This first volume was a good entry into "Fall In Love, You False Angels". We are introduced to our main characters Otogi Katsura and Toki Ninomae. Everyone thinks they are sweet and nice because they are quite beautiful to look at. However, they both have a wild and unruly side. Basically, they are like a kitten that bears it's claws and hisses if you get too close. Mostly it's just a form of protection. Once they both realized that their true side is similar to each other their friendship began to blossom. Otogi seems to be falling for Toki pretty fast. Toki also seems to really enjoy being around Otogi, I hope we will see Toki show how much he likes her in the next volume,
Thanks NetGalley for this arc!

First I'd like to thank the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Fall in Love, You False Angels is about two characters who show one side of themselves at school while keeping their other side hidden. It was surprisingly refreshing to read about a main character that is a girl that knows she's pretty instead of bemoaning how average she is when she's actually cute or pretty but just lacks confidence. Although I do enjoy those characters it was fun and funny to read about a girl who is actually a little bit of a narcissistic. It's done in just the right way so that its not annoying either. I also very much enjoyed our male main character and I look forward to seeing more of his other side in the future volumes as well as learning more about some of the secondary characters. The art is very pretty and the comedic faces our heroine makes were great. I always enjoy series more when there is humor added in as well and not just all seriousness. Very much looking forward to the next volume of this series.

Yes, I am a hopeless romantic. I just love a good simple and cute romance story with great art. the colour palette used in this manag is exactly what I love and who I basically am in colours. Our two main characters are seen as the two most perfect people in the school, howver they both have sides of them that they do not show. Sides that are more true to their personality, where they do not have to be completely perfect and nice all the time. I would have love to give this a 5 stars, however I think that it needs a bit more background on the characters to see exactly why they do hide their true selfs, however this will probably be discussed in the next few volumes (hopefully). Personally I would date the girl and the guy they are both extremely attractive. I just need more of this "dark side", cause they seem more badass.

This was a really cute story of two people who put on faces to fit in and be liked by their peers. They meet one another and find they are more alike than they thought.

the art is SOOOOOOOOOO stunning, i loooved both the main characters, this is such a lovely shoujo manga, i love how funny both of them are and how prettyyy they are!!! i am very intrigued for the rest of the volumes

The story follows Otogi Katsura and Toki Ninomae, who are both on the student council. Turns out they both discover they have a hidden side to them. Both of the main characters designs are beautiful! I found myself laughing while Otogi's monologues about herself. The book has the perfect beats of comedy and the little bits of romance that's sure to bloom in feature volumes. I'm rooting for these two!

I'm no stranger to this set up. It's good to see another public face/ private face romcom ala Horimiya or Kare Kano (with a pinch of Kaguya-sama for good measure). While it falls into some similar pits, what helps it stand out is both romantic leads have masks, and when they slip they like each other more. It's a cute twist and worked well to keep my attention. If this is your jam, go for it! It's fun!

Absolutely loved it and I can't wait for everyone to finally read it. The hype is absolutely justified in my humble opinion. The art is gorgeous and the main characters have such interesting personalities from the get go. I'm really rooting for Ikkoku and Katsura and can't wait to see how the story develops further 🫶🏻 *eagerly waiting for my preordered physical copy to arrive*

A story of a class president and vice president that are forced to hide their true selves from the rest of the world. When they discover each others "otherside" a friendship and possible romance begins to blossom. Perfect for fans of manga like Maid-Sama.

That was amazing!
Very good romance manga with incredible art and well-written characters.
This story follows Otogi Katsura - class president and beautiful sweet angel of a girl....well at least that's how her classmates see her - and Toki Ninomae - class vice president, second angel of the school, almost too perfect to be real.
In an encounter with a few drunk men, Otogi slips her mask and shows her true self - brash and straight forward girl to Toki. He finds this side of her to be fascinating and, in turn, shows his true self to her.
This reveal has more effect on Otogi than she would like to admit. And feelings start to bloom.
This was such a good read, I can't wait to read the next volume (and reread this one)!

"Fall In Love, You False Angels, Vol." 1 by Coco Uzuki is an absolute gem! The main characters are utterly charming, with quirks and "dark" sides that make them stand out in the best way. The story is funny, entertaining, and full of surprises, blending its humor and eccentricity with just the right amount of cuteness. The dynamic between the leads is delightful, and I’m already hooked, eager to see where their journey takes them. Highly recommended for anyone who loves a quirky and heartwarming manga!

Fall in love, you false angels is a sweet, hilarious and heartwarming manga that follows the themes of shared secrets and hidden personalities.
We follow class president Otogi Katsura who is titled as madonna of her school. She is beautiful and sweet, everyone loves her. However it is just a face that she puts on, the impression that makes her likeable. On the reality side, she is brash, straightforward and doesn't shy away from the bullies if ever encountered. Her vice presidential counterpart, the equally beautiful and seemingly perfect Toki Ninomae comes across the real Otogi when a group of boys tries to get all handsy.
Turns out, Toki is quite fond of her new side, because apparently he has another side too. The always calm and composed Otogi begins to fall for him too. Having their secret hidden from others forges a stronger and cute connection between them.
Could this partner in crime begin to bloom into something more?
I loved this manga. It was a palette cleanser and I absolutely devoured it. The protagonists are highly likeable and I especially loved chapter 4 and 5. The story is engaging and the artwork is fantastic. It totally took me by surprise as I am obsessed with both of them. I cannot wait to read volume two.
It's a definite recommendation for the rom-com manga readers.

Otogi, who is scheming and determined, has decided to create a persona for herself as the perfect, beautiful girl: always polite and kind, always gorgeous. She's called the "heartthrob angel", for the way boys fall in love with her at first sight. But then she meets Toki. He's also new at school, beautiful and kind, and everyone's besotted with him. A chance encounter reveals that he, like her, is a lot tougher and rougher under the surface than he appears. Could Otogi be starting to catch feelings?

I don't read a lot of manga, but what I have read, I've enjoyed (e.g. Spy x Family and Library Wars). So I thought I'd try this one because I liked the cute cover, and it was available to read straight away on NetGalley, which I'm trying out.
I very much enjoyed Coco Uzuki's charming art style, especially all the expressive eyes and beautiful swirly hair, and the premise of two 'perfect' students who are really hiding tougher inner selves is intriguing.
However, I think a lot of questions were left unanswered, even considering that this is just the first volume of a series. For example, why are Otogi and Toki so determined to hide behind their perfect personas? Even if we can't know that yet for Toki, I think that, as the narrative is from Otogi's perspective, we could benefit from some earlier hints about her motivation. I'd also like to know more about Otogi so I can feel invested in her—without that, it's hard to care about her romantic choices. Also, I didn't find the 'tough' inner selves of either character particularly tough, steely or ruthless, which would have given the narrative more punch.
Thanks to Kodansha Comics for the early release review copy via NetGalley.

I loved the book
I thought the beginning, the first chapter, was a bit rushed, but I loved seeing the characters throughout the volume and the story.
They reveal themselves to each other and they are so funny. You can see the little gestures and attention they give each other, it is so loving and cute.
The characters are fantastic and you can already see the evolution and change in them by the end of the volume. I want to read the next volume so much!!!!
The drawings are fantastic, the expression on the characters and the way they convey their feelings to the reader, is absolutely on point.
I loved it. I am already waiting for the second volume!!!

This story explores the theme of authenticity, following two people who spend most of their lives showing others only what they think they want to see. But one day, they reveal their true selves to each other, sparking a connection that grows even stronger.
It's a heartfelt tale of two individuals who, often hiding who they are, finally find someone with whom they can truly be themselves. Their bond feels genuine and refreshing, making this story both relatable and deeply engaging.
The art is fantastic, perfectly capturing the emotions and chemistry between the characters. I can’t wait to see where their journey takes them next!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for an early release copy of Fall In Love, You False Angels volume one by Coco Uzuki.
Fall in love, you false angels is an enjoyable book however this reads as a average high school romance manga, the characters are essentially “I’m not like other girls/guys” with the split personalities. I honestly didn’t mind it much though, the characters are enjoyable to read and the art style is cute however I don’t think I’m fully invested in this romance yet. I feel that I don’t know these characters enough to really route for them, the scenes we do get with them are okay but I wanted something a little more cuter romance wise instead of this instant lovey romance. I would like to see more from Toki on how he genuine feels about all this, I hope in future volumes we get a bit of a flipped perspective between the two characters. I’d like to see how Toki feels about falling in love with Otogi. Depending on what the next volume is about I may or may not continue this series.

Otogi and Toki are class president and vice president, respectively. To everyone in their school they're perfect in every way. Outside of school, they both share the fact that they're complete opposites to their in school personas. They find out each other's secret by chance which begins their unlikely friendship and fondness of each other.
This manga is peak shojo. The art style is perfect, so beautifully drawn. The characters are interesting and multifaceted. And the plot is new and fresh.
I will absolutely continue reading this as it's released. This couple has completely sparked my interest and I can't wait to see what happens. Couldn't recommend this more to fans of shojo and romance.

A very cute and hilarious story. The MC’s have tension and every interaction made me want more. 5/5 stars just for the ending interaction of who is cooler. If you love little romance mangas - this is a definite read!

"Fall in Love, You False Angels" is a delightful slice-of-life manga about two students experiencing their school life. The stunning artwork immediately captures your attention, and the story is both charming and incredibly fun. It's a light-hearted and enjoyable read that leaves you excited to see what happens next!

I started my anime/manga journey with shoujo and despite having seen many other genres, shoujo still has a soft spot in my heart. The nostalgia this manga gives me of the many classic shoujos and especially my first ever anime 'kaichou wa maid sama', I loved it.
The characters are well-written, not annoying and despite the ML rejecting the FL initially, he was super respectful to her. I actually enjoyed that alot.
Honestly, I'm pretty excited for more volumes of this manga.
