Captive is an interesting story that caught my attention from the get-go. Robyn Knollys-Green is the prime minister's daughter and because of this she is always in the spotlight and she is constantly watched. After a failed attempt on her dad's life, she is kidnapped and utterly alone. There, she meets Falcon- who is supposed to guard her. I really liked reading about Flacon- more so than Robyn!- because he has a depth and a relatable aspect that I constantly wanted to know more about. He made decisions that made him flawed and I really loved that. Although the story was good in itself, I thought that the political conflicts within the story could have been deeper and more realistic. I think it is really interesting that it was animal activists that kidnapped Robyn and she learnt of her father's own flaws, however, as a whole it seemed like a sub-theme to the novel but I believe it's actually very important and reflects the political issues that we are having in our own society and I wanted this to drive the book more. All in all, an interesting read!
