Cozy crime type book. And of course there is another crime to solve.
I've read the first book of this series and I did enjoy it. So this was just sort of a reintroduction again of this series. And I think it's nice because you're meeting up again with familiar characters.
so it's just a really nice easy to read and I think the addition of antiques into this has made it give it a little bit of an edge kind of a lovejoy style look

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
This is the second instalment featuring Freya and her Aunt Carol. This a cosy crime type book. And again they are on the hunt to solve a crime.
This series focuses around antiques, which would usually not really be of interest to me, but this series does make it a much more fun and interesting subject. the relationship between Freya and Aunt Carol is really great, and that relationship is what makes this book series such a joy to read. The story was well written, and this makes cosy crime a must read genre for me.

When a painting vanishes from a maritime museum and a dead body is found nearby, the newly established Lockwood Antique Hunter’s Agency, Freya Lockwood and her Aunt Carole, are called to investigate.
Following a lead that takes them aboard a glamorous antiques cruise sailing toward the Red Sea in Jordan, they quickly discover that the ships art gallery is filled with stolen antiquities. Each antique is also listed in Freya’s late mentor’s journals that detail unsolved cases. In chasing a murderer with a stolen painting, they may have found something more sinister than they could’ve imagined…
Their hunt soon turns deadly when they learn the enigmatic and dangerous art trafficker named The Collector could be on board. But on a ship full of antiques enthusiasts—plus some unexpected familiar faces—will Freya and Carole be able to discover the Collector’s identity and stop his murderous plans before the ship docks? Or will the killer strike again?
My Opinion
The Antique Hunter’s: Death on the Red Sea is the second book in The Antique Hunter’s Guide to Murder series and I would highly recommend reading the books in order. C.L. Miller has written a great sequel. It was lovely to catch up with some familiar characters. A quick, enjoyable read.
Rating 4/5

The second in the cosy crime series from a member of the UK’s foremost family of antiques. I thought the first book showed promise, but was slightly irritated by the main characters
and Aunt Carole. This wasn’t the case when they hit the Red Sea; it was a fun romp with perfectly measured amounts of peril dotted around mystery solving and having a jolly good time. An enjoyable, quick read.
My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley. This review was written voluntarily and is entirely my own unbiased opinion.

This book was exactly what I felt like at the time! Thank you for the advance reading copy, I think a lot of our customers will enjoy this book too. Can't wait to recommend it.

I was intrigued by the first in the series but having read book number 2, I think I am done with the combination of antiques and murders, it is a bit too cosy crime for me personally.

I thorughly enjoyed this book. as it's well plotted, the mystery is full of surprises and twists, and entertaining. . I liked the good storytelling was glad to catch up with the fleshed out characters
Highly Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

What a great sequel!
A cosy crime thriller, packed with murder, betrayed and lies.
Freya and her aunt Carole find themselves hunting stolen antiques on the Red Sea. Throw in some familiar faces and this is a great read.

This is the second in this cosy mystery series and I really enjoyed this.
The story starts off slow but soon speeds up, when the mystery sees Freya and Aunt Carole hunting for a stolen picture on a cruise ship.
My only gripe was that there were a lot of characters on the ship and it was hard for me to keep track of who was who., which is why I’m scoring it 3 stars.
This is an otherwise a solid mystery and the main characters are likeable and real.
Thanks most go to the publisher and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for my review.

This is a fun, entertaining read in which the adventures of Freya and her aunt Carole continue with their newly-established stolen antique finding agency.
In the 2nd book of this series, Freya and Carole are tasked with finding a missing painting which was taken from a nearby museum, where an unidentified murder victim was left. Certain clues have been found and they find themselves urgently departing for a Red Sea cruise to Jordan, to meet up with with some very unsavoury and potentially dangerous antique dealers and collectors.
The locations are interesting and well described. The characterisation is mostly good, although there is a preponderance of white, greedy, nasty men who seem somewhat interchangeable - although perhaps this is the point since we don't know who is the mysterious lynchpin known as "The Collector" until close to the end. There is some action - a few chases and some undercover surveillance, and the incipient romance between Freya and undercover FBI agent Phil shows no sign of abating.
Overall, 3.5 stars rounded up because sometimes the dialogue didn't flow too well and I had to re-read bits to understand them. A good story and worth the a read.

This is the second book in the Antique Hunter's series and I am glad to have Freya and her Aunt Carole back with another adventure this time at exotic locations and an Indiana Jones vibe.
Freya and her Aunt Carole have set up the Lockwood Antique Hunter's Agency and take on their first case when a painting goes missing from a local museum and a dead body is found nearby. Their investigation leads them on an antiques cruise sailing through Egypt and Jordan.
I enjoyed this one more than the first book with the stakes a bit more higher in this one and a lot more action than the first. The author with her knowledge of antiques brings a fresh twist to the mystery genre and as someone with limited knowledge, I found the introduction to the world of antiques fascinating. Aunt Carole with her charm and sharp wit and Freya with her dedication and determination make this a clever, woman centric storyline more entertaining and heartwarming.
With a cosy setting of a cruise ship, plenty of suspects and surprising twists, this made for a thoroughly enjoyable read.
Thank you @panmacmillan and @netgalley for the digital ARC to read and review.

While this was a thoroughly enjoyable read, it lacked the finesse of the first in series. There were a couple of plot inconsistencies, and the decision for this British-set story to be written in American English distracted me from the story (was the first in US English? I don't think so? In which case, the inconsistency is inexplicable). This aside, the story was fun and, as in the first book, the author's knowledge of antiques added authenticity to the story.

i thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have not read the first in the series and after reading this have ordered it. What better accolade. I found the characters and the plot extremely interesting. Lots of twists and turns and I enjoyed the context both on a cruise ship and within the antiques world. A very enjoyable read

This time we find our unexpected detectives, Freya Lockwood and her Aunt Carole on the high seas, searching for a picture.
A painting is missing from a maritime museum and a body has been found nearby. This leads Freya and Carole onto a cruise ship. It's theme week is antiques and as they sail towards the Red Sea, it seems the picture is going to show them the clues to the mystery.
However the ship's art gallery is holding its own secrets and Freya has the information which could solve a number of mysteries, but will she solve everything before she finds herself in danger.
This is the second novel in what is becoming a cosy crime series, with its background in antiques. An interesting premise and one that became complicated in parts similar to the first novel which I admit to struggling with.
However, the second novel seems to have ironed some of this out and the familiarity of the characters of Freya and Carole as well as their helper Sky, who has her own skills to bring to the mystery solving party makes this a more interesting second novel.
Plenty of clues, red herrings, antiques and funny moments that will entertain any fan of cosy crime fiction.

A cosy mystery set on board a cruise ship sailing through the Red Sea. Freya and her aunt Carole have newly set up their Antique Hunters Agency and are tasked with tracking down a stolen painting linked to a murder. Their leads bring them onboard ship , where they discover an art gallery onvoard bursting with stolen treasures. It seems the legendary thief, known as The Collector , is on the ship. As Freya and Carole close in on the truth, danger and further deatg threaten to descend. A fun cosy mystery. #theantiquehuntersdeathontheredsea #clmiller #netgalley

'The Antique Hunter's: Death on the Red Sea' by C L Miller.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved this book. It had everything adventure, murder on the high sea, antiques and suspense. I love the twist at the end and I can't wait for the next one in the series. If you're a fan of cozy crime and antiques then give this series a read.

Thanks for the NetGallery UK, the publishers and the author for letting me read a copy in return for an honest review.

Freya and Aunt Carole return for another adventure following the second of Arthur's journals from book 1 (Antique Hunter's Guide to Murder), this time supported by computer whizz/hacker Skye. Freya has been invited to be a guest expert on a cruise ship around the Mediterranean, and it would seem that Arthur set it up before his death, and although someone has cancelled her invite, a theft from a local art gallery soon shows that the ship is a lead. But when they get on board, all is not as it seems and they soon discover the FBI is involved again, complete with Phil from book 1, who is on the hunt for a mysterious person known only as The Collector.
This was another fun adventure with Freya and Carole, this time on board a ship with vibes of Death on the Nile, only more cozy crime. I enjoyed the misdirections and little twists throughout and although I had enjoyed book 1, I felt this was even better. It's a nice easy read, but the red herrings and multiple POV story which means we know more than the characters do kept it interesting.
I'm looking forward to book 3, which presumably will be featuring more of Bella and a Scottish mystery!
Thanks to Netgalley for a free ARC in return for an honest review.

A painting vanishes and a dead body is found near where it used to hang. Freya and Aunt Carole are called to investigate and the end up on a cruise in the Red Sea as antiques experts. They end up in Jordan. There seems to be a lot of stolen antiques on board and more dead bodies. There are some unexpected familiar faces as well. Loved it

I love this series. Our second book takes us on the high seas in the quest to recover stolen artifacts.
Lots of fun.

This welcome and highly anticipated sequel to The Antique Hunter's Guide to Murder will delight CL Miller's growing army of cosy crime fans. An engaging cast of characters, fascinating attention to detail regarding the seedy underworld of antiques and all set against the stunning backdrop of the Red Sea and the ancient city of Petra. Can't wait to see where Freya and Aunt Carole head next!
