search for her daughter reveals a shocking story.
Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I'm a huge fan of T.M. Logan so I was very excited to be given the opportunity to read this ARC. This book has me hooked from the very beginning. It was fast paced, thrilling and contained a few great twists that I didn't see coming. The characters were were written, believable and captivating.
I sped through this book in about 24 hours because I couldn't put it down. Overall, I think it's T.M. Logan's best book yet! A must read.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest.

I always enjoy TM Logan's books so was keen to get to this one. I particularly enjoyed the first part of the book as we follow Lauren going to pick up her daughter but she's not there and there's no sign of her anywhere. I was intrigued about what might have happened and I couldn't read fast enough to find out. I did find I had to suspend disbelief much more as the book went on but by then I was hooked and had to keep reading. I did find the reveals a little predictable but I still enjoyed reading the book for the most part. I would recommend it.

A great book by TM Logan. It is one of her best books as I had fallen out with her most recent ones. The book was easy to read and fast paced and I whizzed through it to find the ultimate ending to a wayward daughter. Some parts were a little predictable but plenty of action to keep me interested. Thanks to Net Galley for an ARC.

I absolutely love, love, loved this book. I was completely hooked from the start right until the shocking end. Wow, what an end it was, you don’t see it coming. Just brilliant. I couldn’t put this book down.
An addictive action packed thriller. The story of a mother’s journey to find her missing daughter.
It has a fast paced gripping storyline that is cleverly written. The chapters are in the POV’s of the mother, Lauren in the present day and the daughter, Evie in flashbacks. The different timelines work well adding context and information. It’s full of twists, suspense, red herrings and a constant sense of unease that builds up the mystery. It’s definitely a rollercoaster of a read, plenty of emotions and you can feel the tension, suspense and fear throughout.
Betrayal, love and family secrets all add to the tension too.
The characters are well written, and so real. I especially liked Lucas as a character.
It’s engrossing and unputdownable. Well worth the read. I can’t wait to see what @tmlogan writes next. This author never disappoints. I highly recommend you read The Daughter if you enjoy this genre.

Wow! What an amazing book- in true Logan style. So gripping- I just couldn’t stop reading it. It was fast-paced and I didn’t see the twist coming! I can see this being on tv very soon too!

I really enjoyed this book. I totally identified with Lauren’s horror at finding her daughter missing and being clueless as to what had happened. The story developed really well and built to a fantastic conclusion. Recommended.

When Lauren arrives to collect her daughter Evie from university she finds someone else living in her room and that her daughter hasn’t been at university for a long time.
Lauren will stop at nothing to find out where her daughter is and why she has hiding the truth from her family.
A thriller that has plenty of twist and turns.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

An absolutely fabulous read! Very well written, fast paced and a brilliant plot. I could go on and on and on but I’m not that sort of reviewer. All I can say is my heart is still in my mouth and I’m trying to calm down. Just fantastic, and a very worthy 5 stars. Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publishers.

I have read and loved all of TM Logan 's psychological thrillers but this one is his best so far! Wow, it really hit home being a parent of a teenager in a similar situation.
When Lauren goes to pick Evie up from uni, all is not as it seems and Lauren goes on a mission! The language is so vivid and evocative my heart was in my mouth with tension and fear throughout, and it was almost a 1 sitting read for me. It just got too late for my eyes!
There are plenty of plot twists, a great collection of menacing characters and you're always wondering wh to trust. Absolutely fantastic. Add it to your MUST READ list for 2025.
