I was super excited for this book, to be quite honest it was one of my most anticipated releases of the year, but for me it just fell flat.
I had fun in the first half but then the second half it just gets all a bit repetitive and lackluster. Will and Beckett as a duo were completely hyped up and i was so excited to see more of them *together* it was teased in the beginning the possibility of mm but then it just didn’t happen?
I also wasn’t overly a huge fan of Charlotte/Charlie - the car storyline was just a bit random and not really needed, and don’t even get me started on the fanfiction because what in gods name was that. I completely skimmed over them.
The spice was there but again, it just got a bit repetitive towards the end.
I loved Will and Beckett, however i would have loved to delve into them more, they seemed to be a bit glossed over when there could have been so much more there and their POVs were a bit bland and the relationship as a whole lacked depth. I felt i was more invested in Blake’s story than the main relationship 🥲
The second half just felt rushed and i’m disappointed because i am a massive fan of Elle and the Off Campus series it will always be a go to reread for me, but this one is definitely my least fave of the spin off series.

My first why choose book. I wasn’t sure what to expect. But it was fun! Beckett and Will have been my favourite characters from the beginning. So I was so excited for their story. They were as fun and as loveable as ever, and when they get protective? Hot.

I loved the dad chat. Getting cameos from our fave OG hockey guys was as entertaining as it always is.

This book probably could’ve been a little bit shorter. The fan fiction part probably wasn’t needed. I have to admit I still would’ve preferred it to be just a Beckett and Will story. Definitely different to what I’m used to reading. I don’t know how realistic it is, but I’m glad it ended happily.

This was my first time reading an MFM book, and I greatly enjoyed it! It’s no secret that I love Elle Kennedy and this series, and this book is just another hit 🤌🏻

It goes without saying that the spice in this book was WHEW. Like I knew it would be but damnnnnnn this book had me chugging water

The thing I loved the most about this book though was the emotional depth this book carried. Yes, this book was all about their romance and spice, but they each had their individual problems and showed true development at the end. I love Charlie, Will and Beckett so much 🥹

My only criticism is that things were a little too easy for them, which made it a little unrealistic. Like I wouldn’t have minded if Charlie’s parents made more of a fuss but I can see why the author wrote this book in that way.

I ADORED THIS BOOK!

I don’t think that anyone writes college romance like Elle Kennedy. She absolutely nails it every time! The plot, the banter, the spice!!

I loved Charlie, Beck and Will so much. They were so fun and I loved how their three very different personalities came together and created this little world for them that they shared. I love how their walls broke down and they shared not only smexy fun, but also pieces of themselves that they kept secret previously.

I loved the Dad Chat with the OG’s! It was very funny and I hope we get a Blake Logan book, next!

All the stars in the world!!!

I’ve set it before and I’ll say it again. The second generation series is so much better than the first generation and I will die on that hill.

This book was pure and utter perfection. It didn’t just reached my expectations. No, it exceeded them and gave me so many more things that I did not know I wanted.

RUN to read it guys

Elle Kennedy absolutely nails it! The way she blends steamy encounters with genuine emotional depth makes this book impossible to put down. You can’t help but root for these characters as they navigate their messy, complicated lives and sizzling chemistry. I devoured this book.

The fact that in book one the characters are very queerphobic and say that people in polyamorous relationships can't possibly have any intimacy with their partners makes the entire premise of this book laughable at best and a money grab at worse (as why choose romances are incredibly popular). I was looking forward to this series but unfortunately, I couldn't get past the poor representation of different types of relationships. Also, there is no need for these books to be as long as they are, 500+ pages for a contemporary college romance is too much. It's a shame as I did like the three characters when they appeared in previous books but the hypocrisy of it all was too much for me in this one.

Well. I’m not quite sure how to say this but this book just did not hit for me. I was so excited to read Beck and Will’s book because I absolutely loved both characters. And honestly that didn’t change in this book. The problem? Charlie. I found her SO boring and honestly did not feel like she had a strong connection with either of the guys. I also hated how she referred herself as 2 different people. I kind of get it but like it was not done in a believable way at all. I was honestly more interested in the side characters (especially Blake who I hope gets her own book). I feel like this could have been so much more than it was which makes me really sad. With that being said Beckett and Will and some of the other characters made it kind of worthwhile for me.

This is my first taste of Elle Kennedy’s books and wow she did not disappoint. The characters in this book were spectacular and so full of depth, this book contained some seriously spicy scenes, why have one guy when you could have two? This is a beautifully written unorthodox romance, explaining how 3 people navigate their relationship which is not the norm everyone is used to. I devoured this book, now I need to get every Elle Kennedy book!

Elle Kennedy wrote another hit. I always love coming back into her world of hockey. I think she knows so much about the sport that it shows in her work. This was another win from her. We have Charlie who is a women in stem and a sorority girl. She gives off that she I a perfectionist and has to get the best grades but she is actually hiding her true self. Then we have the guys, Will and Beckett. Each of them brought something different to Charlie. As always I love that found family is focuses on in the story. This was a solid end to the series.

Read if you like:
- sports romance
- women in stem
- mfm
- found family

I love this!! I didn't want to put it down! Each book in this series gets better and better. I will 1000% be recommending this to everyone. The characters were great, It was spicy, but didn't lack plot either. I tend to find that spice can be quite cringey and just feel unnecessary but not in Elle Kennedy's hockey romances. If someone saw it over my shoulder I wouldn't be embarrassed that they saw that like I do with many spicy books.

Sad to see the end of this series but I think this book ended it well.
Wasn’t sure how a ‘why choose’ was going to work out in this story but work out it did. I think having a background into the boys already from the previous books helped this along a little.
Being back at Briar and absorbed in the universe that all started with Garrett Graham is great. Especially loved Dad Chat and seeing more of our beloved characters from the previous collections.
I hope to be back in this universe soon with promises of a new series.

If you’re looking for a way to heat up this winter, you’ll definitely want to give this book a read.

Elle Kennedy strikes again with this steamy college romance!

Another banger by Elle Kennedy, but is that really any surprise?! Gal can write anything, including this steamy yet emotionally-developed why choose.

She did a great job in making me love both Will and Beckett in equal measure. I usually always have a favourite, but I found it hard to pick between them… so, why choose right?! 🙃

I did find the ending slightly rushed. I think one of the character’s defining arcs was slipped into the last 15% and smoothed over a little too neatly.

I feel the first half was more heavily focused on Will’s POV and then the second half was more of Beckett’s POV and because of this we lost a little bit of insight into those characters in the parts of the book they weren’t equally represented. Mostly Will, if I’m being honest. The second half was where the relationship was more prominent and I feel his internal dialogue was lost.

I didn’t love the fanfic chapters. Kind of unnecessary.

But overall I really enjoyed this and, of course, am itching for the next book / series for whoever that might be (please be Blake 🤞)

The Charlie Method is the third book in Elle Kennedy’s most recent Campus Diaries series. Whilst this can be read and enjoyed as a standalone, readers of the prior books will get even more from it.

The Charlie Method brings back hockey players Will and Beckett giving them their own story whilst also introducing Charlie. Charlie is also a senior at Briar, where she’s the perfect sorority girl and STEM superstar. Behind this overachiever though is a girl who likes to let loose, race fast cars and chat to two anonymous hotties on a dating app. What are the chances that Lars and B, Charlotte’s new online friends are none other than her lab mate Will and the annoying Aussie Beckett from her other class? What are the chances indeed…

As with Kennedy’s other books this was a really fun and easy read. She has a way of crafting characters that you can’t help but root for. Each of whom have their own individual stories, backgrounds, issues and journeys to go through. I really liked Will and Beckett when they were side characters in the prior novels so it was great to see more of them, particularly the sides of Beckett hidden behind his flirty and chill persona. Charlie was a great FMC who had a lot going on and went through a great arc of her own.

I will say, however, that this one felt a little long when I was reading it. The other books are longer than your average contemporary romances but didn’t feel it in the same way. It’s not that I was bored, but more I felt there were things we could have lost that wouldn’t have impacted the overall story, but then maybe that’s just me.

As with Kennedy’s other novels you can expect some serious chemistry and tension that bubbles into quite the steamy moments. The characters are forced to confront and deal with the taboo nature of their relationship and explore the implications of what it means to be together.

I enjoyed this one, maybe not as much as the last one, but it was great to see Beckett and Will in their own book.

★★★★

💞 MFM romance
🏒 college hockey players x sorority girl
💞 opposites attract

We got to know Beckett & Will in the earlier Campus Diaries books, and I have been so excited for their book! 🔥 This one is MFM, and it’s so much fun 👏🏼😅 Both of the boys absolutely worship Charlie and if there’s one thing I love it’s a man who would do anything for his woman (or in this case… two men who would do anything for their woman 🧎🏼‍♀️)

It definitely wasn’t what I was expecting when I heard it was an MFM book - yes it’s spicy, but it’s tamer than I thought it would be! The relationship between Charlie, Beck & Will is actually really sweet, and Elle does such a good job of making us love both of the boys… and I really didn’t know how it was going to end at all! (a rarity in a romance let’s face it)

I do feel like because of the MFM setup a lot of the book is focused on the taboo around that, as opposed to the actual relationship(s) & its development… which I would have really liked a bit more of. But Elle has done such a good job of making us love them as a three 🫶🏼

Personally I think I would have loved this book more had it been MMF - I just struggle to get my head around the fact that the guys are completely ok with sharing and being in a polyamorous relationship, when they’re not remotely interested in each other? But that is probably just me!

Also some of the side plots here were *wild* and a little unnecessary - but I still had a lot of fun overall!

This book was so unexpected and loved it so much. The plot and characters were great, and the spice was truly spicing 🤭
I had moments of laughing out loud at some of the lines, and was hooked throughout

જ⁀➴°⋆ What to expect

🏒 hockey romance
🏒 poly / MFM
🏒 found family
🏒 woman in STEM
🏒 cinnamon roll mmc's
🏒 family drama
🏒 multi pov
🏒 spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Charlie is a sorority girl, woman in stem, perfectionist and academically competitive but she has secret second life that would make people question her squeaky clean reputation. I instantly liked Charlie off the bat, she's strong minded and knows what she wants. Most of the time it's the girl chasing after emotional unavailable men, whereas Charlie takes control of her life. Her character explores her experience with adoption and her identity struggle as a Korean-American.

Beckett ended up being my favourite! He has a fun guy exterior but he's deeply emotional and mature. I also have so much love for Will. He's such a sweetheart and I felt he was the glue to this dynamic and balanced their personalities well. His side plot was interesting but it did feel a bit out of character to me. Elle puts so much effort into creating engaging character arcs for all 3 main characters. One of my fave things about this series is it offers great plot and character depth in addition to top tier spicy scenes. I loved the dynamic between Charlie, Will and Beckett – these characters all have a lot of love for each other so they work perfectly.

This series has been so much fun to read - one of my fave aspects is the found family with the OG characters from the off-campus series but I've also managed to fall in love with all of the new gen characters.

There was a few things which kept this from keeping 5 stars. The Queen Elizabeth 1st and Alexander the Great fanfiction was funny the first time but it ended up taking up too many pages. Some of the scenes it was inserted after made the book feel a bit choppy and cut short moments I wanted explored more. I also felt the career aspirations towards the end gave me a bit of whiplash like I missed something as this wasn't really discussed throughout the book, considering they are in their senior year. The adoption storyline also felt messy and rushed towards the end.

I loved this overall and I can't wait to see where this series goes next!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Piaktus, and Elle Kennedy for the advanced copy of The Charlie Method in exchange for an honest review.

I have been waiting for The Charlie Method since Beckett and Will were first introduced in this series. This book was a lot of fun, and definitely my favourite of the series so far. I also liked how Charlie, Beckett, and Will each had their own issues to deal with outside of their relationship - Charlie's adoption story line was especially poignant.

The only gripe I have is that the ending felt quite rushed, and I didn't quite get the point of Will's decision at the end as it was resolved in the next couple of chapters.

This book had everything I expected it to have! The dynamic of their relationship was so well thought out. The way the book showed the moments of doubt and how they overcame them so they could be together was so refreshing.

This book had spice, banter and good communication. The way Elle writes hockey romance makes me fall in love with each book. I adored the characters especially Will and the struggles he faced with his father.
