Based on the cover alone, I did not expect to love this as much as I did. This book had me giggling the whole way through. The plot was easy to follow and not too serious, and the characters were fun. I’m a sucker for forced proximity! Add in some archeology and I am hooked!

YAAAAAALLLLL THIS WAS SO FUN!!! indiana jones-style books are my JAM, and this was the perfecT addition to that style of story. i also LOVED the inclusion of santa marta - as a Colombian it brought so much joy to see it come to life in our book.

William, the brother was perhaps my favorite character. his support and comic relief was really well done, especially in instances when the FMC frustrated me 💀

This was a 4/5 for me!

I think my favourite part about this book is that my partner kept mistakingly calling it “D*cking Dr Jones” when he was asking me if I was enjoying it 😂
I thoroughly enjoyed this, it felt like a very different storyline to any other book I’ve read recently. The characters were very loveable and their developing relationship was a joy to read. Would love a book about her brother in the future.
I did however find it quite hard for it to continuously keep me enraptured, I’m a mood reader anyway and it just felt like every time there was a slight lull in the story my brain wasn’t interested anymore.
The spice absolutely hit, Dr Jones did not disappoint 🥵

3.5 stars - adventure romcom

Adrianna Jones is on holiday with her brother William when a bracelet is delivered to her room. She puts the bracelet on and is later approached by Andy Jones, an archaeologist, to whom the bracelet was meant to be delivered too. Adrianna then discovers she is unable to take the bracelet off, and to lessen the risk of damaging the bracelet, Andy asks her to accompany him on a hunt for missing pirate treasure.

A light and fluffy romcom perfect for fans of the mummy, tomb raider and other adventure movies.

Adrianna is complete a fish out of water and watching her crawl through cobwebbed tunnels and putting her arm in bug infested holes were some laugh out loud moments. I loved her brother William and found him highly entertaining and very supportive of his sister.

The romance between Adrianna and Andy was slow burn at first then started to spice up with some good spicy scenes peppered throughout the middle to end of the story.

An enjoyable, adventurous read perfect for summer!

This was cute! I enjoyed the Indiana Jones vibes (there is another romance novel of similar sphere, by Jo Segura) and I would say if you enjoyed that novel, this one might be a good fit for you.

My largest struggle was the FMC. She drove me up a wall. I had to step back, rub my temple, and keep moving, but the plot itself was entertaining enough that I could move on through.

Not bad, though!

A cute adventure/treasure hunting romance in the same vein as Raiders of the Lost Heart or Jewel of the Isle. This didn't completely measure up to those for me, because I really loved both of those, and this didn't feel quite as polished to me, particularly in terms of dialogue and plotting, but I still enjoyed it. Something I really liked here, and that I'm not all that used to seeing in contemporary romance, was the close relationship between the female main character and her brother. I really liked how much they looked out for each other and how important they clearly were in each others' lives. I'll definitely read more from Olivia Jackson - I think she'll get better and better!

First off thank you to Olivia Jackson and Harper Collin’s UK, One More Chapter for a chance to read an ARC of Digging Dr Jones! This was such a fun read!

This book was a pleasant surprise in every single way! I loved the plot, the characters, the love story, and the spice! Wow, the spice!! I had to fan myself a few times!!

The plot of this book was so fun!! I agree that it was a good mix of Indiana Jones and the Mummy.. and one even a little dash of Romancing the Stone? It was excellent in every single way! I laughed. I had anxiety right there with the characters at certain points. I couldn’t put it down, I kept telling myself, one more chapter. The treasure hunt was both exhilarating and realistic and I was totally absorbed. The love story was both sweet and hot. Their tension was palpable. The yearning. This book did instalove better than any book I’ve read. It was perfect.

I loved Andrew and Adriana. I loved them together. They made a great team. I liked how he didn’t let her wallow or ruin their relationship with her doubts or insecurities. He shut those insecurities right down. I loved it. I hate miscommunication.

I highly recommend this book be your next read!! This is a book you’ll want to read and pick up again and again!!

3.5 glorious stars! I absolutely devoured this book. I’ve decided my new favorite romance subgenre is slightly campy, rom-com. While not super campy there’s definitely some camp and it’s wonderful. The relationship between Adriana and her brother, William is just the best. Then add in a sexy archeologist? What’s not to love. A fast-paced read that was just hard to put down. I kept wanting to see 1) when Miss Jones and Dr. Jones would finally admit their feelings and 2) when kind of adventure they’d find.

For fans of (obviously) Indiana Jones movies or National Treasure who want some romance, this is your read.

The Mummy. National Treasure. Indiana Jones. The Lost City. Uncharted. Jungle Cruise.

This is a new adventure romcom, a total laugh-out-loud spicy one-sitting read!  Perfect for fans of The Lost City, Lyla Sage, and Christina Lauren.

Adriana is on vacation at a resort in Costa Rica when she gets a present at her door. She opens it to reveal a bracelet, and without thinking anything of it, puts the bracelet on. During some much-needed bar time with her brother, Adriana gets approached by Andrew Jones, an archeologist, who claims the bracelet is hers. This leads to an adventure in Colombia

This was a lighthearted adventure with action, mystery, banter, and a bit of spice. For myself in particular this was major on the spice scale but I could not put this done. I loved the charters. I hope we get to go on more adventures…

it definitely gives the vibe of falling into a national treasure remake at some points of the book.

there’s a lot going for this book and when I read the flap on netgalley, I requested. there’s great banter, adventure, and decent spice—this book had a bit of a slow, disjointed start.

I struggled connecting with the characters and the story was a bit of a slow start. But otherwise the prose and book were decent enough that I would read a second.

*big time Indiana Jones
*forced proximity
*sloooow burn

With all that going for it, I was sold and requested this and was so happy to receive an advance copy. With banter, adventure, and decent spice, I enjoyed this in spite a bit of a bumpy start.

Full disclosure - it took me a while to get into the story and I really didn’t love the ending but overall, I was impressed with and enjoyed this debut. I look forward to reading more by the author.

Thank you to One More Chapter and NetGalley for the DRC

*ARC review*

Definitely felt like I fell into a national treasure remake at some points of the book. I loved the fmc and while it did mention a little bit of what she was doing before the vaca I wish it wouldve had a little to do with the actual plot. I will say going into this book I wasnt sure if it would be my cup of tea but it was actually a really fun read!

Thank you for the ARC cant wait to read more!

This was so much fun, it had it all: an adventure, banter and romance. It really gave Indiana Jones crossed with a rom-com vibes. I really loved the dynamic between Adriana and Andrew, they had such flirty banter but had this deep connection as well.

Digging Dr. Jones was a fast-paced adventure rom-com with Indiana Jones-style elements. I did enjoy the romance; it was a fun plot point. The romance and the treasure hunt took up around half of the plot each, which I thought was fun, but I wish we had more of the characters' yearning and relationships. I wish we got a POV from Andrew. I wish I could have seen his feelings and longing on his side.
Now moving onto the parts I did not enjoy. I understand that there was a point why the names of the two main characters were almost the same, but that could have been done with initials or something else. Making them so close in their name was a little weird and gave me the ick. Also, I think there was a lot of lust after their first kiss, and I wish they had less spicy scenes or more spaced out. I also wish the story was a bit more character-driven instead of a plot, but I am also a mainly romance reader, so that style of plot is my preference.
All in all, this was fun a little Wattpad-y romcom, and it was a quick pleasant read.

3.8-4 ⭐️

The first thing I wanna say is the pacing is quite fast, I think maybe if it was drawn out a bit more like a month span kinda timeframe I think would’ve been better, definitely would have gotten a higher rating from me. I also would’ve preferred just that little bit more interactions between the characters just really develop those relationships more. There was a few things throughout the story just completely unrealistic situations but hey anything can happen in a book

I did really enjoy the story, of course the plot twists here and there were kind of obvious but I still wanted to keep reading and see where the story would go.

If you enjoyed this book you’ll def love The Big Fix.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and HarperCollins for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

DNF at 27%

I'm sure this book has an audience that will love it. It reads quick and isn't overly complicated. The plot is an interesting set up with potential, but I wasn't invested enough in the characters, plot, or writing to wait and find out if that potential can be met.

The catalyst for the plot happens blindingly fast, and consequently we don't get to know our main character at all before we're expected to navigate her relationship with someone else. Adriana is a blank slate. At 27% in, I feel like I still don't know much of her backstory or how she's feeling aside from a few key points that have been repeated. This could appeal to readers who prefer to imagine themselves as the main character, but it made me feel disconnected from our main character.

The writing and plot are very dialogue-driven, but the dialogue doesn't feel natural to me. It's very matter-of-fact, and alternates between questions and answers without any reflection on the information they're receiving. Occasionally there's a dictionary definition thrown in for comic relief, but it's not frequent enough to feel like a bit and there's no part of Adriana's personality that connects or acknowledges it, so it feels like a random pop up ad.

The adventure seems to pick up around 25% and the pacing levels out, so it's possible the rest of the book is compelling enough that I would have enjoyed it but, without enough info to care about the main character, I'm not willing to give it more time to find out.

Note: Out of respect for the author and the fact that I did not finish it, I will hold my reviews until after the release date and will not be adding a star rating.

Such a funny romcom adventure with nifty nods to Indiana Jones. Loved the characters, the romance, and the spiffy wit. Perfect for contemporary romance fans who adore delightful spirited tales. I dug it and you will too!
