I read the blurb and was intrigued, so why not give it a try. And I have to say, I really liked the characters and the storyline, the twists and turns the story took, 4 beautiful stars.

Wow. A great book from beginning to the end. The loss of Ella's job was a shock. As we progress Ella's life slowly swirls down the drain. We learn this is a calculated plot of revenge from someone she has harmed in her past.
The book twists and turns like a snake, well written, great characters and descriptions

Thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter for the opportunity to read and review The Revenge Plot.

3⭐️! I really wanted to enjoy this more than I did as I loved the premise behind it! I thought the beginning was interesting, but I was really thrown off when we found out who did it at like 50%. I didn’t really love the second half of the book and I kind of lost interest in the plot. I did feel like I was confused with all the plans that were going on at the end and I struggled to get past that. I did actually really enjoy the full circle moment with Ella. Overall an interesting book, just not really what I was expecting.

Thank you Netgalley for the free ARC! I thought this book had an excellent storyline and the revenge plot was clever and entertaining. I was engaged with the characters even though I didn’t necessarily agree with their opinions and choices. I really enjoyed the story, but thought the conclusion was far-fetched and unbelievable. I still would rate it 5 stars because of the entertainment factor, I received a free review copy; and I am leaving my review voluntarily,

A book about revenge that starts with one woman and ends with 3.
I found this a good pacy read and I enjoyed the detail added to make this all sound feasible. Harriet’s character in particular benefits from beautiful character study.
How far would you go to hurt someone who ruined your life? A question asked 3 times in this book and answered skilfully each time.
Excellent.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers who sent me this ARC in return for an honest review which this is.

4.5

The Revenge plot is a frothy, enjoyable mystery that will keep you turning the pages and wondering if you've ever wronged someone so badly they harbour the kind of grudge that could ruin your life.
Ella’s life untethered, she is a former model who is now managing a coffee shop - this quickly unravels taking you on a fast moving plot of revenge and manipulation.
With lots of twists and turns to keep you engaged and well developed characters this is a very entertaining read.

The Revenge Plot by Jackie Kabler is a quick, captivating read with an intriguing premise. Just how far would you go to take revenge on those you perceive to have done you wrong?
Ella turns up to work one morning to find that the business has been closed, and no one seems to have any answers. Confused, she returns home to learn that she has been evicted. It seems that her life is being dismantled piece by agonizing piece. In desperation, she turns to an old roommate, Harriet, who generously offers her a place to stay. But is her offer entirely altruistic?
This is a story of three women, each feeling that she has been cruelly betrayed in one way or another. Just how far are they willing to go to carry out vengeance? 4.5 stars
Many thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollinsUK, One More Chapter for an ARC.

When Ella Leonard arrives at work one Monday morning, she’s stunned. The place isn’t just shut it’s gone. Boarded up, closed down. Days later, she gets home to find she’s been evicted from her flat, her belongings piled on the doorstep. It’s as if, bit by bit, someone is taking her entire life away from her. Who, and why? And how much worse can it get?The answer? A lot worse. This is just the beginning…. Wow! So many wild twists in this book! A great chilling thriller! It also had great suspense, mystery, murder, dark past secrets, intrigue, and so many twists and turns! The story was very interesting! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK. One More Chapter for providing this book, with my honest review below.
The Revenge Plot will have you up at night thinking about anyone you may have hurt with bad behavior - even if you’ve changed - and if you could inspire the type of wrath that main character Ella experiences.
Ella is pretty unfocused in the world having been a model and acted abysmally in her youth and then moved to managing coffee shops. She gets a lucky break when she connects with a woman who wants her running a new concept of coffee and plant shops in one. Things go terribly wrong, however, when Ella goes to work one day to discover the shop closed down, her apartment (part of the deal) with her belongings moved out and locks changed, effectively homeless and not able to get a hold of her boss.
Switching to Harriet, Ella’s friend’s perspective, we get another story of intrigue as Harriet is being shaken down for money by Nisha, who we briefly get chapters from. The three women are connected and there’s a lot of pulling of strings going on here. Ultimately I really hope no one I’ve wronged still feels some anger eons later and has the means to seek revenge, but that ending has me questioning revenge in general. Definitely implausible (I hope!) but very engrossing.

What a book! Full of shocking twists, surprises and jaw dropping moments....I raced through this one. Harriet, Ella and Nisha were brilliant but awful, thank god I don't have friends like them!! Just fabulous.....

I absolutely loved this book!! Just when you think you've figured the plot out - a huge twist hits and it's absolutely brilliant! It reminds me of the kind of chills you get with frieda McFadden books and I love it!! The plot was tense, dark, and wow, I read this in one sitting!

The twists in this novel are particularly well-executed—just when you think you’ve figured it out, Kabler pulls the rug out from under you. Fans of psychological thrillers will appreciate the clever misdirection and emotional depth woven into the story.
If you enjoy thrillers by authors like Lisa Jewell or B.A. Paris, The Revenge Plot is a must-read. It’s a perfect blend of psychological tension and high-stakes drama that will keep you hooked until the very last page.

This book is disturbingly unforgettable. It’s twisted, it’s dark and it’s intense.
When Ella is offered the opportunity to run a modern coffee shop, given the finances to start it on her own, and even given nice accommodations to live in while doing this, she feels like the luckiest girl alive. But when she shows up to work one morning, the place is shut down and empty. After unsuccessfully trying to reach her benefactor, she fears she’s on her own to solve the mystery.
Harriet is a pediatrician, wealthy, has a perfect husband and a perfect life. When her old friend, Ella, calls asking for help, Harriet is happy to give her a place to stay and even help her find a job.
Nisha was disowned by her mother and feels cheated out of her rightful inheritance. She’d do anything to recoup her losses.
These three women’s lives intersect in ways you wouldn’t believe.
I loved this book. The pacing picked up towards the middle of the book and it got better and better until the twist at the end. If you love psychological thrillers, you really need to try this one.
Thank you, NetGalley and Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter for the advanced reader copy.

A unique, fast-paced psychological thriller that will keep you up all night and you won’t forget in a hurry.
This book was full of twists and turns throughout and was a brilliant read. This was a book that just hooked me from the beginning till the end and I loved it.
It was UNREAL, sooooooo good! What a plot, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this book. It was a page-turner I did not want to stop reading… Don’t miss this book.
It was full on twisty, suspenseful and the ending, just wait till you read that!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars!

I struggled with this storyline and didn't find it especially thrilling or tense. The initial incident of turning up at work and finding the business she worked for gone didn't grab me and I struggled to maintain interest. I felt like I was wading through a lot of mundane detail and admin as she tried to navigate the changes in her life.
I understand from other reviews that there were twists coming but a third of the way in I gave in and DNFd the book.
The writing style was basic and simple to read and didn't maintain tension either.

The Revenge Plot opens with Ella who goes to work and finds out it's all gone. In Part I, her life unravels. She manages to pick herself up and gets a new job, but her boss claims she's made a mistake and fires her. Ella is sure she didn't, but there's nothing she can do to change her boss's mind. She decides to call Harriet, and old flatmate. Part II follows Ella and Harriet. Harriet and her partner George agree to take her in, and we learn a bit more about Ella's past. Let's Ella's a survivor and this is not the first time she faces a challenge. We also learn a bit more about Harriet's life and let's say this is where things get interesting. Harriet makes a confession but, what is it? you'll have to read the book to know! Shortly after, Nisha contacts Harriet about a secret from their past. Ella feels a sense of dread, that something isn't right, but she can't put two and two together and thinks it's all in her imagination. In Part III, the alternating chapters of Ella, Harriet and Nisha come together. Nisha tells us what Harriet's secret is, wow! Life takes a very dark turn for Harriet who is now at the centre of a downfall. The story then jumps to a future timeline, where the revenge plots converge. We finally learn what happened between Harriet and Ella and let's say the ending will shock you!!
This book was different to most thrillers that I've read. If I were to put a label on this book, I'd say it's more chick lit than anything else. Still, it's very well written and structured. Once I got over the fact that this wasn't going to be anything more than that, I really enjoyed the story for the most part.
Note that this books contains a huge TW. It references child SA explicitly, including explicit references to a child's private parts. I don't even know how the author came up with that. There's further references to child SA towards the end, although thankfully not as explicit. This novel is very well written, but because of this I have to say it's not for everyone.
Secondly, I didn't love the ending and I didn't love any of the characters. The ending to me is icky, I usually love a good 'mastermind' type of villian but this wasn't it. It left me feeling deflated. I'd given this book chance after chance and adjusted my expectations to be able to give it an objective rating so that was a letdown.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this eARC.
The Revenge Plot by Jackie Kabler is a captivating quick read that you need to keep up with. My only criticism of this fast moving story is that it is hard to find someone to like in this story, and I personally enjoy a story most when it has a character I can relate to.
That said, this story has everything else, it is well-written and as the protagonist attempts to discover who is ruining every aspect of her life, trust me - it is difficult to put this book down!
I am looking forward to reading more from this talented author.

Three female characters, connected and deceiving each other. Their motive? Revenge - revenge over love, money, children. This was a real page turner from the beginning. Ella finds herself jobless and homeless but an old housemate Harriet agrees to help her out providing her with a place to stay and a shoe-in to a catering job. But not everything is as it seems and Harriets motivation is not purely driven by kindness. In the meantime Nisha feels betrayed by Harriet over an inheritance. And somehow the 3 women become intertwined in a revenge plot. A great twist at the end too! Thanks to the author and publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review
