Three Little Lies had a strong premise that immediately drew me in—secrets unraveling, a marriage on the edge, and a nightmare unfolding in what was supposed to be a perfect home. The pacing kept me engaged, and the mystery had enough twists to hold my attention. There were moments where I could see the pieces coming together, but the tension and unpredictability made the journey worthwhile.

Jo, as a main character, frustrated me for most of the book. Her severe anxiety and overprotectiveness made her act irrationally at times, adding chaos to already intense situations. That said, by the end, she does redeem herself, and I appreciated her growth as she acknowledged her mistakes and took steps toward change. Seeing how things played out made me appreciate her character arc more, even if she tested my patience along the way.

Overall, this book delivers on suspense, family drama, and psychological tension. Readers who enjoy domestic thrillers with layered secrets and emotionally driven characters will likely find it engaging. While Jo’s character was difficult to connect with at times, the resolution made her journey feel more worthwhile.

Jo is the ultimate helicopter mom over her two kids, but she is noticing a growing distance between her daughter Megan and herself. Convinced that it might help, Jo welcomes an exchange student from England to stay with them (Eden). But Jo starts to feel like having Eden there may not be the great opportunity that she thought. To make things worse, Jo feels like her husband Everett has been hiding something from her. Just before they can discuss, Eden goes missing, and Everett is arrested in connection with her disappearance. From there, the lies start to come out.

I was thoroughly entertained by this thriller. There were so many twists and turns along the way that I did not see coming. This book is everything that I look forward to in these types of stories. Once I was about 75% of the way done, it was very hard for me to put the book down. I would hands down recommend both this book and author to anyone looking for a good thriller.

Thank you Bookouture, NetGalley, and Danielle Stewart for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Whew, there are some twisted people in this book!
I thought Jo was super controlling and quite annoying with all of her restrictions. I would’ve rebelled too.
I knew Everett was hiding something but it wasn’t until deep in the plot I figured it out.
I thought Eden was sneaky and up to no good.
The only person who wasn’t hiding anything was Ashton.
Jo will stop at nothing to give her children everything, but at what cost?

2⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy of Three Little Lies.

Jo has cultivated her perfect life with her husband Everett and children Megan and Ashton. She is asked to house an exchange student named Eden and she agrees. At first things are going well but then Eden disappears. Her family is looked at as suspects but she will do whatever is necessary to keep her family.

This book was very predictable. I was able to figure out the big plot twist pretty early on. I was not really a fan of any of the characters. This was kind of a boring thriller in my opinion.

Three Little Lies embarks you on an exhilarating journey to uncover the three little lies, and what a wild ride it is! This captivating tale follows Jo, whose entire world is turned upside down. When she is approached to host a foreign exchange student for six weeks, little does she know she’s about to be swept away on the adventure of a lifetime. As her experience with the exchange student spirals off the rails, I found myself gasping aloud in shock multiple times. I was utterly captivated, never knowing where the story would lead next, yet savoring every thrilling moment. I devoured this book in a single day, unable to tear myself away from the tantalizing twists! This was my first encounter with Danielle Stewart’s writing, and I cannot wait to dive into more of her works. This book undoubtedly deserves a resounding 5 stars!

Secrets, Suspicion, and Small-Town Shenanigans ★★★★☆

Three Little Lies is a twisty, small-town thriller that kept me hooked from the start. It’s got all the good stuff—family secrets, suspicious neighbors, and a creeping sense that someone isn’t telling the whole truth. If you love mysteries that slowly unravel layer by layer, this one’s a solid pick.

The story follows Gina, whose life gets upended when her estranged mother suddenly reappears, bringing a past full of secrets with her. As Gina starts digging, she realizes that some lies are so deeply buried that uncovering them might not be worth the fallout. But, of course, she can’t stop herself. (Would there even be a book if she did?)

Danielle Stewart does a great job keeping the tension high, and the small-town setting is perfect—everyone knows each other, and no one is as innocent as they seem. The mystery unfolds at a great pace, and I found myself second-guessing nearly every character at some point. My one little gripe? The ending felt a tad rushed. After such a strong build-up, I wanted just a little more time to sit with the final reveals.

Overall, a really entertaining, well-written mystery with great suspense and emotional depth. Not a mind-blowing thriller, but definitely one I’d recommend if you love domestic suspense and family drama with a dark edge!

I really enjoyed Three Little Lies by Danielle Stewart. In the beginning, as Jo receives these ominous letters, I lean toward that as the main storyline/plot. I was curious to see what kind of secret she was keeping from her family and to be honest, I leaned toward something crazy or outrageous. When Everett is described in the book, I just started to feel like there was something off about him before he arrived home. Not necessarily a murderer or anything like that, but the lifestyle and the way Jo talks about him raise a red flag. As the story progresses, I think as parents, we can all tell that she has the best of intentions for her children, even if it may seem overbearing. I was not expecting the ending AT ALL, but I think that is what I enjoyed most about this book. Even with the traumatic events, there is some hope for healing.

I would recommend this book to my friends who enjoy a "who do it" story with some twist. I want to thank NetGalley, Danielle Stewart, and the publisher for the eARC!

Thank you to netgalley, the publisher and the author for the advance copy to read.

I really enjoyed this suspense novel. Three little lies follows a family as they let a foreign exchange student stay with them for 6 weeks. What starts out as a great idea doesn't end so well.

The story was well written, the pacing was great and the single POV really helped with the suspense of the story. The characters aren't particularly fleshed out but it didn't detract from the entertainment side of reading this.

At times it was predictable but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes a suspenseful story, centered around family, lies and betrayal.

4.5 stars.

I thought this was a decent read, though it didn’t really match the synopsis and I also couldn’t figure out what the 3 lies were when it seemed like the book was filled with lies. The story centers on Jo, an overprotective mom who agrees to take in a teenaged exchange student from England. All does not go as planned and when the student goes missing, there is a lot of attention on Jo and her family.

I didn’t find Jo to be that likable of a character but I at least could see where she was coming from in most cases. I thought the author did a good job of capturing how kids act, especially Megan who is at that young teenage stage where your mom is so embarrassing. When the villain and their motivations was revealed, I felt that I had to suspend my disbelief a bit, but it definitely provided a unique twist. The ending tied everything up nicely (maybe even a little too nicely) but I was glad I wasn’t left with lingering questions.

Overall, decent read even if I didn’t really end up reading what I expected to read. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Engaging and easy read. This is one of those books that you can pick up and not put back down until you’re done with it.

I enjoyed the basis of the story. Loving wife and present mother (albeit with a secret). Absent father (also with a secret). And a short term foreign exchange student (perhaps holder of the biggest secret). The storyline is fairly predictable - I was able guess a major plot twists about 1/3 of the way through the story and another halfway through but I still enjoyed seeing how it all unfolded in the end.

The character development was great. Although I didn’t particularly care for the personality of the main character, Jo, the author did a great job of setting the scene for where she’s at in her life and who she is as a person. We continue to see deeper and deeper pieces of her personality as the story progresses. Megan was the quintessential bratty pre-teen that we see move through the phases of thinking she knows it all and her mom is so annoying to learning that everything her mom does is because she cares about her deeply. And finally Eden - the author did a great job capturing the essence of a teenager. She goes through it all from acting as a nurturing “older sister” figure to the sneaking around and manipulation of Jo.

Although this book didn’t have my mind blown at the twists, it was a believable and captivating story. I would definitely pick up another book by this author.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for providing this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

A gripping psychological thriller. It's full of suspense and mystery, with lots of unexpected twists and turns that keep readers on the edge of their seats. Everything starts out innocently, an anxious mother with strict rules for her kids' safety. A father who is more absent than present wuth3his family and then a seemingly innocent teenager, they host as a foreign student exchange program. After that, it's one curveball after another, and everyone is hiding some dark secrets. Intense and fast-paced progression with enough emotional connection. The climax is good. Recommended for psychological thriller readers. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC.

I am floored by this masterpiece. Going into this, I did not expect to be reeled in that fast. I will gladly read anything written by Danielle Stewart after this.

This was a freaky story about a family bringing in an exchange student. One thing leads to another… and a kidnapping occurs. You think you know what’s going to happen… and then BAM. Complete opposite direction.

I recommend this to anyone who loves Freida McFadden and Riley Sager. 4.5/5!!!
