I read this book in one sitting once I started reading it I just could not put it down!
I can't remember a book ever making me giggle so much! Since chapter one I was hooked on this story!
By far one of my favorite reads this month!
They meet on a dating app, and Dex is always swiping left since he never seems to find the right ones. when Margot swipes right on him determine to prove he is a catfish using a fake profile, there is defiantly banter between them.
I love that Margot is a single mom but also an elementary school teacher who doesn't put up with Dex's nonsense she puts him in his place. The chemistry between them is undeniable and you can feel the sexual tension between them for sure.
Dex isn't father material, but he is determined to get to know Margot and the more time they spend together the more he realizes she may just be his ideal girl or he hopes.
There is a moment where I was annoyed with Dex but in the end he definitely redeems himself so much!
Wyatt is also so funny!
This book was an absolute joy to read and I think everyone should take a chance on it I've already recommended it to a friend because she definitely will enjoy it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Margot and Dex, ably helped by the precocious Wyatt who, imo had the best dialogue of the entire book.
I loved the 'excitable puppy' character of Dex and the very serious Margot who takes her responsibility as a single mother very seriously.
Margot and Dex are very obviously taking time to get to know each other even though she is in denial about their dating status.
Despite Dex's seeming immaturity they seem like the perfect couple with each balancing the other out.
This is just such a feel good romance with spurts of humour, mainly from Wyatt and her shenanigans, and a lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Dex joins a dating app in hopes of finding a match and despite being a professional football player, he also does it as himself and swipes on a single mom, Margot. She also swipes on him thinking this man is 100% a catfish. Their first meeting his hilarious and sparks some conversations between them that turn into dates and it goes from there.
This was a fun, cute, flirty story. I love the banter, but Dex’s immaturity and full of himself attitude kind of rubbed me the wrong way throughout a lot of it. This made me not really buy in to the relationship between him and Margot, she’s a single mom with a 10 year old, she doesn’t need a manchild to take care of, too. Sure, there is chemistry but it felt very surface level.
The narrators on the audiobook did a good job with Dex and Margot and the overall story and I enjoyed them. I enjoyed listening to the story, versus reading it. Overall, it was cute, fun and pretty lighthearted.

Big fan & long time reader of Sara Ney! Biggest Player was such a fun read. Perfect amount of banter and heat, with a good story that wove it all together.
When Dex and Margot meet on a dating app she reckons she’s being catfished so she calls him out on it and for some strange reason he’s a little turned on by sparring with her.
But they both agree that this will go no further. And that dating kind of sucks…
But this is actually the start of something big!
Neither pictured it but it absolutely works with Dex the picky professional football player who’s a big deal and the funny and smart, first grade teacher and single mum Margot!

4.25⭐
Biggest Player is a charming, steamy, and sweet sports romance filled with witty banter and incredible chemistry that entertained me throughout. As the story follows Dex, a hot (and he knows it) quarterback who decides to join a dating app in search of a meaningful relationship, as he is tired of being alone.
However, instead of meeting his dream girl immediately, he matches with Margot, a single mom who only swiped right on Dex to catch a catfish. And their first interaction is anything but friendly.
Yet, when they eventually agree to meet for a non-date date, a friendship begins to form, but Dex insists he will never date a single mum. However, as the story progresses, he starts to reconsider his stance, especially with Wyatt, Margot's daughter, who is undoubtedly the best character in the story.
And with a fun writing style. That perfectly blends witty romance and spice, Biggest Player is an enjoyable and entertaining read. That's ideal if you're looking for something fairly lighthearted to dive into this summer!

Biggest Player is the second book of the Not Yours series, and in this book, we focus on Dex. Dex is a 25 year old pro athlete looking for a long-term relationship. He finds himself scrolling on an app, swiping left on almost everyone, until he comes across Margot. They connect over the app, however, Margot's dm is not what he would have expected. She thinks he's a catfish and gives him a piece of her mind. Margot blocks him, however, she doesn't get away from Dex that easily. She sees him at a restaurant that she's at with her daughter and parents, and to make it even worse, he's cutting a deal with her daughter. Margot is ready to tear into him again, but doesn't, only because he seems to really need her daughter's help. Margot is a 29 year old single mother, and Dex does not do single mothers or children, but of course, things can change.
I liked this book, however, there wasn't anything in particular that I loved about Dex and Margot's relationship. Dex seemed very immature at times, and Margot seemed naive much of the time. The only thing that I absolutely loved about this book was Wyatt! She made the book what it is. She's fun, witty, clever, and all around a good time!
Thank you NetGalley, Montlake, and Sara Ney for this ARC.

A big beautiful burly self loving goofy but honest football athlete who ends up dating a single mom with a child that’s more mature than he is ..it’s stuff of comedy!!
Sara Ney did good with this story that totally should be a sitcom on television.

Dex and Margot and little Wyatt story
🩷💛💚🧡
Margot Mahoney,📚
a busy single mom juggling teaching, parenting, and trying not to die alone. Dating apps? Total nightmare. But desperate times call for desperate swipes, even if they make her break out in stress hives. When she matches with a guy who looks too good to be true, she’s convinced he’s a walking red flag—or worse—a catfish.
Dex (Declan) Lansing.🏈
is hot, and he knows it. A quarterback with a killer smile and looks to spare, he’s a good guy looking for a long-term relationship. He wants what his friends have: someone to come home to…and if they’re naked when he gets there, even better. When he logs on the dating app for a casual scroll, he’s not expecting to meet her. One swipe, and suddenly he’s hooked.
But, Margot’s convinced he’s a catfish.
I’ve been wanting for Dex’s story for a while and I’m excited especially when there’s an audiobook with Narrator: Felicity Cross, Alexander Cendese which I certainly will be listening soon!
Dex and Margot along with Wyatt aka Baby Yoda had me going.. Dex and Margot somehow managed to get together despite having different personalities, ages and views .. but somehow along the line it all began to change as Dex began to develop into a more mature version of himself, (somewhat)
Dex was honest about not wanting children much less to dating a mom..but as to be expected Dex messed up and is willing to show Margot just how much he has changed and now she is open to things he never wanted before her.
The Characters had me hooked and rolling with laughter while they both figure out what is happening between them.
Dex gives me Johnny Bravo vibes with an innocence, while Margot gives the somewhat kind of mature character while Wyatt is truly the baby Yoda and adult of the group and I’m loving it!
The things Wyatt and Dex got into was super hilarious!
Don’t want to give anything away so I’m just gonna implore you to add this one to your reading pile first when you want a feel good laugh out loud steamy read!

Biggest Player is single mum Margot and Dex’s witty and entertaining story and it’s book two in the Not Yours Series.
Meeting on a dating app didn’t go as expected for Dex and Margot because he’s a quarterback who doesn’t see kids in his future and she’s a teacher and a single mum. But fate has plans for this couple and an unexpected event brings them back together……
I enjoyed this fun read but I struggled a bit connecting with the characters but that being said Margot’s daughter stole my heart. The banter was witty and funny and the story was well written and entertaining. This lighthearted and witty romance isn’t one of my favourites by this author but it could be yours.
I received a copy from the publisher through Netgalley.

Not Yours #2
Dex Lansing is 25 and a professional football player. He has a reputation, he's cocky, good looking and knows it.
He has decided he wants what his friends have and that's someone to come home too and hang out with but he's not sure where to start. When his friends suggest a dating app he figures it will be easy to find someone.
Margot Mahoney is 29, a single mom to a 10 year old girl Wyatt and teaches first grade. She also would like to find someone and hates the idea of dating apps but isn't having any luck so she figures ok. She clicks on Dex and thinks he is lying about who he is and reports him.
They happen to meet in a restaurant and her daughter is helping him get out of a terrible date and she's not too happy about it. He ends up changing his profile in the dating app showing other pictures and information and they come up as a match. Both are shocked to see who it is, but figure they will give it a chance.
They have chemistry there's no doubt but she overhears a conversation he is having and thinks she is being used to better his reputation. Can he change her mind about that and other things?
3.5-4 stars
I think Dex for being a professional football player came off as a man-child who had no clue on lots of things. He was annoying at times and funny at others. He would be a lot!
I did like her daughter and the sense of humor she had and savviness.

Sara does it again. Absolutely love this book and couldn’t put it down. The banter between Dex and Margot was so much fun. And her daughter, Wyatt, this kid is a hoot. There is so much I could tell you about the plot but it’s just more fun to pick it up and read. Honestly a few times I just snorted and laughed out loud. Enjoy

Whelp. I tried, I really did. Although I had a rough go of it with book one (Not Your Biggest Fan), I decided to keep an open mind and return for this sequel (because I already had an ARC), but to no avail.
Yes, I’ll admit this went better for me than book one, but, unfortunately, it wasn’t by much of a margin.
Again, we have Dex, a cocky, man-child football star who unwittingly falls for the “regular girl” he meets on a dating app—in this case, a single-mother named Margot, who is a teacher and four whole years older than him (both are in their twenties).
Much like with book one, the vibe was all off for me. And by that, I mean I didn’t like the tone of the writing, the character’s attitudes, or their very forced and not-at-all-believable romance.
I think I used this word in my last review, but I found the entire thing extremely juvenile. When the MCs are making you cringe every other page, with the obnoxious, immature things they’re saying and/or thinking, and it never actually leads to any sort of realistic character growth, then, Houston, we have a problem.
Without quoting specific passages or character interactions, the best way I can describe how I felt is by saying there was just something about it that made me feel really uneasy.
If I meet these people in real life, I would not want to be friends with them, that’s for sure. I certainly wouldn’t want to date either of them. To me, Dex was a walking red flag from page one all the way through to the final sentence of the epilogue. If anything, he became more insufferable as the story progressed, so the fact Margot continued to date this dude bro, and let him get away with all the shit he said and did… well, that just made me dislike her too, if I’m being frank.
What worked here for me (and certainly didn’t work in book one), was the fact that the secondary characters were more likeable. Namely Margot’s daughter, who brought some much appreciated humour and levity to the story. I’d go as far as saying, the only scenes I genuinely enjoyed had this kid in them.
Again, I’m left very confused by my reactions, having read this author several times years ago, leading to a handful of 4 star experiences. So, either time has changed me and my reading tastes, or the quality/style of this author’s work has shifted over time—either way, I’m not sure if I’ll ever be willing to try again at this point. There’ll definitely be an audience for this kind of simple, easy-breezy, contemporary romance storytelling, I just think I’m no longer a part of that demographic and that’s okay.
***A special thanks to the publishers and the author (via Netgalley) for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

**NFL Football Star & 1st Grade Teacher** 5 ⭐ 4 🌶️
“Biggest Player” is the second book in the *Not Yours* series, and it will have you laughing one moment and rooting for the characters the next! Join Dex and Margot on their journey to find their happily ever after. After a messy breakup, Dex is in need of a temporary girlfriend for the press, so he decides to give a dating app a try. Margot, on the other hand, is a fun-loving first-grade teacher and a proud single mom to her awesome daughter, Wyatt. She’s also looking for someone special, and she decides to explore the dating app scene as well.
Fate brings Dex and Margot together on the app, but Margot is honest about her concerns—she can’t help but think she might be getting catfished by a football player! When they finally meet in person, things get even better and funnier. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and when they finally give in to their feelings, it leads to some really steamy moments!
The author does a fantastic job of crafting relatable characters. Nobody is perfect, and while Dex definitely stumbles along the way, his heart is always in the right place. He learns from his mistakes, which makes it easy for Margot to forgive him and give their relationship another shot. The witty banter and easygoing storyline had me turning the pages quickly. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book in this delightful series!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Dex & Margot.
This book was hilarious! Dex's character was insanely funny and outgoing. Margot is a single parent of a 10 year old who really stole the show in this book.
When we meet Dex he is swiping on his phone in a dating app. P.S. I have always wondered how boring it must be to just swipe and then trust the person you're meeting is what they say they are & in this case Margot thinks Dex is lying about who he is (which we know he isn't but she doesn't until they meet).
Throughout the book we see that Dex is trying to do better and be better for Margot. He isn't perfect by any means (but who is). The have to navigate the paps, her being a teacher & a mom, & him being a pretty boy clearly loves to look at himself. *cue the your so vain song*
I will say though as the book trudges on we do get to see different sides to Dex and it is refreshing to see a character evolve into a man that Margot can completely fall for and love.
Anyway, these two are amazingly funny and I ripped through the book like wildfire because it was so engaging.
Thank you to The Author Agency, NetGalley & the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Biggest Player
When you call out a NFL player as a catfish on a dating app, you never thought you would run into him in real life, let alone a fancy restaurant. And your 10yr old daughter is helping him get out of a bad date.
This was such a hilarious read!
Between the banter between Margot and Dex and the diabolical way that Wyatt came up with how to get Dex out of that date .... so many laughs
Love a good reverse age gap with a MMC that has growth ....
And a to smart for her own good 10yr old..
Would love to see more of Dex and Wyatt teaming up against Margot .....

I really enjoyed the first 80 - 85% of this book, I really did. But the last 15% just fell really flat for me. I had liked Dex for the whole book, but then he became someone I just didn't like. I liked Margot until the end as well. She forgave way too easily and turned into a doormat-she didn't practice what she preached. I won't go into details, but I'm giving this 3 stars - and those were all earned in the first 85%. Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy-I'm so sorry I didn't enjoy all of it.

I really liked Margot and Dex’s story. Margot is a single mom with a ten year old daughter. And she’s a first grade teacher. Dex is an NFL player. Margot decides it time to get back out there and date. But when she see’s Dex profile on the dating app she calls him out as being a catfish. Dex is looking for something different then the typical women he dates. So he tries a dating app. His number one rule is no kids. When Margot accuses him of being a catfish he’s fine because she has a kid and he will not date that. Until by chance he ends up meeting Margot and her daughter. And tells himself that he can be friends with her. Dex was immature and a few years younger than Margot. But when they started hanging out they got along great. This was an entertaining and enjoyable read.

I enjoyed this book it wasn't my favorite. I had a hard time getting into the characters and believing the relationship. This just may not have been a good time for me to read this novel, maybe i'll pick it up again.

3.5 stars
Professional football player, Dex Lansing, is swiping right in hopes of finding a love interest. He comes across Margot’s profile and swipes right without reading it. Margot is a 29 year old teacher and single mother to her 10 year old daughter, Wyatt. She messages him and accuses him of pretending to be a football player.
The beginning of the book is fun and interesting with Dex and Margot’s texting. Fun banter. But— Dex is really immature and kind of full of himself. He made some dumb mistakes with Margot and she forgave him way too easily.
I didn’t really buy their relationship. It was only a few weeks and he was already saying “I love you?” Plus, for someone who didn’t want children he was saying he wanted one with Margot two months later? Doesn’t seem realistic.
Wyatt is the best character in this book. She stole the show!
Thank you to Montlake Romance for an advanced readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Fake dating a single mum to improve your playboy professional athlete image? Win win all round except your fake date doesn't even know about it... big oopsies! Dex is absolutely the biggest player, in size and stature, but hes starting to feel a little lonely now that his best friend is all loved up (book 1). Swiping right on a dating app for Margot was just a bit of fun, he totally knew the profile would be a catfish, but she did it anyway... turns out the catfish was Dex. Strangers to haters, to more - most definitely a Kissmet meet! Funny banter with a sassy 10yr old too. A standalone with interconnected characters.
I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own

Margot and Dex. Margot is a single mom to her precocious daughter Wyatt and she is just getting back into the dating game. She swipes Dex on a dating app and through a series of misadventures these two keep connecting. Dex is a star quarterback and a bit of a dill - totally a mantoddling himbo. In his defence is that he's funny and aware of his own cluelessness. Margot is tediously sharing custody of daughter Wyatt and I think the attraction of Dex is that he is a breath of fresh air, and easy on the eye (insert as many cliches as you like to describe Dex 😄).
Low-angst and a slow burn, told in dual POV, I love how we see Margot's attraction to Dex grow, and how Dex starts to trust his own judgment about Margot. He has a toxic family history, and his agent is a d*ck, so he doesn't receive good advice, or care. I'd have liked to see a bit more character growth for him, but he and Margot are great together and he (eventually) embraces the idea of kids. Young Wyatt is a delight!
A light and enjoyable read, rounded up to four stars!
Thank you Sara Ney and Montlake for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
