In this charming tale, Riel Nason introduces us to a little ghost who is a quilt, not a sheet. While this makes him different from his friends, it's also what allows him to revel in the winter weather that his sheet friends can't stand. When he discovers the festive magic of the season, he feels a familiar excitement but is sad his friends can't join him. The story beautifully explores themes of friendship, finding joy in your differences, and the power of sharing that joy with others. A touching and cozy read that will leave young readers feeling warm inside.

I’m thrilled to continue reading about the little ghost who was a quilt! Another charming, sweet little story about finding your place in the world and bringing joy to your friends. The illustrations in this book are breathtaking! I look forward to adding this to my family’s read aloud pile, especially between Halloween and Christmas. I look forward to purchasing a copy to donate to my son’s classroom library - the artwork it would inspire my little readers would be endless!

This is a very sweet book, filled with absolutely gorgeous illustrations, about a quilt ghost who just wants to make winter better for his sheet ghost friends.
This is a lovely story about friendship, kindness, and doing what you can for others; littles will love this book and its story and I can see it becoming a favorite year-round.
Thank you to NetGalley, Riel Nason, Byron Eggenschwiler - Illustrator, and Tundra Book Group/Tundra Books for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved the illustrations-- the contrasting hues are really engaging.
The text was a bit wordy for younger grades, but can be improvised. It could definitely lead to a lot of good and informative conversations about friendship, seasons, originality, etc. Overall, a great fall book

I requested this book from Netgalley because I like children's books with excellent artwork and a unique take on an idea. I love the concept of the winter time ghost, who flies about and stays warm even in the snow. A little fish-out-of-water who discovers a new way to celebrate being with his other ghostie friends. The story teaches empathy and creativity, as Ghost Quilt strives to understand his friends limitations while also pursuing their company. The story also teaches how adopting and expressing culture that isn't yours can be a respectful and beautiful practice.
I recommend this beautiful kids book (48 pages) to parents of 5 to 8 years olds and anyone who enjoys great illustration and well-written kids lit.
Thank you to the authors Riel Nason and Byron Eggenschwiler, Tundra Books, and NetGalley for a digital arc of THE LITTLE GHOST QUILT'S WINTER SURPRISE. All views are mine.

The illustrations of this book are truly the highlight. The ghosts are adorable and I love looking at the pictures. I believe this is a series, but this is the first one I have read. I will say for those who are reading this one first the beginning is confusing. The starting off sentences are clunky and convoluted. I think it might be difficult to understand. After the beginning couple pages though it was a nice story to read.

I was so excited when I saw this book! The little ghost that was a quilt was such a wonderful story and this continuation was just as heartwarming. My kids love these books and I hope they keep making more! Who doesn’t love a little ghost quilt!

This was such a sweet and warm winter story! The illustrations are absolutely stunning, especially the big landscapes and wide shots. It definitely captures the cold, grey of winter alongside the glowing Christmas lights and warm holiday spirit. This is a little bit of a longer book, but it is engaging the whole way through. I love the Little Ghost Quilt and I hope there are even more books in this series!

My thanks for the ARC goes to NetGalley and Tundra Book Group. I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
THE LITTLE GHOST QUILT'S WINTER SURPRISE is a feel-good Christmas book with our favorite Little Ghost.
This is a darling sequel to *The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt* all about friendship and love. The illustrations are gorgeous!
If you have a quilting friend, this book will be a hit.
I think kids are going to love this story and the illustrations. Little Ghost is a charming character, and I hope to see more spirited books.
Happy reading!

Absolutely adorable and endearing! This book is so cozy and it highlights important themes. The illustrations in this book are so beautiful. The textures and color scheme truly add a lot to the story.

Cutie little picture book about a ghost who is made of quilt, while his friends are made of sheet. This gives the ghost quilt an edge in the winter months and he’s able to see more of the comfort and happiness of the Christmas season. As with any good children’s book, this book brings out a triumphant struggle and a cozy sense of community.

Okay from someone who wears ghost book related shirts all year round this book just warms my heart. Having ghosts that exist in such a lovely way outside spooky season and using ghost-related book puns is the way to this readers’ heart. This is a lovely book and the art is fantastic. I hope readers enjoy it as much as I did.
Thank you to Tundra Book Group and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.

"When you're a quilt instead of a sheet, being a ghost is hard! But it does mean you can float around in cold weather...an adorable picture book about a ghost who wants to share the magic of the season with his chilly sheet friends.
The little ghost quilt loves being out in the cold. For once, he doesn't overheat, and he likes how the snowflakes make his patches look polka-dotted. His friends, who are sheets, get too cold in the winter weather and have to stay inside, but the little ghost quilt doesn't mind. He enjoys slowly drifting along on his own.
On one of his frosty flights, he sees something happening in the town. People are putting up warm, twinkling lights, and there's a fun festive feeling everywhere - like Halloween, his favorite season, but with snowmen and wreaths and candles in windows instead of pumpkins. He is filled with excitement and happiness looking at all the beautiful decorations and joyous people, yet he can't help but feel sad that his friends can't be there.
But then, after almost getting caught in a blizzard, the little ghost quilt is struck by inspiration..."
I just love the little ghost quilt. His way of sharing the holiday spirit with his friends who are more suited to summer was a sheer delight to read.
A delightful sequel wherein our ghostly friend learns about Christmas and shares the spirit of the season with his friends. The ghost house was delightfully reminiscent of Charles Addams.

I received an electronic ARC from Tundra Book Group through NetGalley.
Little Ghost Quilt is back for another adventure. Readers see that winter has arrived and the other ghosts can't play outside without freezing. Little Ghost can and does have some marvelous adventures. When he sees sparkly lights in the distance, he sets out to discover the source. The human town is celebrating Christmas with the usual decorations. I love how Little Ghost problem solves to bring this beauty to his friends. The illustrations capture the adventure and the teamwork to create their own decorations at the end. I wish we had seen other winter holidays included but the story works with the focus on Christmas decorations. A sweet story of joy and problem solving to include friends.

My daughter and I had so much fun reading The Little Ghost Quilt’s Winter Surprise! We’re big fans of both Halloween-themed stories and cozy winter/Christmas books, so this delightful mix was right up our alley. From the very first page, we were both drawn in by the charming illustrations—colorful, whimsical, and full of seasonal magic. I can only imagine how lovely they’ll look in print!
The cover immediately caught my eye, and I knew it was something my daughter would love—and I was right. It’s sweet, gentle, and imaginative. As a family with deep quilting roots, the storyline felt extra special. The idea of a little ghost quilt discovering winter is such a unique and heartwarming twist, and it added a nice touch of nostalgia and creativity for me as a parent.
I received access to this book as an eARC via NetGalley, and I’m so grateful I did. Thank you Tundra Books! This will definitely be a title we return to each holiday season. Highly recommended for families who love heartwarming stories with a touch of seasonal whimsy and beautiful artwork!

👻❄️ Cutest ghost story ever! ❄️👻
This adorable children’s book follows a little ghost made of quilt instead of a sheet and because of that, he gets to explore the snowy world outside when his family can not.
As he travels through magical Christmas towns and snowy landscapes, he discovers the joy of the holiday season in a way the others never have. At first, he feels left out… but in the end, he finds a beautiful way to bring the Christmas spirit back home to share with his family.
This story is such a clever twist on a holiday tale. I absolutely loved it.
🎄👻 10/10 would recommend for wintertime reading with little ones!
My kids have already decided we’re buying a hard copy when it releases to add to our Christmas book collection. We wrap and read one each night as part of our 25 days of Bookmas tradition. 📚🎄

This was a very fun read! I love the cozy vibes that emanated from ghost quilt trying to bring the joy of Christmas to his spooky little friends. I would highly recommend this read for anyone looking for a fun and quick story to share with the kids.

My kid loved the last book, and this was no exception. The art is just stunning. The story is sweet and heartwarming, perfect for Christmas. I can't wait to read this again around the holidays.

When you're a quilt instead of a sheet, being a ghost is hard! But it does mean you can float around in cold weather . . . an adorable picture book about a ghost who wants to share the magic of the season with his chilly sheet friends.

Little Ghost Quilt strikes again on more adventures! I agree with a few other people who said this gives "Nightmare Before Xmas" vibes without being scary, and I love that! Can't wait to make my little guy his own ghost quilt so he can have a little stuffed animal version of the main character. Would recommend!
