SIMON SERRAILLER FACES HIS MOST DANGEROUS CHALLENGE YET
Going undercover, he must leave town immediately, change his identity and sever all contact with friends and family.
And, more importantly, he must inhabit the mind of the worst kind of criminal.
But can he do so without losing everything?

*3.5 stars*

Following this series has been a bit up and down. Just when I thought I had a good grasp on Simon and his family, it certainly came crashing down around my ears in this book...and in a good way.

On the professional front, Simon's relationship with Rachel is in danger as he has to infiltrate a paedophile ring and help bring it to an end. While the topic is certainly horrifying, the author brings a touch of sensitivity and humanity to the prose that does touch the edge of the "ikky" feeling this theme usually presents.

The thing that stopped this being a better rating was the idea of such a high-profile, media-exposure officer going undercover seems unlikely. It makes that whole part of the plot hard to swallow. Don't get me wrong, it is written very well, I just don't know if I completely "bought" it.

Is this is a great book in the Simon Serrailler series? Absolutely!
IS it the best one so far? Debatable...
