The perfect cozy read for a Friday night! I realised that I've missed ilsa's writing, this was the definition of a warm hug. If you're a usual reader of her books then I don't think you need to wait to pick up this book but if not, I hope you will after this!
Beckett was Chef's kiss! He was everything you could expect in a guy. Usually in the second chance trope the reason for their split would be something annoying but not in this book. The pining was so good and our h is also not a whinny doormat which was a relief! It's pretty much a novella but I would have loved a bigger book

This is a fast, cute read about second chances and soul mates. Everly and Beckett have been friends since they were kids, as teenagers Beckett told her he never wanted to see her again, and she left town. Now ten years later, she comes home for the Kiss Lottery and her podcast. She is upset that Beckett made her the villain in his new book and intends to confront him about it. However, nothing about seeing him again goes according to plan. I think that Beckett is a sweet guy and he shows that he is willing to break out all of the romantic gestures in order to win her heart back. There is a lot of good humor, romance, and a little spice. I enjoyed this story, I found the characters relatable, and the side characters interesting.
Received ARC in exchange for voluntary honest review from Ilsa Madden-Mills and Grey's Promotions.

I love reading anything Ilsa Madden-Mills.
This was a novella so a quick read which is great when you are in a slump.
It was sweet and funny, smirk worthy. I love a second chance romance.
Small town love story is my jam
So much fun

A quick well written romance by an excellent author. The story, being so short did not allow for much plot build up but it made a great escape for a few hours. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me access to an early copy of this book.

Perfect read for Valentine’s Day. A second chance romance spicy novella (130 pages). Everly Davis returns to her hometown because she received an invitation to the Kiss Lottery. Beckett Whitfield was her next door neighbor and best friend. But they haven’t talked since the high school scandal that broke her and her boyfriend up. This story is small town meddling, secret gifts and getting back with the one you meant to be with. Very fun novella.

Everly and Beckett get a well-deserved second chance amidst serious secrets and light-hearted fun.
Based on events later in the book, I didn't really understand Beckett's initial animosity towards Everly. That threw me off somewhat, and I kept waiting for that bitterness to pop up again, but it never did. If anyone had reason to feel bitter, it would be Everly.
Other than that, I enjoyed the banter between Beckett and Everly and their chemistry. Oh, and Everly's confusion about what was happening. Well, it's fair to say I was also a bit confused at the start. The gifts and the "roses are red…" notes had me smiling.
This novella packed in Everly's humiliation in high school, Beckett's secret, and their reunion without it feeling rushed or incomplete. And let's not forget the ghost story. I can highly recommend this if you like a steamy second-chance romance.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

After the events that transpired in high school Everly couldn’t leave town fast enough and it would be a decade before she returns. After receiving an invitation to the kiss lottery her curiosity is piqued so she returns fully expecting to feel the wrath of the whole town and in particular the man who was her best friend when they were growing up.
When they were in high school Beckett wasn’t sure how to handle the situation, he found himself in when it came to Beckett, and it is one of the biggest regrets in his life. Now that she is back it brings up all the feelings between them that haven’t diminished over time, but this time around he isn’t about to make the same mistakes.
The banter between was humorous and the eclectic cast of townspeople only enhanced this second chance at love.

Really enjoyed this book! A fun romcom with heart, humor, and heat. The writing carries emotional depth and her writing has grown from book to book. Love this series and cannot wait for more!

This was a cute little novella that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day. The MMC is sexy but brooding and he is super swoon worthy also. The small town vibe is cute and I really liked it.
It was fast paced due to it being a novella but it was really good. No third act break up which I like. I’d love to know a but more about them like a follow up novella as they were a super cute couple!

3.7 Stars for this book.
Not my first Ilsa Madden-Mills, probably won't be my last either.
I thought this was a very sweet read.
I can only imagine how torn Beckett must have felt as a teen.
I'm glad he finally got his head screwed on proper to want to get the girl, his gestures were cute.
Many thanks to Netgalley, Author and publisher for the opportunity to read and share my thoughts.

I enjoyed this book but wished that Everly was a little less whiny at times. I loved that Beckett was flawed and admitted his mistakes. She goes back to her home town when she gets an invitation (which never happens) to the kiss lottery. She wants to know who sent it and confront Beckett for putting her as the villain in his book.
Things don’t go as smoothly as she thought when old feelings emerge and they end up becoming close again. Add in the reasons why he pushed her away, the ghost mystery and an all around great group of people and you have yourself a great book. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

This was a very quick read as it is a standalone novella. Book was well written, cute and fun to read.
Beckett and Everly were best friends in school and were fairly inseparable from a young age. Everly always thought they'd be more but in high school Beckett started to pull away. When it got out that Everly had serious feelings for Beckett, even though she was dating his best friend, things fell apart for everyone. Beckett pushed Everly away and Everly ran. She hasn't been back in ten years. When she gets a mysterious invitation to the town's "Kiss Lotter", she decides to return home and cover it for her travel blog. And of course on day one she runs into Beckett. It would seem Beckett still "hates" Everly based on him making her the villain in his latest thriller but not all is as it seems. Someone sent Everly an invitation to come back home but she has to figure out who also while trying to reconcile her feelings with the town, her past and Beckett.
Good humor, great characters and a quick read.

THE KISS LOTTERY by Ilsa Madden-Mills is an adult, contemporary, stand alone romance story line focusing on author Beckett Whitfield, and travel pod-caster Everly Davis
Told from dual first person perspectives ( Everly and Beckett) THE KISS LOTTERY focuses on the town of Rose, Tennessee’s annual Kiss Lottery . Everly Davis left Rose Tennessee ten years earlier; a high school betrayal broke not only heart but her soul, and in this, her return comes with emotional memories of the past, and another heart break from the man she once loved. An anonymous invitation to the Kiss Lottery finds Everly matched with our story line hero, a match that brings with it reconciliation but secrets from the past.
The world building focuses on the rekindling romance between Everly and Beckett, high school sweethearts torn apart by betrayal, secrets and lies. Their reconnection brings with it memories from the past, a rehashing of high school antics, loves and losses. Beckett has never stopped loving the woman he pushed out of his life but life and everything it had to offer was quickly spiralling out of control.
The relationship between Beckett and Everly is a second chance romance. Beckett is determined to reclaim everything he lost, and Everly is struggling to make sense of the past. The lone $ex scene is intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters. As with all small towns, there is the local gossip, mean girl, busy bodies, family and old friendships,
THE KISS LOTTERY is a story of secrets and lies, friendships and forgiveness, acceptance and love. The quick paced premise is endearing, entertaining and captivating; the romance is fated; the characters are fun, sassy and charismatic.

After leaving her small town ten years ago, they say you can’t go home, but will that be true for Everly? She left Rose, Texas, after high school and after her diary was posted in the town. Her best friend, the one who cared for her after her mother’s death, Beckett Whitfield, won’t talk to her. He had also made her the villain in his last book. She received an anonymous valentine inviting her to the Kiss Lottery, an annual event in Rose. Who would send this to her and why? She had no intention of entering the lottery, but when she first meets up with Beckett, she decides to enter. What will happen when they are paired together for the lottery? She plans to broadcast her podcast “Travels with Everly” from her hometown. She is confused when she hears Beckett defending her to the mean girl from her high school years, when he had once encouraged her to leave town. Will there be a chance to right the wrongs of the past…maybe a chance for them after all? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Thank you to Netgalley & Ilsa Madden-Mills for the e-arc, this review is entirely my own honest opinion.
Fast-paced, lighthearted novella - perfect if you want something quick, funny and cute with a happy ending.
So I did enjoy this novella, it took around an hour to read and I loved all of the characters. Although one that confused me was the "ghost-hunting" storyline. It just felt like a random trope that really wasn't needed, I wish that the author focused more on the actual kiss lottery aspect - maybe show them having dates, or even showing how Everly does her podcast. There was no mention of the ghost part in the synopsis, although it was enjoyable.
As for the characters, it felt predictable but predictable isn't always bad. It didn't feel like there was much character development, but there was a really cute Romance between Everly and Beckett. I love second chance romances and this was one of those.
I really would recommend reading this, I did enjoy this and I found myself smiling a lot.

I have a love the relationship with Beckett. He is FINE but he was telling her he never hated her after literally naming the villain in his novel after her.

The Kiss Lottery was a sweet Valentine's Day themed novella from Ilsa Madden-Mills with a cute set up and story.
Everly is back in her hometown and not so happy to see Beckett. The two of them have history that includes a falling out and him naming latest book after her. Despite it all they still have a connection and undeniable chemistry. Ilsa did a nice job building their relationship back up and making the reader excited to see their HEA.
As a novella this is on the shorter side, but the story doesn't feel rushed or lacking. I really enjoyed this and can't wait to read whatever Ilsa writes next.

I really enjoyed this delightful second chance romance. Everly Davis and Beckett Whitfield have been best friends since they were kids. Beckett was always there for her when times were bad. After Beckett discovers a secret, he pushes her away, into his buddies arms. When something happens during senior year, he turns his back on her for good, making her leave her small town, looking for a place to belong. Now ten years later, a mysterious invitation brings her home to the towns annual Valentine event, The Kiss Lottery. Beckett stayed in town, becoming a famous author. When he included a character similar to Everly she is hurt but mostly angry, and she wants to let him know. But when they finally see each other, old hurts fall away, and they slowly reconnect. Everly is receiving more anonymous gifts and notes, making her feel things she never expected. Now she is reconnecting with her old friends, having fun, and trying to help a quirky resident solve a mystery for her. To top it off, she and Beckett are matched for the Kiss Lottery! Beckett has regretted how he treated Everly. Now that she is home, he will do whatever it takes to make her fall back in love with him and stay forever. But when she learns his secret, will she stay or run again breaking both their hearts? I really adored this enchanting, and sizzling story. Beckett is so swoony as he pursues Everly, and she is funny and adventurous keeping him on his toes. I also loved small town coziness, and all the quirky friends, family, and residents who are so hilarious, supportive, and a bit meddlesome, helping them make the Kiss Lottery even more entertaining, and the story even more heartwarming. You don't want to miss this hilarious, and hopeful romance about letting go of the past, and finding where you belong with family, friendships, and that forever love.

Sara Ney delivered in this new romance book. She is a comfort author, who provided exactly what I expect of her books in the best of ways. I loved this book and highlight recommend everyone to pick it up.

Spice: open door
I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. The audio is great, the characters are cute and funny. I loved the second chance aspect and the small town. The part that threw me was towards the end when this seemingly 'random' secret was revealed. It seemed out of place.
Overall, it was a very cute, quick read.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
