I was super excited to read “Live, Ranch, Love” the first book of the Ridge series by Emma Lucy. The cover and the blurb really invited me into the story.
The book is about Rory, a wellness Influencer who inherits a ranch from her aunt. There she meets Wyatt, who is anything but thrilled to have her there.
As much as I was looking forward to Rory and Wyatt's story, unfortunately I couldn't really warm to either of them. Sometimes two people just don't click and this time there was just no spark between me and either character.
For me, unfortunately, the two had no chemistry or connection.
The atmosphere in the book wasn't quite my cup of tea either. Because the characters didn't inspire me, I found the romcom-like atmosphere anything but nice.
I don't mean to say that the characters are poorly developed, but that they simply didn't appeal to my taste or sympathy.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

The first novel from Emma Lucy that I have read and I loved this book. I enjoyed the interactions between the main characters and how they gradually got to get to know each other and built a relationship was so enjoyable to read. The writing was easy to follow and the plot flowed perfectly and it definitely hooked me in straight away

If you love cowboy romance then this is for you. Such a lovely romance with some real personal growth and soul searching as well. Grumpy vs sunshine in fact FMC aurora might be the most sunshiny character I’ve ever read. Not enemies to lovers in my opinion but more inconvenience to lovers? Either way the banter is excellent. It’s a really uplifting romance into how you can overcome sadness and heartbreak and how things happen for a reason. I loved it and I hope it leads on to many more romances set in the same town.
Oh and the spice is excellent and worth waiting for.

Live, Ranch, Love was such a cute and enjoyable cowboy romance. I feel like it gave me exactly what I was promised and sometimes that’s just what you need.
The characters were fun and fleshed out, the small town and side characters were all interesting but it also didn’t feel forced. I love how they both had their struggles and grew on their own but also together.
This book even made me chuckle which honestly does not happen a lot but the visual of Wyatt and the other ranch hands doing yoga just did it for me lol. I can’t wait for the day that Wyatt finds out about goat yoga.
If you love a fun small town romance, filthy cowboys and surprisingly emotional moments, this is definitely the book for you!

I was so happy being able to read this
This was such a fun read and just what I was wanting. Such a fun read.
I'll definitely be reading more from this author

First of all thank you for approving my request!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The authors writing style had me hooked throughout this book.
I didn't want it to end, a book I really couldn't put down.

I finished Live, Ranch, Love last night and really enjoyed it! If you love a small town cowboy romance with tropes of grumpy x sunshine, forced proximity, small town charm, and personal growth, I think you will enjoy this one. 💖
The Rory and Wyatt, but I also loved the family and friends, cherry and duke being my favourites. I really enjoyed the banter and I found myself giggling at multiple occasions.
I would definitely recommend

This was a super cute cowboy romance! I loved the characters and the Montana setting.
Wyatt was so down bad and I freaking loved it! 🫠
This was Emma’s debut book and I’m excited to read more from her!
Tropes:
- Cowboy Romance
- Grumpy x Sunshine
- Slow Burn
- Forged Proximity
- Small Town Romance

This was such a cute small town romance!
A great debut which allies romance and themes like self esteem, the courage to pursue what you love and being your authentic self!
Great chemistry, a lot of tension and a particular use for horse reins…
I loved the main couple’s dynamics and the tropes were also great: we have grumpy x sunshine, small town and cowboy romance. I’m also really intrigued by the second romance that was hinted at in this book and I can’t wait for their book to come out!
Thank you so much NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for this ARC!

I’m a sucker for small town settings and grumpy cowboy romances, so this seemed right up my street. Unfortunately, I struggled to feel the romantic connection between Aurora and Wyatt. Their relationship moved so fast that it didn’t leave any room for a believable foundation to form. I didn't enjoy the story like I knew I could have if their relationship had more depth and time to flesh out.
The wellness aspect was clearly meant to bring humour, especially with the ranchers being roped into things like yoga and the multiple mentions of wellness remedies. While it had its moments, some of the dialogue felt repetitive, and the frequent mentions of weight began to wear on me. That said, I did appreciate the diversity of the cast and found some of the side characters genuinely fun and engaging.
Overall, it was cute but wasn't for me

An absolute joy to read Emma Lucy’s debut novel. She managed to write gripping characters with great chemistry. Already stoked to read the next book in the series.

Happy re-release and traditional book release week to Live, Ranch, Love! It's always a wondrous and proud moment for readers who knew and read them when an indie romance writer receives their flowers and their book is offered to a wider range of readers. With the glorious renaissance of the cowboy romance genre,we have a chance to read this cute, sometimes whimsical and ultimately an escape offering story about a burned out British influencer girl, who inherits her great-aunt's ranch farm. As an escape from modern city life and to find herself again she decides to heal her heart and mind by trying to revive the failing ranch.Well, that idea sounds ambitious and maybe out of touch - at least in the eyes of the grumpy Wyatt who actually runs the place. Tensions run high, opinions are clashed and the grumpy cowboy has no chance but to fall for the city Princess.I loved that this story felt like a warm hug, the characters were lovable, the story charming and the slow burn aspect was - as it's a favourite of mine - was well executed. The grumpy but softie falling in love was everything a romance girlie could ask for, the banter between the characters and the little peaks into the side character's personality all made me excited for the next installations of the Willow Ridge series!

Whiskey Business meets Flawless in this small town, cowboy romance.
I definitely wouldn't class this as enemies to lovers. The characters had an instant attraction and the time spent disliking each other was so short.
Both MCs have been heartbroken before so it takes a while for them to admit their feelings. I loved their journey of healing themselves and how they fiercely defend and champion each other.
The book shares a message to be your authentic self. Do what you love and don't try to be what other people want you to be.
Instead of enemies to lovers I would say it's opposites attract, grumpy x sunshine, instalust.
Perfect for fans of cowboy romances.
Now, can someone please leave me a ranch in their will.
Thank you for an advanced copy of this book

A fun, wholesome rom com that follows a cowboy and a wellness influencer who takes over her great aunt’s ranch. I thought this was so much fun. It’s a light, easy read and great if you’re in a slump. The banter between the two characters is great and I loved the romance.

Live, Ranch, Love was a pretty good debut! I enjoyed the ranch setting, and the sunshine x grumpy trope was done well. Wyatt is a typical grumpy cowboy and Rory is a wellness influencer, so they don't have a lot in common, but it was nice to see how they came together to keep the ranch running and make it something for both of them.
I struggled a little bit with the pacing of the story, the romance was very insta-love and everything seemed to happen very quickly. I also think describing them as enemies to loves is a stretch, they mildly dislike each other at most!
The exes returning in the third act was annoying, it felt completely unnecessary and was used just to add drama that wasn't needed.
I loved the little hints we got of Cherry and Duke, I hope they get a story! I love that trope anyway so hopefully it's a good one.

This was such a cute read, and I loved every second of it. The underlying message of growth and facing difficult and uncomfortable things was beautiful. Aurora and Wyatt’s relationship came together naturally, and you could feel the soul bond between them. That being said, the spice was spicing, and just a little kinky.
“One day, I'll get all my self-belief and strength back, but until then, maybe it wouldn't be so bad to let him hold my hand along the way.”
One thought that I couldn’t get it off my head in the epilogue - what about the visa she’d need to stay in the states? 😂 that shouldn’t have been what threw me, but it was…
Thank you to Harper Collins for the ARC via Net Galley

This was such a great, feel good romance! I really enjoyed the grumpy/sunshine dynamic between Aurora and Wyatt.
Aurora, a wellness influencer, inherits a Colorado ranch and meets Wyatt, the serious and rugged cowboy who clearly isn’t thrilled by her presence. Their chemistry builds slowly and sweetly, and I loved watching them grow closer. The ranch setting added so much charm to the story; sunsets, horses, and heartfelt moments made it easy to imagine being there.
While some parts felt a bit rushed and the third-act drama was predictable, I still loved their journey. Aurora’s personal growth and confidence boost were inspiring, and Wyatt turning into the ultimate book boyfriend was adorable.
The romance was soft, flirty, and full of steam after halfway point. If you’re looking for a good , small town romance with cowboy vibes and heartfelt moments, this is for you.

Enjoyed this- would be good for Elsie Silver fans. Was only a 2 star for me as the relationship was too insta love for me and I didn’t really buy it unfortunately.

Live, Ranch, Love started off strong - Rory is a charming (if a little basic) FMC and the grumpy/sunshine dynamic felt right with the plot of the story. I had high hopes for both the romance and progression of the characters, but it fell a little flat beyond the half way mark. The ‘grumpy’ side of Wyatt seemed to last all of a few chapters before he was suddenly thinking flowery thoughts of Aurora, which can sometimes be sweet but came across a little rushed. By the third act, I felt we’d hit cringe levels of cliché with both their relationship and their outlook on life. I understand the focus on positivity and how a different mindset can help reshape your life, but it all felt a little too over the top for me unfortunately. There were a few things I did enjoy, including the setting, the dynamic amongst their friend group and Aurora’s self-confidence journey. I’m a big lover of cheesy romance with predictable (and comforting) endings, but this just didn’t feel like the one for me.

This was such a cute read. Congrats to Emma Lucy for a spectacular debut.
This was such a fun grumpy sunshine. The characters themselves were developed well. They both go through a healing journey and eventually help each other as well.. They fit together so well and the author creates a good dynamic between them.
