I really loved this book! The story of sisters at a crossroads swapping lives in what starts as a bet, but turns towards understanding each other was in turns hilarious, heartbreaking and heartwarming. The story was well paced and engagingly written - I finished it the same day I started it! Alice and Edie were great characters- both with distinct voices and flaws, but both easy to root for. The families of both were also fully realized characters that added to the depth of the story.

Loved this story all about twin sisters who make a bet to switch lives for a week, Found myself laughing out loud and smiling throughout this book… If you love cozy stories, some cute romance… this book is for you!

The Sister Switch was a fun and heartwarming read. The premise of twin sisters swapping lives is always entertaining, and this book delivered on that front. The story had its moments of humor and emotional depth, making it an enjoyable experience overall.
However, I felt that some parts of the story dragged a bit, and certain plot points were a bit predictable. While the characters were relatable, I wished for a bit more development in their arcs.
Overall, it’s a light and enjoyable read, perfect for fans of contemporary women’s fiction looking for something easygoing.

I enjoyed this humorous and emotional story with its chaotic laugh-out-loud moments and poignancy. I like the relatable characters, events and relationship dynamics that invest you in the women's lives.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

A funny, emotional and thought provoking story; the Sister Switch will have you turning the pages faster than you can imagine!

The Sister Switch by Charlotte Butterfield was such a unique and well written story!
This was truly a thought provoking and heartwarming read.
I was totally taken in and couldn’t wait to see how things would resolve.
A funny, emotional and thought-provoking story.

This is a hilarious, heartwarming, and thought-provoking story about a pair of twins, who, although look alike but couldn’t be more different than each other.
Alice and Edie agree to disagree on just about everything. Alice is a Stickler for rules while Edie is a carefree spirit. They were so different to each other that they were offered a slot in a TV show to showcase their contrasting views. When their relationship hits rock bottom, they make a daring bet: to swap lives and see who can last longer in the other’s world without getting caught. The catch was the winner quits the TV show. But what started as a bet slowly enlightens the sisters why their twin was the way they were.
I enjoyed reading this book and loved the twins. The children were adorable and Seb was such a green flag!
This book is a heartfelt celebration of sisterhood and family bonds—one you'll find yourself wanting to discuss with everyone you know.

I really enjoyed this story of sisterhood which made me laugh out loud several times. Warm, witty, funny and packed with love and great (mostly) likeable characters. The premise of switching intrigued me and I felt that the learning both sisters had about themselves and each other was just glorious. One to read for sure.

This book was just so hard to get into and the sister switching premise really caught my eye. But this book kinda just missed the mark. Not my fave...

When identical twin sisters find they can no longer understand one another and begin to argue more than they can get along, drastic measures must be taken. The Edie and Alice make a bet that the other could live last a week in their shoes. What ensues is a story that packed a bigger punch then I expected.
As I started reading, I felt like I didn't much care for either sister, however as they swapped places and began to have their eyes opened to the experiences the other lived daily, I found I really came to care about both sisters. Each sister went into the experiment believing one thing, and came out realizing how important relationships, and each other in particular were to each other.

this is such a warming and heartfelt read. i was wondering how you would ever get away with or work the actual swap but i needn't have. it was handled perfectly and it never came up to my mind again.
it felt like we were somehow really getting to know the characters ourselves. so things we might once assume of both sisters if we had read a story of JUST them was suddenly knocked away because we now saw things from their side, or the others side and vice versa. and this is what the girls also managed. they havent the greatest of relationship. they are a clickbait pair on air yes, but off it there is so much angst between them. but then once swapped they suddenly see what the other is going through. and in doing so we do too. and it truly is the case of you never truly know what people are going through unless you are in their shoes. in this case we all get to step into the other sisters shoes. and so did they.
the other characters in the book were just as fabulous if not more so. they added golden sunshine to the book. the dad and Sebastian were characters written and portrayed to perfection.
this book just a wonderful read. and so much better than i could have imagined.

Thank you Avon books for inviting me to review The Sister Switch
The funniest book I’ve read in 2025 so far—The Sister Switch is pure feel-good chaos in the best possible way. From laugh-out-loud moments to swoony mistaken-identity romance, this twin-swap adventure is as charming as it is ridiculous (in all the right ways). Sure, you’ll need to suspend a bit of disbelief, but once you do, you're in for a wild, warmhearted ride full of flirty banter, sisterly mayhem, and scenes that will have you grinning like a fool. Charlotte Butterfield nails the balance between lighthearted fun and genuine emotion, crafting characters you’ll want to hug (or shake, depending on the chapter). It’s the perfect read to toss in your pool tote or carry-on, especially if you’ve got a fruity drink in hand and want something delightfully escapist. If you’re in the mood for something easy, funny, and full of heart—this is the one.

This is a warm, funny, and sharply observed novel about two very different sisters—uptight, organized Alice and chaotic, free-spirited Edie—who swap lives. The result is both entertaining and heartfelt, as each woman is forced to re-evaluate her choices, roles, and relationships.
The strength of the book lies in its well-developed characters. Alice and Edie are believable, flawed, and relatable, with a bond that shines through their differences. The story handles family dysfunction with realism and humor, offering a refreshing take on sisterhood and motherhood. While the central premise of the switch stretches believability—especially with partners and children involved—the emotional journey makes it worthwhile.
Fast-paced and filled with both wit and heart, this is a smart, engaging read perfect for fans of character-driven fiction.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!
This book follows twin sisters who don’t see eye to eye and decide to swap places to get a better understanding of the other’s perspective. This book had so many fun moments and also really put into perspective what love looks like. It was a wonderful and fun read.

The Sister Switch
This was a cute read, a freaky-Friday with a sister twist!
I liked having a fun, lighthearted read about something different!
Twin sisters, who are opposites in every way, decide to trade lives with each other. Prim and proper, over scheduled social media influencer Alice trades place with fun-loving, go with the flow, no structure Edie.
Their journey was fun to read! I reccomend!

This book was hilarious! This one hit the mark for me. It features two identical twin sisters who have virtually no understanding of the intricacies of each other's daily lives. They decide to switch places, and the results are more than either ever bargained for. The story also touches on some serious and thought-provoking topics, which could make it an interesting choice for a book club discussion. However, it isn't so serious that it prevents you from getting through it quickly. I loved it!

This was my first read from this author, and I'm glad I took the chance.
The storyline of married twin sisters, swapping places was interesting, and the fact that their relationship wasn't the best fueled my entertainment.
Alice and Edie have very different personalities, and sharing a career in morning television adds to the awareness of that. It was a little odd to me that they would decide to swap places after their fight, but it sets both of them off on their journeys of personal growth, which is desperately needed.
The story moves along, but I had a bit of issue surrounding the swap, and the husbands, and why you would even want this in the first place, but I enjoyed my read, and recommend the book.
My ARC was provided by Netgalley, and I voluntarily leave my review.

I loved this! Both main characters were easy to identify with, and I loved that they were twins, yet so different.
After I got over my own initial disappointment that there was no freaky Friday magic involved, I really got absorbed into the story. Alice is so easily identifiable, I recognised traits in myself, I could totally understand where she was coming from, and how over the years she had come to believe that she really was invisible and only there to serve. It was nice to see her switch with her sister and get a different taste of life, it was not only eye opening for Alice but for me too.
Edie thought her sister had it all, and loved to be super organised and in control, but during the swap she saw just how wrong she was, she saw her sister who was drowning and needed help. She also saw just how great her life was and how working all hours was meaning she was missing out on time with her girls and Seb. I loved her and Sebs relationship ( even though we get to see most of it while it’s Alice pretending to be Edie) they share so much, there is strong and pure, it helps Alice see just how little love she has in her life.
I loved this so much, especially when it’s only their dad who notices that they’ve switched, and he just happily goes along with it! Rock and roll dad!!

A fun, heartwarming read about twin sisters who swap lives on a dare—and uncover more than they bargained for. Packed with humor, chaos, and surprising emotional depth, this story blends family drama with feel-good charm. Perfect for fans of light fiction with heart.

An absolute gem! This is genuinely laugh out loud, clever and heartwarming all at the same time.
Identical twin sisters Edie and Alice just don’t see eye to eye, typical of siblings right? But as time goes on the twins relationship spirals downwards, is there anything they can do to save their relationship? Could some advice from their dad lead them to doing something they have previously done as children…….
As you read on, and delve into each sister’s lives, you will find yourself draw in. The characters become so real and you will be routing for them in different aspects of their lives.
It is well written and the characters develop well throughout, most of which you will come to care for.
I love the outcome. There were several ways I could see this going and the author chose the best. Not drawing things out or instigating more issues between the families, but bringing out the best in them.
Definitely a must read. I’ll be looking out for more from this author.
