What a delightful story. Lots of compelling characters in the beautiful surroundings of Greece, The story covered many aspects of family and life and ended with a triumphant conclusion.

This story has an amazing setting and I felt I was on the island with the characters, feeling the heat of the sun and the coolness of the water as I went on the journey with Kaz. It’s a story of heartbreak, family secrets, hope, strength and the chance of love. An uplifting story that will stay with me. An ideal summer read.

This book made me want to hop on a ferry to a Greek Island. The sights and sound details were absolutely lovely and I could picture what greek life must be. It made the story that much more fun to read.
Kat goes away to a greek island after her twin is killed in a car accident. She needs to go to claim a house that was left to her by her late uncle that she didn't know about. She uses her time there to write about grief while also restoring the house. What she finds is a big beautiful life in this unexpected location. I love these books where the community comes together to welcome new comers and make them feel welcome. The ending of this book was just lovely and had me a little teary eyed but smiling.

This is another beautifully written story, a rocky, emotional journey from the agony of loss, the grief in learning long buried secrets, and the slow, difficult climb to overcome the wounds, to find forgiveness. When Kat discovers the secrets her friends and family have kept from her she is hurt and angry Her sounding board is the island priest who always seems to be there just when those feelings threaten to totally overwhelm her. He helps her to understand and work through the feelings and in doing so, Kat finds a strength she didn't know she had, eventually working her way toward acceptance and finding joy and love.

There is a special, poetic quality to Emma Cowell's writing. She paints pictures with her words. The beauty of the Greek islands comes alive in her descriptions of colors and smells so that you I can almost feel the breeze in my face as I'm reading, catch the scents of the grilling meat and baking sweets. By using background settings such as storms or sunsets, clouds or clear skies, Ms Cowell enhances the emotions of the story so they are not just felt, they are experienced. It's simply impossible not to be entranced by the setting, the characters and the warmth, compassion and sincerity of this story.

Under the Lemon Tree is a story of family drama and secrets with a dash of romance. Kat is struggling with the recent loss of her twin brother when she finds out she has inherited a house on the Greek island of Agistri from an uncle she never knew. Kat leaves London and heads to Agistri to hopefully heal from her recent loss and the feelings of betrayal by her family. I loved the Greek island setting. This was such a lovely story! The details were so good that I could really imagine myself in Greece. A little bit slow at times, but overall it was a nice, easy read, perfect for summertime.

It was amazing and engaging.
I was instantly sucked in by the atmosphere and writing style.
The characters were all very well developed .
The writing is exceptional and I was hooked after the first sentence.

A romance set in the present time in London and the Greek Island of Agistri. Katerina is separated from her husband, Jamie and lives with her parents. Her twin brother Nikolas died in a car accident 6 months ago and Katerina is deeply grieved over his death.

Katerina’s life changes when she is left a cottage that belonged to her uncle. The cottage is on Agistri, a Greek Island. Katerina travels to Agistri and starts to renovate the cottage. She writes about her experience on the Island and her struggles with grief.

I loved the way Katerina discovers her families’ secrets as she gets to know the housekeeper and other people she meets on the Island.

This was about families, grief, secrets and writers.

I read this over a couple of days. Beautiful book - while there is tragedy and secrets at it's centre, the book is also filled with friendship, hope and love.

This is a lovely book, full of warmth and friendship. Kat goes through the most unimaginable trauma, losing her twin brother in a car accident. Inheriting a house on the Greek island of Agistri comes as a huge surprise. As she and her mother discover more about the island, hearts are healed. Lovely descriptions of the island. Soon after his death her marriage falls apart, she inherits a house from a long lost uncle in Greece and decides to go there to find some peace in her life. While in Greece, she meets her neighbor, a very attractive man, who happens to be single and wealthy. During the course of self-discovery, Kat finds out a devastating secret about her mom. This book moved at a very slow pace, and I found myself bored while reading. It took me almost a month to read it because I just couldn't get into it. I rate this book a 3 out of 5 stars.

My biggest problem with Emma Cowell books is that I read them too quickly! Another wonderful read.

Kat is at a turning point in her life, her marriage is over and her darling twin brother recently passed away. She feels everyone in her life is making decisions for her as they don’t want her to be upset. Something has to change, but she doesn’t know what….

Then out of the blue news comes from Greece that a relative she had no idea existed, has left her their house in their will. She has to travel there to sign the paperwork, so why not take an extended break and see what Greece has to offer.

Little did she know how many secrets she is about to discover about her beloved family!

A fabulous read, a must for the summer, I’ve read it sitting in the British sunshine, wishing I was in Greece.
Emma’s books always have a knack of transporting you to Greece from the comfort of home, the sights, the sounds, the smell and the tastes.

A great read, with interesting characters, a bit few

A must for your summer reading list.

A new author for me but I adore nothing set in Greece and this. Ok lived up to my expectations. It follows Kat, she was a twin but her brother was tragically killed by a drunk driver. Her life was turned upside down and her Greek family are usually comforting but alongside her friends are starting to smother her. She needs a break and when an unexpected inheritance turns up from an unknown uncle, she finds herself heading to Greece. Could this summer in the sun be what she needs to heal? A beautiful tale of love, family, loss and new beginnings, this book kept me captivated to the end. Thank you to NetGalley, Avon Books UK and the author for the chance to review.

This story had a lovely setting on a Greek island. The descriptions made me feel as though I was there soaking up the sunshine. Kat has a number of things to come to terms with, the loss of her twin and the way that family and friends try to organise her life, even though she is 37 years old. Kat finds herself inheriting a house on the island and she uses her time to redecorate and modernise the house, whilst writing how this has helped with her grieving. Having a handsome next door neighbour also helps, although they didn’t hit it off at first. There are a number of secrets that need to be told before a happy ending can be achieved. I enjoyed this story, it did have prejudice against certain members of society, a beautiful setting just right for romance and some emotional scenes. A very good read. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

She then finds out that she has inherited a house on the Greek island of Agistri from an uncle she has never met. She travels there to look at the house and to see if she can find out any more about him. On the way she keeps meeting Andreas and not on the best possible terms, she then finds out that he is her new next door neighbour.
I started reading this book just as a warm spell had finished here, going back to colder than normal spring weather and reading about sunshine on a Greek Island was a pleasant reminder of warmer days. I did struggle a bit with the main characters, Kat is very spiky, which is not unexpected with what she was going through, however Andreas kept blowing hot and cold on their relationship. The reason for this did become clearer as the story progressed, and his relationship with her uncle revealed itself. I did enjoy the story and the setting (and the description of the glorious Greek food), makes an ideal summer read or one to remind you of warmer times at other times if the year.

Then, she finds out that she’s been left a house, from an Uncle that she never met. In order for her to accept her inheritance she has to go to the house which is on the Greek island of Agistri.

Kat is aware that her Mum’s family live on that island, but, she’s also always been informed that no member of that family is alive. So why was she lied to?

Kat goes to the island of Agistri and she loves it at first sight and thinks that maybe being there will help her to start living her life the way she wants to.

The story was emotional, secrets were revealed that had been kept for a long time.

I loved the setting and the characters.

I highly recommend this book.

The beautiful setting of Greece brings this book to life and if you’re looking to be transported there then this book will do that for you.

This was a story with deep and difficult themes. Grief, bereavement and finding what you love gives the reader a range of emotions which I really enjoyed.

Kat is dealing with a lot in her life and she unexpectedly finds herself travelling to a small Greek island to take ownership of a house left to her by an uncle. As secrets are revealed Kat has to find a way to try and understand her family.

I loved the setting, you can imagine yourself there and as Kat meets the locals she finds herself falling in love with the new life.

An enjoyable read with such likeable characters and a setting second to none.

Really enjoyed this book of which I was my first from this author. The story is of love loss and family, Kat is devastated by the death of her brother, her twin Nik in a tragic car accident when a drunk driver hit them. When Kat finds she has inherited a her uncles house on a Greek island she travels there to make a new start.
