Emily Colin does a fantastic job in writing this book, it had that element that I was looking for and was invested in what was happening. The characters worked well in the paranormal romance comedy genre and glad I got to read this. It uses the overall concept perfectly and had that feel that I was wanting and enjoyed in this type of book. Emily Colin was able to create a world I wanted to get back to and enjoyed the overall concept.

Fun and magical!
Rune is cursed ala Cassandra, with visions no one believes. She's grown up in the system, being passed from one family to the next, never fitting in. She has her best friend, and finally her own place and a job she enjoys...so that means it's time for upheaval in her life. Enter Donovan, icy and definitely not a people person, but incredibly sexy. They are drawn to each other as if it were fate, one problem: them being together will kill him.
The story begins a bit muddled as the author throws a bunch or lore and backstory at you fast. Once we're out of that, it flows well and we are caught up in the tension of Rune and Donovan's attraction and self-imposed distance. I did get a bit annoyed at Donovan and his holding onto his past so tightly he can't see reason, but the ending does give him some redemption there.
Overall, an enjoyable read, I would definitely read more in this world and by this author. Once things got moving, I couldn't put it down.

Cursed in Love” is a cozy, feel-good romance with a fun paranormal twist. I really liked the chemistry between Rune and Donovan—their banter kept things light even when the story touched on heavier themes. The small-town setting was charming, and the quirky side characters added a lot of personality. Some parts of the plot felt a bit rushed, especially near the end, but overall it was a sweet, engaging read. I'd give it 3.5 stars, closer to 4 for the vibes and the unique premise.

Paranormal meet-cute with grumpy vs sunshine. Such a cute summer read with a side of magic, awkward flirting and saving the world. Perfect for cozy romance lovers with a penchant for the paranormal.

Cursed in Love was a really cozy read.
I enjoyed the overall writing of it, Emily did a good job on cozy world building and pacing.

An addictive story
Rune's life is full of problems. She has visions of the future, but every time she tries to save someone from a tragic fate, she makes things worse. Which is why she stays home whenever she can. But when her boss assigns her a big project partnered with Donovan, a brooding and extremely hot colleague, she is forced to spend a lit of time with him at the office. The tension between them is off the charts, but when Rune finds out he is doomed to die at their wedding, she does everything she can to push him away. Even if it means lying to him to protect him.
I absolutely loved this book! Honestly, when I started it, I expected a much less intense supernatural intrigue and a story more centered on the workplace romance aspect. But I definitely loved what I discovered instead. The story was addictive from the start and I could never expect what was going to happen next. the author really kept me on my toes with new magical stuff and hot romance that made me swoon. The world she created was really interesting, with witches, secret magic and unknown danger. The plot twist at the end was a bit expected and the ending a bit easy at times, but still delightful to read. As for the romance in itself, it was off the charts: hot, intense, and so much tension that I didn't know what to do with myself. All in all, a very cool and exciting story.
I highly recommend if you like hot romance with a nice supernatural intrigue.
“I’ll step outside the lines of everything I’ve ever counted on, everything I thought defined the world, if that’s what it takes for you to realize how far I’ll go for you. What I’m willing to risk.”

This book is "Charmed" , meets "Gilmore Girls" , meets "Midnight, Texas". And holy shit is it DEVINE.
This is the book that got me out of a reading slump! From the start I was hooked, and I immediately fell in love with the humor from Rune. She's so quirky and strong it's entirely endearing.
This nosey small town stole my heart, it's such a warm and funny community. Everyone knows everyone's business, unfortunately for Rune.
Mr Ice man, is charming and cold hearted at the same time. Especially in the first few scenes we have of him, but even under all that Frost he shows some care.
Their story is electric and so hooking. The tension is THICC and had me falling for them at every turn.

I liked this! It was cute and fun. I didn’t really feel the chemistry between the FMC and the MMC though. But loved the references to Ilona Andrew’s (my fav authors) and Charmed (my fav TV show)!

I expected this to be your average romance book and it definitely surprised me! It was insta-lust, kind of enemies to lovers romance that turned into witchy mystery fantasy and I devoured it in less than 48 hours. It was fast-paced, and while I would’ve liked to see a little more than a couple days lapse before they decided they were in love, overall it was amazing. This was my perfect combo book and I will definitely be picking up other books from this author in the future.

Unfortunately I never got around to reading this book, so I can't give a true rating. I loved the sound of the description though so hopefully I will come back to it during the cosy months.

‘Cursed in Love’ is a paranormal romance that had an intriguing premise but didn’t quite land for me overall. While there are glimpses of compelling lore and emotional stakes, the execution left the story feeling somewhat uneven.
Plot: ★★★☆☆
The plot had potential, but often felt flat or overly extravagant to the point of being difficult to take seriously. The paranormal elements, while intriguing, lacked the development or grounding needed to make them feel fully believable or impactful. It read more like a series of dramatic moments strung together than a cohesive arc.
Character: ★★★☆☆
The characters were serviceable but didn’t feel particularly complex or emotionally engaging. I struggled to connect with them, and I would’ve loved more development, especially around their relationships and personal growth. There were moments where something deeper peeked through, but they never quite reached their full potential.
Setting: ★★★☆☆
The setting had the bones of something interesting, especially with the paranormal undertones, but it never quite felt immersive. The magical aspects didn’t feel fully meshed with the worldbuilding; it felt more like a backdrop than an environment that shaped the story or characters.
Engagement: ★★★☆☆
I found it difficult to fully immerse myself in this book. While there were moments that held promise or piqued my interest, the pacing and lack of emotional payoff kept me at arm’s length. It felt like it was missing the spark needed to keep me hooked.
Readability: ★★★★☆
Despite my criticisms, the writing itself is easy to follow. The prose flows well, and the pacing, while not particularly gripping, isn’t difficult to keep up with. I can see this appealing more to readers newer to the genre or looking for something lighter in depth but heavy on drama.
Enjoyment: ★★★☆☆
This wasn’t a bad read, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression either. The concept was fun in theory, and I appreciated the ambition behind the story, but it didn’t quite land for me emotionally or narratively. It’s one of those reads that I wanted to like more than I actually did.
‘Cursed in Love’ has an intriguing foundation and the makings of a fun paranormal romance, but it never quite delivers on its promise. With more development – particularly in the worldbuilding and character arcs – it could have been much stronger. That said, fans of over-the-top romance and light paranormal drama might find more to enjoy than I did.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. It was wonderful!

This was my second Emily Colin book and it will definitely NOT be my last. I absolutely LOVED this book! It had humor, it had snarky banter, it had a clumsy psychic witch that was probably the worst psychic witch to ever psychic witch ever! It had a hot computer data engineer, it had a hilarious book club, it had all the elements that make up a highly entertaining paranormal romance book. I don’t want to give anything away so you’re just going to have to read it yourself…which you should if you want a good laugh, a good swoon, a couple good OMG moments and a HEA!

Emily Colin's Cursed in Love is a delightful mix of romance, humor, and the supernatural. It is set in the charming town of Sapphire Springs and the story follows Rune Whitlock, a graphic designer cursed with the ability to see the future—but no one believes her. She’s resigned herself to a quiet life with her rescue cat, Valentine, until she meets Donovan Frost, a brooding data engineer who’s her complete opposite. Their chemistry is undeniable, but Rune’s gift reveals a heartbreaking truth: they’re destined for tragedy.
The book’s small-town setting is full of secrets and surprises, and the dynamic between Rune and Donovan is both entertaining and emotional. Colin weaves humor and tension seamlessly, keeping readers hooked as the mystery of Rune’s curse unfolds. While the pacing feels rushed at times, the story’s unique premise and engaging characters make Cursed in Love a memorable read that’s hard to put down. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book NetGalley, a definite read for both valentines and Halloween!

this book was a sweet lighthearted romcom just what the doctor ordered. I very much enjoyed this story. it had little spice and big plot which is what I need from time to time. I would recommend this to anyone.

“You fit, though. Like you belonged there.” He liberates one hand from the pocket of his jeans and strokes the hair back from my face, his touch gentle.’
Rune is cursed. No matter what she does she gets herself and others in trouble. No one will believe her no matter how much she tries to explain, even the one person she wants to believe.
Donovan works in coding, he hates conversation and has probably never made small talk in his life.
After being thrown together on an app design, the two have to work out how to get on. Which proves to be a problem. With Rune being cursed and all that.
We have all had moments when we have felt either invisible or that people have purposefully ignored us. When we want to tell the truth but we know people would ignore it. We have all be Rune Whitlocks.
The chemistry is icy between the two protagonists (get it his nickname is ‘ice man’) and it continues when you meet his brother…
This slow burn fantasy romance was a wonder to read and the storyline did not disappoint. From nosey neighbours, to magic powers, it has everything you would want and need!
4 stars
Thank you Netgalley, Emily Colin and Victory Editing for a copy of this wonderful book for me to read and review.

🔮 5 Stars 👏🏼
Cursed in Love by Emily Colin is pure magic.
The curse at the heart of this story is just the right amount of tension and mystery, but it’s the characters—complex, flawed, and achingly real—that truly shine. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the stakes feel incredibly high. Every twist had me gasping, every tender moment had me swooning.

This was my first time reading a book by Emily Colin, and I really enjoyed this charming paranormal romance. Set in the enchanting town of Sapphire Springs, the story follows Rune Whitlock, a graphic designer with the ability to foresee the future—though no one believes her premonitions. Her life takes a turn when she meets Donovan Frost, a logical and brooding data engineer.
The characters were well developed, with emotional depth that highlighted not only Rune’s whimsical nature but also the complex emotional burdens she carries. The relationship between the main characters adds even more weight to their individual arcs, enriching the story’s emotional core. The plot was skilfully woven, keeping the characters at the heart of the narrative and engaging the reader throughout.
For those who enjoy a blend of romance, humor, and a touch of the supernatural, Cursed in Love is an entertaining and heartfelt read.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author Emily Colin, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Loved it! This was a nice quick read paranormal romance.
Rune felt like she never fit in although she really wished that she did. Not knowing anything about her past is troublesome but not as much as predicting the future for other's and usually it doesn't end well. Seeing her gift as a curse, she tries not to mention it to others because why should she, no one believes her anyway. Thankfully she is able to work from home as a graphic designer and she doesn't have to interact with anyone which means no premonitions! That is until a big project calls her into working in the office with not only an annoying co-worker but one she sees his future intwined with hers ending in his death.
It was a cute story that I throughly enjoyed and do recommend to others! It may be considered a bit dark for others at times but I loved it.
Thank you to Victory Editing, Emily Colin and NetGalley for this advanced copy.

If you are expecting a fun little witchy book, this is not the book for you. I started this book thinking it would be a fun light read, turns out I should have read the warnings. HAHA. This book is so crazy (in a good way). The mystery plot is so intense that I really didn't expect it to turn around at the end.
The spice level was a slow burn but gave me butterflies throughout the whole book. Rune is such a great character that you are always rooting for her to succeed. Rune is a seer that has an awful curse put upon her and it makes her life a living hell. The little town she lives is exactly as you would expect, everyone being in everyone's business. The funny part is that anything that happens is made public from the town Facebook page. Rune's clumsiness is so relatable that I could see myself having these awkward moments.
The funny parts mixed in with the very serious parts makes it a fun and captivating read.
Definitely a book that I will read again just to catch all the little details of the mystery.
