I love Claire's books she's always an auto read author for me.
The New Neighbours was another great tension filled read full of twists and red herrings that kept me guessing until the very end.

The New Neighbours by Claire Douglas was such a great, suspenseful thriller with lots of twists and turns throughout. I love Claire’s books, her characters always feel realistic but chilling as well. So we really know our neighbours next door? Well I am second guessing that one now haha.

I have loved every book I have read by Claire Douglas, and this is no exception; it was brilliant.
What started as one strange overheard conversation of the new neighbours by Lena turns into a suspenseful and mysterious read with a few twists that I didn’t see coming.
Told in three parts, we have narration from multiple characters, which is great as we get each person's point.
It was a fantastic book and I would recommend it to my friends and family.

‘The New Neighbours’ by Claire Douglas is an intriguing domestic mystery that reminds the reader that it’s not always best to know what’s going on behind closed doors! Unfortunately this didn’t grip me as much as many other books by the same author but gets a solid three stars from me. I’d recommend ‘The Wrong Sister’ if you haven’t read anything by Claire yet.

An easy high adrenaline read about Lena, who’s overhearing a conversation from her new neighbours, leads her to suspect them of strange activities……far fetched but gripping!

I really enjoyed this one and couldn't put it down!
Main character is a middle aged woman, coping with the recent seperation from her husband, as well as money worries and regrets about giving up a career as a midwife when she got pregnant with her now teenage son. When a well-to-do elderly couple move in next door overheard conversations and their odd behaviour start to worry her...
This is a fast paced thriller that will have you hooked. Gets a bit bizarre towards the end but still a really good read.

I loved this book and finished it in one sitting.
The characters were amazingly brought to life and the plot kept me hooked from the start
A must read

It's not secret that I am a huge Claire Douglas fan, HUGE, so when I was approved to read and review The New Neighbours I was absolutely delighted! This is a classic Douglas novel full of mystery, intriguing characters and twists that leave the reader reeling!
I inhaled this book, it was just that good! The multiple POVs and timelines pull the reader into this story making it an absolute page turner. Each chapter leaves off in such a way that you need to find out what's to follow. It was such an enjoyable reading experience and I need a new Douglas book asap!
Thank you to Claire Douglas, Michael Joseph and NetGalley for this copy!

Quite an interesting thriller. it was quite enjoyable and well written. It did have some slightly implausible parts, but on the whole a good story. It is a story of friendships, old and new and the mystery of what on earth can be happening next door?

Claire Douglas writes a fast paced thriller in The New Neighbours. From the moment Abi and her husband move into their new home, an unsettling sense of tension builds, into a web of secrets, lies, and unexpected twists. With sharp writing and well drawn characters, it's perfect for fans of twisty domestic thrillers.

Thanks to NetGalley, publishers, and author for an ARC of The New Neighbours.
What a story, what a book! Couldn't put it down. The main character did frustrate me at times but overall a brilliant tense read.
Highly recommend.

I'm now deeply concerned about listening to my neighbours chats in the garden! A good summer read, thank you to Net Galley for the ARC!

I love how Claire Douglas writes. There always that bit of anxious feathering in your chest as you wait for the plot to drop. Loved it.

Claire Douglas can't go wrong. This kept me on the edge of my seat and was a great summer beach read. Thanks Netgalley!

Have read a few books by this authors and enjoyed this one as much as previous books.
Bringing back to events from the main characters younger years which she thought were done amd dusted . But back they come along with some strange characters and end up tying in with ongoing issues. Well written and thoroughly enjoyable

Sometimes it’s not what you hear—it’s what you can’t forget.
Lena’s life is in a fragile place. Recently separated, her teenage son is nearly grown, and the house feels emptier every day. But when a seemingly innocent school project leads her to overhear a strange conversation from the couple next door, everything shifts.
The Morgans seem lovely—retired, polite, the kind of neighbours you’d never think twice about. But what Lena hears stays with her. It doesn’t make sense. Unless they’re planning something… something awful.
Most people would brush it off. Her friends and family certainly do. But Lena can’t let it go. And the deeper she digs, the more the cracks begin to show—not just in the Morgans’ story, but in her own.
Because some secrets don’t stay buried. And some dangers hit closer to home than you ever expect.

The New Neighbours is another gripping psychological thriller from Claire Douglas. When Lena meets the Morgan’s who have just moved in next door she find them to be charming until she overhears a conversation that makes her question the first impression they made. The book is told from her perspective, Henry Morgan’s and another character called Natalie. As Lena discovers more intriguing details about the couple, she takes risks to uncover the truth putting herself in unknown danger. I was fully invested in the characters and storyline and as always, there are plenty of twists to keep the reader guessing. I was a little disappointed with the ending but that is my personal opinion.

A pacy thriller with multiple threads. I enjoyed this one but my rating was impacted by the implausibility of some threads - and yes I know books are fiction- but when plots are dependent on too many characters being unhinged or making unlikely decisions then they start to lose points for me. Not my favourite by Claire Douglas but I’ll still be reading her next one!

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Using microphone to record sounds for her daughter Lena overhears a conversation between her new neighbours. Is what she hears as it seems or has she misheard?

When Lena accidentally hears her new neighbours discussing what she believes to be kidnap is it her imagination that allows her mind to run away. Or is it because when she was younger she didn’t speak out. Lean is a single parent and is juggling a recent separation and a teenage son plus a boss who doesn’t appear to like her when her past begins to catch up on her. The story is told in present times with all characters telling their own story from the past. The ending was kind of very predictable but it was still a good read that had me turning the pages till the very end.
