I went into this book expecting a cute, spicy rom-com that would leave me smiling and maybe even blushing a little. Unfortunately, what I got instead was a complete disappointment.
The story dragged on with no real excitement, and I found myself yawning more than anything. The characters felt flat and one-dimensional, lacking the depth and emotional connection that would have made me care about them. There was absolutely no chemistry between the leads—where was the banter and witty back-and-forth that I was hoping for? Without that spark, the romance just felt forced and lifeless. On top of that, the plot was all over the place. I had a difficult time following the storyline, as the pieces never really seemed to come together in a coherent way. Overall, it just didn’t deliver the fun, lighthearted experience I was looking for.

I missed the boat for the first book in this series, but will certainly try to read it in the future. I loved the premise of the Love Hotel chain and was even on board with the kooky job titles, such as guest relations being known as Love Alchemists! I didn’t even experience a single eye roll, well maybe just a couple of tiny ones!
The setting at the beginning of the book is Spain, and that is delightful but short-lived as our heroine, Jasmine, is tasked with helping to set up a new venue in Jamaica. The only complication to this plan is that her secret crush, Alejandro, the sous-chef, is going with her. He’s younger and devastatingly handsome and has made it clear that he definitely feels the same way about her. However, inter-staff relationships are forbidden and being caught is a sackable offence. What a premise for a spicy rom-com! There is plenty of sizzle but not to the detriment of a really adorable love story.
The chemistry between Jasmine and Alejandro is clear, but so is their reluctance to jeopardise their careers, so an opportunity to explore their feelings away from the Spanish observers is too good to miss. I really liked getting to know Jasmine and understanding her reluctance to risk her heart and her job gave me a clear insight into her character. She was determined to rise through the ranks and make a success of the hotel concept that had taken a chance on her.
Alejandro, on the other hand, was willing to take risks and had a confidence that was both beguiling and super sexy. His skills in the kitchen were stifled by his domineering head chef, and he also had an overwhelming desire to reach an improved grade within the hotel, maybe even become a Cuisine King. Yes, he was younger than Jasmine but that didn’t concern him even slightly, he knew what he wanted and was determined to claim her as his prize.
Once they reached Jamaica, their resolve began to disintegrate, and all bets were off. So buckle up and enjoy the chemistry between this couple of lovestruck employees. I’m pretty sure that you’ll be looking for a return booking.

I loved this delightful romance by Olivia Spring , it was a great second book in the series (can definitely be read as a standalone) I was a big fan of the first and I think I liked this even more, although it’s too close to call.
This has one of my favourite things, it’s written in dual POVs, I always love to read a book with more than one perspective, I always want to know what the other characters are thinking or their motives etc… it’s also forced proximity trope I love so much.
This was such a great read, wonderful escapism on a cold winter night , with such beautiful descriptions of Jamaica you’ll feel like you are there (especially if you turning the heating up) so why not jump into this perfect little book of sunshine.

This was my first time reading Olivia, and I have to say I am a new fan.
The sexual tension and connection between Jasmine and Alejandro could be felt from the beginning of the book. They end up having to work together to get a new location of the hotel they work for, up and running in Jamaica. They are thrown into all these different romantic dates to test out ideas for hotel guests, but know that per hotel rules, they aren't allowed to get together.
Get ready for a slow burn but spicy read. You won't be disappointed.

This book had a great plot with intriguing characters. I’ll definitely be looking out for more from this author.

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was light, fun, steamy and kept me reading. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

The will-they-won't-they tension was great. I don’t know how Jazmine and Alejandro were the only ones who didn’t see that the other person was attracted to them. I also loved the ending, it was better than I could’ve imagined.

I've not read the first in this series and it did not detract from the enjoyment of the book, at all.
The Love Hotel in Spain is a boutique affair where singletons apply and are matched to holiday with a person who should be their perfect partner. Jasmine is one of the guest relations managers, and very good at her job. Alejandro is the sous chef, who also happens to be rather gorgeous.
One rule of the hotel is no relationships between co-workers. But there are sparks between these two that they both try hard to ignore.
Until they get sent on a work trip to Jamaica!
Sun, sand... you know what the menu holds.
The story simmers throughout as both parties try their hardest to stay professional, but boy, when the sparks fly, they are HOT!
Though, will what happens in paradise stay in paradise?
Both characters are damaged in their own way and have to learn to overcome their own flaws (which may only be flaws in their eyes) to even accept that another person would be attracted to them.
I really enjoyed this book. A light-hearted read with a huge heap of spice!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC.

Jasmine is the hotel guest relations manager, aka Love Alchemist, at an exclusive Spanish hotel where they specialise in helping guests finding their perfect match. She is asked to go to their new hotel in Jamaica to help work with the staff there setting up potential new experiences. The only problem is the sous-chef Alejandro, who she has a hidden fancy for, is coming with her to help set up the kitchens there - and any relationships between staff is strictly forbidden, especially as she is effectively his boss.
The location certainly sounds fantastic, I'm not sure whether I could try some of the proposed activities such as cliff jumping though, but I'd love to try the food (and drinks). Told in a dual viewpoint you could see the two struggling to avoid taking a risk in telling the other of their feelings, however then things don't follow the plan. There are some (very) spicy moments, which may not be to everyone's tastes, but if you enjoy these you will love this book.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

Talk about a couple with chemistry, Jasmine and Alejandro have instant attraction in this workplace travel romance! I think people will root for this couple and their will they or won't they but they have to relationship. I loved reading about their couple adventures in Jamaica. It made me want to travel there too. I think my friends will also enjoy that she is older and close to 40 years old. Thank you to author Olivia Spring and Boldwood Books for giving me the opportunity to read this early for an honest review.

What happens in paradise… stays in paradise!
Hotel guest relations manager Jasmine, also known as a Love Alchemist, adores her job at the exclusive Spanish Love Hotel. She prides herself on helping guests meet their perfect match. But matchmaking is absolutely forbidden between staff. And so Jasmine must resist the attraction she feels every time she’s around delectable sous-chef, Alejandro. The problem is, she knows the feeling is mutual. But she cannot jeopardise her job or break the rules.
Because all her hard work is about to be recognized when she’s asked to set up the new branch of the hotel in Jamaica. With an ocean between her and temptation, Jasmine is ecstatic. This is just the distance she needs to keep her feelings under control. But there is one kink in her plan… Alejandro has been asked to join her. For two whole weeks!
Under the sultry Jamaican sun, keeping it strictly professional becomes impossible when romance is literally all around them! So they agree a (secret) holiday fling may help satisfy their desires and then they can move on. After all, what happens in paradise stays in paradise… right?
My Opinion
This was a fun read. Olivia Spring is a relatively new author to me but I have enjoyed both books that I have read. Olivia has used dual perspectives to tell the story. A cute read in a beautiful location.
Rating 4/5

A highly anticipated book following the hugs success of The One That Got Away where we first got to meet Jasmine when she helped connect Stella and Max. It was clear then that her and Alejandro would get their own story and boy did this deliver.
Jasmine, aka the Love Alchemist excels in her matchmaking skills but she’s doing everything in her power to avoid the attraction between her and Alejandro, the sous-chef. Both are on track for promotion, only to discover the last “test” is to assist the set up of the new Love Hotel in Jamaica. Once it becomes clear it’s impossible to fight their attraction, they agree for a secret holiday fling.
I absolutely loved their story, told in dual POV, its perfect blend of humour, delicious slow burn tension and when they get together its fireworks.
Jamaica is the perfect location for this sizzling romance, the date destinations sound so idyllic and as for Alejandro, he is most definitely boyfriend goals. I mean not only is he caring and sexy as hell but he’s a chef
I also want to give an honourable mention to Bob, he had me giggling and a great addition to the team in Jamaica. We also have cameos from Stella too, who gives very good advice to Jasmine, how the tables have turned.
Thank you NetGalley, Olivia Spring and Boldwood for this ARC, all opinions expressed are my own.

Loved this fabulous spicy story so much!
Forbidden love and an age difference made this romance more interesting than your usual, will they won’t they ones.
Two strong characters who tried to resist each other for the sake of their careers, it was entertaining seeing them slowly come together.
Gorgeous settings too, and some interesting trips out made this book a real page turner!
Definitely moments that were very raunchy but still fun to read without being too graphic.
Such a satisfying summer themed book that warmed my heart up nicely and was a pleasure to read.
Extremely hot hot hot!

What Happens in Paradise is about two coworkers at a Love Hotel that travel from Spain to Jamaica to help the new upcoming hotel staff with the work culture and finding appropriate romantic activities in the area.
The premise was good, but I didn't feel like the main characters were written well. Everything felt very surface level/basic. The characters both liked the other, but couldn't act on their feelings due to the fear of being fired. Jasmine flip flopped too much.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A summer kind of romance with tension and spice!
Jasmine and Alejandro are working together and clearly attracted to each other. They get "forced" on a romantic work-mission and the lines between rules and attraction are suddenly very blurry.
A sweet, funny and spicy rom-com with great chemistry and heartwarming moments.
I havent read the first but very curious now!

n the first book, Jasmine, the love alchemist, helps every guest who arrives at the love hotel. Now she finds herself in a difficult situation, she loves her job but, she also fancies Alejandro, the sous-chef. Fraternizing between co-workers are forbidden, every one who did it got fired, so when an opportunity to go to Jamaica for the opening of the new branch of the Love Hotel, she will spend two weeks in the Caribbean destination with the sous-chef.
Spicy fun romance that I really enjoyed. Specially the new setting.

Hotel matchmaker Jasmine must resist her attraction to sous-chef Alejandro, especially with a promotion on the line. But working closely together to help out at the Jamaican branch makes it impossible to keep things professional, leading to a secret fling with potentially lasting consequences.
This is a fun, emotional, and spicy romance with well-developed characters and an adventurous plot. Jasmine and Alejandro are sweet together.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

The next instalment in the spicy Love Hotel series from bestseller Olivia Spring. Find out what happens in paradise in this working together forbidden romance. This time we are following Jasmine and Ale as they try to stay away from each other even though they are being thrown together at every moment. What happens in paradise… stays in paradise!
This romcom had me laughing out loud and cringing in embarrassment for the characters. The author's writing is effortless, making the absurdity of situations feel authentic. Beyond the humor, the story delivers heartwarming moments and swoon-worthy scenes. The perfect blend of spice, romance, and comedy makes this book a must-read for fans of the genre.
If you're looking for a lighthearted, engaging romance with a dash of spice, this book is for you. With its relatable characters, witty dialogue, and heartfelt moments, it's a true page-turner.
I look forward to reading all Olivia’s future novels and highly recommend to all spicy romance loving friends.

I requested and received an advance reader’s copy from NetGalley and the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own and in no way have been influenced.

Jasmine (relationship manager) and Alejandro (sous chef )both work at the love hotel with the ambition to being promoted. When they are sent to Jamaica to help set up another love hotel for two week , they can’t ignore each-other and the tension between them.
Dating your co-workers at the love hotel is strictly forbidden.
What will Jasmine and Alejandro do , focus on their career progression or embrace the love that’s brewing between them. Many laugh out loud and nice suspense moments.
I highly recommend

What a fun read. I loved the concept of the love hotel so much. I also enjoyed the romance and these characters in there. My favorite character was obviously the fun taxi driver. Im not sure exactly why, but i did feel like something was off/missing. It might be that these characters weren't relatable to me. Nonetheless, it was a good read, and i do recommend.
Thank you to netgalley and the author for sending me the book in exchange for an honest review
