The second book in the WEBS WE WEAVE series follows from where DISHONESTLY YOURS ended. Not going to lie, I didn't love it as much as I did the first book, but I think it is more of a 'me' problem as I just couldn't get into it.

Book 2 in the webs we weave series jumps straight back in after the cliffhanger in dishonestly yours. It gives us answers but leaves us with more questions!! What kind of wizardry do the Ritchie sister’s use when writing such compelling books???

Krista and Becca Ritchie continue to write books with beautiful found family vibes, where you not just love the MCs you are reading about but all of the side characters too. Rocky and Phoebe give ride or die energy. It’s just always been each other. The fact they finally gave into the temptation!! So happy!! But then they have to hide their romance in this book, which made it all the more angsty!!

Hailey has a spotlight in this book and it’s left me needing to know more about her. Oliver, the same!! And Trevor, sorry he was a WILD card! The youngest but the most unexpected actions…

It’s like nothing I’ve read before. I love the grifters aspect of the storyline. And finding out more history about the godmothers and the gang’s heritage kept me hooked.

Can’t wait to see where the next book takes this story. Wish I could read it NOW 🤣

Thank you to netgalley and Pan Macmillan for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest opinion.

I live for a messy fake dating setup and this one absolutely delivers. Add in grifting, rich people drama, and the mom from hell? Say less, I was hooked.

Phoebe is the most funny chaotic disaster and I adore her. She’s fake dating a wealthy golden boy while secretly falling for her best friend’s older brother, Rocky, who by the way, is sweet, intense and 100% emotionally unavailable… In the most attractive way possible. And yes, it’s just as wild and wonderful as it sounds.

Their chemistry? Immaculate. Every stolen glance, every charged silence, I was internally screaming. The tension? Completely unhinged. The sneaking around? Chef’s kiss. The emotional damage? Honestly, I welcomed it.

This book is a whirlwind of messy emotions, terrible decisions, found family and the impossible task of trying to rewrite your life when the past refuses to let go. It’s addictive, angsty and unexpectedly tender, with characters who feel so real even when they’re pretending to be someone else.

It’s sharp. It’s soft. It’s a beautiful, complicated tangle of love, lies and longing. And honestly? I’d read another 300 pages of Phoebe and Rocky lying their way through love and life.

𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 : fake dating, forbidden romance, found family, morally grey characters, grifting/con artists, rich people drama, second chance at life.

Thank you to Krista & Becca Ritchie, Pan Macmillan & NetGalley for my e-ARC copy.

Returning to this world felt like reconnecting with old friends who never fail to make your heart race. I missed these characters and the delicious chaos that surrounds them — and of course, Rocky, who still gives me butterflies (damn him and his irresistible charm).

But… it wasn’t all roses. The book is long. Too long. At several points, I felt the story dragging, repetitive and stagnant. Compared to Dishonestly Yours, this one fell a little short. The protagonists’ development felt frozen in time until nearly the end, like we were all just waiting for something to finally happen.

That said, seeing Phoebe and Rocky finally give in to what they feel for each other was everything. They deserved those moments of surrender — no fear, no tension — just passion. After years of resisting, it was heartwarming to see them finally in sync.

A large part of the narrative focuses on digging up the past between the Graves and the Tinrocks. I admit I didn’t guess the ending, but I also wasn’t shocked. Maybe because the real tension was often diluted by mundane interactions, which took some weight away from the big reveals.

What really got me curious was the more active presence of the secondary characters, especially Nova — I need more of him, like, yesterday. In this volume, I loved that we got to see them more in the present, with greater depth, unlike the flashbacks from the first book. The dynamics between the siblings, and the always-enigmatic Jake, were definite highlights.

And, let’s be honest: this story was a rollercoaster. Cons, suspense, mystery, romantic tension… it was impossible to put the book down. The ending? A punch in the gut and a hug at the same time. I’m heartbroken and obsessed — and now all that’s left is to suffer while waiting for book three.

It was chaotic. It was passionate. It was a bittersweet return — but an absolutely necessary one.

💐 thank you to netgalley and the publisher for sending me an ARC of this book. ✨️

I don’t know if it was me or I couldn’t connect with the book but it took me 10 days to read the first half. But as soon as I hit the second half, It was finished in a day. Although this book is a continuation of Dishonestly yours it still took me a while to get into the book. I thought I’d jump straight back in and not be able to put it down trying to get answers but unfortunately that didn’t happen.

There were plenty of questions and twists to keep me hooked but for the first half I felt it was lacking something. Once I made it halfway the plot and twists kept me wanting more and I was even gasping out loud a few times from the answers we got.

I enjoyed the con job and how they all brought in Jake so well. He actually fit in really well and other than the questions he was asking you probably would’ve thought he’d been with them for years.

I did find Hailey really interesting and wished we saw more of her. The ending and then the love triangle that is happening is keeping me hooked enough to want to read the next book and get all the answers.

I'm rating this book 3.75 stars.

rocky & phoebe have my heart and soul!!!

this was so good !! the story picks up right after the first book and i was gripped from the start. The story is so character driven and i love the tinrocks and graves so this was perfect for me. I feel as though there was more of a plot in this one but still very character driven and I can honestly say this found family is one of my favourites ever.

Rocky tinrock the man you fucking are. The way this man had a hard exterior but has every caring bone inside. He adores his family and will go to the ends of the earth for them and phoebe.

‘“Don’t hurt her.”
Don’t hurt her? Don’t hurt the one girl I’ve only ever loved. Don’t hurt the one girl I would give my life for on repeat. Don’t hurt the one girl who has burrowed so deep in me, I can’t cut her out without bleeding out. Don’t hurt Phoebe.’

rocky is very high up on my book boyfriend list !!!

I adore the family dynamic between the two families and Hailey and Phoebe really are the definition of platonic soulmates everyone wants a friendship like theirs and being able to read about how strong friendship is makes my heart full.

I just loved this whole book and was gripped all throughout and I can’t wait for the 3rd book.

Well, I feel like I should start this review with a confession — I love Krista and Becca Ritchie, and their Addicted series is my all-time favorite series ever. However, this series is somehow kind of hard for me to get into. The first book was good, it was intriguing, and it set the tone quite well. I was basically flying through that book. This one? I really don't know. This book was quite lengthy — a lot of things were happening, but at the same time, nothing was going on. Then, in the end, we were basically bombarded with quite a few plot twists and revelations that kind of surprised me, even though I guessed some of them beforehand. Those revelations were executed quite well, so nothing against them, but still — was it necessary to leave them all until the end of the book?

Speaking of the ending, I kind of feel like the book ended so suddenly, so abruptly. I kind of wish the book had ended in the doctor’s office, and the final shocking twist would've been revealed in the next book! Imagine, right?

What I really liked in this book was being present for the con the characters were trying to pull. That was the most exciting part for me, as the whole con stuff is so unique and fresh — I don't think I've ever heard of another book revolving around deception. It was so entertaining to read, and I really wish there were more scenes revolving around cons in general — the planning stage, discussions, executions. I also wish we had other POVs, as I feel like the characters aside from Phoebe and Rocky were really all over the place. And it's not a bad thing per se, I swear it's not, but I feel like we need to know the story from their perspectives too. I need more of Hailey, Olly, and Jake, as their storyline for now is the most intriguing one. I honestly pray that they get POVs in the next book or even get a book of their own, as these three stole the spotlight from Phoebe and Rocky in this book, in my humble opinion.

Phoebe and Rocky captured my heart in the previous book, as the chemistry and tension between them felt so electrifying, and I was looking forward to seeing them as the power couple they are in this book. And yes, the chemistry was still there — they still worked so well together — but I feel like, in this book, the bond between them was overly sexualized, and it didn't bring much to the whole picture. The sexual part of every relationship should exist, don't get me wrong, but I feel like here it was quite unnecessary to include so many scenes. It almost felt like every interaction between Phoebe and Rocky ended with them having sex.

Other than that, truthfully, I enjoyed the love between them as it blossomed and became very apparent, tangible in this book. However, my favorite bond in this series will always be the bond between six characters — Rocky, Phoebe, Hailey, Trevor, Oliver, and Nova. Krista and Becca write the found family trope like no one else! My heart was breaking for them all as they experienced so much trauma — TinRocks specifically — but they came out stronger than before, and most importantly, they dealt with everything together, never left each other's side. I'm in awe of their bond, and I really want to get to know the other characters and read their takes on this found family. Where do I sign up for a Hailey/Oliver book with the addition of Nova and Trevor's POVs?

I won't shut up about Oliver and Hailey anytime soon, so be prepared, as these two characters intrigue me the most! And I kind of guessed some things in my review for the first book, so yeah — I can't wait to properly get to know them moving forward.

I guess it's pretty obvious that I enjoyed this book — it was good overall. Some things kind of didn't make sense to me, but I feel like they will play out later, so I'm very excited about the next book in this series!

Have Krista and Becca Ritchie ever written something I havent’t loved?? Absolutely not.
I loved this second book about the Graves and Tinrock family, to dive deeper into their bonds and love for one another. Jake is a great addition to their merry band of six, and I cannot wait to see where his story is going.
This book was full of mystery, romance and spice, just the perfect mix.
I will very unpatiently await the next book in this series.

Wow. What a book!! I absolutely loved this. I’d even go as far as to say more than Dishonestly Yours!

This book picks up immediately after the end of the first book, so you need to have read that one in order to read & enjoy this. Otherwise you’re going to be very confused!

Whilst the first book centred more on Phoebe and Rocky, this one brought in much stronger elements of the siblings. The family / sibling bond in this book was so so good. They’re a unit, they’re indestructible, and they each play a key role in the grifting.

The storyline was non stop and kept me well and truly hooked. So many twists and turns - it was a ride. It was such a good composition of drama, intrigue, emotion and romance. Phoebe and Rocky’s chemistry was off the scale. I love those two both individually (as the seductress and the silver tongue) but even more so together. Getting to understand more about how much and how long Rocky has loved her made me swoon so hard.

I will be talking about this one for a long time. I can’t wait to read it again already.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read & review this book.

oh god, this book was EVEN BETTER than the first. i LOVE LOVE LOVE this found family that’s been created :) being able to see phoebe and rocky dating was EVERYTHING as someone who was screaming at them to ‘get together already’ in dishonestly yours. the wait was truly WORTH IT!!!

now listen … krista, becca … i am BEGGING you to please please please give us oliver-hailey-jake as a throuple!!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 i NEED THEM so damn bad!!!!

rocky and jake’s friendship (ik surprising right 🤭) was giving ryke, connor and lo but if they were a duo 😫😫 don’t even get me started on the “our girlfriend” thing ;)

i never expected to find out everything regarding WHO our core six really were in this book— i figured we’d get a partial truth here and the full thing in dangerously ours but i’m certainly not complaining here lol. it does make me excited to see how things with varrick will unfold 👀 trevor, though, honey you pissed me off with that ending … what he did ruined the con entirely like ??? how was no one mad at him ????

There was definitely more plot and interesting twists, and we got to see more of the cons! I still felt there was something lacking, but the ending!! I did not see that coming. The new love triangle that’s been introduced is definitely going to be interesting too! I was not expecting that twist.

I’d love to see a pov from Nova, Oliver, Hailey, Trevor and even Jake. I’m excited to see more of them in the next book!

Thank you NetGalley and PanMacmillan for the arc!

This is the 'Addicted Series' in sheep's clothing. At some points, I'm pretty sure there were lines from that series taken and plopped right in here.

I enjoyed that we spent more time in the con with the characters. I'm loving getting to see the dynamic between the kids a lot more, and them bringing in more people to help. I will say, Hailey has to be the worst character and everyone seems to be ignoring it... genuinely an awful best friend and person. I hope we see her grow in book 3.

The relationship development is truly atrocious. My issue with friends-to-lovers is authors feel like they don't need to convince us that the couple belong together... but I need the development, I want to see them grow together as a couple. And unfortunately from some rather skim worthy smut, their relationship is boring and has no real thought put into it.

However, the plot twists were plot twisting. The last 15% of this book had my mouth fully open because I had no idea what was happening!

I will likely continue the series but I will say, this is definitely a filler book heading towards what I feel is the main storyline.

I loved this second installment, I loved seeing characters I missed so much!

Plot wise I cannot say much as it's the perfect example of character driven book, but I enjoyed reading more of this family of con artists!

I love how addictive KB Ritchie books are!

A huge thank you to the publisher and authors for an early copy in exchange for an honest review!

I ate this up. I love Phoebe and Rocky so freaking much, their connection, their romance, all their goddamn interactions. And Rocky, the man he is, some of the one-liners this man comes out with, I'm like wow, love, swoon. I will always be down bad for the best friend's OLDER brother trope and this was delivers. Also it's KB Ritchie of course it's going to hit.

I still struggle with the plot sometimes in these books, but the cons and the mystery are at times gripping. I LOVE the family drama. Can't wait to see what else Phoebe and Rocky have in store, in DANGEROUSLY OURS!!!

This series just keeps getting stronger, and this latest instalment is no exception. The characters are without doubt the heart of the story – the found family dynamic is both moving and entertaining, and it’s easy to become completely engrossed in their journey. Rocky and Phoebe’s chemistry is an absolute highlight; their banter is electric and brings a much-needed dose of humour and warmth amidst the chaos. Fans of the Addicted series will love the parallels in character dynamics, especially the friendship between Jake and Rocky, which echoes the camaraderie of Connor, Ryke, and Lo in all the best ways. The plot is packed with twists and turns, and the group’s scheming and planning make for an engaging read that’s hard to put down.

That said, the pacing isn’t perfect. While the first half of the book felt a little slow to get into, the second half more than makes up for it with rising tension, character growth, and some major reveals that leave you desperate for more. The depth of the characters really comes through as the story progresses, although there’s still a lot left to uncover in future books. Overall, it’s a gripping and emotionally charged read with strong character relationships, thrilling plotlines, and just enough unresolved threads to keep readers eager for what’s next. A solid 4 stars – and the next book can’t come soon enough.

Thank you NetGalley for this EArc

After loving Book One, I was fully prepared to be wrecked by Destructively Min—but instead, I found myself a bit lost in the tangle of plot threads. Krista & Becca Ritchie (aka the powerhouse duo behind the Addicted series) continues to do what they do best: writing flawed, compelling characters that pull you in whether you want them to or not. And once again, I couldn’t look away from Phoebe Graves and her messy, magnetic life.

That said, the story itself felt more chaotic than cohesive. While the premise still had tons of potential—ex-grifters trying to go straight in a town full of secrets—I missed the tight narrative arc and emotional focus of the first book. The pacing was uneven, and it felt like the plot was juggling too much at once without giving any one element enough weight.

And yes… I know I might be in the minority here, but I’m just not sold on Hailey’s storyline. The triangle-ish situation she’s in didn’t spark anything for me, and instead of anticipation, I found myself dreading the parts that shifted toward her.

Still, Phoebe is a character I’d follow through any con. Her connection with Rocky (Brayden, if we’re being formal) brought some of the strongest emotional beats, and their dynamic continues to deliver in quiet, powerful ways. The inclusion of Phoebe’s mother added a sharp, interesting edge—but again, it came in a little too late and a little too loud, tipping the scale from tension to chaos.

This is definitely not a standalone. If you haven’t read Book One, you’ll be scrambling. And as for me? Even with the bumps, I know I’ll keep reading—because I’m weak for this brand of character-driven drama and because I need to see where it all lands.

Final verdict: It didn’t blow me away, but it still had those signature Ritchie moments that hit just right. I wanted a cleaner con and got a messier truth—but hey, maybe that’s the point.

After the ending of the first book I’ve been so excited to read destructively mine and see what happens next. This book was filled with twists and turns and there were several times that I gasped at things that had been revealed. I love the found family in this book I would love books from other people’s POVS just because I love all the characters so much. I loved the romance and watching their relationships grow and learn what it’s like to be together when it’s not for a con. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book and hopefully see all the characters get their happy ending. The only thing I would say is that it took a while to get the plot going it really started to pick up at the 30% mark. I would also love to see the characters talk about their trauma more as it’s hinted at but never fully discussed.
