This is not my usual genre and I haven't read or listened to any other audiobooks by this author however I know this one comes after his initial book First Into Action and what I can say is that it didn't take away from the experience not having any previous endeavours. This can definitely be read or listened to as a stand-alone.
Due not being in my usual go-to genre, it makes it a little more difficult to review in some ways in that I have little else to be of noteworthy to refrance against. That being said it also means I went in open minded to something quite different and enjoyed the fact first of all that this is narrated by the person who had the experiences it makes it much easier for the listener to connect with the character as he is speaking from his own experiences.
This book offers a detailed account of various aspects of his life with some humour along the way and so many things you only ever see in the movies so pondering where the reality of his experiences ended and humour began is something else! None the less it is something different, which I'm trying to expand on the genres, etc, so from that perspective, this was a decent one to do so with! I actually found this author was able to make difficult situations expressed but still maintain humility and humour throughout, which gave the audiobook much more of an easy and enjoyable listen.
With thanks to Netgalley & WF Howes Ltd for this ARC in return for an honest review.
