Just finished reading an advanced copy of a book called, Sweet Little Lies. This was everything I look for in a thriller: writing that is well done and pulls me in, characters that feel real and relatable, multiple POVs throughout the story, not being able to easily figure out "who did it?", a captivating storyline that makes the book impossible to put down, and TWISTS FOR DAYS. I loved everything about this book, it had mystery, suspense, danger, thrill, and romance. It checked all the boxes for me and had me on the edge of my seat! I enjoyed every minute of this story! 🤍📚

Thank you to the author and to the publisher for this ARC of Sweet Little Lies, in exchange for an honest review.

Leah Cupps’ Sweet Little Lies is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into the dark secrets lurking beneath a seemingly perfect romance. The story follows Reese, a dedicated bakery owner whose whirlwind engagement to the charming and affluent Tucker quickly spirals into a nightmare. As anonymous threats surface, urging her to cancel the wedding, Reese is compelled to investigate Tucker’s mysterious past, particularly the unexplained disappearance of his ex-fiancée, Charlotte.

Cupps crafts a narrative filled with suspense and unexpected twists. The tension escalates as Reese’s bakery is vandalized, and the anonymous messages become increasingly menacing. Readers are kept on edge, questioning the motives of each character and the true nature of Tucker’s intentions. The author’s ability to weave a tale of love, betrayal, and danger ensures that the story remains engaging throughout.

While the novel excels in building suspense, i have noted areas where character development could be more nuanced. Reese’s decisions, at times, seem driven more by plot necessity than character consistency, and the dialogue occasionally lacks refinement. Nevertheless, the story’s compelling twists and the author’s storytelling prowess make it a worthwhile read for fans of the genre.

In summary, Sweet Little Lies offers a thrilling exploration of trust and deception, making it a recommended read for those who enjoy psychological thrillers with a romantic twist.

Sweet Little Lies was everything I wanted from a thriller novel! There were plenty of twists and turns to keep me engaged.

I did think there were a few too many plot things going on, but that may have been what kept me from seeing where the novel was headed and keeping me on my toes. I will definitely be picking up another Leah Cupps novel after this first experience with her. The dialogue was very stream of consciousness which I think in this case worked for the plot and kept Reese a very relatable character in this book.

Sweet Little Lies by Leah Cupps is a gripping romantic thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. Reese, a small-town baker, is living what seems like a fairytale life after a whirlwind romance with the charming and wealthy Tucker. But as their wedding day approaches, Reese begins receiving anonymous threats that cast a dark shadow over her dreams. The mysterious messages demand she call off the wedding, or face dire consequences.

As the threats escalate and strange events unfold, Reese becomes consumed with uncovering the secrets of Tucker's past, particularly regarding his ex-fiancée, Charlotte, who vanished a year earlier. Is Charlotte back to reclaim Tucker, or is something far more sinister at play? With her bakery broken into just days before her wedding, Reese realizes the danger surrounding her is very real.

Leah Cupps weaves a tantalizing blend of romance, suspense, and mystery in Sweet Little Lies. The tension builds masterfully, and the twists and turns keep readers guessing until the very end. Cupps’ storytelling is engaging, and Reese’s journey to uncover the truth about Tucker and his past adds depth to the suspense. This is a page-turner for anyone who loves a good mix of love, secrets, and danger.

3.75/5 ⭐️

Before Charlotte's chapters this was a 3 star book for me because it felt like Resse was just naive and I don't like that in book characters. But the moment Charlotte's chapters started it picked up and had so many turn that I was really invested.

For me this book was more about the twists than the plot itself. That does not make the twists stans out to me as much as a thriller with a good plot. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to review a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book I’ve read by this author (the first was One Last Bite which I rated 5 stars) although I preferred that story I did enjoy this one. There were a few ‘twists’ that I expected however all in all a good read and I would recommend

This was just a fun easy read and it took me away from the cold dark British winter. Yes I could work out how it was going to end but that didn't spoil the surprise and there were some decent twists in there to keep me fully entertained.

Will definitely be reading more by this author.

The setting and premise was really entertaining.

"Sweet Little Lies" was my introduction to Leah Cupps, and I was immediately intrigued by the premise. The pacing was one of the book's strongest suits, keeping me hooked from start to finish. Reese, the main character, was portrayed as a strong and determined FMC, and I appreciated her resilience throughout the story.

What stood out to me the most was the balance between tension and character depth. The mystery surrounding Tucker’s past and his ex-fiancée Charlotte added layers of intrigue, and the stakes felt real as the threats against Reese escalated.

That being said, I did find myself frustrated with Reese’s decision to meet with her ex behind her fiancé’s back. While it added complexity to her character, it detracted slightly from my enjoyment. Additionally, I was able to predict the ending about halfway through, but it didn’t take away from the overall suspense of the story.

Overall, this was a well-written thriller with engaging characters and a gripping plot. I’d recommend it to readers who enjoy fast-paced mysteries with plenty of twists. I look forward to exploring more from Leah Cupps in the future!
