This is a very hot book no pun intended. Cassie Wolford has had a crash on Quinn Gallagher for three years, now by him not showing up on her 21st birthday has just about ended all of her hopes of at least kissing him. When she shows up at the firehouse to drop off left over cake for the guys Quinn gives her the low down of his feels and her not being wanted by him. He does it in front of the entire firehouse and she holds it together until she gets outside. Later when she ends up at a nightclub he ends up there to take her back to her apartment after she passes out. Quinn’s problem is his past and the flash backs he gets from a mission he was on the ended badly when he was a DEA agent. Now he decides to not face anything and quits his job as a fireman and move from Florida. When Cassie hears about this plan she takes matters in her own hands and this is where the story takes multiple turns in the bed and lo and behold he is not leaving but facing his fears. He also is trying to find who is after her. He also must find the mole in the DEA that is still keeping an eye on all that he is doing. Overall this is a good book with some hot scenes in the bedroom, they touch on PTSD, and also cutting which Cassie was doing. I found that the author dealing with though issues really added to the story. The ending for me was a little anti climatic but I was okay with the rest of the book.
