I like the two main characters and I'm interested to see the relationship that develops between them. The concept of them both hiding their true selves in public is interesting, but I didn't really feel like their "dark" selves were really very dark at all. Just normal humans that get a bit pissed off sometimes. While recognising you are conventionally beautiful is fine, I felt the way Otogi talked about herself was really odd. I'll have to give another volume a go to decide if this series is for me.

Biggest thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this e-arc! I haven't read manga in so long and this truly put me back on. It's very sweet and cozy & I can't wait to get to the upcoming volumes!

Koiseyo Mayakashi Tenshidomo is a manga I was really looking forward to. It's becoming increasingly popular and I was starting to hear about it on a regular basis. This is author Coco Uzuki's first series. The two protagonists are particularly handsome, making you want to frame every other frame because they're so beautiful, and the character designs are delicate and pretty. The drawings are really the strong point of this shōjo.
The dynamic of the double hidden face is funny and we can sense a struggle to see who will crack first, a bit like Kaguya-sama. The story's central idea of maintaining a facade and finding someone who loves you for your true self is a good one. However, said hidden sides aren't all that shocking. They don't let on when they get mugged in the street... so far so shocking apart from the borderline language which is a lot less stilted. It would be interesting to see WHY they don't act naturally in public (even if the pressure of other people's gaze and the conformism of Japanese society seem obvious). It lacks a bit of development, especially of the secondary characters. I hope the sequel doesn't just have Otogi crushing on the prince, but continues to have its little narcissistic phases.

This was such a fun easy pace read, I can definitely give it 4 stars and only because it has just started and I need a little more substance for a 5 Star.
This is so adorable for fans that like when main characters aren’t who they say they are. I was hooked when the mic had a secret different personality but when it turns out the mic also has a secret I couldn’t put it down. I’m excited to really see where that leads the story and how their relationship will turn out! Definitely recommend reading this if you love a little slow burn romance.

This is a story of two people, Otogi Katsura and Toki Ninomae who, due to societal pressures, hide their true natures from their peers. Both of them are blessed with natural good looks, and as a result people expect them to be pure or virtuous like angels. However, both of them discover that they are merely putting on masks, and they start to fall in love with each other as they discover whats underneath the facade.

This was a great start to an interesting twist on a shoujo. The art is stunning and the writing seems well translated! I will be picking up more volumes in this series.

Thanks to NetGalley and Kodnasha Comics for the ARC.

Thanks to NetGalley and Kodnasha Comics for the ARC.

This was cute, but a bit underwhelming overall. I like the idea of the two school idols being able to be their real selves around each other, but even their real sides were a bit flat. It was all rather repetitive, with nothing of substance past them discovering they aren’t the perfect people they portray. And that happened pretty early on.

That being said, there is promise to this story and I would read the next volume to see if we got a little more depth and insight to the characters.

I love love the mangaka. I had the pleasure of reading a one-shot manga they'd released so I was already a fan of the art style. That being said, this manga had me kicking me feet. I love gap-moes and this is right up my alley. I cannot wait to read volume 2!

I think it’s slightly underwhelming that their “dark sides” are just them being like… real people? I hope this theme is either expanded on or explained more in future volumes. However, the characters are charming and the art style is beautiful. It also definitely had me laughing out loud multiple times.

It was a cute first chapter of a romance manga. I loved the art style and I am looking forward to reading more. Thank you for the early copy!

Really loved the art style and the Kare Kano comparison was spot on! However, the plot felt a bit rushed for my tastes (the female lead has already fallen in love and realized their feelings by the end of the first volume) and there's some issues with characters telling information that should be more shown (e.g. the male lead frequently references how "badass" and "cool" the female lead is, despite the reader only seeing her talk back to some boys in the first chapter). That being said, I'm still excited to see where the story might go from here!

A fresh and very nice manga to read!
Otogi and Toki are high school idols: kind, handsome, intelligent, perfect... At least, that's what they want those around them to believe. But the top of the world is very lonely, which sometimes causes cracks in the mask. I had a great time with them: I laughed a lot, the young woman is so sure of herself that some of her interactions seem completely crazy, the young man is readable and at the same time very mysterious.

I also loved the graphic style, especially the character designs which I found beautiful.

In short, I loved this first volume and I can't wait to discover the rest of this manga! ^^

I enjoyed this story. I was really intrigued by the cute, heartthrob outside but something else on the inside but I wanted more from Ikkuko. I wanted a tougher guy and obviously this is the first so I’m going to read the next one to see if his personality gets a little more edge to it. That scene with him grabbing Otogi and tilting her head back is going to live rent free in my mind. I would love to have Ikkuko’s POV. I loved the Cupid illustrations and the silliness of Otogi’s body seemingly ignoring her thoughts so find ways to hang out with Ikkuko. Looking forward to some great banter in vol 2!

I requested and received this book from NetGalley. My opinions are my own.

This is so much cuter than I thought I would be. I really like the way the author played with the dichotomy of people. Everyone has two sides. The side they show everyone and aside only those closest to them see. I love the art it's beautiful. The cover art was what originally drew me to this manga. The character designs are really eye-catching. It's just such a pretty manga. The blurb/description solidified my want to read the Manga. It's just vague enough that I was thinking of infinite poss bilities of what might actually happen in other story. And it was both more wholesome and more badass than I thought it would be. There's so much pining in this story. I wish we got a dual POV though. So I could know for certain it was mutual planning. But, I have a feeling (because of the genre, title, and context clues) that Ninomae and Otogi feel the same way for each other. I'm so excited for volume two.

The book is engaging from the get-go. I loved the fast pacing and the flow. The artwork is great and nice to read. But I am giving it 3 stars just because of the predictability.

Overall, it's a decent manga. While this volume doesn’t have anything that sets it apart, there is potential, and I am slightly curious to see if the next volume offers something more.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the advanced review copy.

Okay so there are a lot of things I didn’t enjoy about this but most of all I did not like that when Katsura is being assaulted by her teacher she simply writes it off as her being too beautiful like of course she would get assaulted she’s a beautiful 14 year old girl. And then ikkoku used that moment to get evidence sure but just completely doesn’t take the situation serious and that’s supposed to be our love interest??? That is an immediate no for me sorry. Other things I didn’t like were just how juvenile the story was and characters acted which might not be a flaw cause this might be more for younger people which is fine if you get rid of the above scene. Idk maybe I could’ve pushed through this and given a solid three stars but that scene I spoke about was done awfully

Thank you NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC! Class president Otogi is almost too perfect: beautiful, smart and kind, but underneath, she hides a secret. She's actually sharp-tongued and fierce. Toki, her beautiful male counterpart, is her ideal, but when she slips and shows her darker side, she fears Toki's reaction. But, what is she to think when Toki himself reveals a darker side to his perfect exterior? Is everything ruined or could this be love? A fun and quirky story of two people who aren't who they pretend to be, but have happily found someone that they can be their true self with. Perfect for fans of quirky, school romances.

This was so freaking sweet... KMT has been on my TBR ever since I first heard about it, and it totally lived up to my expectations!

Otogi and Toki are two class presidents with a secret side—one they can only indulge in with each other. They're both so endearing, and I can't wait to see the progression of their relationship.

I'm a sucker for a good Shojo manga... especially if it's a rom-com. It's rare that I get attached to two characters so quickly, but I'm really rooting for them!

Sending a big thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 Stars

Fall In Love, You False Angels 1 was a solid start to a shojo manga series however, I was a bit disappointed by the 'twists'. Otogi and Toki's twists I felt would be more drastic but they're both decent people and the twist just felt more like that they were not perfect people. Which is a high bar for anyone to try to match especially for two highschool students. I enjoyed the character design and there were some funny banter and I did like the little nickname scene at the end. I felt that was a sweet set-up but I think I just went in with a different expectation as to what these characters may have been like. That being said, I am interested in seeing where this series goes and am excited for the 2nd installment.
