I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.
NYPD officer and former Army Ranger Mason is returning home to Cedar Falls following his father's death. What was only a temporary return soon turns out to be anything but when Mason discovers he can't just sell his father's crumbling inn, especially not when there's a beautiful woman, new to town, claiming his father hired her to be manager and oversee the renovation and restoration of it all. Mason made a pact with his three friends to always remain a bachelor, but Pia is making it hard to remember his pledge to 'never fall in love'.
I'm going to admit that I was drawn in by the cover on this one, and didn't really read the synopsis when I decided to start reading the book from my kindle TBR shelf. However, I was hooked from the first few pages, as Pia and Mason's first interactions were perfect, and showed how much of a spark and chemistry they had together. I loved how much Mason respected Pia, even when he wanted to hate her, he still knew that she was the perfect person to oversee the renovations. The Bachelor Pact gang were definitely perfectly written for this kind of series, and I know that each of their books will be worth the wait - though I don't want to wait that long. Pia and Mason were just want each other needed at this time, supporting and bolstering each other, while also being safe enough with each other to experience growth and development which was sorely needed. An epic start to a new series!

Fallen Hearts by Cissy Mecca is a heartfelt and romantic story filled with chemistry, charm, and emotional depth. The slow-burn connection between the protagonist and Pia is both tender and captivating, making their journey impossible to put down. I enjoyed this beautifully written romance and rated it five stars.

Four friends make a pact to never fall in love and settle down. This is called The Bachelor Pact. Mason is the first to break the pact and fall for Pia.
Pia is hired by Mason's father two weeks before he dies. Mason was unaware of this, after returning to Cedar Falls to restore and run the family inn. Their meet cute was not what either expected.
This was a new to me author and a good introduction to me to her work. This was such a cute easy read and I was rooting for this couple. I can't wait to see the rest of the gang fall for their significant others.

I absolutely loved the relationship between Mace (Mason) and his three buddies and how the guys pulled together to support Mace and how they refer to his Dad as Papa Bennet due to how much he meant to them all. I really wasn't a fan of their pact to stay single so worried how that would work with how the attraction between Mace and Pia was off the charts, however it's not just the pact to worry about as Mace has to decide what to do about the Inn but also Cedar Falls. I was constantly questioning will love win or the pact!
There was a great mix of laughs, self reflection, romance and small town living as well as emotions especially annoyance lol of Mace being soo indecisive (insert eye roll) but also fun getting to know the guys and gals.

The Bachelor Pact series starts out with Pia and Mason.
Pia is in Cedar Falls for a new job, a new beginning, and to prove herself. Pia has excepted a job at the Heritage Hills Inn as the new manager. The only problem is the owner just died and the new owner has no idea about this arrangement.
Mason has returned to his home in Cedar Falls to lay to rest his Father, unexpectedly. In tow are his three best friends who are more like brothers. The four of them would do anything for each other. Especially keeping each other mindful of their pact to never fall in love, never get engaged and definitely don't get married. Because it never ends well.
I absolutely adored these characters, the story was wonderful from start to finish and I absolutely can't wait for book two.
I have voluntarily left this review.

I would rate this book 4.5 stars and rounded up. I was immediately drawn into the attraction between Pia and Mason and the war they had with themselves trying 'not' to be so attracted to the other. Sometimes the heart wins out and sometimes it poisons the mind with doubt. Good story, enjoyable to read but slightly predictable. Not a true fan of dirty talk but if you are, you'll love this story.

Fallen Hearts by Cissy Mecca is a delightful addition to the contemporary romance genre, offering readers an engaging journey into the charming world of Cedar Falls. The story is rich with emotional depth, capturing the complexities of love, personal growth, and small-town dynamics. Mecca's writing style is fluid and evocative, making it easy to immerse oneself in the lives of her well-drawn characters.
One of the standout features of Fallen Hearts is its ability to balance heartfelt romance with moments of humor and realism. The characters feel relatable and their struggles resonate, adding layers to the narrative. While the pacing occasionally slows in certain sections, these moments allow for deeper character development that enriches the overall story.
As part of a new series, Fallen Hearts sets a promising tone for future installments. Fans of small-town romance will appreciate the vivid setting and the sense of community that permeates the book. It’s a warm and satisfying read that leaves you eager for more.
I give Fallen Hearts four stars for its compelling storytelling, memorable characters, and emotional resonance. It’s a must-read for anyone looking for a heartwarming escape!

Pia has overcome so much to reach this point in her career so while saddened by the passing of her new boss she isn’t about to just walk away. After uprooting her life for his opportunity, she is determined that the heir to the business, Mason, will honour her contract and she will show him how invaluable she is.
Mason is devastated by the loss of his father but his life and his fulfilling career as a police officer are in New York. His plan was to honour his father’s dream and return to his life but the more time he spends in Cedar Falls with Pia the more he is forced to reconsider his plans especially when it comes to the pact he made with his friends.
Not only are the characters of Pia and Mason captivating but I am looking forward to his friend’s stories as well. This is a heartwarming story about love, family and realizing what and who will truly make you happy.

Breaking the Pact
Having made a pact with his three other friends' years before to stay a bachelor does not hold when he meets the one woman who destined to capture his heart. Pia was looking to start her new job but with the owner's sudden passing and his son's reluctance to keep her on, this story was bound to heat up. It was an overall, charming story with romance and banter that kept me interested. It was definitely a fun plot and characters that had growth throughout the book.

DNF at 30%
Unfortunately this one wasn't for me. I felt the characters lacked depth and they fell very flat. I couldn't get on board with their story and I felt like I was reading for the sake of reading. The author's writing style is encouraging and I would be willing to try her work again some day as she may improve.

I hope you're sat because this one has a grumpy man that lives in a small town and refuses to settle down and date has to deal with the woman his dad hired to deal with his inn, who also turns out to be the only woman in ages he has some interest in. Oh, and he made a pact to never marry with his friends, so their relationship is kind of forbidden.
I swear to god I couldn't put down this book. I also cried a little, but was laughing at others. Also, the found family that this book starts?? I'm a sucker for that.
I can't wait to read more about this group of friends...

I adored this one and really enjoyed the small town aspect. I'm excited to see where this series takes the characters. I feel like the redemption of the MMC fell short for me and deserved a little bit more development.

One of my favorite things is that the MCs are in their 30s. You don't see that all that often and it was nice. I did like the story and the tension..

Returning to Cedar Falls was never part of the plan, but when Jackson’s father unexpectedly passes away, he’s forced to face the family inn—and Pia, the beautiful and captivating woman his father hired to restore it. She’s everything he’s learned to avoid—beautiful, tempting, and off-limits—but working together on the inn tests his resolve in ways he never expected. As their connection deepens, Jackson must decide: stick to the pact that’s kept him safe, or risk everything for the possibility of love.

This book had me giddy with all the romance!
Fallen Hearts is the first book in The Bachelor Pact series by Cissy Mecca. The story revolves around two people, Mason and Pia, who live in a small town. When Mason returns to his hometown to take over his family’s inn, he doesn’t expect to clash with Pia, the woman hired to help restore the place. Bound by a promise to never fall in love, Mason finds himself in trouble when feelings start to spark.
I absolutely loved the connection between Mason and Pia — the chemistry was undeniable and so well developed. Their slow-burn romance kept me smiling and swooning the whole time. The character building in this book was solid too. The small-town vibes were strong — cozy, charming, and filled with warmth.
If you’re a fan of small-town romances with slow-burn chemistry, lovable friend groups, and a broody MMC who slowly falls for the sunshiney heroine — this one’s for you!
Can’t wait to see what’s next in The Bachelor Pact series!

I loved this book so much. I am a sucker for books where two people are meeting and getting to know each other. I actually feel butterflies. This book was very well written and I fell in love myself with Mason. Looking forward to book #2 in this series

Steamy Small-Town Romance with Heart
Pia arrives in town hoping for a fresh start, only to discover that the man who hired her to manage his inn has passed away. Now, she’s left dealing with his son, Mason—a man who initially wants nothing to do with her or the inn. Certain she’ll have to pack up and leave in defeat, Pia is surprised when Mason has a change of heart.
As they work together, their undeniable attraction sparks sizzling chemistry. But Mason is torn—his bachelor pact with his friends looms over him, and he’s unsure whether to keep the inn or sell it and return to the big city. Will he risk love for the sake of a promise, or will he embrace the unexpected happiness Pia brings into his life?
If you enjoy steamy, small-town romances filled with passion and emotional depth, this entertaining story is worth a read.

My first book by this author and it was a fun read!
Pia has moved to the small town of Cedar Falls for a new job managing the Inn only to find out that the owner has just passed away. She ventures to said Inn to see what she should do and the owner's son is adamant that they don't need help. After some back and forth he decides to give her a chance. They have an instant attraction but neither thinks they can go the full way since he's her boss.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between Mason and Pia. The fun banter between Pia and all of the guys had me giggling the whole time, especially Beck. The story had that small town feel of everyone welcoming Pia in and her finding her way with a fresh start somewhere new. I just had a hard time sticking this one out for some reason, I found myself not being hooked in and taking longer to finish. I can't find the exact words because I don't think the story itself was bad but I just didn't vibe overall with this one. It was a fun read in general and I would definitely recommend it but it's not one that I would go back to at a later date.
Thank you Cissy Mecca and Netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

This is a good start to a new series. Loved Pia and the relationship Mason has with his friends. Mason I was unsure of at first but he redeemed himself.

My sincere thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read Fallen Hearts by Cissy Mecca. I give my unbiased opinion of this book in the following review.
Mason has come back to his hometown when his father passes away unexpectedly. He doesn't know what to do with the Inn that was his father's whole life. His three best friends have come to support him. Mason and his friends have had a bachelor pact since college. They have to kick in money if they get engaged or married, but all of them are confident that marriage is not for them. Mason has taken leave from his job as an NYPD officer in order to figure out what to do with the Inn. What he doesn't know is that just before his death, his dad hired Pia to move out from Oregon to help manage and update the business for the future. She has no idea when she knocks on the door that she no longer has a job. While Mason is surprised at first, she tells him she can help and he decides to let her keep her job and if he sells, he will guarantee the new owner will keep her on for a certain period of time. Of course, she is beautiful, he is gorgeous, and they have fun bantering back and forth. Will Mason sell? Will they give in to temptation and ignore their boss/employee relationship for a romantic one?
My favorite part about this book was the friend relationship between the guys. They have each other's backs, and I loved their humor. It was easy to see where Mason and Pia were headed. This is a romance book after all. There are really no surprises in this book. It is a straightforward romance with not a super lot of character development. I am assuming that the future books in the series will be about Mason's three friends. There is a preview chapter at the end that gives a peek into the next book. I'm intrigued by that one so I will probably check it out. I recommend Fallen Hearts to anyone who is in the mood for a cute, low stress romantic read.
FYI - Open Door Scenes and a little course language.
