Leigh is FBI and the mother of a newly adopted teenager, the daughter of her best friend who is in prison for murder. She is sent to New Hampshire when a murder at the college there shows ties to a case she was involved in during her time there. She alibied the suspected killer then, but was she wrong?
This story hooked me from the very start and I had to keep reading to find out what happened next. She and her daughter no sooner get to New Hampshire and a hurricane blows in. No power, no phone service, and a school full of trapped students adds to the tension. More killings occur and Leigh is busy trying to to stay alive and figure out the case.
The Killer She Knew is book #3 in the Leigh Brody series, but it works well as a stand alone. Now I am looking forward to going back and reading the first two!
Thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.

This is one of the best series ! Leigh is back !! Leigh is called to the sign of the death of a college student that has characteristics of a long ago murder of another college student. The murder suspect was alibied by Leigh. Is he back killing or is this a copy cat? Did Leigh make a mistake and he's back? Love the mystery and suspense. Great series.

Gripping, thrilling and fast-paced Leigh has to figure out if her nightmare from the past is back. Just when you think you are close to catching the killer when you get a plot twist.

There were definitely moments that had me hooked. There was some predictability, but overall I enjoyed the story and will make a point to seek out the first two books in the series.

I've been fortunate to receive all 3 of the Leigh Brody series as ARCs. Unfortunately, this one was my least favourite of the 3. I found it quite predictable and a couple of things rubbed me the wrong way. First, every time Ava is mentioned, she's referred to as Leigh's adopted daughter. Yes, she adopted her, but as someone very close to several adoptees, I wish she was just referred to as her daughter or as her new daughter.
Second, it was mentioned fairly early in the book that the killer was able to impersonate a police officer and the only way the officer's partner knew is when the imposter put in contacts and rooted for a different sports team. I'm sorry but the idea a cop wouldn't know their partner was a completely different person is ridiculous.
I found The Killer She Knew to be quite predictable.
I do hope there are more books to this series, but I hope they are more believable than this one.

Wow, Leigh sure knows how to catch a killers eye. Another old case that is mixed with a new one gets her back in the thick of things.
This action packed, crime book has you on edge and its puzzle after puzzle to figure out who is behind it and there is absolutely no way you find out until your supposed to figure it out, meaning when Nichole Severn is ready to reveal it!

An interesting thriller where Leigh has to face a scenario she believes she has seen the same situation before. But is the Keller the same? So many twists to keep you thinking and all this alongside the emotions of Leigh having become the parent of a traumatised teenager. Beautifully written

This is an actual thriller, no doubt about it! The most important thing about the story is that
there is no reason to feel badly if you did not figure everything out ahead of the storyline because
it is every bit as terrifying,, nerve wracking and well written either way. To focus on my favorite part,
we go right to the end and send our girl on a long over due date having. been fussed over. by her
new.y adopted daughter (a complete storyline there) ~ who, while Leigh is still in hospital, has
called her Mom ❤️. I cannot wait for the next adventure.
My thanks to Storm Publishing via. NetGalley for the download copy of this
book for review purposes.

Eighteen years ago Leigh Brody was in Durham, New Hampshire attending college, when she alibis her boyfriend in a murder. After he is released she never sees him again. Now she has adopted her ex best friend’s daughter and has been called to her old college for another murder. While investigating, a hurricane is heading towards them and they are stuck in one building. No power or no way to communicate with anyone, Leigh believes she spotted her ex. When another girl goes missing, Leigh must find her before it’s too late.
Pretty good but I forgot this author, in this series, only writes one point of view. Suspenseful. A teenager. A killer.

FBI agent Leigh Brody’s life was turned upside down when she was sent to investigate the murder of twenty-one-year-old Alice Dietz, whose body was found in the courtyard of Leigh’s alma mater. Eighteen years before, another girl's body was found in the same place, and Leigh had given a false alibi to the police to protect her boyfriend, who had been suspected of the murder. Was this a copycat murder?
Leigh hadn’t seen him in years and feared he had returned to the area. She is anxious to make up for her mistake many years ago and uncover the truth about the current murder. A hurricane suddenly overtakes the town, trapping her inside the college dormitory where the murder occurred. Telephone lines are down, cutting off all means of communication, and someone inside the dormitory is following her. Is he back, and is another life in danger?
An edge of the seat thriller that will keep you reading until the explosive and shocking ending.

When the body of twenty-one-year-old Alice Dietz is found in the courtyard of her alma mater, FBI agent Leigh Brody feels as though a nightmare has come to life. Eighteen years ago, another girl was killed in the same way as Alice. And Leigh gave a false alibi to protect the man she loved from murder charges. She believed his claim of innocence until he vanished from her life…

I love it I finished it in one sitting I love it when a thriller book makes you think hard and you are still thinking about it while your phone is charging can't wait to read more turning the pages and a new twist comes up and puts your jaw on the floor

The Killer She Knew by Nichole Severn is an absolute thrill ride of a book from start to finish, with a massive locked room vibe and a murderer on the loose that makes for progressively more intense reading as the book progresses. Throw in a hurricane, relationship tensions, and a bunch of college aged students who feel trapped, and the story reads like a bomb about to explode.
Severn reveals the killer in well-planned plot twists, and keeps you guessing as to who exactly is the serial killer. Her main character, FBI agent Leigh Brody, is an expert in getting into the mind of a killer, but not above having the situation around her, past and present, cloud her judgement. As a result, she finds herself in situations that have the reader holding their breath in anticipation and anxiety.
The Killer She Knew is expertly woven and suspenseful. Thank you for the ARC of #TheKillerSheKnew to #NetGalley.

This was unputdownable. I read it through in one sitting into the early hours of the morning, it was such a good read that just dragged me deeper and deeper into the plot. The behavioural work by Leigh on why people kill, what patterns mean and therefore what it meant for the growing number of victims was so interesting. The info was given seamlessly as part of the plot. There are several twists that kept me on the edge of my seat and so ever vivid scenes in stormy weather and freezing water.

The Killer She Knew is a fast paced read that will have your buckling your seat belt and hodling your breath .

Although this is the third book in the series you can read it as a stand alone ( I did ) but trust me you will be rushing to read the first two books in the series.

A young woman's body is found at Leigh's alma mater and it is a repeat of one that happened years ago.

Leigh was instrumental and getting the accused killer of by giving her then boyfriend an albi.

He cant be back , can he?

Making matters worse a hurricane has come inland and the students are trapped , the power is out and bodies are piling up.

Twists and turns, action plus keeps the lights on to the final page.

I am a fan of Leigh Brody and Nichole Severn and I am off to read the first two books in the series.

I will be first in line for the next case that Leigh Brody is assigned.

Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read and review The Killer She Knew and for introducing me to the series.

This is a heart-pounding thriller that will keep you up at night! Leigh is an FBI criminologist with an adopted daughter, Ava who is 15. Leigh met her first love, Dean in college but he was arrested and she hasn't heard from him since then. Now she is on the scene of a flooded building where it's apparent the power was cut and there's at least one dead body. U.S. Marshall Max Ford is on the scene and as the flooding continues, Leigh is caught up in a crazy nightmare as she tries to determine what is really going on as it appears there is murder as well! It's a great cat-and-mouse game that vacillates in time between "now" and "then" as we watch Leigh figure out this devious plan and attempt to save Ava.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

Another intriguing escapade for Agent Leigh Brody! The more I learn about her, and her history, the more I like Leigh. In this third book of the series, she is called back to her Alma mater to assist with a case eerily familiar to one that took place while she was a student there. Multitasking is the name of the game as she has to deal with the current case, past memories and mistakes, the unsteadiness of her relationship with her newly adopted teenage daughter, not to mention a hurricane that is compromising the crime scene as well as the safety of everyone she is sequestered with in the building. The setting is fraught with danger and the plot takes a few twists and turns; although I ferreted out the guilty party early on, I still found the story to be engaging and entertaining. I look forward to seeing how Leigh juggles her career, her new role as a mom and hopefully romance lurks in her future.
