Madison lives the fairytale life of many, with a beautiful family, a gorgeous house and a traditional lifestyle. She also has millions of Instagram followers who feel inspired by her lifestyle... but is it truly what it's cracked up to be?

I found the premise of the book pretty intriguing, catching a glimpse of a Tradwife's life. Knowing this is Liane Child's debut, it's absolutely superb. Gripping, twisty and heartbreaking all rolled into one.

Omg where do I even begin with this feedback!
Absolutely 5* I couldn’t put it down and I loved every minute of the book. I was hooked and needed to know what was going on and the secrets that were being kept. The twists I wasn’t expecting and I was shocked by some of them! Just goes to show that not every life you see someone posting online is as happy and great as it looks!
I will absolutely be recommending this book. I wish I could give it more than 5*

This was such a fun book. I do like those traditional values, but I am also open to other’s choices. I do think this family took things too far, especially with the lies made for social media. I did figure some of the twists out, but not all of them. I would definitely recommend this book to others.

I plan to share this title on my Instagram on Wednesday, May 21st at www.instagram.com/robinashleyreads

I am loving this new sub-genre of women's fiction about the trad-wife movement. I think it's because when i look at their social media, I wonder how they are so perfect all the time. Madison March is at the top of the trad-wife pyramid, with a picture-perfect family and homestead that she promotes constantly on social media but lately, there have been some cracks in the facade that lead to her life turning absolutely upside down. I devoured this book. Perfect summer read and just twisty enough.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for the advanced readers copy of The Tradwife's Secrety by Liane Child.

The author did a really great job of showing the darker side of influencer culture. The story is fast-paced, with unexpected twists that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The characters are complex and multifaceted, making it difficult sometimes to predict their actions and motivations. Particularly those with an online persona to uphold.

I enjoyed how this book really makes you second guess the authenticity of content that we consume each days as much of it is sometimes purely performance and not actual reality. Definitely a good reminder of the pressures of social media and the impact it has on people.

Thank you to HQ, Harper Collins and NetGalley for the advanced review copy.

Madison March appears to have the perfect life - an idyllic homestead in Montana, days filled with baking sourdough, tending the garden, and watching her four children play. She’s the picture of a devoted wife, with dinner ready each night and quiet sunsets shared with her husband - and shares her Tradwife lifestyle on Instagram. But beneath the flawless facade, everything is a carefully crafted lie. Cally is hired as a tutor for the children and gets a peek behind the curtain of the influencer’s life.

This was an easy read, though it did feel like quite a long 350 pages. The story is told through a triple POV between Madison, Cally and Brianna – another homesteader whose role in the narrative we gradually come to understand. It may have been a layout issue with the ARC, but I didn’t find it immediately clear that the chapters were switching POVs, especially early on. At times, you’d get back-to-back chapters from one character or it would just flip between two, without much of a pattern.

I found the depiction of social media unconvincing, as it didn’t reflect a real grasp of influencer culture for me personally. The Instagram comments at the start of Madison’s chapters felt formulaic, lacking the spontaneity of actual online interactions and instead following a pattern of comment and a series of 4 hashtags felt really inorganic. Her rapid growth to hundreds of thousands of followers also seemed far-fetched for such a niche space. It came across as an outsider’s view of social media, missing the nuance and dynamics of how these platforms and communities really operate. These points irritated me more than they probably should have, but it really affected my belief in the story!

It didn’t quite grip me, and although marketed as a thriller, it didn’t really read like one for most of the book – more of a gentle mystery where you sense something slightly off. I really didn't bond with the characters, all of them feeling shallow in their own way - I was hoping towards there would be personality redemption for some of them but that didn't really come.

I did guess a few of the later twists, though not all - it did feel a little like there were a lot of reveals all thrown in at once which felt a little messy. One thing I appreciated was that the twists weren't saved for the very end – often they’re dropped in late and the ending feels rushed, but here it was given space to unfold, which worked well.

There was a lot going on all the time in this story. I was a bit lost for awhile with who was whom but it all unravelled at the end. Interesting story..

I loved this book so freaking much. I love the nanny trope in thrillers, and this one was literally perfect. I cannot wait to get a physical copy of this book! Thank you Netgalley!

I did not see the plot twist coming! I will be happily recommending this to anyone who wants an absorbing yet easy read. The undertone of menace all the way through...

this book had me wanting it simply from the title alone. because sadly this title is real. these people are real. and of course i wasnt sure of the contents but i could guarantee anything inside was staringly similar to or even mundane to what goes on behind these influencers real lives or should i say real LIES. i hate this culture. and so many people are completely stuck in it. so this book was like a cathartic delve into what an author could do for this kind of society. People, culture. i was here for it. and it didnt disappoint. the hateful fakers are indeed the same.
Madison is the trad wives peoples dream. shes got all her gorgeous followers who she shows her life to every day. the perfect husband a rich house and life. what could possibly be more wanted, right? ha. its all so fake! and weird how doing all this wifey stuff takes such a lot of people to get it done. behind the lens is not all it seems. behind the lens is lies. and it goes much deeper and darker than you think.
i thought this book brought to life the dark side of that world. im only sad that people will simply see this as fiction and not get the clue they need that this is so much more REAL than they want to face when being enveloped into these people worlds.

Really enjoyed this one and couldn’t put it down! Loved the deep dive into tradwife influencers and what goes on behind the scenes. The book has multiple POVS which I love and allows you to understand the story line from all perspectives! I just wish the twists happened sooner!

Oooh I enjoyed this!!!

I knew I would as I am fascinated by the Tradwife lifestyle. The toxicity behind it all was gripping. The reality behind the influencers...

And that twist!! I genuinely did not see that coming! Like WTF.

So good. I read this over 2 days because it hooked me that much.

firstly, I’d like to say thank you to netgalley and the publisher for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I thought the premise of this was fascinating. I haven’t really been made aware of this “trad-wife” kind of trend before but I think utilising it for a mystery/thriller was very clever and an interesting plot idea.

this was definitely easy to read and fast-paced. it was clear from the beginning that a lot of characters had their secrets and the plot ran deeper than what it seemed to and I found that very intriguing and it kept me reading. I did like how the different perspectives were connected in the end and I think it was done well.

there were a few plot twists that did shock me and I didn’t guess correctly at all.

however, I wasn’t 100% consumed with this one and it felt almost slightly repetitive in the middle, and perhaps a bit underwhelming in terms of what was or was not happening. I also wasn’t fully connected with the characters so that might have added to that feeling.

but overall, I did enjoy it and would recommend to people who are aware of the trad-wife trend!

Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins, HQ Digital and Liane Child for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Very gripping thriller! It was a bit slow to start but after about 70 pages, I could not put it down! The writing style was easy to read and the characters felt real. I could understand their motivations even when I disagreed with what they did lol. And the twist was so unexpected! I read a lot of thrillers and get disappointed when I guess the ending but I never knew where the story was going at any point which was fun!

I love thrillers with a bit of a feminist twist but unfortunately, this was disappointing in that aspect. I expected Cally to be more resistant to the sexism/misogyny but she really wasn't. The text never addressed the talking points by the conservative characters and Cally even ended up agreeing with them without examining them so I really felt frustrated during those scenes. It feels like the writer was trying to show both sides of the argument but didn't do it effectively.

If you can overlook that, I would recommend this as a speedy, gripping and tense read!

I wasn't sure what this book would be like, but was intrigued by the trad wife angle. It's a superb story, with twists I didn't see coming and a good range of characters and tensions.

Madison March is the queen of the #TradWife influencers, serving up snippets of traditional family values and subservient domestic bliss to ten million followers on her @_trulymadison_ Instagram account. It’s all homesteading, homeschooling, sourdough starters, and dreamy prairie dresses against a sunset backdrop of their Montana ranch, but something darker lurks beneath what the camera captures.

I love social media thrillers, and this is my first time reading one that delves into the tradwife phenomenon. This one is JUICY, giving readers a glimpse of the disturbing reality behind the seemingly perfect aesthetic, exploring themes of misogyny, control, and abuse. There’s a deliciously dark and menacing vibe throughout the twisty plot, and I sped through the multiple POVs and short chapters in just a couple of sittings.

Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for providing me an advance copy of this book.

Its confusing as this title has seemed to changed author's since I downloaded it and then received another copy. But I did like this. Its a good take on a topical issue. The mystery wasn't mind-blowing but the characters were fun to hate and follow.

The Tradwife’s Secret offers a compelling glimpse into the life of influencer and homesteader Madison, who finds herself balancing the curated persona of a “tradwife” with the relentless pursuit of social media fame. Beneath the surface, however, lies a far more unsettling reality. Behind the facade of a devoted housewife is a woman struggling to appease her traditionalist husband, protect her fractured family, and survive the dangers of an isolated homestead. With dark twists and an unpredictable ending, this gripping novel will resonate with fans of Frieda McFadden and Jeneva Rose.

I was so intrigued by this one, especially with all the buzz around the #Tradwife trend lately. From the very first page, I was HOOKED, I literally couldn't put it down!
Thankfully, I grabbed the audiobook too and let me tell you... Lauryn Allman was phenomenal! 🎧 I had it playing while doing chores and carpooling the kids and I didn’t want to press pause.
This thriller was unlike any I’ve read before. The twists came out of nowhere 😲 and the story kept me guessing until the final page. I was honestly sad when it ended! 👏
Highly recommend if you're looking for a sharp, chilling, and fresh thriller!
