I’m horrifically obsessed with Indiana Jones and this book was 1000% exactly what I needed.
Digging Dr. Jones follows Adriana Jones, while on vacation she gets a mysterious package delivered to her hotel room. In it is a beautiful and ornate bracelet which she immediately puts on. Unfortunately the package was actually for Dr. Andrew Jones and now that it won’t come off, she is forced to come along to help him find lost pirate treasure.
I seldom read adventure books and I’m wondering why because this was such a good time! It felt like a combination of so many of my favourite things. We had forced proximity, strangers to lovers and opposites attract. Digging Dr. Jones was fast paced and the perfect blend of mystery, adventure and romance. Anyone who loves Indiana Jones, National Treasure or The Mummy will love this!!!

I grew up on Relic Hunter and Time Team (loved Archeology as a kid until I watched The Mummy and that gave me nightmares lol) and I jumped on this ARC when it popped up on Netgalley and yall it was fun.
A laugh out loud, adventure rom com with some lusty scenes and a hot Dr.
We follow Adriana, who while on holiday, locks a bracelet on herself that our handsome hunky Dr Jones needs to find some hidden treasure. Cue our adventure, bad guys, ex partners and sassy brothers.
Tropes:
- Forced Proximity
- Action Packed
- Adventure
While an enjoyable read, I did consider stopping/DNFing at some parts due to slow pacing and cheesy one liners, there was also a bit of instalove (lust), and while some of the tension was nice I felt it lacking and not giving me the OMG-ness I usually get.
I did enjoy the last few chapters as it gives you that adventure the book promised, booby traps, puzzles and treasure, along with a happy ever after.
I think this could be easily be a movie, myself as the lead haha just kidding, but its a good book to picture yourself as the FMC.
An alright filler read, I enjoyed parts of it but it didnt wow me like I hoped it would.

This book was such a fun and engaging read! The story had a great mix of mystery, adventure, and intriguing characters that kept me hooked. I really enjoyed following the twists and turns, and the writing made it easy to get lost in the journey. A thoroughly enjoyable read!

I love a good adventure rom-com and this one fit the bill! WHAT a fun read, I was so invested in the treasure hunt and couldn't get enough of the fun dynamics between this cast of characters. Adriana and William were such a great brother/sister duo and I loved how go-with-the-flow they were about the entire situation! And Dr. Andrew Jones himself was so swoon-worthy, I couldn't get enough! A fast-paced, fun read that will definitely have me coming back for more from Olivia Jackson in the future!

I mostly enjoyed this but there were a couple of things which grated for me and stopped me from loving this book.
I really didn’t like Adriana and William. Their relationship just didn’t sit right with me and they both came across as immature. I also struggled a little with the writing style, it just wasn’t for me, and the pacing of the story. The plot seemed to take a while to get set up but then once the world was established I found the romance in particular felt rushed. I enjoyed the adventure aspect of this book, although it did feel a little dramatic at points.
Overall this was a fun read, but I wish I’d not found the FMC so annoying.
Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I came into this wanting a good time and an easy read, and that is essentially what I got. I read this in an evening, so it did make for a binge able story, but it is one that I most probably wouldn’t pick up again.
I enjoyed their “adventure” around Columbia , figuring all the clues to find the treasure. It was such a fun idea to bring archaeology to this kind of story.
The MCs relationship blossomed very fast, you could almost say that it was insta love, which is not my kind of thing. I enjoyed their flirting and banter at first as it was so cheesy, and even the insta lust, but by the end it was more love than lust.
One other thing that I didn’t particularly enjoy was the FMCs relationship with her brother. I’m not sure why, but it just didn’t feel like it clicked? Buuuut that’s most probably a me thing.
Other than that, with the forced proximity, other such tropes and a fast paced story, this book did what it said on the tin and I enjoyed it even with its flaws.
Thanks to NetGalley and One More Chapter (Harper Collins) for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the opportunity to read an advance copy.
Eh, not digging Dr Jones, unfortunately. The cover was cute, the description sounded great, I really thought I'd like this. I was only able to stomach one chapter at a time and on the tenth day, I still wasn't even halfway through before I pulled the plug and DNF'd it. I was bored, the characters had zero chemistry, and I disliked Adriana so much. It was too juvenile for me, like reading a middle school journal.

A fun little adventure about a sort of accidental archeology quest.
Adriana puts on a bracelet meant for famed archeologist, Dr. Andrew Jones, but she can't get it off. So she is kind of forced to go on this adventure with him and it gets chaotic. And if you're picking up what I'm putting down, it's a good old fashioned forced proximity trope.
I did want more from this book, I was really excited for it. It sounded like it would be such a fun time. And it was fun, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't as captivating as I wanted it to be.
They were a bit insta-love at times and whenever that happens in a book, I just can't believe in the chemistry between characters, it feels rushed and fake and cringe (this one wasn't cringe, but in other books, it very often is). I just wanted more from the characters. But overall, this is a fun time!
Thanks to NetGalley for the e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review! My Goodreads review is up and my TikTok (Zoe_Lipman) review will be up at the end of the month with my monthly reading wrap-up.

I really wanted to love this one, I’m a big fan of adventure romances. Especially if they are loosely based on Indiana Jones/the Mummy.
This just felt too much. There were a LOT of similarities between some of the Indiana Jones movies, too much for my liking.
The random definitions were also disruptive in the middle of a chapter, and they were never really explained.
2.5 stars

What a book! Really enjoyed this read. It gives adventure and forxed proximity vibes. It does feel a bit cheesy in parts and the tension between the main characters could have been ampted up a little but that didnt ruin it for me its was a very enjoyable reading experience. The cover is absolutely gorgeous. Its a very run, spicy in places, archaeology vibe novel and I cant wait to see what she comes up with next.
📚I was able to read an advanced copy of title thanks to NetGalley, Olivia Jackson and HarperCollins UK / One More Chapter 📚

Such a fun read! Fun and quirky narration combined with the absurd situational comedy of a romcom and the adventure of an Indiana Jones/The Mummy movie. Overall, engaging story, characters, and romance. I’d say there’s not a huge emotional impact, and it’s not a story that will stick with you forever, but dang is it a good time!

hilarious and fun offering. very well written and with some cute characters. the writing was quite engrossing, too. 4 stars. tysm for the arc.

This was such a good book. I loved the story and the writing so much. The characters were great and the story flowed smoothly. Will definitely read more books by this author in the future.

digging dr jones was a bit cringey in places but overall the premise delivered exactly what it needed to …
the plot and premise was what excited me most about this book ,, hoping for the adventure and puzzles that you usually see in all the treasure hunting films ! i did feel as though this book to a whole to get to that stage and it only really got exciting towards the 70% which was such a shame .. it seemed the relationship between our two main characters went so fast but so slow at the same time ?? and it was slightly insta lovey ..
however by the end i did find myself really enjoying the writing and the plot coming together !
the characters were written very well .. with some unfortunate cringey lines but nothing toooo bad …
overall , i did have a good time reading this book , it’s just not ones of my faves i’ve read this year!

I was so happy when I was approved for this book, but unfortunately it wasn’t all I hoped it would be. The beginning of the book was really slow for me, and I and to push through to get into it. I’m a sucker for anything to do with archeology, but it was clear the author didn’t do any research about what archeology is. The book has major Indiana Jones vibes, and anyone who enjoys those films will enjoy this book it is the same type of “archeology” Ultimately it was a quick and easy read.

As an Indiana Jones girlie, I LOVED this! I have no been in my romance era recently but this got me back into it! I loved this and want to read more by this author soon!

Wow wow wow
I couldn’t get enough of this book! It put me into a mini slump because nothing hit the spot like this did! It’s got everything you need. The right twist of adventure, mystery and romance.

Well.. I wanted to love this book, but I sadly didn't. The plot of the book sounded really cool and I was so excited to read it!
At the beginning (until around 50% of the book) I really enjoyed this book, but the more I read I cared less about the characters and how the story unfolded. It's quite hard to describe. At one point I wanted to DNF it.
It's not a bad book per se, and I read many great reviews but somehow I couldn't really connect with the characters and sadly it wasn't my cup of tea!

I loved this one! It started a little slow for me even though the 'adventure' aspect starts early on, it took me a bit to get invested in the story and characters. Once I did I couldn't put it down. I loved Adriana and William's relationship and how he was never afraid to call her out. It was a bit of a slow burn but very spicy when it got going. The end was kind of crazy but I loved it.

Thank you Net Galley for this ARC. The story is a fresh take on an Indiana Jones quest with Adriana and Andrew on the hunt for hidden treasure. Throughout the hunt for treasure we see Adriana and Andrew interact and slowly fall in love. The story is fast paced and very engaging as it has lots of action, great banter, and good spice. I also loved how both Adriana and Andrew were very close to their siblings and the importance of family. I thought this was a fantastic read and would definitely recommend it!
